Work Text:
THIS FIRST PART IS ABOUT “EUROPE1AM”.
We are going to start with the very first point: the story consists and is set mainly in the continent EUROPE, and it’s respective countries. The main plot is that in the search for peace towards it’s residents, the clumsiness and ignorance of their own makes them EXPLODE the Sun. As generations go by, it’s species have evoluted to not need the sun and heavy light anymore. Therefore, the moon and stars light are perfectly enough for them. Hence the name “1am.” But has peace been achieved? No one knows the answer. Every other plot and drama inside of it depends of one or more specified characters to exist, so I won’t list every thing that happens as they don’t necessarily interfere in the general story, and if they do it’s minimal.
Their current geography, science and history is perfectly similar / equal to ours. The time in this universe works by being late of TEN YEARS. If we are in 2026, it is 2016 for them, as an example. This rule only was ever settled down because of their Earth, “technically”, no longer having any movement, so this affects nothing to outsiders or themselves. It is intended to be dumb and to mock senseless goverment decisions.
Some of the characters have counterparts that reside in other countries, however, this depends on either it’s a historical and geographical counterpart or an emotional one that shares similarities with said being, which usually changes how every of their relationship works. In most cases, both sides ARE NOT aware they are counterparts, with very fex exceptions.
“Technical Families” are all bound by choice, which means it is not necessary having a “same blood” to your children, parents or siblings. An example for this is BACKEN, RUPRECHT and KARTOFFEL’S relationship. (“Austro-Hungary” for Backen and Ruprecht as the parents, and “Croatia” for Kartoffel, as the child. Franc would count too, as “Slovenia”, but due he being Kartoffel’s clone, it works slightly differently.) No one of them is related to Kartoffel at all, but they choose to take care of them once Kartoffel is their friend and they have a huge feeling of care for them. This does not affects what we’d we know as normal families.
Some of the only known and observed species in this universe are CAT AND DOGS, and more generally, FELINES AND CANINES. There can be hybrids between them. Traits are inherited from family, but if the child is going to be born a hybrid, traits have bigger chances of being “random”. The third and only existing species are a robotic copy of the previous other two, which are necessary for working in public transportation and railway stations. These are noticeable taller than the others and also have a bigger resistance to basically everything. They are super fast, but have less agility once it’s not about running.
Every critter in this universe has some sort of magic. Some more, some less. Each type of magic power depends solely on someone’s physical and mental capacity, so people that are weaker will obviously not gain stronger powers, as it would be much harder to mantain them in a healthy way. However, if someone for some reason gets stronger with time, so will their magic, and also the opposite. “Glittery Stardust” or “Magic Stardust” is one of the most common ones, which can cause rashes and burns, be used as a remedy for muscle pain or as a hard drug or get turned into cloth. The most uncommon being radioactive powers.
“Given Objects” are objects gifted to a few characters that allow them to be used in their own favor. What does this means? The Superposition box, which is an object that was gifted to 743 and Kartoffelsasha, helps them understand themselves better, in this case, by sorting multiple outcomes that once the box opens, their true meanings will be revealed. The box usually affects their surroundings and dreams, not necessarily in negative ways, it depends on the critter’s current mind state. The objects are gifted by divine beings and can be anything, but must be magical in some way.
These are all the basics for this universe. Every other thing is either linked to one specific character or story moment, so therefore they aren’t a global rule. Many things are up to be contraditory or either senseless in a way, but I promise that it helps in making other stuff easier to understand. At some point in the future, I will probably write pieces of lore about each character.
This universe has a few spaces with different structures. We'll learn about them in the future. What we have read until now is all about the "mainlands."
