"We're almost there! Just a little left now before we reach home-"
Nastya's sentence is cut off by Lumine firmly grabbing her by the arm, turning around and starting to walk back to the tunnel entrance. She couldn't do this, whatever was going on in this town was not something suitable for a small child like Nastya, Lumine just couldn't let anything more happen to her....
"T-traveler-? What are you doing-" Nastya stammers in shock, struggling to break free from the travelers grip but ultimately failing, Lumine sighs and looks back at Nastya with a haunted look in her golden yellow eyes. How could she explain this? Much less in a way a child could understand? Why must words fail her so often....
"J-just.... Don't make this hard Nastya, this isn't a good place to be, especially not for a child. Come, i'll take you to a safe and loving home, it's what you've always wanted, right?"
"But what about everyone else? What if they miss me?"
Lumine struggled for words, she didn't want to lie to her but what other choice did she have?
"They... can come with us of course...! I will come get them later, i promise!" Lumine grinned and stuck out her pinky, soon entwining it with the girl's much smaller one, she struggled to keep a cheerful tone, but she had to, she couldn't risk scaring Nastya.
"So just come with me.... ok..?"
"Okie dokie!"
The journey back to Mondstad was long and arduos, but with Paimon and Nastya resting in her arms as she walked into the city she felt it was all worth it. The mild weather of Mondstadt was a pleasant change from the biting chill so prevelant in schneznaya, at least now she didn't risk dying from the enviorenment.

Ok well ignoring dragonspine that is.
Lumine noticed the familiar townspeople staring at her, it made sense, it's not every day you see an honorary knight come back to town with a small child in hand. Speaking of knights, there was a certain someone she had to visit.
"WE HAVE A CHILD-"
Was the first thing out of Kaeya's mouth the moment he laid eyes on the child in his wife's arms, said child bore no resemblance to either of them but it was still his first assumption.
"Well..... Technically speaking now we do." Lumine wasn't really sure how to explain everything that led up to this decision, but it could wait, right now she needed to just get the general introductions over with. She gently rocked the girl in her arms as she spoke in a soft, cloudlike voice.
"Wake up Nastya, i have someone i want you to meet."
