Chapter Text
“I wish for one billion emeralds.”
And just like that, he received one billion emeralds. It was almost surprising, if froggy didn’t experience weirder shit every day. So he just accepted this and moved on, not without testing it a few more times like getting his own pet bear and killing a few nearby villagers. It was really funny, and he had his fill of testing this weird ass wishing fountain but then he had one more idea. Grox. Now he could make this challenge exceptionally easier if he could get Grox off him for the remainder of the challenge. He was well off now that he had a shit load of money. He might as well push his luck to see if he could get even better living conditions.
But how should he phrase his wish? Kill Grox? No. Then the villagers would have this big war over who should take power next and Froggy wasn’t trying to go through a civil war again. Become Grox? Hell nah. He’d rather lose the challenge than be that egotistical dictator. Plus, didn’t Grox have his own missions and things he needed to do? He didn’t want to replace his own tasks for the wither skeleton’s tasks, even if it did seem easier. But what should he wish for…
“I wish for Grox to only care about me.”
He said before tossing an emerald into the pond. That should do it. It was a wish that made enough sense. Grox would only care about Froggy and nobody else. Meaning Grox wouldn’t sabotage anymore. He might even be more willing to help now that Grox finally has a heart.
Nothing happened immediately but he just assumed the wish would work passively and benefit him later down the line and not in that very moment. So, he picked up Baby and went to buy a luxury penthouse for themselves.
The rest of his day was normal. He was rich, people were scared or admiring him, Froggy was just living his life as usual. He went to bed without much thought on the wish he made earlier that day.
In the morning, Froggy was awoken with loud banging at the front door. Baby had his shotgun on standby whilst Froggy checked the peephole. Grox’s guards, Bernard. That idiot that always called him ‘Bucko’ despite the numerous times they’ve interacted with each other. He should just ignore him but despite Froggy’s better judgement, he opened the door.
“Ah yes. Froggydude. Lord Grox would like to meet with you, at your earliest convenience of course. You and your, uh, son? Are formally invited to dine with his excellency.”
“What?” Froggy then remembered his wish from yesterday. Hell yeah. It worked. He felt on top of the world. Having ‘The amazing Grox’ ask for his presence like that. Froggy took notice of Bernard’s sudden politeness, Grox must’ve given specific orders to be nicer to Froggy.
“Sure I guess. Probably for lunch since me and Baby have some stuff we need to do.” He did plan to go shopping with Baby, but they could just handle it earlier than planned to accommodate their new schedule.
“Perfect. Lord Grox will be prepared.” Before Froggy could say anything else Bernard power-walked away and into the elevator.
“I didn’t even say a time,” Froggy said under his breath before sighing and closing the door. Baby was nearby and heard the entire interaction.
“Wow daddy, Grox must really want to see you.” He said in a teasing tone, putting his shotgun back into his inventory.
“Yeah well, let’s just hope it’s for the best.”
After getting fresh drip, Froggy and Baby went to Grox’s base to finally see what this lunch was about. They showed up when the sun was in the middle of the sky, thinking that was an appropriate time for lunch.
As soon as both him and Baby stepped within the barriers, more of his guards rushed over to escort them to the dining hall. Giving them both VIP treatment. It was a nice change of pace, especially compared to when he was a slave.
“Frog man! My man. My guy. My dude. How are you? How’s it been? How’s the kid?” Grox’s voice sounded uncharacteristically more enthusiastic, although he kept his usual vocabulary. He stood up from his seat at the table to greet Froggy.
“Hey…Grox, we’re both good. But why did you want to have us over?” Froggy pried
