Jimmy made a long sigh, fiddling with the hook on his black leather belt. His head is leaned against Mew’s shoulder, his legs dangling over the arm of the small green couch. “Babe, I’m bored!” Jimmy exclaims, kicking his feet as if he were throwing a tantrum. He flips his body over, making it so his chin is on Mew’s thigh. He looks up at him with puppy-dog eyes, letting out a low whine. Mew rolled his eyes, exhaling the breath he held in as he bounced his other knee. “Well, what do you wanna do?” Mew responds, glancing over at his boyfriend. He’s resting on his fist that’s supporting his head up, as he scrolls mindlessly through social media. “I dunno…” Jimmy groans, placing his head down. The both of them could hear Gollum chattering at some bird that was perched on the neighbor’s fence. It’s apparent that she isn’t bored.
“Now that I think about it…” Mew says, turning off his phone and putting it in his pocket, “I did somethin’ interesting when I was driving home yesterday.” Jimmy perked up with a raised brow. “I saw that they just opened a new roller skating rink near that Chick Fil A.” he continued, moving Jimmy off of him so that he could get up, “I think we should check it out.” Jimmy quickly stood up, swiping his hands down his ripped jeans. He feels his pockets, but begins to slap around his legs. “Wait, where are the car keys?...” he mumbles to himself, looking down. “Baby, I have ‘em.” Mew chuckles, holding out the keys and jingling them. He stood beside the doorway, opening the front door. “After you.” He said with a smug grin, extending his arm outside. Jimmy blinked at him in confusion, following Mew through the exit. “Bye Googy! Don’t be bad!” Jimmy called out, “Gollum, I better not find shredded stuffing on the floor!” Mew called out as well, before shutting the door and locking it.

Jimmy and Mew are sitting at a nearby table, watching the other people skate flawlessly—though some failed—through the rink. The loud clusters of music and conversations filled the entire building, with flashing neon lights to accompany it. “Do you need help?” Jimmy asked, moving closer towards him. Mew furrowed his brows, shaking his head in response. He lets out a few grunts of frustration, but eventually gets them on and ties them. Jimmy stands up, leaning on the table for support. “C’mere, take my hand.” Jimmy said with a small smile, handing his palm out. Mew trailed his gaze up and down, looking rather unamused. He silently grabbed his hand, and followed him to the rink. When they stood by the railing, they noticed how many people were actually in the rink. Suddenly, Mew’s grasp tightened on his wrist, causing Jimmy to look at him with a frown. “What’s the matter?” He tilted his head. “Just— Just, do I really gotta embarrass myself in front of all these strangers?” Mew murmured in a low tone, his other hand beginning to fiddle with the zipper of his jacket. Jimmy’s face fell flat. “Mew, we BOTH suck ass at skating. We’ll be embarrassing ourselves TOGETHER.” he replies, raising his hand to place it on his cheek, giving it a gentle caress, “Besides, nobody cares.” Mew pouted his lips, giving Jimmy a softened expression. “But, but, my nonchalant aura! It’d drop by like, one-hundred percent!!” Mew whined like that of a toddler. Jimmy scoffed at him, turning around just to ignore whatever excuse he was going to come up with next. He began to move like the people that seemed to be doing well, hoping Mew was at least attempting to follow his lead. Instead, Mew just clung onto his shoulders, letting himself go with the jagged flow Jimmy had.
After a while, Mew decided that he had to let go. “I cannot be hanging onto my five-foot-four boyfriend’s shoulders for dear life… That’s what losers do!” he thought to himself, finally releasing Jimmy from his grasp. He yelped, his feet sliding against the smooth wooden floor. He desperately tried not to fall, grabbing onto his knees as if they were life support. He looked around for Jimmy hastily, only to realize that he already disappeared off somewhere. Mew slowly, but surely, skid his way through the strangers that were zooming by him. He swore he could hear the wind whistling from them. He tilted his head up, only to find Jimmy standing alone huddled into a corner. “Oh THANK GOD!” Mew complained, awkwardly making his way towards his apparent saver. Jimmy could hear his name being called, so he checked with widened eyes. “Oh, are you getting— ” He was suddenly interrupted by a loud thump followed by a shouted curse. “Oh my god! Mew, honey! Are you okay?!” Jimmy gasped, bending down to grab his hand. Mew glared at him, feeling nothing but the urge to harm someone and the sharp pains that were stabbing his back. “I am. NEVER. Coming here. AGAIN.” he spat, scooting himself up against the wall with an irritated expression. “It’s part of the learning process, don’t give up so easily!” Jimmy sat against the wall too, patting his lover’s shoulder gently. “Oh, quit your bullshit, James; even the kids look like pros!” Mew muttered, pointing at a little girl that was passing by with a folding skater aid. He then crossed his arms. Jimmy tugged his lips, stroking his chin as if it’d help to come up with something. “Why is my self-proclaimed “nonchalant” partner acting like a little bitch?...”
“It sounds like to me you need a visit from “Dr. Wilson”…” Jimmy mumbles, a mischievous grin overtaking his face. “No. NO. That shit’s for at home, not in public.” Mew stuck his index finger up, his tone unusually stern. “Hmm… It seems to me that you are exhibiting symptoms of being-a-loser-itis…” Jimmy pushed up his round glasses, using his best impression of a professional, “I fear the only cure to this is to kiss the patient’s face repeatedly.” Mew could feel his eye twitching whilst Jimmy placed pecks all over the side of his cheek with giggles… Secretly he was fighting the smile that was beginning to crack his stoic. “Jimmy— Stop!—” Mew exclaimed, putting his large hand over Jimmy’s face. Jimmy peeked in between the gaps of his fingers, blinking at him in an innocent manner. “Did my cure work?” he questioned in a teasing tone, taking his hand to kiss the bottom of his palm. “Yes, yes it did. Now, quit it!” Mew grumbled under his breath, snatching his hand away. A small tint was beginning to appear on his attempt of an irritated face.
Jimmy squinted at him once again, “It’s obvious my cure didn’t work…” he contemplated internally. “What’s the deal with you acting like a grumpy old man?” he put his hands on his hips with knitted brows. “I’m not—” Mew scoffed, shaking his head with a chuckle laced with sarcasm, “I don’t know… I’m hungry, I guess?” he tilted his head away from him. “...That’d explain a lot. You’re just bitchin’ ‘cuz you’re hangry.” Jimmy retorted with a flat tone, pulling himself up with the nearby bar attached to the wall. Mew watched him, and did the same. “Should we go to that Chick Fil A next door? I’m pretty sure it’s still open.” He said, staying close to Jimmy as they made their way back to the exit of the rink. Jimmy took out his phone, turning it on and going onto Google. He muttered what he typed, then paused. “Yeah, it’s still open. Let’s go!” he answered, interlocking his fingers with Mew’s, as they headed towards the entrance.

The two of them munch on their french fries and burgers, pausing to either chat or to take a sip of their drink. They were only lit up by the light inside the car, and the street lamp they were nearby. Their seatbelts laid beside their hips. Jimmy paid attention to the sky getting increasingly dark, going from hues of orangish pink to now hardly noticeable dark blue. Mew reached into the white fast-food bag, only to tap around with a confused look. He turns his head towards Jimmy, who’s taking a big gulp of Diet Coke. “Can I have some of your fries?” Mew pointed at the greasy bag on Jimmy’s lap, giving him a charming grin. Jimmy looked towards him, his facial expression clearly not impressed. “No. You already ate all of yours.” He flatly replied, pinching onto a large fry. “It's not my fault you eat fast.” Jimmy waved the fry in front of him, before taking a chomp out of it. Mew responded with narrowed eyes. He was going to eat Jimmy’s delicious golden waffle fries, and he wasn’t going to take “no” for an answer.
Mew suddenly raised his hand up, wrapping his arm over Jimmy’s shoulder and pulling him close whilst he made a yawn. “Y’know… I create feelings in others that they themselves don’t understand.” he growled in a low tone, placing his other hand to hold Jimmy’s chin. Jimmy just rolled his eyes deeply, “I know you stole that line from Cars. I ain’t stupid.” Mew let out a loud exhale. “Babe! You’re supposed to be like “O.M.G.! Stop it, you!” and giggle a bunch!” Mew exasperated, using a higher tone of voice for his imitation as he flicked his hand. “Maybe I would do that if you were good at flirting…” Jimmy puckered his lips, “Too bad you’re not.” he finished with a sly smile. “Oh no, you don’t.” Mew, out of the blue, raised his index finger up, reaching in and grabbing his phone out of his pocket. Jimmy peeked over, Mew connecting his phone through its headphone jack adapter, going onto Spotify. He takes a minute to put on a song. The car suddenly begins to play “The Hills” by The Weeknd, the bass vibrating the car’s doors with the slight grunts in the intro. He places his phone down, and sets his gaze on Jimmy’s quickened breathing. He trails up, taking notice of his freckled cheeks progressively getting more flushed.
“Th-That’s nothing!” Jimmy stammers, swallowing the nervous lump in his throat. “You sure?” Mew replied, leaning his face closer, placing his hand on the side of his burning cheek. “You look awfully bothered by the song.” he purred, tucking his dark hair behind his bright red ear. Jimmy thinned his trembling bottom lip, to not show him biting it. He then opened his mouth to say something, but ended up keeping himself shut. Mew let his nose brush against his, feeling their piercings lightly graze each other. “Can… Are we allowed to do this?” Jimmy finally said in a quiet tone, watching as the intensity in Mew’s mismatched eyes flared, “What if someone sees us?” Mew hummed a little in contemplation. “Let them.” he muttered as he pressed his cocky grin against Jimmy’s lips. Jimmy quickly enveloped his mouth into his, his eyelids fluttering shut. He placed his hand on the side of Mew’s stomach, sliding its lingering touch up until he reached his nape. Mew let his hands wander, letting them trail towards his hips with a firm grip. The dark R&B song still played, the lyrics pleading them to give in to the tension.
Mew forced himself to pull away, doing his best to hide his panting. Jimmy placed himself onto Mew’s lap, straddling his hips with little force. Mew let his hands go lower, his fingers slipping under the thin threads of the ripped jeans. He looked up at his rather bold boyfriend, listening to the song fade into another intro. Jimmy repositioned his glasses. “I take back what I said about you being bad at flirting.” he tried to catch his ragged breath, a smile spreading across his face. A sudden knock on the window caused the both of them to jolt. Mew slowly let the window down, staring at the unknown worker with widened eyes as if he were a scared opossum. Jimmy, on the other hand, looked like a deer in headlights. “We’re closing. Get out of our parking lot, you horn-dogs.” The stranger pointed at the now dark building, the bothered tone clear in her voice. Jimmy practically fell into the driver’s seat as Mew unhandled him, beginning to start the car. “O-Oh, okay! Um— Thank you!” Jimmy quickly said, whilst Mew scrambled to turn off the sexual songs, before closing the window and speeding off toward his way home. Mew slowly turned and looked at him, his mouth agape. If he was being honest with himself, he was putting all the blame on Jimmy; it wasn't his fault he didn’t share.
“Do— Do you think—”
“Yes. She saw us, she heard us.”
“I… I don’t even know what to say… I’m having post-nut clarity without the nut…”
“It’s called shame, Mew. Which is ironic, considering you said you wanted “them” to watch.”
“I dunno, James! I was listening to my dick, not my brain!”
“It’s pretty obvious that your dick is bigger than your brain.”
“Hey, at least I have a big dick!”
“...Goddammit, I was trying to be sarcastic.”
