Chapter Text
Sora jolts awake, covered in sweat, breathing hard like he ran a hundred miles.
The first thing he notices when his eyes focus, is that he's wrapped in blankets, and Riku laying next to him, holding him tightly and breathing hard, nuzzling his face into Sora's neck.
"R-Riku?" He asks sleepily, rubbing his eyes with the palm of his hand. "What are you doing here?"
Riku responds by hugging Sora tighter and making a muffled noise. it sounds like a mix of a purr, and a grumble.
Sora blinks a couple times and looks at Riku, Riku's back is glowing slightly, like there's a pink light beneath his shirt where his skin should be. Sora carefully puts his hand on Riku's back, slowly caressing the glowing spot, a blush slowly creeping on his cheeks by how close Riku is right now.
Riku shivers at the feeling of his back being touched, making the same noise he made earlier again, definitely a purr, Sora thinks, blushing harder.
Riku looks up at Sora, eyes glowing a light pink with heart shaped pupils. He smiles lightly at Sora when he sees Sora's eyes.
"Hey." Riku mumbles.
"Hi?" Sora responds sleepily, taking his hand from Riku's back and nestling it into Riku's hair. "Did you... 'Eat' my nightmare? 'Cuz I remember you showing up, and then after that, I was floating in space with a bright golden light glowing in front of me."
Riku nods, a faint pink growing on his face. "Yeah... I felt the link pull like a rope on my neck, and I could feel you were in danger, so I rushed to your house. Luckily your parents are on a trip. You really gotta lock the door before you go to bed though, haha."
Sora laughs and rubs his neck at the last bit. "Yeah, I keep forgetting. Luckily it was just you, and if it wasn't, they would've heard me talking in my sleep, and ran for the hills, because I say some really weird things, hahaha." Riku smiles and nuzzles closer into Sora's side.
"You're cute when you sleep, it's like looking at a sleeping dog, you curl into a ball around your pillow, I actually was panicking because I thought you weren't breathing." Riku muffles into Sora's side, giggling.
Sora's eyes widen for a moment, then soften, an affectionate smile spreading on his face as he hugs Riku, tangling their legs together and snaking his hands onto Riku's back, caressing the glowing spot. Riku purrs again and nuzzles his cheek on Sora's neck. Causing Sora to blush deeper, as he and Riku are lulled to sleep by the sounds of each other's breathing.
