  Summary

Fanworks from Magi's inaugural year, 2004.

The Gift of the Magi, an Oz-specific Secret Santa story exchange originally accepted requests from "[a]nyone who is a fan of the show," and in turn, the founder & mod maverick4oz would post submitted fills anonymously, then later reveal both wishers and storytellers, on New Year's Eve. This first year was 100-1500 word count fiction only.

Maverick set the rules, a close version of what we currently use: "If you agree to author a story, then I need your promise that you'll do your best to honor your commitment. Your story is your gift. And if you submit a story request, then I ask that you take the time to read and feedback the stories written. That's your gift to the writers."
