Rin and I have been dating for a while, and he refuses to let me tell anyone about our relationship! It’s hard trying to be nonchalant around Rin when I’m off the field.
And most of all, Bachira's been acting a bit weird around me these days…

In Rin’s room:
“Hey, Rin?”
“What is it?” he responded.
“ –How come you don’t want people knowing we’re dating?” I asked with hesitation.
Oh god I’m already regretting this. What if he gets weird again???
“It’s because I don’t want anyone nagging me about it. Especially that cockroach.”
“I see, what do you think about telling everyone? I feel like they’re all speculating anyway, it’s best to get it over with, don't you think?” I said
“Well.. I guess it would be better to get it done now than later but remember that you won’t be able to back off on our relationship if you ever do.” Rin sounded hesitant.
“I won’t leave you Rin, not until I beat you in becoming the world's best.” I chuckled.
“Are you saying you will when you ever even manage to beat me Yoichi?” he said in a dark voice.
“I was just joking, Rin, I wouldn’t leave you!” Man I’m hella scared right now I hope this was the right answer. (hell I’d be terrified too)
“Good.” He responded back to his usual tone.
Dodged a bullet there.
Rin suddenly started walking towards me and became a clingy cat as usual.
“Rin~ I need to go back to my room soon,”
“Just stay here a bit longer,” Rin complained.
“Fine, fine,” I replied.
And soon I lost track of time because we fell asleep together. His warm body felt like a blanket that was in the sun a bit too long. Funny how he’s so cold and rude on the field, but somehow so warm and nice when we’re alone (you can’t be talking isagi).
Whatever.. I just want to stay like this for a little longer.
…
It was the morning and Rin– as always, woke up before me.
I groggily stood up, got dressed, and headed out for breakfast.
Is anyone out at this time? I’m gonna assume they’re all at the cafeteria right now.
“Yo Isagi! What’re you up to this morning?” a familiar voice said.
“Oh Hiori! I’m just getting breakfast, wanna come with?”
“Sure, but I gotta ask.. Why were you not in your dorm last night? I was gonna to ask you ‘bout somethin’, but you weren’t in your room.” he asked.
“About that, I was at Rin’s room,”
“I see… You two datin’ or somethin’? He chuckled.
I mean Rin did say I could tell people so…
“Yeah I guess we are.” I tried to say nonchalantly.
“I was suspecting it since you guys did seem closer than ever, but I never thought you’d admit it so blatantly,”
“I mean we’ve been keeping it a secret for a while because Rin didn’t want people nagging us about it, but I recently asked him if we could reveal it.. And I guess he was more comfortable now,”
Hiori started chuckling, “Ah got it! Congrats on your publicly established relationship.”
I laughed back and thanked him. Then we walked together to breakfast.

As we made it to the cafeteria I quickly spotted Rin and headed over to him.
“Rin! How’s it going!”
“I’m fine Yoichi,” He certainly sounded tired and then to my sudden shock, he grabbed my arm and sat me next to him! What in the… I guess he really is comfortable letting people know now.
I started to hear whispers all around the place, I mean I knew this would happen but… when it's actually happening, it's a lot more embarrassing.
“Rin actually didn’t try avoiding Isagi??”
“Yoichi?? They’re definitely dating.”
“I mean with their dynamic I totally get how they would,”
This is a bit overstimulating, haa…
“ISAGI! Is this true??? You guys are dating?” Chigiri asked.
“Ye-”
“ –Yes we are. Do you have a problem with that?” oh. Oh! OH?! He actually said it?? That was– surprising.
“Nah man congrats on your relationship! You too, Isagi,” Chigiri responded in such a supportive manner.
Chuckling back I smiled and thanked him. Man I thought they’d nag us about it like Rin said, but they’re being really nice about this!
From the corner of my eye I saw Rin’s ears turn slightly red, and suddenly a thought popped up in my head.
“Hey Rin,” I whispered teasingly.
“What.”
And when he leaned in I…
Cchuu!
The look on his face after I kissed him? It was full on blushing in Rin standards. In simple terms, Rin’s entire face had gone still from a mix of shock, embarrassment, and surprise. He looked incredibly cute… wait no, I’m getting off topic. Still, he looked adorable with that frozen expression– like a computer trying to process foreign information. Haha!
“What's the matter Rin~?” I chuckled.
“You– bastard…” He looked away so fast I couldn’t even see his expression!
“You guys are making me feel lonely!” Chigiri laughed.
“Don’t worry, I'm sure you’ll find someone,” Yukimiya suddenly said.
“Oh, Yukimiya! I’m sure you’ve heard by now?”
“Well it’s hard not to know!” he laughed.
I’m glad Chigiri is feeling better, especially after Kunigami got locked off. He’s been under the weather ever since, but talking like this seems to have really helped him.
We all continued to chat and eat breakfast, and it was the most fun I had in a while. Man I haven’t been able to chat with everyone like this after the second selection, this is nice!
“Rin!” I whispered.
“What is it,”
“This isn’t as bad as you thought, right?”
“I guess not..”
“See! I told you,”
“Hey ya’ lovebirds hurry it up, training is getting started soon!” a voice said.
“Yeah yeah Hiori, we're coming, I wouldn't miss training!”
“Oh! And Rin?” I asked.
“What.”
“I will beat you today!”
“As if you’d beat me, why don’t we let today show us?” as effortless as ever he made a snarky reply back.
“You’re on, Rin!”
Come to think of it, I haven't seen Bachira anywhere today, I hope he's okay…

(Third person)
In the distance Bachira watches Rin and Isagi bantering like a couple. He says to himself, “I don’t want to be left behind…” he continues, "I know I should be happy for you as your friend, but... why, why does it make my heart hurt so much?"
I don’t want to accept it but it's true, Isagi’s dating Rin. Why didn’t I say my feelings sooner… he thought.
