Work Text:
"Seraph, please!" The chimes and calls of Edda's voice were left to nothing more than deaf ears. Try as she might to call to the woman before her, the tall star would not head her calls. She was imposing, towering, an Angel with a spear that any of her sisters would be honored to wield. A spear that was now aimed at her, square at her chest in an attempt to push her away.
Seraph: The Angel. One of the brightest of blue stars that has survived for over a millennia. While Edda was young compared to her sisters, small in size with much to learn, Seraph was not. She was older, strong, her size a testament to her strength. As much as the world had tried to extinguish her, as much as the Darkness had tried to swallow her whole to take her place, she had never faltered in a battle. Any who stood in her path were sliced in two, gone before they could sink their claws into her silken shell of stardust. She was an inspiration to her sisters, a strong force that any would dream of achieving one day.
Edda herself had been no exception. Her sword and shield were pitiful in comparison to Seraph's strength, and she had hoped to one day live to be as strong as she was.
But that dream would never happen now.
Something else did. Something she couldn't explain. Something wonderful, terrifying, fascinating, disastrous. Something that made her capable of surviving so much longer on her own.
Something that made her own sisters turn against her.
Something that left... such a comforting warmth in the corner of her mind, of empathy. Of apologies. Of fire and wind that warmed her frozen core.
Her sister saw it as a threat. And now she couldn't even explain in a way she understood that she was still the same warrior she remembered. The same sister who they bonded over a soft unicorn with. Who promised to teach her one day, on how to handle herself to live as long as their stars would burn in the skies.
Seraph. Angel. Sister.
Forgive her for what she is about to do to you.
