Work Text:
The chaos of the party slowly fades, leaving behind the quiet, post-celebration hum of the Austin & Ally Music Factory. tinsel glints under the dimming lights, and the heavy scent of pine needles lingers in the warm Miami air. It feels almost impossible, yet Dez actually pulled it off—he tracking down that little girl’s dad and somehow got him home just in time for Christmas Eve.
Austin stares at his best friend with a mix of awe and something much deeper, watching Dez sit slumped against the sofa, completely wiped out.
Reaching into his jacket, Austin pulls out a small, carefully wrapped package: a handcrafted wooden model airplane, a silent nod to Dez’s grand, improbable rescue mission. Dez blinks through his exhaustion as Austin hands it over. He unties the string with trembling fingers, a slow, radiant smile spreading across his face as he recognizes the gesture.
Without saying a word, Dez leans in, pressing a soft, lingering kiss against Austin’s lips—warm, gentle, and utterly natural.
Before Austin can even process the quiet thrill racing through his chest, Dez’s eyes flutter shut. The happy, utterly spent teenager slumps sideways, resting his heavy head directly in Austin’s lap, breathing out a contented sigh as he immediately drifts off to sleep. Austin smiles, resting a hand gently in Dez’s hair, content to just sit together in the quiet magic of Christmas Eve.
