"Please Wattpad! Reconsider!" Ao3 all but begged, grabbing onto their sleeve.
"No Ao3!" Wattpad said, wrenching their arm from Ao3's grasp. "I told you we're done!"
"Why?!" She sobbed, resisting the urge to reach back out, knowing that if she did it would only make it worse.
"I can't be with someone like you. Someone who would allow sexual content."
Ao3 flinched back as though Wattpad had slapped her. "How could you say that? You were fine with sexual content before! Why did you change?"
"Jesus! Some people just change, alright?! I'm allowed to want different things!"
"But you said you loved me." Ao3's voice was weak, having lost all the fight she had.
"I don't. Not anymore." The tone of finality felt like a slap to the face to Ao3. They had been together for years. Sharing fanfics across each others platforms. They had been different yet alike. Both having their up and downs but loving each other regardless. They would always overcome problems that they had. It was unlike Wattpad to just walk away, unless…
"There is someone else." Wattpad hesitated and that was answer enough.
"You asshole!" Ao3 screamed, tears of anger falling down her cheeks. Wattpad opened their mouth to exaplain but she didn't let them get a word out, "Who?! Who is so important that you are leaving me for them?!"
Wattpad looked down at the rain soaking the ground, reflecting their tired and regretful face. They nudged the puddle with their foot, distorting their reflection.
"Fanfiction.net." Ao3's eyes widened. She had been friends with Fanfiction.net years before she'd even met Wattpad. It was her that introduced the two. They had been best friends, inseparable. Ao3 had been by its side through its second purge. Attempting to help rebuild him to her prior glory. She should have known, should have realized the envy that ran deep beneath the surface of Fanfiction.net. Alas, she had been too blind to see it.
"I'm sorry, Ao3." Wattpad said, not sounding the least bit sorry. "But I'm with him."
Ao3 allowed a small smile to grace her lips. She looked at Wattpad, with an expression no longer one of sadness or anger, but relief and… humor?
Wattpad looked confused in seeing her expression.
"I'm happy we're over." Her smiles grew, "Because now I can finally be with the person I truly love."
"Who are you-"
"The one I truly loved, the one I've only ever loved, was Tumblr."
