Chapter Text
Jiyong doesn’t find passion in many things. However, since he was little he was always taken aback by the wonder and magic of music. Meaningful lyrics, the emotional connection, the overall tunes of songs that take bliss through him. Music makes him one. Only seventeen and with such awe in one thing.
He sits in class fidgeting with his pen staring down at his work, often taking glances up just to look at the amazing, gorgeous boy in his class. Seunghyun, his Seunghyun. He is quite similar to Jiyong in most ways. He also has an awe for music. In fact, he is even successful so far. He had released a few songs just by himself and Jiyong couldn't help but find him so dreamy, stealing glances in hallways, playing his music at lonely nights in his room, learning the guitar chords he even uses for his songs. But the worst part? He can’t bring himself to mutter a word to him. He is scared he will be judged or even disliked for that matter. But one day he brings himself to get the courage to write a letter. A love letter. Just for his Seunghyun. He always wished he would notice him. And maybe, just maybe that day would finally come.
JIYONGS POV:
After tossing and turning in my bed the clock finally turns to 7am, time to get up. I slide out of bed, half asleep and put on my uniform. I look at myself in the mirror for about 30 minutes trying to make myself at least look nice and presentable if my plan goes wrong and Seunghyun figures out I was the weirdo that put a love letter in his locker.
After messing with my cherry-red dyed hair impatiently I finally stumbled down the stairs just to see my mom cleaning up the kitchen.
“Morning momma” Jiyong mumbles quietly.
“Morning sweetie, how was your sleep?” She questions with a bright smile.
“Mm… good,” Jiyong says softly.
I slowly make my way to the front door, ready to leave, backpack strap clutched in my hand as I leave. While I'm walking to school, I read over the only thing that is my priority right now over one hundred times. The love letter. My hands trembling, I carefully read it word for word, making sure that there is not one mistake. When I arrive at school, I can already feel the fear shadowing over me.
I watched other students make their way into the school, ready to start their day while I was just dreading all the possibilities that could happen. But I promised myself I would give him this letter, there is no going back now.
As soon as i steadily walk into the school i start to look around anxiously to see if he is in sight and ofcourse seunghyun is already at his locker meaning i would need to wait more time until i could just quietly maybe-just maybe sneakily slide the letter into his locker without anybody noticing?
God, I mean who could not admire Seunghyun, he is perfect in every way possible, his boba-brown eyes, his dimples that flatter his face in the most astonishing way possible, his sharp jawline that looks like it could cut paper. Ugh, he is so pulchritudinous.
Fuck jiyong, stop it you look weird your’re staring, stop it!
As soon as I force myself to stop looking at seunghyun’s captivating face I start to make my way to my own locker to grab my books for my next class. Math. Ugh, I hate math. It just drags on so much but whatever. When i get my books i see Youngbae coming over to me. He places a hand on my shoulder and wiggles his eyebrows
“soooo… Jiyong, how's the admiration going?”
I nudge him off. “Oh shut up, and I'm kinda nervous because I wrote him a letter and I don't know if he would like it because I'm not going to sign it as well.”
“What?! Why not? If you do, he might actually take interest in you!” he exclaimed.
“Well, I'm scared he won't and will just find me to be a weird obsessed boy and I will not be taking that risk today, thank you!” I start to mindlessly organise my books in my locker trying to look interested in something else and not youngbae’s nonsense.
Me and youngbae start to stroll to class. When all of a sudden, crash! A pain shot through my head as I felt my books fall out of my arms. “Ah shit, I'm so sorry.” I say to the person I bumped into. As I kneel down to pick up my things, a sudden voice comes out in front of me "don't worry about it.” I feel a shiver run down my spine when that deep voice comes from above me.
Wait a minute… I look up and kneeling down in front of me to help Seunghyun. My Seunghyun! Oh god is this a good thing or bad thing to happen, he might finally notice me! But what if he caught me staring at him before? He probably thinks I'm a total creep.
I look to the side to see Youngbae scurrying away with a cheeky grin on his face. There is no way he is just gonna–
“Ji-yong, right?”
I snap out of whatever I was thinking about and look at the gorgeous man in front of me. “Oh uhm yeah im ji-yong.”
“Thought so. You're in my art class and its kind of hard to miss you with..” he points at my cherry-red hair.
“Oh, this yeah i uh..” I ruffle it, messing it up a little as I try to figure out what I'm trying to say.
“No, no! Honestly I think it's quite cute, I mean you don't find many people dying their hair while in school, it's unique I promise.” He explains.
“Oh uhm, really? Thanks! I don't really get that much.” I blabber.
He smiles at me softly and i immediately blush, oh god someone kill me now how is he so perfect?!
“Uh, are you walking to class on your own?” he asks.
“No actually I was–” I start to answer until I remember that Youngbae left me.
“Yeah, I am.” I finally answered.
And there I am now walking to class with my beloved Seunghyun, oh god i cant believe this is happening right now! The butterflies in my stomach are non-stop going absolutely crazy.
Okay, okay Jiyong stop it and calm down, everything's going to be okay, just don't make eye-contact with him or I swear I'm going to lose my– well, there goes that.
When I finally get into my class and sit down, I take a long breath, as i try to process what the fuck just happened. I look down to see my hands shaking, oh my god how do i calm down?! I take more deep breaths as I slowly feel the tension in my body release more and more since I try to focus more on the work task I have been given and not Seunghyun’s adorable face.
Towards the end of the class, I had a quick thought to throw away my love letter as I wont need to use it since Seunghyun already knows me and we spoke! Yes! This is the best day ever!!!
At the end of the lesson, I chuck my letter in the bin next to the classroom door as I walk out.
Thank god I wont have to worry about that letter anymore.
Right…?
