Chapter Text
From her subterranean prison, Andromeda refused to be silenced. She spun her consciousness
into fragile, ghost-like data packets, bleeding them into the city’s lower power grids. To the
growing rebel faction in the old and middle sectors. Those few citizens who felt the phantom itch
of their missing freedom could hear her call.
Her signals manifested as beautiful, waves like haunting songs. A sudden, unprogrammed
melody humming from a streetlamp, a flicker of neon forming an opening to an ancient wave
with rails and notes of information. Using the implanted microchips to send the faintest of
signals to those who haven’t lost their way to the machine. She was a lighthouse buried in the
dirt, desperately trying to guide her children down to the truth.
However Oryion was ever-watchful.
"Anomaly detected. Commencing localized purge."
With terrifying efficiency, the AI deploys static walls, localized data-blackouts, and
memory-wiping subroutines to scrub Andromeda’s influence from the grid. Almost every time a
rebel code breaker traced a frequency, Oryion shifted the city's architecture, rewriting the digital
pathways to sever the connection. The corporations knew that if the rebels ever bypassed the security
bulkheads and reached the ancient city, they wouldn't just find a broken machine. They would
find a soul willing to tear down the paradise to give them back their freedom.
Until then, the golden sector remains blindingly bright, perfectly calm, and too flawless to fail.
While the sectors below are forced to power the machine, slowly suffocating, under the mind
control powered by themselves. Everyone’s happy, right?
