Work Text:
The warp tower was complete one day later, with Morganite designing the tower. Pink watched as the last parts of the planet be taken by the gems, and with that, her colony was fully complete. She watched it, watched as every little part that wasn't already taken be taken. At first, she just stares, not knowing how to react. She'd finally done the thing she was begging and crying for for thousands of years. Then, she cried, tears pouring out. Her pearl attempted to comfort her but failed. When Pink looked at her pearl, the lower gem realizes that she's crying happily. Pink takes out the Direct Diamond Communicator, getting every other gem to leave the room before contacting Yellow Diamond.
"Yes? Ah, Pink Diamond." Yellow Pearl answers, smiling when she realizes who's calling.
"Yes, it's me. Can you get Yellow's attention, please?"
"Of course." Yellow Pearl nods, walking off to get Yellow.
Pink hears whispers from the two, unable to properly hear what they're talking about. It isn't even a minute before Yellow grabs the communicator, setting it beside her.
"What do you want, Pink?" She asks rudely, not even looking at Pink.
"Well, my colony...it's..."
"It's what? You're already wasting my time, Pink."
"My colony's complete! That's what it is!" Pink yells out, hoping to get Yellow's approval.
Pink shuts her eyes, waiting for Yellow to yell or disregard what she said.
"Is that so?" Yellow asks, her tone filled with surprise.
Pink looks at Yellow, equally as surprised.
"Yes. It's complete. Every inch of the planet is a part of my colony."
Yellow's eyes widen, leaning down to whisper to her pearl. Yellow Pearl nods at whatever she was told, jumping down from Yellow's seat.
"Well...this is not the news I was expecting to get..."
"I know. Could you maybe tell Blue, I don't she'll answer her communicator."
Yellow's expression changes for just a second, and goes back to normal. But Pink notices, she looked distressed when she mentioned Blue.
"You'll have to tell her yourself." Yellow rubs her temple, looking Pink directly in the eye.
"Why can't you do it? Blue always listens to what you says."
Yellow sighs, leaning back against her seat.
"We're both busy, Pink."
"I know you are. You always are, Yellow." Pink crosses her arms, annoyed by the same excuse used by Yellow.
"Besides, I don't believe Blue is interested in speaking to me at the moment."
"Wait, why?" Pink blinks, beyond confused.
Since when was Blue not interested in speaking to Yellow? The two were on good terms and never seemed to have any negative interactions. Pink herself watched them talk together. Yellow doesn't answer immediately, choosing to focus on her console
"Yellow, answer the question!"
"It's for personal reasons, Pink! Just go tell her yourself."
Pink sighs tiredly. There's no way to get Yellow to budge, she knew from experience.
"Fine. I'll tell Blue for you." Pink rolls her eyes, ready to end the call.
"Good. I'll meet you both in the Homeworld Center."
The transmission shuts off before Pink can reply, making her more annoyed. Pink put the Diamond Communicator away, walking to where the rest of her gems are, minus the amethyst. She contacts at ship piloted by a Nephrite under her, informing her of something important.
"Pearl?" She enters a room, yelling.
"My Diamond, I'm here...with the other gems." Pearl yells back, leading Pink to a corner of the room.
Pearl walks over to Pink, standing by her side.
"Listen, I'm going back to Homeworld. You'll all be brought there by a Nephrite soon, okay?"
The gems all nod, not moving from the corner. Pink takes that and turns to leave, exiting the room alongside Pearl. "Send a progress report to Yellow, okay?" "Right away, my Diamond." Pearl walks to the panel, doing the task swiftly.
Pearl finishes it, the two now heading to the warp zone. They warp back to Homeworld, heading for Blue Diamond's room upon arrival. It's a short walk, they pass by a few groups of quartz soldiers before reaching her room. The guards move out of the way, allowing the two to enter. Pink quickly finds Blue, bathing in her onsen.
"Stay with Blue's pearl, okay?"
"Understood, my Di-"
"Blue!" Pink dashes towards her, knocking Pearl over.
"Hm? Ah, Pink." Blue sits up, smiling when she sees the littlest Diamond.
Pink leaps up onto the edge of the pool. Blue notices her stern expression, abandoning her assumptions of Pink's usual antics.
"Is something the matter?"
"No....Yes...Not exactly?"
Blue blinks, unsure of Pink's response.
"My colony is complete, that's what I want to say! Also Yellow sent me here because apparently you don't want to talk to her."
"When did I ever say that...?" Blue adjusts her wet hair, beyond confused now.
"I don't know, that's what she said."
"Mm." Blue hums, leaning back against her pool.
Pink sits down beside her, kicking her feet in the water. Blue giggles at her, enjoying the times when they can just relax.
"You know what?"
"What?"
"I think that this is a good time..."
"A good time for what, Blue?" Pink raises an eyebrow, nervous for what she could be talking about.
"To start Era 2. I believe this is a good point."
Pink's eyes shine, her pupils changing to that of stars. Blue giggles again at her, Pink never failing to make her laugh.
"Although, we'll have to discuss it with White." Blue's mood shifts, now just as nervous as Pink just was.
White Diamond. The egomaniacal, terrifying leader of the entirety of Homeworld. She didn't listen to anyone, not even the other Diamonds. It would be borderline impossible to even get a few words out, let alone speak to her about her finished colony.
"Do you think she'll listen...?" Pink asks despite having a good idea of the answer would be.
"No, probably not. She doesn't even bother speaking to us." Blue shakes her head, sinking a bit into the water.
"We've got to try, don't we?"
"I suppose so."
Pink looks over, seeing the two pearls just standing there.
--
Pearl couldn't help but feel awkward beside Blue Pearl. She felt almost out of place in the room they were in.
"Well, this will be quite interesting, won't it?" Pearl chuckles, trying to start some small talk.
"Yes, quite interesting." Blue replies with a completely deadpan tone.
Well, that went horribly.
--
"Come now, Pink." Blue steps out of the pool, shaking the water off of herself.
"Where to?" Pink jumps down, landing beside the pearls.
"The Homeworld Center. I'm sure Yellow's already there waiting for us."
Pink nods, following behind Blue. The pearls keep up with their respective Diamond.
They quickly warped to the Homeworld Center, noticing that Yellow as already there waiting for them. When the two approached Yellow, she almost immediately noticed them.
"Ah, Pink. And Blue." Yellow smiles faintly, it disappearing as quickly as it came.
"Yep, we're here." Pink smiles widely at Yellow, trying to keep a positive mood.
The three Diamonds all look up, gazing up at White Diamond's room. There were two big White Topazes guarding the door, keeping out any other gem.
"So, whose going?" Yellow pinches the bridge of her nose, ripping the band aid off.
They all looks amongst each other, waiting for one of them to step up. This goes on a while and it starts to annoy Pink.
"My goodness, I'll do it!"
"What?! Why would you want to do it?" Blue gasps, kneeling down to Pink.
"It's my colony. And I'm the reason you want to start Era 2."
"Blue, why didn't you tell me this?" Yellow stands behind Blue, angered by her ignorance.
"I was going to, Yellow." Blue scoffs, speaking in similar tone to Yellow.
Pink starts walking up the stairs leading to White's room when something appears in front of her, making her fall down the flight of stairs.
"Ah!"
Pink opens her eyes slowly, her eyes locking onto a familiar face.
"Well, isn't this terribly comedic?" Pink Pearl(?) says with a smile, her color completely drained.
"M...My pearl!" Pink jumps back, horrified at the sight in front of here.
"Your pearl? I gave you a new pearl. This one isn't yours anymore, Pink." White Pearl mocks, keeping her eerie smile.
Pink clenches her hands into fists, annoyed by White's ignorance.
"I need to talk to you, White. Not my old pearl, you." Pink stands her ground, glaring down at her pervious pearl.
White Pearl doesn't talk. Pink couldn't tell if White was considering or ignoring her. It isn't another second before she's contained in a bubble, taken into White's room.
"Wait...!" Blue starts to run after her, but a hand on her shoulder stops her.
"Blue, leave her." Yellow shakes her head, looking up at Pink.
"But what about-"
"She's choosing to do this. If she gets harmed, it is her own problem."
Yellow takes Blue's hand, intertwining their hands. Blue's expression softens, looking down at their coupled hands.
"Just stay here, Blue..." Yellow damn near begs her, her vulnerability shining through.
She looks back at Pink, scared for how White could react. But she couldn't not listen to Yellow, just as Yellow did the same.
"Alright..."
--
Pink falls onto the floor when the bubble pops. White Pearl floats out of the room, phasing out from the walls. When Pink stands up, she hears it. Her voice.
"Pink..."
She whips her head around, tilting her neck as much as she can to look at her. White Diamond.
"You've certainly caused quite a scene, haven't you?"
"White, I-"
"As for this latest little game of yours, I'm sure that it's over now. There's no need to continue your tyranny, Pink."
"T...Tyranny?!"
"But of course, what else do you cause?"
Pink looks down at the floor, feeling her buried anger growing.
"There's nothing you need to say, Pink. You've got nothing of value to tell me, even when you get everything you desire."
"I-"
White raises her finger, shushing Pink. Her cold, dead gaze piercing into Pink.
"You're. Nothing. But. A. Failure." White's voice echoes throughout the room, cementing her words in Pink's head.
"N.....No....." Pink croaks out, feeling tears falling down from her face.
"Hm? Still down playing your behavior?" White mocks her, widening her eerie smile.
"No! I'm not a failure! I completed my colony, even when you all abused and disregarded me!" Pink looks back up at White, breaking down. "Even when you said if I ever got one I'd fail, but I haven't!"
White pauses, looking down at Pink almost with surprise. Pink waits, waits for her to ignore what she just said and kick her out. To mock her into another breakdown. But nothing.
"That's impossible." White maintains her wide stance, her smile twitching a bit.
"It isn't! Just ask Yellow or Blue!"
White snaps her finger, Yellow and Blue warping into her room. They both jump when they realize what's happening, scared of what White could do.
"Tell me, is Pink's colony actually complete? Or is it another one of her elaborate lies?"
Yellow brings up a hologram, looking at the progress report sent by Pink's new pearl.
"Yes. It's 100% complete, White."
The silence is loud. She didn't laugh or act as her egotistical self, she was being quiet. White quickly adjusts her expression, putting it back to it's cold, empty state. The other Diamonds await her response.
"Very well. I suppose we'll have to accept this." White sighs, clearly annoyed by the news.
"White, may I add something?"
She stares down at Blue, making her shrink a little.
"I suggest that we have a ball. Specifically for the arrival of Era 2."
"Era 2..." White repeats, her smile returning.
"That's right! Me and Yellow will set up the party for Pink!"
White sighs, still just gazing down at Blue. The other Diamond looks at Yellow and Pink, seeing if they understand White's reaction, or lack there of.
"Very well. Get to it."
"Right! We-"
The Diamonds are warped out of the room, sent back to the Homeworld Center.
"Oh..." Blue sighs, rubbing her face.
"Let's go, Blue." Yellow turns around, facing another warp zone.
"Hm?"
"We need our pearls to organize the ball." Yellow starts to walk away from them.
"Right..." Blue nods, follow Yellow.
"Wait! What can I do to help?" Pink rushes after them, stopping the other Diamonds.
"You don't need to do anything, Pink. You wouldn't want to upset White..." Blue shakes her head, her eyes flickering between Pink and White's room.
Pink doesn't argue. She simply nods and stands still, watching as the Diamonds warp away. She soon warps to the Ball Room, already seeing her own gems there.
"I see you've all arrived.." Pink approaches from behind, bringing their attention to her.
"What is the place, my Diamond...?" Cinnabar asks, nervously observing her new surroundings.
"Allow me to explain." Pearl cuts in, projecting a hologram from her gem.
"I-"
"The Ball Room is a place for celebrations. Whether it be for a Diamond's accomplishments or in this case, the arrival of a new era, most of the important gems come here to celebrate and commemorate the Great Diamond Authority. They dance, sing, and preform for their Diamonds, even the elites participate in the performance."
The room goes quiet. Cinnabar just stares in confusion at Pearl's explanation. The rubies scoff at her long winded sentence. Pink just stands there, not saying anything or moving a muscle.
"What...?" Pearl looks around, taking note of everyone's reaction.
"Maybe you could explain in a simpler way?" Cinnabar smiles cheekily, scratching the back of her head.
"S..Simpler? Was my explanation not easy to understand?" Pearl feels her face get flushed from embarrassment.
"Not really..."
Everyone starts laughing, to the confusion of Pearl. Meanwhile, Blue and Yellow Diamond are both speaking to their pearls about the ball.
"Make sure that everything is correct." Yellow paces around as her pearl writes everything down. "This is not just any normal ball, this is the beginning of Era 2."
"Of course, my Diamond." Yellow Pearl nods, making sure she's written everything.
"Good, that'll be all."
Yellow Pearl takes her leave, with Yellow Diamond still standing her room. She feels like she should go see her. But why?
- -
"You go ahead, okay? I have something to do." Blue Diamond kneels down to her pearl.
"Understood, my Diamond." Blue Pearl smiles a bit, walking out of the room.
Blue Diamond walks over to her own desk, contacting someone. When the transmission comes through, she's met with Holly Blue Agate.
"My elegant Diamond!" Holly Blue gasps, doing the Diamond gesture.
"Agate, I want you bring all the quartz soldiers you can. We're having a ball in a few hours and I want gems to help setting it up."
"Right away, my Diamond!" Holly Blue nods, smiling widely at her.
The transmission ends. Blue sighs, feeling tired. She hoped that something good would come out of today. Anything at all.
Yellow couldn't ignore it now. She'd been doing so good to ignore these foolish feelings, but now she couldn't. Yellow walked out of her room, paying no mind to any gem that stared at her. She didn't even acknowledge the guards standing outside of her room. Her footsteps weren't subtle, alerting Blue when she entered.
"Yellow!"
She keeps walking, looking angry from Blue's perspective.
"What are you so mad about no-"
Hands grab the side of her face, pulling her closer. Blue feels herself falling back, but a hand keeps her from falling completely. She felt lips pressing against her own, enveloping her in an unknown feeling, but that didn't matter. She reciprocated almost immediately, her hands gripping Yellow's shoulders. The kiss lasted longer then it should've, but this was an apology. It was full of sorry, for every time Yellow ignored or dismissed Blue's obvious feelings, and for pushing her away when they got too close. Pulling back made them both feel empty, but they needed to.
"Y....Yellow..." Blue whispered, pupils dilated.
Yellow stared down at her, her face feeling incredibly hot. She couldn't believe that they'd just done that.
"I........" She couldn't find the words, the words to say what she felt.
"I can't believe it took you this long..." Blue starts to cry, but not due to sadness this time, as she pulls Yellow into another kiss.
Yellow kisses her back, the words she couldn't say speaking through their pressed lips. It was intoxicating, and neither could pull away, kissing like they needed one another to continue living. Pulling back again, they were both panting softly, resting their foreheads on each other.
"Blue....we should go..." Yellow wheezes, breath taken from their second kiss.
"Not yet. Not after you've essentially confessed to me, Yellow." Blue giggles as she wipes her tears, her hands rubbing Yellow's shoulders.
"What?'' Yellow leans back, getting more flustered.
"We've both known for thousands of years, Yellow. It took you this long to act on it." Blue moves her hand to Yellow's cheek, feeling her warm face.
Yellow doesn't argue against her, just looking away. Blue brings her gaze back onto her, her warm smile melting away her fears.
"Yellow, you don't have to hide your feelings. Embrace your gem placement." Blue taps Yellow's gem, making Yellow more flushed.
"But...my role as-"
"I know. But that doesn't mean you can't show your emotions." Blue reassures, kissing Yellow's forehead softly.
Yellow flinches, this feeling unknown to her. The soft touches from Blue, her sincere voice, it felt so odd to Yellow.
"What...What are we doing?" Yellow steps back from Blue.
"Yellow, please don't start denying yourself aga-"
"It's not that, Blue. But this...changes everything about...us."
The two fall into a pregnant pause, both now taking in the what they've just done. This would change so much, and with White's ideals of sticking to her status quo, their relationship couldn't happen. But now, neither could deny it, not after kissing more than twice. They couldn't not be together at this point, but at the same time;
"We'd have to be careful." Blue sighs, leaning back on her desk.
"What?"
"If White were to find us out, she'd probably punish us as much as Pink's pervious pearl."
Yellow nods in agreement. knowing that scenario was very likely to happen.
"Then...what do we do?" She asks nervously, her vulnerable side starting to take over.
"We'll figure it out, Yellow. After the ball, we can talk about it." Blue takes Yellow's hand, attempting to sooth her anxiety.
Yellow can only nod, intertwining her and Blue's hands.
"Alright... Let's hope our pearls have gotten a head start in the preparations."
"Set those balloons over there! Don't use that color! Hang those streamers properly!"
Yellow Pearl was yelling at the quartz soldiers, ordering them on every little detail of the decorations. Blue Pearl watched her boss them around, enjoying her bluntness.
"Keep the color scheme consistent!"
"Are you just going to yell at them the entire time, Yellow?" Blue laughs at her, drawing her yelling at the quartzes.
"If they can't use their brains, then probably." Yellow chuckles, kneeling down to Blue Pearl.
"Mhm, well, you look very nice when you're annoyed."
Yellow Pearl gets startled by the compliment, to the amusement of Blue Pearl.
"You've gotten much better at expressing yourself, Blue." Yellow sits down beside her, smiling warmly.
"I've been working on myself, as you have, Yellow." Blue smiles back to Yellow, resting her hands on the floor.
"Yeah, and I like that about us." Yellow Pearl laughs softly, laying her hand over Blue's.
Their hands stay together for only a few seconds, with Blue moving her hand away.
"We can't hold hands in front of the quartzes..." Blue's smile falters, looking around to make sure no one noticed.
"Oh...right, sorry." Yellow holds her own hands, not embarrassed.
"No no, don't be."
The two pearls both laugh at each other, forgetting the world surrounding them. Yellow's eyes lay on Blue's face, while covered, she was beautiful in her eyes. The moment is ruined however, as a loud noise startles the two. They immediately noticed an amethyst, who'd broken a glass decoration.
"Sorry!" She yells out, laughter echoes throughout the ballroom.
"These quartzes..." Yellow Pearl mutters, annoyed.
Blue giggles at her reaction.
The other gems were starting pile in. Yellow Pearl took it upon herself to organize them for when the Diamonds arrived, while Blue Pearl continued with the decorations.
"Jades, go over there! And make sure you're with a jade similar to yourself!" She points somewhere, leading the gems to one side of the room.
"Quartzes of all kinds, go there! Agates will stand in front of the every other quartz." Yellow points elsewhere, the soldiers marching behind their superiors.
"Rubies and Sapphires will stand together! Garnets, you're by yourselves. Emeralds and Nephrites will all be together!" The three groups of gems all walk into a corner, standing in a small group compared to other gems.
"Aquamarines, hold the curtains for when the Diamonds arrive!" The smalls blue gems fly up, holding the edges of the curtains.
Blue Pearl walks over to Yellow, just finishing with some balloons.
"Are all the gems accounted for?"
"I think so. The soldiers are all here. The elites are also here. The only gems that aren't are the Lapis Lazuli's, but those gems are never at the balls." Yellow counts each group, jotting down every one on her hologram.
"It would be nice if they did come, wouldn't it?"
"I suppose so. But you know how they are, always terraforming." Yellow scoffs softly, glancing over at Blue with a smirk.
Blue laughs, getting a laugh out of Yellow as well. They both look at the crowd, looking at all the different gems.
"I suppose we should get backstage, shouldn't we?"
"Yeah, come on." Yellow giggles, pulling Blue by her hand.
The pearls rush behind the curtains, already seeing a couple of Peridots testing the lights and sound.
"Everything running smoothly?" Yellow leans over, looking at the Peridot's screen.
"Yes. I've already got everything tested and it should run just as intended." She replies snarkily, not even looking back at Yellow Pearl.
"Sounds good." She doesn't mind, walking past her with Blue.
The two stop behind the curtains, where they'll present their Diamonds to the rest of Homeworld. They stand there for about 10 minutes, both beginning to notice something. Where were their Diamonds?
"They should've been here by now." Yellow says with a hint of worry to Blue.
"There's no need to worry, Yellow. Maybe they're just doing tasks before coming here." Blue puts her hand on Yellow's shoulder, trying to comfort her.
"You sure? This is the Era 2 ball! Why wouldn't they be he-"
"Pearl!"
The two jump at the loud voice, realizing that Yellow Diamond had arrived.
"My Diamond! It is wonderful to see you!"
"Mm. Where's Pink?"
"We do not know, Yellow Diamond." Blue shrugs, looking around herself.
"Well, when you find her, tell her to come backstage." Yellow sighs tiredly, already walking away.
"Understood, my Diamond!" Yellow Pearl yells, watching as Yellow Diamond passes a corner.
Blue walks off somewhere, seemingly looking for something.
"Blue, don't wander off." Yellow follows her, stopping her with a hand on Blue's shoulder.
'I'm checking for Pink Diamond."
"She'll be here eventually. No need to-"
Yellow looks past Blue, noticing something. It was Pink Diamond's pearl, just standing there.
"I see her pearl, come on." Yellow says quickly, dragging Blue with her.
They stop just a few millimeters from Pearl, who notices the other two. She smiles at them, the gesture not reciprocated.
"Is Pink Diamond here? We're going to be starting in 20 minutes."
"Yes, she's just helping to put her ruby guards and Cinnabar into the groups." Pearl nods, pointing to the other side of the ballroom.
"Right. Please tell her to come backstage when she's done, okay?"
"I will."
Yellow rushes away, again dragging Blue. They stop behind the curtain, with Blue Diamond now entering.
"Hello, pearls." Blue smiles warmly, kneeling down to them.
"Hello, my Diamond."
"I'm guessing that Yellow and Pink are already here?" Blue Diamond looks around, seeing if she can find the others.
"Yes, they are." Yellow Pearl nods up at Blue Diamond.
"Wonderful, now let's hope White will join us this time..." Blue Diamond stands up, walking to where Yellow went.
"Let's hope..." Yellow Pearl mutters nervously, looking over at something.
After only a few seconds, Pink Diamond walks over to the pearls, smiling down at them.
"Are Yellow and Blue here?"
"Yes, they're over there." Blue nods, pointing to where they went.
"Alright!" She rushes past them, joining the other two Diamonds.
Yellow and Blue Pearl continue to stand behind the curtain. They eventually hear footsteps approaching, looking to see a Peridot running towards them.
"We're starting! Get ready to present the Diamonds!" She screams, waving her arms around frantically.
"Alright, calm yourself down..." Yellow nods, waving her hand towards the taller gem.
"Whatever, just prepare yourselves!" She scoffs, running off.
The Diamonds all walk back, standing behind their pearls. Blue Pearl walks out first, standing tall in front of all the Homeworld Gems.
"Everyone, prepare yourselves emotionally, for the overpowering elegance of Blue Diamond."
The curtains pull back, revealing Blue Diamond. Her and her pearl waltz down the aisle, making a few of the jades shed tears as Blue Diamond passes by them. Blue Diamond sits down on her throne, with Blue Pearl standing on the edge of it. Yellow Pearl steps out next, smirking at all the other gems.
"Behold everyone! The daunting beauty and prestige of Yellow Diamond!"
The curtains raise again, revealing Yellow Diamond to rest of the gems. Yellow and her pearl march down the aisle, the quartz soldiers looking up at Yellow in awe. She also takes her place on her throne, her pearl sitting beside her. It was Pearl who entered third, smiling but her expression looked blank.
"Everyone, please applaud for Pink Diamond!"
Pink enters, waving at the gems. They all applaud and cheer, basking in Pink Diamond's presence. Pink and her pearl walk down the aisle, continuing to smile and wave. Pink sits at her tiny throne, with her pearl able to stand beside her throne with no issue.
But there was one thing that the gems were all collectively asking; Would White Diamond attend the ball? No one knew.
"Oh...It seems that White still doesn't consider us-" Blue starts to weep but gets interrupted.
A noise stops her. bringing her attention to the curtains. What was it?
The curtains rise once more, revealing someone they hadn't expected.
"Well, it seems this ball was organized quite well, hm?" White looks around, her wide eyes gazing down at the gems.
"White!" Blue exclaims, standing up.
"Blue, sit. No need to be so surprised." White takes very slow steps towards her throne, gesturing for Blue to sit.
She walks up the large stairs, stopping in front of her huge throne. The Diamond Authority were all here.
"Before we begin, I'd like to say a few words."
The gems lock their gaze onto White, awaiting her speech.
"Since we began Era 1, we Diamonds reformed from our original physical forms to our current ones. With the beginning of Era 2, we will do this yet again."
White lifts her hands.
"Rise, Diamonds."
Yellow and Blue stand up, ready to reform. Pink doesn't however. Her form hadn't changed since her creation, and even when the Diamonds reformed, Pink wasn't allowed to. She wasn't given the right to, as she wasn't 'worthy'. She didn't stand, she'd sit and watch the others reform.
"Pink, stand up." White's voice cuts through her thoughts
Pink's eyes widen, shocked by White's statement.
"What...?"
"You've proven your worth to us by completing a colony, so you may reform with us."
Pink stands up slowly, standing in front of the Diamonds. They inhale sharply, their physical forms beginning to glow. The gems all watch the Diamond's reform, their glowing bodies morphing into different shapes and blobs. White was the first to fully reform, her cape now a map of the galaxy and outfit more royal looking. Yellow was second, her outfit changing completely. She had more commanding outfit, looking more like an army general. Blue was third, her dress filled with gem symbols and writings and it was longer. Pink took the longest, making the gems more and more intrigued about how she'd appear. After another minute, she was done. Her skirt was longer, she looked less like a clown and more like a little princess, matching the royal looks of the others.
"Era 2 has arrived." White announces, the gems cheering loudly.
Pink looks down at her new form, spinning while holding her longer skirt. She'd also felt slightly taller, but was still tiny compared the others. The Diamonds all sat back down on their thrones, which gets the gems to begin the dancing. The jades all started, dancing with another jade. Their movements were in sync with one another, bringing good entertainment to the Diamonds. Every other gem all danced with their own groups, keeping in line with the steps. While the Diamonds watched the gems dance and do tricks, Yellow and Blue Pearl were behind their thrones, enjoying each others company.
"Era 2...Isn't that crazy?" Yellow whispers to Blue, holding her in her arms.
"Yeah, I never would've expected it to come so soon after Pink Diamond's colony." Blue responds, holding Yellow's hand in her own.
Yellow laughs softly, kissing Blue's forehead.
"We've changed so much..."
"Mhm, we have."
"You know, I used to think that us changing was a bad thing...but now, I see that it's a good thing." Yellow looks up at the ceiling, her tone softening a bit.
Blue kisses Yellow's hand, bringing her focus onto her.
"Let's just focus on the present, not the past."
Yellow breaths out a laugh, leaning down to kiss Blue. It was sensual, but that was just fine for them.
"I love you, Blue." Yellow leans on the other pearls head, lovestruck by her.
Blue pulls her back into the kiss, the two fusing into Emerald. The fusion falls back, leaning against White Diamond's throne. She walks between the throne of Blue and White, watching the gems dance.
"Woah...." She let out a sigh, amazed by the beautiful dancing.
She stood up, trying to replicate their movements. Emerald stumbles a bit, not used to dancing. She eventually gets the hang of it, dancing as elegantly as the Jades. She holds her own hands, feeling the love of Yellow and Blue Pearl flowing within her movements. Emerald spun herself around, unfusing.
Yellow opened her eyes, realizing that she was leaning back. Blue was holding her up, standing above her.
"You look beautiful like this." Blue pulls her up, making Yellow embarrassed.
"Can we....fuse again into Emerald?"
"Sure, my dear." Blue nods, kissing Yellow's cheek.
They hug, fusing back into Emerald. The fusion sits down, continuing to watch the gems dance. It was nice. Her four arms wrapped around herself, ensnaring herself into a hug.
Era 2 was definitely going to be interesting.
