Chapter 1: Little box of dreams.

Chapter Text

In a motel room, two friends argued.

One seemed more calmer and just replying, the other throwing things and yelling.

“I know you will hardly understand this, and I will try to explain.” The calmer one said, a smile on his face. A deep angry huff was heard, as the other who was crouching down, slowly turned. His breathing sounding ragged and heavy, he looked at the taller one for a moment, pure annoyance filling his eyes, slight hatred too. He desperately tried collecting his temper, despite trying to calm down. “explain..?” He fully turned, standing up right. He placed his hands in his jacket, staring at the blond.

“Oh, okay! Then, go ahead and try!”

He pulled a cigarette and lighter out, placing the cigarette in his mouth.

“I have met a lady.”

Chives felt his entire heart stop, staring at Glam. “Ah so you've been with someone, while I WORK for both of US?” There was a hint of venom in the word us, he felt emotions bubbling under him, rage, hate, annoyance, sadness- No, upset? Desperately he tried to not allow his throat to choke up.

“No, nothing's happened yet.” Glam turned his gaze away from Chives, that smile still on his face.

Chives felt a breath of relief escape him, just a crush.. “Okay, so on the first date. You suddenly decide to-”

“No, the date hasn't happened either!”

Chives watched, his ears starting to blur out some words, he felt like everything was shaking. His entire world view shattering, He missed half the words Glam was saying, before he finally caught something.

“But she's amazing..”

He felt his finger twitching, he almost dropped the lighter, almost. Catching it before it could fall. And even as he saw Glam keep talking, the blond never looked at him, never batted an eye at him.

Something about keys? The cigarette fell from his mouth, he didn't bother catching it.

“Oh…I understand..” he lifted his arms, an annoyed false smile showing.

He felt so much irritation, so much. Finally, Glam looked right at him, Chives' heart sped up slightly, those blue eyes staring at his soul.

“Oh, I'm so-”

“YOU'RE NUTS!” And then it was his turn to blurt out words, he didn't even pay attention to what he was saying. Why now did Glam show an interest in a girl, why now?

Why.

“You missed our first audition?!”

“Yes.”

“Now, you're gonna miss the second one?!”

“Yes.”

Finally a nerve was hit. “ALL BECAUSE OF SOME LOADED BIMBO?!”

And that was the only moment, Glam's facial expression shifted. Looking annoyed at the brunette. “Never call her that.”

Perhaps, he could've stopped there and he should've, but the need to just have his friend’s attention on him.

“Oh, he doesn't like it! Loaded bimbo, loaded bimbo-”

Smack.

He fell onto the bed.

Chives stared for a moment, his gaze on the wall, before he brought a hand up to his face. There was a hot stinging feeling, he didn't say anything for a minute. He could even hear what sounded like Glam flinching slightly at what he did.

“Sorry, you made me do it..”

He turned back, Glam stared at his own hand and back at Chives, his eyelids slightly closed, a frown on his face still.

He looked annoyed. Chives felt his eye twitch, an ache spread around his chest, sadness? Hurt?..Ya, definitely hurt. He had never thought Glam would smack him, He never assumed Glam even had it in him.

Then he spoke, eyes full of hate. “Mutual.”

He got up, pushing past the blond, desperately trying to walk away, to stop what felt like tears getting ready to come down his face.

“Chives..”

Chives froze, feeling his hands shaking. A small sniffle escaping him.

‘Don’t cry.’ He thought to himself. ‘Don't cry, don't be pathetic, not in front of him..' He took a breath, replying. “I’m leaving this dump, with or without you.” Then, he walked off.

He opened the side van door, throwing his bag in, spotting an old speaker and guitar case. It greeted him like a ghost, and perhaps it was. It was so..Simpler then, God, he give anything to go back. Before this, before the drugs, before….He took a deep breath, throwing his bag in the back, before something caught his eyes, he blinked at it.

It was a small triangle shaped box, the colors of cream like white and dark red were on it. Tilting his head, he grabbed it. Before he gently shook it, placing his ear near the box, something was in it..He turned it around studying it. He almost expected it to just explode from how he was looking at it. Finally, he decided to read what it was.

One Wish Willow.

Amaze Your Friends!

1.99%!

When did he buy this? He didn't remember getting this. He thought for a moment, before remembering.

They were supposed to sponsor a shop a while back, guess he forgot it was in his bag? He groaned, great, a fucking gag gift. He would've kicked himself, if he hadn't been already upset right now.

He closed the van door, before going to the front seat and sitting down, staring at the box.

He sat there in silence at it, not really sure why he still had it. He should've just thrown it away, it was probably just a scam, none of this actually worked. Even if it did, he would've already become famous by now. He felt another sniffle, taking a deep breath again.

He opened it, why? Why did he open it? Was he desperate to just..Get it out? Get something off his chest? He heard a little jingle play, soft lullaby before it warped and slowed, then stopped.

“Must be a wish bone…” He chuckled, God, he hated how pathetic he felt. Holding the item that wouldn't even work, a part of him just hoped that maybe, just maybe breaking it would help him feel better. That saying it out loud, would help him just get his mind off it.

Maybe that was the point of it? Probably, it could be a new years thing too. He looked at the little toy in his hands, the details were really good. Whoever painted it did a fantastic job, it didn't even feel heavy either.

Finally words left his throat, as he finally just broke it.

“I wish…I wish Glam loved me, more than anything…Anyone in the whole world..”

Snap.

Well, saying out loud did help and breaking it did take his mind off what happened. He gave a chuckle, feeling a tear fall down his face.

“God, what the fuck am I doing?..” He placed the broken toy in the box and placed it in the back somewhere.

He slid his keys into the ignition, before starting up the van.

The van started to act up, and he gave a sigh, “Come on panther.. Don't do this.” He begged the van, as if he could even talk to it. He leaned back, closing his eyes. “You old rusty..”

“Chives?”

He jumped immediately, before turning his gaze to where his name was called.

Glam.

Glam was staring at him, tilting his head, a soft smile on his face. Chives blinked, staring back, he hadn't heard him? He assumed he probably wasn't paying attention to notice, but something about how he was looking at him felt…off..

They stood there for several seconds, then finally Glam spoke. “I…..Changed..Changed my mind!” Chives just stared, Glam didn't usually change his mind this fast on something.

“I…what?” Chives stutters, really unsure if he was daydreaming or going insane. “The audition, silly!”

“You changed your mind, that fast?”

“Yes.”

“And about the..?”

“Victoria? I was confused, sorry, just a small misstep on my part!”

“......Okay….”

This felt really weird, something felt so wrong about this…The way Glam was speaking, just didn't sit right with him.

He then noticed Glam opening the door, and getting in, catching Chives off guard. “Whoa, whoa, hey! What the hell is going on? Is everything okay??” Chives asked, putting a hand on Glam’s shoulder to stop him. Concern nipped at Chives’ chest, something was wrong, something felt very wrong about this. And he did not like it, one bit.

Glam looked at his hand, before grabbing it and moving it. “I just…Took a moment and realized that..It was wrong for me..To snap at you like that.” Glam frowned, before managing to sit in the passenger seat.

Chives looked away, “No..No, it’s my fault, I was being an asshole. Especially with the loaded bimbo comment..” He leaned back in his seat, did Glam really change his mind? Was he pitying him? “You don't have to go, if you don't want to.” Chives said, looking over. Glam kept his gaze on him still, not taking his eyes off.

Chives felt his face redden at just how much Glam was staring. He never stared at him this long, nor with how those eyes bore into his soul. “..Are you sure, you're feeling okay dude? You're acting-”

“I’m FINE.” Glam finally spoke, “Besides, I don't think I have any more money to stay at the motel..So you have to take me.”

Chives frowned, as much as he liked to disagree, Glam was correct. Glam probably wouldn't have enough money to stay by himself, he couldn't just leave his friend to be homeless, especially if something was going on?

With a deep sigh, Chives started the van again, finally it started up. “Fine, but we're taking you to the doctor.”

The van drove away from the motel, driving further and further away.

A set of bike keys laid in a trash can, outside of the entrance.
