Work Text:
Taylor and Dustin were strolling around the park one day when they noticed a lady in a dark dress wearing a lace veil on her head and a golden mask on her face, looking at the sky and pondering her existence in this world.
What on earth is she doing here? thought Dustin as he and Taylor went down on the bench she was sitting on.
"Uh, hi. I'm Dustin and this is my girlfriend, Taylor. What's your name?"
The woman gazed at the two lovers and pointed at herself. "Cenobia."
"That's a nice name," noted Taylor. "Do you have any secrets you'd like to share?"
"Not really," said Cenobia, "but I do have one worth telling you. It's my first one, though."
Taylor and Dustin looked at her with eager eyes.
"I once threw an entire beer bottle at someone, and they got so mad, they punched me in the face."
"Ooh," whispered Taylor, grimacing at her new friend's story. "That's gotta hurt."
"I know."
Dustin gasped at the revelation as it reminded him of a similar experience he had. "I got into fights a lot, but I didn't start them."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah. I got beaten up sometimes."
