Work Text:

You had received a little card that was shoved underneath the small gap under your door outside of your bedroom, you sighed and picked up the card. You could fill the glittery texture underneath your fingertips, the feeling felt grainy and uncomfortable. This had Splits written all over it, only she (and probably Eka) used this much glitter on a small card. You gently opened the card making sure to not shake off some glitter and worth getting into another argument with Mabel—It would probably be about how you need to make sure that you quit making messes for others to clean up. She always yelled about things being clean—I guess you could respect that, mainly because the Funhouse should stay clean for the children (Or lack there of.) Your eyes landed on the first word of the card and began to read.

“Heya Reader! Soooo I was wondering if you would want to meet me at this secret hill I found. I’ll bring treats! Brownies, cookies, you name it (if that helps.. hehehehe) meet me later today by the bar and then I’ll show you where the secret spot is! (I'm pretty sure you know where that is) See you soon!!!” – From Splits.

Huh.

That was definitely written by Splits.

You looked down at the card looking at the glitter spots, one huge one was in the corner of the card, she might’ve spilled the pink glitter by accident and probably freaked out. You shrugged, you decided to go. You didn’t have anything better to do—and if it meant not crossing paths with Margo for one day—you would take that offer in a heartbeat. You opened the door of your bedroom and exited, making sure not to be too loud and waking up another pal. You padded down the hall and up the stairs. Splits was already up, a small picnic basket was in front of her, she began to fill the small, straw basket up with small brownie bites and little sugar cookies made by herself (also with Manny’s help—just to work the oven.) the sugar cookies were topped with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles. She finished stuffing the already full basket with two sandwiches.

She let out a content sigh, (the fact that you were just watching her and not saying anything was quite odd—hopefully she wouldn’t ask how long you were standing there.) she turned her head over to you, catching your gaze. A small smile grew on her face, her buck teeth on full display. She bounced over towards you and gave you a hugeeeee hug, she wrapped her arms around your mid section resting her head against your chest,

“I’m so glad you came!” she said, tilting her head up to look at your eyes from where she was—which was tucked underneath your chin.

“I assumed you wouldn’t come.” she pouted slightly,

“I probably would’ve invited Anton if you didn’t.” She said and pulled away from the hug and walked over to her basket–she attempted to pick it up:

“oof!” was the sound she let out, the basket was very heavy.

“Goodness, I might’ve packed too much.” She said while setting back down the straw basket back down on a chair close by

“Phew, Would it be fine if you carried it, Reader?” She asked with a tilt of her head.

“Yea, it's fine.” You responded, rubbing the back of your neck.

“YAY” She squealed and immediately slapped her hand over her mouth, “Let’s get going!” She said with a little giggle, she watched you pick up the basket and followed close behind her as she led the way skipping outside. You two had walked for what felt like forever (mainly because you were carrying an extra twenty pounds.) Once you two made it up the hill she grabbed the basket from your grasp and sat down the basket on the floor as she searched inside of the basket for a blanket.

“Where is it?” She muttered underneath her breath.

“ah-HA!” She said and pulled out a white and red checkered blanket, the stitches were visible–probably her own handwork.

She laid down the blanket and took a seat on top, she pulled the straw basket closer to her, she noticed that you were still standing awkwardly. She smiled and patted a spot next to her and watched you take a seat, your posture was somewhat hunched and so she subconsciously mimicked you. She stared down at the open basket and dug into it once more, she pulled out a small plate of brownies wrapped with plastic so they wouldn’t fall out.

She took a brownie from the plastic and held it to your mouth,

“Something sweet, just like you!” she said and gently poked your cheek

“Open wideeee!” She said, trying to coax you to comply and take a bite of the brownies she worked so hard on.

You ended up taking a small bite out of the brownie—it was good, who knew she was so good at baking. She smiled again,

“Hehehe..”

“Is it good?” she asked, leaning her head and pressing her forehead against yours.

“Awwwhhh!! Now I wanna take a bite.” She pouted and took a bite from your brownie, the one she had just given you seconds ago!

“SPLITS!” You said while trying to shove her away, but it was too late. It was already out of your grasp and now in her mouth.

“Yum!”

“Why did you do that?” You muttered, you were staring at her like she just kicked your puppy, as soon as she saw your frown she frowned too and immediately dug into the straw bag and shoved another brownie into your mouth

“Sorrryyyy” she muttered and rested her head on your shoulder while watching you take bites from the brownie. She had a small decorated sugar cookie in her grasp. She would take small bites, she sighed softly, looking at the grass that would blow against the gentle wind. Once Splits finished her sugar cookie she pulled her head away

“Can I do something…. Stupid?” She asked, her tone was somewhat serious, leaning closer. Your noses brushed against each other.

“I-..I.. Yea.” You said fast, too fast (goddamn it) now you look desperate.

She didn’t comment on the stutter or how fast your words left your mouth, she leaned closer allowing your shared breaths to mingle with one another, her one visible eye locked onto yours as she leaned close, Nose’s accidentally bumped against each other.

“Oops” she whispered as she finally closed the tiny gap in between you two. The kiss was messy at first as she was trying to ‘learn’ how to kiss properly as this carried on. She ended up getting the hang of it and gently cupped your face while leaning into the kiss—for you? You immediately kissed back, sloppy in your own–dorky way.

You two would break from the kiss every couple of seconds but immediately leaned back in for more. The whole world to you two was just background noise at this point. The straw basket?—forgotten. The small noises of nature?—wasn’t even a thing. The only focus was on you two, like you two were the last people on earth.

Splits broke the kiss and began to trail kisses down your neck and paused.

“I-..Is this… Okay?” she said, her voice muffled due to her head being nuzzled into your neck.

You gulped,

“Yeah…” you muttered out quietly, voice shaky from the affection you were being given at the moment.

She took a deep breath–which made you shiver–she continued on kissing your neck like it was the only thing she wanted to do. She practically drank up all of your whimpers and gasps when her lips brushed over a sensitive spot on your neck. She pulled away from your neck, her cheeks flushed.

“W-..Wow!” She stuttered out, her hands rested on your shoulders. She leaned in and pressed a kiss to your forehead.

“You think we should get going?” She asked quietly, pressing her forehead against yours.

You couldn’t find your voice just yet (Mainly because you were just smothered with affection) you just nodded in response as you watched her get up. You followed her up as you watched her start to gather everything from the forgotten picnic, the blanket was messed up slightly (another small tear reopened) but she tucked it into the bag and grabbed your hand—lacing her fingers with yours.

“Let's get going!” She smiled softly, her previous flushed look had ‘melted’ away and just left a barely noticeable blush resting on her cheeks.
