Can you find me?

Summary:

Peter Parker knew for certain two things in his world. First off he was utterly alone. Second, no one knew who he was anymore at all. Sometimes he wished he had never had the spell cast but what was done, was done. One day he finds himself trapped, he has nowhere to go and all he sees are different versions of himself, some living the life he wished for and others not. In this mirror realm he finds someone, but not just anyone. He finds Y/N, they feel familiar to him, although strangely he can’t recall ever meeting them. Now he needs to find a way out of this mirror realm and help get Y/N out too, but not before he finds out how they got there in the first place.

This was inspired by a Tony Stark edit I saw on tiktok with Drag Path as the sound.

Notes:

Hi all! This is my first time writing a fic. This is probably going to be long and I have no idea how many chapters it will have as I'm kind of just going with the flow. That being said, if I misused any tags or I'm missing any please let me know so I can fix them. Thank you for choosing to read this. This is also set after NWH and I wrote this before seeing BND, so pretend BND didn't happen in this universe. Anyways, enjoy reading!

Peter Parker made everyone forget who he was. That’s been a thing for several years now. He just finished his Bachelors degree at ESU. Suddenly he finds himself no longer in New York, or on Earth anywhere. He seems to be able to see all other timelines and worlds, in this vast open space. He needs to figure out how he got here and how to get back to New York. Suddenly he sees someone in the distance. “Hello??” he yells. They don’t respond so he decides to get closer. Once he’s close enough he sees someone his age? What are they doing here??

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Peter Parker was just a normal person in New York now. Except no one remembered who he was. Maybe that was secretly a blessing in disguise for him because he got to live life how he wanted, except he had no friends and couldn’t be bothered to find new ones. He just wanted his old friends back. He felt utterly alone, sometimes he wished he hadn’t made Dr. Strange cast the spell for everyone to forget him.

But what’s done was done, he couldn’t go back and change the past. Today was one of the days where he wished he could change the outcome of the spell, he was thinking of what he would be doing right now if he hadn’t had the spell cast.

Would he be going on a date with MJ? Or would he be going over to Ned and his apartment to build LEGO’s together? Suddenly he tripped and then he was falling, and falling, and falling. When would he finally hit the ground??

Suddenly he met the ground with such force it knocked the wind out of him momentarily. He then got up and looked around. Suddenly he realized he wasn’t standing on anything, or at least anything he could see. Where even was he? He needed to figure that out first and then figure out how to get out. He looked around him as he tried to figure out where he was.

All he saw was…people? Lots of people, but they all were being separated from him by weird looking mirrors. As he got closer to one of the mirrors he saw that it was…him. It was him but not him? It was him fighting some villain he had never seen before.

He moved to the mirror next to the current one to see if it showed the same thing. It didn’t, this was a whole different world, he was fighting Thanos with Tony Stark and the rest of the Avengers in this one. The next one over was a world that was desolate and a New York City that had been leveled and destroyed, he seemed to be the only one left in the city.

He kept looking around and down the row of mirrors when suddenly he saw something, or was it a person? He couldn’t tell with how far away it was from him. He started to make his way towards the thing, trying to figure out what it was. Eventually he got close enough to be able to see it was a person. He started moving faster to get to them as they seemed to be moving away from him slowly, they looked almost like they were floating a few feet off the ground.

“Hey! Do you know where we are??” He asked.

“What?” they responded.

“Where are we??”

“Uh, how did you even get here?”

“I don’t know, I was walking home, tripped and fell, and suddenly I was here.”

“Oh. Well, do you remember what Earth or planet you came from?”

“No..? What do you mean Earth or planet?”

“I mean do you remember which version of your planet you came from?”

“Uh…”

“Nevermind. What’s your name?”

“Peter. What’s yours?”

“Y/N.”

“Oh ok. So where are we again?”

“Oh! You’re in the time realm.”

“The what?”

“The time realm! Basically it’s where you can see all of the different versions of yourself in alternate timelines if even the smallest events in your life had changed. Like if you were born a year later than you actually are, and so on.”

Peter took a minute to digest this fact.

“Wait so you’re saying I can see different versions of me? Living different lives?”

“Exactly. Although that’s not as fun as one might think. Anyways, I’m gonna ask some weird questions to see if I can figure out how you got here.”

“Ok?”

“Cool. So first, did you manipulate time at all recently? And by recently I mean the last 10 years.”

“Uh yeah, I did.”

“Ok. Did you happen to make people forget who you were?”

“Uhm, yeah. How did you guess that??”

“Lucky guess. Can I ask why you did that? And how big the spell was? And how many people it affected? I can’t help you get out of here until I know why and how big the spell was.”

“I did it because I was accidentally tearing a hole in the multiverse, and putting the people I cared about in danger by letting them remember me and my secret identity as Spider Man.”

“Ah, makes sense. I was in a similar situation years and years ago. It doesn’t matter now anymore though.”

“Oh well I’m sorry. Do you think you could help me get out of here?”

“Yeah of course! Let me just find your Earth and we’ll see what I can do.”

Peter was so glad he wasn’t alone here. He would’ve gone crazy if he’d been alone. Although this person here was being vague and avoiding certain topics. They felt familiar somehow though, they must be reminding him of Ned somehow, because he was certain he had never met this person before in his life. He needed to figure out how to get home though. He started walking further down past the mirrors to see if he could find his, although he wasn’t sure what he was looking for as they seemed to be showing vastly different parts of the life he remembered, and ones he didn’t.

“Finally! I found it!” Y/N yelled a little further down from him.

“Oh that’s great.” Peter said, rushing over to see what they were looking at. All it showed him in the mirror was himself looking at the mirror.

“This is just me looking at myself in the mirror.”

“Yes. That means we’ve found the right one.”

“So what are we supposed to do now?”

“Oh right. Now we need to rewind in your mirror and see where things went wrong. Usually people get sent here due to a mishap of the spell. Either it didn’t work fully, or it worked a little too well.”

“What do you mean ‘it worked a little too well’?? There are other people who get sent here too?”

“Well when someone casts the spell for everyone to forget who they are, you in this case, normally you would want it to be that the memories of you to be stored in the back of their minds, almost like they’re stored away in a filing cabinet and the drawer is just locked and they need to find the key in their mind. Usually they can find the key by having certain things like smells or touch trigger certain memories to come back, and once they start coming back they don’t stop until they regained all memories of you. Now where things go wrong is usually when the whole filing cabinet is gone because every single person forgets you, and to do that you need some powerful magic. Magic is a tricky thing too, it’s not something one can easily control, especially if they don’t know what they’re doing. So I think for you, the magic spiraled and it got out of control very quickly but neither you nor the witch who cast it realized it had spiraled. Which just means more work for me at the end of the day.”

“Oh, sorry.”

“It’s fine…what did you say your name was again?”

“Peter. Peter Parker.”

At that Y/N suddenly got pale and looked as if she had seen a ghost.

“I have to go really quick Peter. I’ll be back in a minute.”

Then Y/N jumped through a mirror and was gone.

Notes:

It's me again. Sorry this chapter is so short, I had this idea and wanted to get the ball rolling on it asap, but I promise future chapters will be longer. As for my posting schedule I'll try to post updates twice a week although I'm starting school up soon and I might be busy, but I can promise I will update at least once a week! Comments and kudos are always appreciated and I would love to hear your thoughts on how you think this story is going to go.
