Work Text:
It's been a couple days since Belle woke back up from being lacey, gods did she hate remembering all the crap she said to Rumple. Even if it wasn't really her.
Really though, most of Lacey's actions aren't anything that Belle liked. Nor was it what she remembered being like in the curse.
Brooding over the past couple weeks at Granny's, Belle immediately noticed when Regina walked in. Just as she was forming another thought on Lacey, she realized the only person who could've conjured her to be Regina.
Moving on pure impulse, Belle walked up to Regina, the words to fly out of her mouth a surprise to everyone including herself.
"Who the hell do you think you are!?" Belle looked shocked as soon as she finished talking, but not regretful.
"Excuse me? I'm your mayor, and a witch. Before you keep going on whatever temper tantr-" Reginas voice was cut off by Belle decking her right in her nose.
A cacophony of gasps were heard throughout the diner. And a little "nice aim" from Granny herself.
Right when Regina regained her balance atefr stumbling back from the punch, she brought out her hand for what was surely going to be a fireball.
Instead of deescalating the situation like she should have, Belle just couldn't take the idea of Regina doing anything to her again.
So like any person of sound mind, she bitch slapped her. "I've had enough of you messing with my mind, and my life, Regina. Until you apologize for the bullshit you've put me through, I won't let anyone forget who you really are!"
"You have no idea who you've made an enemy out of." Regina, no, the evil queen spat out.
"I don't care." Forgetting to pay for her food, Belle left the diner. No destination in mind, just anywhere but here. Anywhere that wasn't around her.
