Chapter Text
So, school is a pain. Can we think about anything that ISN'T what Alphys is teaching class right now?
...
You recently moved to HOMETOWN after many events led you (and your monster parents) being kicked out of your apartment, so now you live in a smaller, yet definitelly cozier apartment in there. You have met many, many wonderful people, though, school here isn't the best, atleast you think.
Well, you guess you don't really HAVE any friends yet, and since there are no other desks to spare, you are stuck sharing a desk with Temmie... Honestly, that's better than sharing with anyone else, like... That weird bluebird guy, for example? Or the edgy purple dino? Lizard? Maybe the Jockington? Or the... Creepy androgynous looking human? Though, for some reason, you feel like you don't want to think about that at the moment.
Well, now that you think of it... The education system in HOMETOWN is... not... good...... You haven't really learned anything new. They are actually quite left behind from the bigger part of the state, which is actually a nice break for you.
Such a nice break in fact, you feel your eyes getting heavier, yet heavier... Until you just... Black out, thinking about whatever.
...
...
...
("C-Can... someone please wake them up...?") ("P-Please???") ("M-Miss Toriel said...")
...
...
...
Suddenly, you wake up again, just in time for the leaving signal! You quickly rub your eyes and pack your things, but just when you are about to leave... Ms. Alphys, your teacher, pulls you over. She asks if you two could talk. Alone, just for a moment before you leave. She said it would be important, so you hesitantly follow her back to the lockers, close to your classroom.
"P-Please, uhm... I know this might be a bit much to say at once..." Alphys seems to be shaking, not something uncommon, but she seems to shake more than usual... And that unnerves you a bit.
"Your p-parents... They told you to... Stay over at a friend's house when you leave?" .
"T-They... Got into an accident -- N-NOT ANYTHING SERIOUS!... B-But... They are in no condition of taking care of you..." You feel your breathing start to irregulate as you begin to grip the hem of your shirt anxiously.
Though, even then, you slowly begin to tell alphys that you CAN'T sleep over a friend's house... Because you don't have any yet. You just moved. You don't have anyone. nobody cares and nobody would even THINK of taking you in. You start sobbing quietly while just talking about it.
...
Or i guess, not.
Ms. Toriel, the other teacher, had decided on the moment to take you with her while your parents recover, and your parents agreed to let her do so.
"Now, Now... There's no need for all this sobbing, little one." Toriel reassures you, taking one of your hands and cupping it with her bigger ones.
"Your parents trusted me to take care of you, did they not?"
"Do not worry, i will... Try my best." With that, Toriel holds one of your hands and guides you to her home.
... The way there wasn't quite the best, or atleast you wouldn't say so.
You were still sobbing, even if it wasn't as strong as before. You got some looks in the street. WHATKINDOFGODWOULDMAKEYOULIVELIKETHIS
When you arrived on the Dreemurr household, you looked up and down at the structure of the house, looking... Old...ish, but still cozy, as expected of Ms. Toriel. You silently walk in, gently thanking Toriel for her overall welcomingness and put down your bag on top of the sofa, where she asked you to put it.
After some explaining, Toriel tells you that she also has some other guests over. She mentions...
KRIS, her adoptive non-binary child that can be very awkward at times.
SUSIE, Kris' best friend, which was currently hanging out with Kris in their room.
Toriel also welcomes you to hang out with them at any time, although, you would probably have to share a bed with Kris, since the other bed was reserved for Toriel's son, ASRIEL.
For now, though, you just sit in the kitchen, it did smell nice anyways. The smell of pie basically stuck to the air there, no matter what, the smell never left... You see Toriel going up the stairs, probably to break the news to Kris and Susie. You immediately felt yourself relaxing, even through the chaos that was today. But then suddently, you hear footsteps approaching from the second floor of the house... You see a shadow looming over you... And it was
"...susie?" You heard a voice, a bit raspy saying from behind the Shadow which, looking from a different angle... Definitely resembled Susie.
"...you're gonna scare them off." They said, the voice having a bored, yet slightly higher pitched tone now.
"Aw dude, you're no fun, Kris." Susie said, stepping aside, revealing the other human, slightly taller than you, yet shorter than Susie... As expected.
You slowly stand up from your chair on the kitchen and introduce yourself, telling them your name, etc, etc, you already know the drill. You've done this multiple times before, haven't you?
After a bit of chit chat mainly with Susie, as Kris was the quieter one, They invite you up to Kris' bedroom, an idea you like the sound of, since your back already hurts from being pressed against hard things.
"Last up there is Berdly's Bride!!!" Susie exclaims before running up the stairs to Kris' room. You chuckle silently, before you see Kris just... staring at you. Of course, you can't see their eyes under the shadow their hair make on their face, but... Come on, they're actually just staring right into your SOUL.
"... if we both arrive at the same time, there's going to be no last one there, right?" Kris says, Then you nod right after they say that, giggling once more. A small mischevous smile grows on their face as they slowly wait for you on the stairs... One that immediately dissipates once they realize they're smiling.
"... nevermind." Kris just climbs up without you anyways.
... What a weird fella.
