"Hey, bar’s closing." Sebastian leaned against the countertop, eyeing the drink in the stranger’s hand. "Whatcha got there?"
Jacob shrugged. "Nothin’ special. Gin."
"How many drinks have you had?"
"Too many to make any good decisions." Jacob smiled, flicking his gaze up to meet the pianist’s. "I’d offer to buy you one, but…"
"You flatter me. What’s your name?"
"Jacob. You?"
"Sebastian," he held his hand out to be shaken. "I own the place." His eyes widened slightly when Jacob planted a kiss on the back of his hand. "Ahm.. do you have a ride home?"
"Why? Wanna come with?" Jacob teased. "Kidding, kidding. Uh, how much do I need to…"
"It’s on me, don’t worry about it." Seb interrupted, almost a little too quickly. "But uh, the bar’s empty. You’ve been here for a while, right?.. I wouldn’t mind bringing you home if you needed. To— to your home."
"Aw," he frowned. "I got excited for a second."
Sebastian snickered. "You’re quite the charmer, huh? I’m sure the ladies love you here."
"I hope the men do too." Jacob traced the rim of his glass with his finger. Sebastian didn’t seem to react, much to his disappointment. "…Tell me about yourself."
"I own this bar. And it’s closing." Seb rested his head on his hand. He’d dealt with his fair share of drunk flirting patrons, but he never liked to indulge. He was quite afraid of taking advantage of anyone.
"Well I haven’t got a ride." Jacob took a small sip of his gin, using the time he held his head up as an excuse to study Sebastian’s features. He set the glass down and continued to stare. "…Your dimples are cute."
"Thank you. I used to be insecure about them."
"I see no reason to be. You’re pretty breathtaking, honestly." Jacob grinned.
Seb’s gaze flicked to Jacob’s mouth. "You’re rather handsome yourself."
"What’re you looking at?" The patron’s lips parted slightly. He could almost see Sebastian’s heart flutter.
"I.. Sorry. I can’t do eye contact," he fumbled for an excuse.
"That’s a shame. But I can get by it. Pretty hard to keep your eyes open with your mouth pressed against someone else’s."
"I beg your pardon?"
"..There’s no way you aren’t catching it," Jacob chuckled. "You know exactly what you’re doing."
"By.. standing here and asking you to leave?"
Jacob sighed. "Don’t make me spell it out for you."
Sebastian looked around the jazz bar despite knowing it was empty. "You’re drunk."
"I know."
"I don’t know if you really want… this."
"’This?’ Sweetheart, I want you."
"But you’re intoxicated."
"And..?"
"And I don’t know if I can trust that you would be acting the same in a right mind."
"I’m the last person to worry about making impulsive decisions, I promise. I’ve had my eyes on you all night."
"Then why didn’t you say something sooner?"
Jacob’s face flushed a little, though it was hard to see in the bar’s dim lighting. "I wanted to wait until we were alone. Are you— are you really not getting it?"
"I’m just… worried."
"What, do you want to sit and wait until I’m magically less drunk?"
"I could take you home and we could pick this back up when you aren’t."
"Boring," Jacob muttered. "Just… can I please kiss you?"
"I… don’t know."
"Do you want me to kiss you?"
"Well, I mean.. yeah. But you’re drunk and I don’t want you to regret it or—" Sebastian was rudely cut off as Jacob grabbed him by the tie and leaned over the counter, putting his mouth on Seb’s. It was brief— by the time he could process it Jacob had already pulled back— but it certainly happened.
"So?" The corners of Jacob’s lips curled into a smile.
"…So?" Seb repeated. He pressed his tongue on the sharp of his canine tooth and looked away as he thought.
"You tell me." Jacob sat back down. "I mean, you want another? Can only give you so many samples until you finally order the damn thing."
"You do this often?”
"Kiss people? Sorta. Usually it’s buy someone a drink, talk to them for a bit, and take them home. One night kinda thing. Usually it’s less looking for someone to say ‘I love you’ and more looking for someone to wake up next to and move on."
"So this doesn’t really mean anything, then?"
"Do you want it to? .. ‘Cause I’m certainly not opposed to seeing your pretty face every day."
Sebastian hesitantly nodded. "..Yeah. I don’t just.. I don’t just kiss people for the hell of it."
"Okay. I respect that."
"I.. how do I know you aren’t lying?"
"You ask a lot of questions. But, you know, I understand. I will say uhm.. don’t really know how to prove that I’m not lying to you. I can… kiss you harder?"
"I don’t think that really amounts to.."
"Oh come on, that was so obviously me asking to kiss you! You really don’t do this often." Jacob laughed. "A nice change of pace, though."
"You want to kiss me again?" Seb perked up slightly.
"Can I?"
"…Sure." He fidgeted with his tie. Much to his surprise, Jacob stood and pushed his stool in, walking behind the bar and standing in front of him.
"How hard can I kiss you, then?"
Seb blanked. "I.. however hard you want."
"…I’m asking how hard you want me to kiss you. Like, pin against the wall kind of stuff?"
"I am.. too sober for this." Sebastian grabbed the remainder of Jacob’s drink and downed it with a slight wince. "Uhm," he wiped his mouth. "Yeah. That’s— I’d like that."
Jacob snickered. "Anything I should not do?"
"Why are you so concerned?" Seb asked. "But, no, I’m okay with whatever. Thank you though."
"Meh. Consent’s important. And I’m supposed to be the one kissing you, so I think it’s only valid to make sure you enjoy it as much as possible."
"…That’s hot as fuck, I have to admit."
"I try." Jacob grinned, putting a hand on Sebastian’s shoulder and planting a gentle kiss on his jaw before drifting to close the gap between their lips once again.
Sebastian couldn’t help but smile as he felt Jacob’s arms wrap around him. He let one hand rest tangled in the other man’s hair and the other climb up his torso and grip Jacob’s shoulder as he felt him melt into him.
Their uncoordinated footsteps almost brought them to the ground as Jacob attempted to drive Sebastian into the wall, cueing a laugh from both of them. Much to Jacob’s amusement, Seb’s knees weakened and he held on tighter so as not to fall.
"You okay?" Jacob muttered, breath intertwined with Seb’s.
"Yeah," The pianist nodded slightly before pulling Jacob closer, excitement spiking through his chest as the other man grunted into the kiss. Jacob tasted like gin, which was fitting for how intoxicating he was when he pressed himself against Seb’s body.
The world seemed to stop spinning. Jacob didn’t usually let himself get romantically involved with people— it was usually straight to the point— but it felt good. Different, unfamiliar, but good. Seb was a pretty good kisser, too.
As reluctant as he was, Sebastian was the first to pull away. He turned his head, to which Jacob promptly dropped his hands back to his sides and stepped back.
"Are you okay?" Jacob panted. "Too much?"
Sebastian shook his head. "I’m good. You’re fine. Just… need a sec."
"Sure," Jacob tightened his tie and brushed his suit jacket off as Seb collected himself.
"So.. you still open on that offer from earlier?" Sebastian regulated his breath.
"What offer?"
"…Coming home with me?"
Jacob couldn’t help the smile that crept onto his face. "You’re starting to make me think you might actually want me."
"Who said I didn’t?" Seb smirked.
"Ooh, quick wit," Jacob replied. "But.. uhm, I can’t exactly drive myself home."
"I could still give you a ride if you needed—"
Jacob waved a hand dismissively. "No, no. I’d love to spend the night with you, if that’s alright."
"Absolutely, yes." Sebastian nodded.
Jacob put a hand on Seb’s shoulder. "You know, I’d usually be the one to invite you over. What kind of power do you have?"
Sebastian shrugged. "You’re the one who kissed me in the first place."
"True," Jacob frowned. "Alright, let’s get outta here, yeah?"
