Work Text:
The harpy had never felt confident enough to show his mating dance to anyone of his own species, but the siren prince wouldn't know if his form was off. Safe from prying eyes in their secluded cave grotto didn't help Luke's nerves.
One wing covered his chest, the other fanned out over his head as he focused on his foot work, hopping and twirling to show off his vitality. Of course a proper mating dance involves eye contact with one's prospective mate. Luke tried not to flinch as he met the siren's eyes, feeling less like the hunter he was, and more like the prey he should have caught before it convinced him to put himself on display to be ogled.
Luke was no bird of paradise, but Percy thought the neutral toned stripes and scalloped patterns in his feathers looked more beautiful than any set of scales he'd ever seen.
The harpy had enough of being gawked at. Percy smiled as Luke lowered his wings back to their resting position, flushed red and breathing heavy
“I accept.” Percy said, crawling onto dry land, “How should we start?”
“Excuse me?” this fucking fish man would be the death of him.
