Work Text:
i have a friend. a friend who loves me, just as i love her, id assume.
lets call her... "aiya".
i dont remember her name. i only know her voice, eyes, hair... maybe everything but her name.
aiya and me were very good friends. we were opposites, but stuck close together. we met in 2nd grade, where i was on the school swings. she said hi, almost instantly talking loudly. i didnt like it a first, but i slowly got attached. her voice was like candy; i wanted more of it. thats how i remembered her voice.
in 5th grade, she started to look at me more, like a dove. her eyes were shiny and a dark brown, it was very soothing to my dull hazel eyes, it wasnt such an eyesore, unlike the other students. she was always so happy, and interested at my eyes, even though hers looked much better. thats how i remember her eyes.
in 9th grade, i was more... open, to say for the least. i was interested at aiyas dirty blonde hair that still blew beautifully. she was my sunshine, my bliss, and my god. i wondered why no boy was looking at her yet. maybe they only cared for body types, though. thats how i remembered her hair.
in 11th grade, she died in a car crash. she had a note while i cried for her. im in 12th, now, and this mesage still haunts me. i cant see her name correctly, as its covered in blood, but she wrote this.
"dear, ----
i love you!
i know youre a bit oblivious, so ill make the first move, youre beautiful, with your black hair, hazel eyes, and blunt voice. our friendship may be more than just friendship. i want to be your girlfriend. weve been friends for long, and one day ill be your spouse!!
-ari"
we never found that day, did we?
its all because of my stupidity..
ill never forgive myself.
...i got a sister, yesterday.
and we are... neutral, to say the least.
shes about a year older than me, but acts like shes 10. just like her...
her eyes, her hair, even her laughter reminded me of her.
ill never forget, wont i?
