Raven's feathers and wolf's fur

Summary:

Heyy, I don't really know what direction this fic will go. But, I do want to say that Tyler WILL be good in this fic. He goes through extensive therapy in this fic and then turns a new leaf, joining Wednesday's friend group. There is absolutely no Wyler, not even bread crumbs. Just platonic, maybe even bickering-sibling-like between Tyler and Enid. Yoko and Divina might get together but idk. No beta, we die like Thornhill! Changes may occur to the summary as I go on with this fic, chatpers may not be long, and updates may not be frequent. Happy reading!

Work Text:

Enid's vision was blurry as she clung onto her roommate with all of her life, tears actively streaming down her face. She held on for a couple seconds, expecting Wednesday to push her off. Instead, she pulled away to look into her eyes, and then returned the hug with a steady hold. This action caused Enid to sob even harder, burying her face into her neck.

“Come on, we need to clean you up.” Wednesday said when she finally let go of their embrace, gazing at Enid with a soft expression. Enid managed a nod, and they both set off to the dorm at a quick pace.

The two girls sat in their shared bathroom, Enid sitting on the toilet lid like a seat, and Wednesday kneeled in front of her. Wednesday held a small curved needle in her hand, a spool of thread in the other. Enid had taken a shower to rinse off the blood just a little before.

“Enid, I need to stitch up your wounds. This won't hurt that much, you'll barely feel it with all the adrenaline in your system.”

“But Wednesday! You know I hate needles!” Enid squeaked, shying away from the surgical device in her roommate's hand.

Wednesday had quite literally no idea how to get Enid to calm down, she went through different things in her mind until she had come upon the perfect idea.

“Wait here a second.” She told Enid, exiting the bathroom to retrieve Enid's laptop. She put on one of the dumb movies that Enid loved so much and set it right next to Enid on the bathroom counter. Wait, I'm A Cheerleader, was it called? Something like that. She just knew Enid loved it. As the intro song Chick Habit begins to play, she notices Enid's attention go to the laptop.

“Aw! You put on my favourite movie? That's so sweet of you!”

“I am not sweet. I prefer horrifying.” Wednesday grumbled in reply.

“Whatever Wens.” She says with a sarcastic eye roll.

Wednesday worked quietly on stitching Enid's wounds, her distraction had worked, only a small handful of times did Enid wince when she made a pass through skin. Around half an hour later, she was finally done stitching.

“Hey, I'm all done. You're free to go.” She said as she tapped Enid’s shoulder to get her attention.

“But I just got to the funny part where this gay boy tries to chop a piece of wood but instead chucks an axe all the way behind him!” Enid whined.

“You can take the movie onto your bed.” She replied.

Wednesday makes her way to her side of the room when she notices Enid was still following her, her laptop in one arm.

“Why are you following me?” Wednesday asks.

“Oh, uhm, I was wondering if you would sit in my bed with me. I just kinda want to be close to someone tonight, I sorta might still be in shock. But— you totally don't have to do it of course.” She rambled, letting out a yelp when Wednesday dragged Enid to her pink bed, and proceeded to lay there, patting a spot next to her for Enid to lay.
She happily complied, letting out a hum of content as she shifted into a comfortable position next to her roommate.

Wednesday wasn't really watching the movie at all, she had never been someone to enjoy satirical comedies. She preferred murder and crime documentaries that featured gruesome cases and things adjacent. The werewolf next to her was so warm, she could basically feel the heat radiating off of her, and it was somewhat alluring. She could feel the call of sleep in her subconscious progressively growing intense as she lay there stiffly.
She had no idea how much time had passed when she felt that Enid's breathing had slowed and deepened, she was asleep. Wednesday quietly closed the laptop and set it aside on the bed, finally letting herself relax in the closeness and warmth. She then drifted off into a deep slumber, allowing herself to lean just slightly on her roommate.

—--------------------------

Enid roused in her bed, yawning and stretching her arms. Only to discover a weight on her chest, peering down she finds Wednesday curled around her. Her face turned sideways on Enid's chest, and her arms slightly hugging each side of Enid's torso. The sight caused Enid to stifle a loud noise from how adorable the scene was in front of her. This feels like an absolute privilege to have a 5'2 murder weapon cuddling her while she sleeps, she would likely murder Enid if she woke up just now. Enid felt a sense of pride swell in her chest to have Wednesday Addams in this form, nobody would ever get to experience this! Enid went to check her phone, noticing that it was only a Thursday she groaned at the thought of classes. But then cheering up again once she viewed her dozens of messages saying that school got cancelled. That brief thought of cheer ended when she realized that she now has to go home to her mother and brothers, replacing the joy with cold fear.

“Enid?...” Wednesday groaned, lifting her head from where she lay. Her pale face then turned a light pink when she registered what position she was then in, rolling herself off of Enid.

“Aw man, I wanted just five more minutes of cuddle time!” Enid said, pouting.

“No.” Wednesday deadpanned as she crossed her arms and sat up.
“I need to get packing, school is cancelled for the rest of the semester.” Wednesday explained. Enid's thoughts raced as she thought of having to go back to her family for that long. Do my parents know? Will they be proud of me for wolfing out? I don't want to be alone.

“Will you be fine going home?” Wednesday asked, stopping Enid's train of thought.

“Uh yeah.. I think.” Enid replied, a note of uncertainty in her voice. But she was sure that Wednesday didn't catch it.

“Hm, alright. I still stalked your family's public records for anything prior to this. Did you know that your mother has a charge of domestic violence?” Wednesday inquired.

“Uhhhh…. I don't know. I should start packing as well ‘cause— you know— going home..” Enid stumbled on her words as she turned to her side of the room, gathering her phone and headphones to play music. Enid opened her phone to many messages that she hadn't the mental capacity to go though, sighing, she opened up her Spotify.

A little while later, Enid had packed all she needed to leave. Wednesday was done well before her, disassociating at her desk.

“So… what are you going to get up to at home?” Enid asked.

“I will take up most of my time working on my novel, and possibly torturing my brother, I'm sure he misses me to a sickly amount.” Wednesday replied.

“I am so jealous of you! Your family is so nice to you, usually my brothers don't want me to hang out with them because I wolfed out so late.” Enid stated.

“That is quite unfair, I hope they'll finally accept you.” Wednesday replied.

Little did Wednesday know, because Enid finally wolfed out, she would get sent off to mate some random boy from another pack. She hated the idea of having to be with someone she's never met.

*Ring!*

Enid checked up her phone to find her mother calling her, with dread, she reluctantly picked up.

“Enid! The school emailed me. You made a spectacle of yourself! I'm sure you didn't actually fight the hyde, it was probably that Addams girl that finished him off.”

“But mom.. I wolfed out. Aren't you proud of me?”

“You were so late that it’s barely a celebration, I should have sent you to lycanthropy conversion therapy instead of sending you here. When you come home, I’m sending you off to get a mate. Don't even consider unpacking when you get home.”

“But mom, I saved the school from a literal massacre, you should be happy for me. I could have died! And I don't want to be given away to a random boy that I've never met, that’s just wrong!”

“You're a disgrace either way Enid, and you don't get to decide what's right in our pack. Maybe if you even get the chance to be accepted, then I'll give you free will. But don't hold your breath.” Esther spat on the other end of the phone. Enid had another reply prepared, but Esther had abruptly ended the call before she could say any more.

Enid stared at the phone in her hand, a feeling of numbness spreading across her body. She hadn't any idea what to feel about this newly made fate of hers. She felt everything, and nothing all at once. Like someone just shut off her emotions. She could tell that Wednesday was trying to talk to her, she just wasn't listening. Enid made her way back to her bed and sat at the edge, staring at the wall.

“Enid? Enid. Are you alright?” Wednesday asked in a slightly anxious manner. Wednesday had never seen someone experience this before, it seemed like Enid was disassociating, but she had no idea. Wednesday had witnessed her brother panic before, but this isn't panicking at all, at least she thinks. Wednesday follows Enid to where she sits, taking a spot next to her.

“I could never imagine a parent forcing their own child into such a position for something they couldn't control. I would skin her in an instant and hang her pelt on the wall if given permission. If you don't feel safe going home, I am sure my family back home will welcome you with open arms and sickeningly affectionate words. They would enjoy your company very much. They would never force you to do anything you didn't want to. Please, if you feel as if it would be safest to you, come with me to my manor over break.” Wednesday proposed the idea to Enid in hopes that it would calm her down. She studied Enid’s features shift as she processed what Wednesday had just told her. Her eyes widened a bit when she noticed Enid's breathing quicken instead of slow.

“But W- Wednesday.. My clan will hunt me down if I don't come home! It's happened before when my mother threatened to take me to lycanthropy therapy and I ran away. She sent out my brothers and they found me immediately! They'll find me again if I go to your house!” Enid rambled, now hyperventilating.

Wednesday then did something she didn't think she would initiate, she reached out and embraced Enid in a sideways hug. She felt Enid turn in the embrace and face Wednesday fully in the hug, burying her face into Wednesday's neck.

“We can hire guards to protect the manor, and we can certainly take legal action if they plan to take you from us if you are found.” She reassured Enid.

“Okay, just please give me a bit to think about it. I do like the idea of staying with you, so maybe.” Enid replied, a bit muffled by her position.

“Alright, I'll get Lurch when you decide.” The goth answers, pulling a pack of watermelon gum out of nowhere and handing it to Enid.

“Wow, thanks Willa. Where did you get that? And how did you know I liked those?” Enid asked.

“I take notice of your favored objects and such. You'll never know when you'll need that information.” She answered, like it was such a casual thing to do.

“Okayy.. that's totally not offputting.” Enid responded, staring skeptically at Wednesday.

A little bit of time passes, and Enid has gotten herself ready for the day. Wednesday took that little time to get a small chunk into her novel, keys loudly clacking throughout the dorm space.

“Okay Wens, I'm ready. I've decided that it would be better to go with you, going home would be horrible. Thank you for offering!” Enid said, coming up behind Wednesday at her desk where she sat with the typewriter.

“Are you ever going to write on a laptop?” Enid asked.

“Never. I won't give in to the brain rotting machinery that is technology and social media.” She replied in her usual deadpan. “My parents already know about your situation, they're ecstatic to hear that you've come to stay for vacation. Be prepared for my father's soul crushing embraces.” She explained, taking out her phone and shooting a short text to someone. “Lurch has been notified, he will be here shortly to take our luggage into the hearse. We must go.” Wednesday said, taking her typewriter and placing it in its case with a click of the lock.

“Oh! Okay! Can I be in charge of the AUX?” Enid asked.

“Absolutely not. You may use your headphones to listen to your own music. I fear that I may have to defang and declaw you and keep them as trinkets if Lurch and I have to be subjected to your quote unquote music.” Wednesday started with a grim expression.

“Damn, that hurt. But alright, I can manage.” Enid responded before they began to make their way out of the dorm, linking their pinkies together as they walked.
