Owen ran her fingers through Apo’s feathers, slowly finding the loose or broken ones and removing them. It probably would have been easier with sight, but he preferred the silence that the dream realm gave him.
It wasn’t completely silent, however. As Owen worked her way through preening the wings before her, Apo hummed a soft melody; something from her time alive. It filled the air and Owen found himself nodding along to it as he worked.
