Chapter Text

Tim knew the exact moment he fucked up. He also knew the exact moment he was thankful that he had way too much time on his hands as a little kid, and therefore spent his time learning whatever language he could. Now the moment he knew he fucked up was when he head Red Hood- Jason todd, his brother who had tried to kill him, yell out in fear for Tim.

“Robin!” Jason yelled out.

That was the last thing Tim heard before being body checked into a wall, a wall that wasn’t a wall but the concrete floor of a- training building? This was not where Tim was, in fact knowing his own luck this wasn’t even close to Gotham.

The next exact moment he knew he was thankful for learning a multitude of languages is when he found a homeless looking man speaking Japanese. It took a few moments for the world to stop spinning from being slammed into a wall/floor, and for his brain to remember how to speak or even understand Japanese.

“Do you, uh, mind repeating that. Also sorry if my Japanese is shit, it’s been a few years.” Tim groans.

Tim looked around, yep definitely in some sort of training facility. That didn’t exactly explain why he was surrounded by children wearing some very interesting costumes. Not that he could exactly judge, after all his vigilante older brother did have the Discowing suit. Which Tim tried to shiver too hard at the thought of. Wait, was he just called a villain? That one was new. He's been called all kinds of things but nothing so, cheesy.

“I honestly don’t know where I am but seeing as we are speaking Japanese probably somewhere in Japan. To add to that, I’d assume that considering I’m in a training facility surrounded by brightly colored children, this is some sort of meta training place.” Tim explained, ignoring the surprised looks he was getting.”

The man then spoke, “Who are you?”

“Depends on who’s asking,” he replies, shrugging his shoulders, as he stands up.

The man stepped in front of his students? “Eraserhead, pro hero.” The man growls.

Holy shit, now that was a dumb name. Wait, what the fuck was a pro hero? Those definitely did not exist, which meant-he sighed- alternate universe. Again. But if they are heroes then they should be safe? Well safer than rogues at least.

“Robin, vigilante.” Tim finally decides on.

“So you’re a villain!” Yells a spikey haired blonde.

“Villian? No, a vigilante, those are pretty different things.” Tim shook his head.

“Anyone who does illegal things is a villain." A blue haired kid doing some sort of karate chop motion spoke.

That pissed Tim off. Now, Tim grew up very well off, but that doesn’t mean he was stupid. Hell, following Batman and Robin makes you see a lot. Especially with the work Red Hood is doing in crime alley, those people, kids, were just trying to survive. “So a starving child who steals some food is a villain?”

The blue haired boy reels back slightly before speaking again. “They should have gone to the proper authorities to get help instead of resulting to petty theft.”

Tim bristled. “Are you that fucking dumb!” He yelled, not feeling bad about his anger being targeted towards a child. Never mind the fact these kids were probably the same age as him.

Eraserhead stepped forward. “I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t yell at my students.” The man then pulled the scarf around his neck, it shot out trying to wrap around Tim.

Tim jumped back, and out of the way of the scarf. “And I’d appreciate it if you didn’t attack me,” Tim snarked back. Tim didn’t want to engage in a fight with these people. Not only was he severely outnumbered, by a bunch of most likely meta children, but he also definitely had bruised ribs, possibly fractured.

“I protect my students first, and you,” the scarf whipped towards him again, “are a threat.”

“I don’t want to fight!” Tim yelped as he dodged the scarf again.
“Then surrender.” Eraserhead said calmly.
“I’m not going to do that either!” Tim replied.

Just then Tim felt a presence behind him, he quickly ducked, and the scarf wrapped around whatever was behind him. Seeing that he couldn’t see what was in the scarf before the person was released, he assumed it was an invisible meta. Did this man really just sick his colorful children on him?

The spikey blonde from earlier launched himself towards Tim, explosions crackling from his palms. That wasn’t sketchy at all.

“Fuck, fine!” Tim grabbed out his Bo staff, and promptly swung at the kid coming towards him. He hit the back of the kid’s knee, causing him to fall into the ground, Tim didn’t want to hurt them.

A frog girl tried to lick him? Or wrap him in her tongue, Tim grabbed out a citric candy and placed it on her tongue, which swiftly made the tongue retract. “I don’t want to hurt you.” Tim yelled out to the crowd. “I’m not here to hurt you, I don’t even know how I got here.” Okay that was a partial lie, he knew it was some sort of portal, but that wasn’t the point.

Tim shot his grapple gun up to the rafters, he retracted the line, quickly getting on top of the ceiling beams. He stifled a yelp from the strong stab of pain in his ribs, caused by the sudden movement. Not one to take any chances, he dropped two smoke bombs down. With their vision obscured for now Tim quickly, but quietly crept along the beams heading over to where there was an observation booth.

Perfect, there was a computer, several TVs showing a live feed of the battle ground below. Tim could work with this. He took out a USB stick and stuck it into the computer, quickly launching a code that gave him access to the entire system. Thank you Babs for helping him with that. Tim knew he only had about 30 more seconds before someone would realize where he was.

So like anyone else in his situation, he opened up Google. Fuck, there wasn’t even a Batman in this universe, he was so fucked. No Batman, no Flash, no Superman, Wonderwoman, Greenlantern, Nightwing, Justice league, no one. Fuck. He was going to have to accept help from these people. If they had metas then maybe they had one that could get him home.

Tim took a deep breath before clicking on the PA system in the booth. “Listen, I’m not here to hurt anyone. I don’t want to. I will explain everything I know, but I need you guys to stand down first.” Tim prayed that would be enough to get them to calm down.

“No way! You’re a villain, I won’t listen to the likes of your kind.” Growled out the spikey blonde.

Tim audibly sighed. “Listen kid, I’m outnumbered and injured, you really think I have a chance against you guys?” Tim probably could take down most of the kids judging on how untrained they were, but saying that would probably not help his case.

“Bakugo, stand down.” Eraserhead spoke.

“I’ll come down now, but if anyone tries anything, I will not be afraid to drop more smoke bombs.” Tim said hesitantly.

With that, Tim jumps over the railing, causing several of the kids to yell in alarm. He tucks and rolls, absorbing the impact, he stands, unbothered by the long drop. “Should we take this somewhere else, maybe with fewer kids?” Tim asked.

“You look our age,” some yellow haired kid grumbled, Tim ignored him. Someone else elbowed him.

“How old are you?” Some purple haired kid asked. God what are with these kids and their weirdly coloured fair, then again one of them is literally pink, and another has a bird head.

“16.” Tim spoke, a big mistake apparently as he felt his brain losing control over himself. “What did you do!” Tim growled, as he felt his throat start to get tight around the words.

The purple kid’s eyes widened. “Answer me, how can you resist my mind control?”

Tim felt his mouth comply without his permission. “Mental control, standard Bat training, to make sure no mind readers, or torture gets to me.” Tim clamps his mouth closed with an audible click, before speaking on his own whim, finally shaking the mind control. “Don’t fuck with my mind.” He also decidedly ignored the looks of shock from the word torture, seriously who are these kids?

“How did you break out of his control?” “Did you say torture?!” “Shit man.” “Damn this kid has nerves.” “I wonder if it’s quirk based?” “Shinso, are you okay? How did he do that!” Kids started saying all at once.

“Silence.” Eraserhead speaks. “Hit the showers. Now.” Spikey blonde, some green haired kid, and a split dye with a wicked face scar kid, all stay behind. “All of you.” The kids hesitate before leaving. Once Tim and Eraserhead are alone the older man speaks. “Call me Aizawa, we are going to take you in for questioning.”

Tim goes to speak as the man turns around and starts to walk away. “Not torture. And for the record kid, you put up a good fight.”

Tim doesn’t say anything, just silently following the man. He was too tired, confused, and quite honestly felt violated from the mind controller, to say anything. He also was ignoring the warm feeling that blossomed through him at the praise.

The man led Tim into the main area of the school, which was either a sign that the man didn’t see Tim as a threat to his students, or he was really stupid. They walked through the halls until they reached the teachers lounge where there were two other people inside. One was a blonde man with a very questionable hairdo, that was just his hair going up, looking like a banana. The other, Tim, didn't know if she should even be allowed in a school with what she was wearing, it looked like something out of an adult film.

“Nemuri, Yamada, call detective Naomasa.” Aizawa said as he walked into the room, Tim followed behind him. The two mentioned adults turned to look at Aizawa just to see Tim standing slightly behind him.

The yellow haired one, Yamada? Spoke first, “oh who’s this little listener you got with you Shota!”

Aizawa sighed, as Nemuri called the detective. “This is Robin, they crashed into my class.”

“That’s one way to say I fell out of a portal about 10ft off the ground.” Tim grumbled.

Aizawa shot him a stern look but didn’t comment, Nemuri turned back to the others. “Alright, Naomasa is on his way.”

Aizawa nodded. “Robbin go sit down on the couch, and wait for the Detective to arrive.”

Tim sent the man a mock salute before sitting on the couch with his back to the wall so he could see the whole room. Make no mistakes, Tim may seem calm but he was freaking the fuck out. He was in a different universe, with no way to get home, and the people he knew and loved didn’t exist here. Not to mention the fact he was surrounded by metas, who he didn’t know the powers of. Tim stayed silent, carefully watching everyone’s movements until a man where a long trench coat walked in.

“Hey, I’m detective Naomasa, I’m gonna ask you some questions, alright?” Naomasa said, as he sat on the couch across from Tim. He pulled out a notebook, as the other adults either sat on the couch with him (banana man, and the…women) or stood by Naomasa (Aizawa).

“Okay.” Tim replied, adjusting the way he sat to protect his ribs more.

“Alright,” the detective began, “what’s your name.”
“Robin.”
“And your real name?”

Tim was silent for a moment debating whether he should tell the truth or not. Narrowing his eyes he realized this man probably had some form of ability to detect the truth by the way he had looked at Aizawa when Tim responded. “Tim.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Tim,” Yamada announced.
Tim nodded but didn’t reply.

“Alright Tim, how old are you?”
“16.”
“What’s your full legal name?”
“Timothy Jackson Drake.”
“Do you know where you are?”
“Japan.”

That last question seemed to make the detective frown for some reason. “How did you get into UA?”
“I don’t know, the last thing I remember before ending up here was being thrown into a wall.” This response seemed to concern the adults further.

“Why were you thrown into a wall?” Yamada asked.

Tim sighed, well he might as well tell them everything. “I was fighting a rogue who grabbed me and threw me into a wall. I was there with my,” he hesitated, “coworker. He tried to warn me but it was too late. I’m a vigilante from a city called Gotham, it doesn’t exist in your universe. I don’t know how I got here or how to get out.”

Nemuri gasped. The detective looked at Aizawa and nodded. Yamada seemed to shrink. Aizawa had no outward reaction.

“Thank you Timothy-”
“Just Tim.” Tim cut off Naomasa.

Naomasa nodded. “Right, thank you Tim. I have to get going now, if you need anything call this number,” he said as he handed Tim a business card.

Tim nodded. Aizawa sighed. “I’m going to talk to Nezu, Yamada, and Nemuri, bring the boy to Recovery Girl.” Aizawa left.

“Alright little listener! Let’s head off to the med bay to get you checked out.” Yamada said, voice too loud.

Tim simply stood up, holding back the wince from the pain in his ribs. He followed the two adults to the med bay where an elderly lady was scolding a boy with blond hair and bright blue eyes. The boy didn’t seem to mind as he smiled, thanked her and walked out.

“Hey Chiyo, this little listener here needs to get checked out.” Yamada said as he lightly pushed Tim forward.

The lady didn’t seem to question who he was, simply patted the bed for him to get up on. “What is hurting, and don’t lie to me.”

Tim sighed, this woman reminded him way too much of Alfred. “Bruised, possibly fractured ribs, possibly popped stitches from a stab wound on my thigh, and a sprained left wrist.”

The two adults who had brought him in seemed shocked at the severity of the injuries, considering how he hadn’t shown any signs of pain as of now.

“Would you be able to take off the top of your suit so I may check your ribs?” RecoveryGirl asks.

Tim obliges and carefully goes through the process of undoing all the clasps and zippers. The adults all have to hold back reactions at the amount of scars this kid has. Yamada has to really hold back when he sees the kid's throat. There’s a long thick scar across it, like his throat had been slit. It doesn’t paint a very pretty picture of his mental health, but that was a discussion for later.

Tim is clearly uncomfortable with the staring from the adults, so Chiyo quickly ushers them out so she can give the poor boy some privacy. After making sure his ribs weren’t fractured (just bruised really badly), Chiyo had given him a shirt. Luckfully it was just a plain shirt that Tim quickly put on.

After checking that no, his stitches thankfully hadn’t popped he suddenly tenses as he feels a kiss pressed to the top of his head. Tim whipped his head around and quickly jumped off the cot.

“Sorry sweetheart, I should have given a warning. My quirk allows me to heal people by kissing them, though it takes your energy.” Chiyo explains.

Tim doesn’t relax much but nods. He’s been given plain pants too. He doesn’t allow them to touch his vigilante suit, though, and just as he’s putting it in a plastic bag he was given, Aizawa walks in.

“I talked to Nedzu the principal, and we decided you are going to attend UA as we work on a way to get you home.” Aizawa explains.

Tim freezes, he realizes it’s the best option as this place clearly has money but he also doesn’t know how much he trusts these so called heroes. After more internal debate, Tim decided he just has to use whatever UA gives him to his advantage and not let anyone get too close to him.

‘Alright Tim,’ he thinks. ‘All we have to do is, 1. Gain trust 2. Find a way to get home 3. Probably take down an entire criminal empire in the process and finally 4. Get home’. However what he says is. “Why?”

Aizawa sighs, “Listen kid. You are 15, your choices are, attend UA while being under the temporary guardianship of me and my husband, cps, or have the hero commission look into you. And I’m not supposed to say this, but the hero commission is a corrupt place that would only use you.”

That’s fine, he can stick to his plan. “Okay.” Step one is a go, gain trust.

Aizawa nods. “Thanks, now that the school day is almost over, so let’s get out of here before there’s a storm of kids.”

Tim just follows Aizawa silently, clutching the bag with his costume tightly. Maybe if he plays the ‘abused kid’ card he could gain trust faster? Tim doesn’t really want to, but he also doesn’t want to be in a whole different dimension.

Aizawa leads them out front to where Yamada is in a car. Aizawa points to the back seats as he gets into the passenger seat.

“Hey little listener! Me and Shouta are gonna take you home with us for a few days before we can get you a room in the dorms. Tomorrow you’re gonna hang out with me and we are going to go shopping for things that you’ll need! Oh and then the day after it’ll be friday and you’ll be with Aizawa who is gonna take you to his class. Also you can call me Hizashi!” Yamada (Hizashi?) excitedly explains as he drives down the road.

Tim nods his head, not saying much. He just quietly listens to Hizashi as he rambles on about something. Aizawa seems to be doing the same. Tim doesn’t even know how long it’s been until they’ve reached a house, it was a small house that resembled a lot like a cottage. It had a beautiful garden out front, stones led up to the door and patio where there were seats.

Tim followed behind the two men as they made their way to the house, the door was unlocked and opened by Hizashi. Tim stepped in behind them to be met with a beautiful place.

Dark hardwood flooring, cream coloured walls, with soft lights. It was rather open too, then Tim noticed the cat tree in the corner of the living room. A black cat sleeping on it. Tim had never been allowed pets, and didn’t bother to ask for one when he was living with Bruce. He had always wanted one.

Making a promise to himself about meeting the cat later, Aizawa led him upstairs. Opening the door to a nice guest room, with a bookshelf and desk.

“This is your room for now,” Aizawa explained. “You can rest for a while if you want, me and Hizashi will be downstairs.” He then pointed to a door across the hall. “That’s our bedroom if you need anything at night just knock.” Aizawa turned to leave. “Oh and dinner will be at 6pm,” with that Aizawa left.

Tim stared at the door for a moment before flopping down onto the surprisingly comfortable bed. Too much had happened, and he needed time to truly realize what had happened. He was in a different world, in a different country, where everyone seemed to be a meta, he had no way of getting home, and he was in the house of his soon to be gay teachers.

Tim sighed, just another day of being Robin.
