Chapter Text
Giyu slid the shoji door open, and on the other side sat the Master and Shinobu. “Oh my Tomioka-san, you seem to be quite late.” Shinobu chirped. She was going to add a snarky remark, but seeing as the Master was right there, she refrained. “I’m late?” Giyu thought he had timed his walk perfectly so he’d arrive right on time, or maybe Shinobu was just messing with him as per usual.
“Don’t worry, Giyu. Just have a seat so we can begin this meeting.” The Master’s voice soothed Shinobu’s temper (a little) and calmed Giyu’s confusion. “I have brought you two here because there have been many reported missing people, including your fellow slayers, in ______, so I’d like you two to investigate the village. I want you two to be careful. This may very well be a twelve kizuki.”
“My apologies master but I am unable to take this mission” said Shinobu regretfully. Giyu glanced over at Shinobu in curiosity. “I have many patients in critical condition, so I’m unfortunately very busy. My deepest apologies master.” Shinobu bowed to the Master.
The Master, always so humble, signals for Shinobu to sit up. “Don’t worry my child. I completely understand.” The Master gave a warm smile. “Well, Giyu, since Shinobu cannot go, is there anyone else you want to accompany you?” Giyu remained silent for a moment.
He preferred to work on missions alone, but he wasn’t given that option. He feels like that might be impolite. “You can also go alone if you’re prefer that” Giyu broke from his train of thoughts and realized that Shinobu was giving him the nastiest death glare with that same fake smile plastered like a permanent sticker. “I think I’d prefer to go alone.” Said Giyu while turning to the Master.

Giyu was now in the forest surrounding the assigned village. The sun had just set, so he was running a little late. He hummed in content as he admired the scenery. The trees were tall, and the moon was shining bright. He sees something at the corner of his eye. He quickly turns with his hand already on the hilt of his sword, but there was nothing.
Giyu had let his guard down up until now, so that’s probably why he got caught off guard. Oh well, he’ll just have to be more aware from now onward-what the fuck is that. Giyu could have sworn he’d just seen someone peeking at him from behind that tree. He picks up his pace. He can start to see the village.
Giyu quickly draws his sword as it clashes with what seems to be another sword. He looks behind him to see a tall silhouette, but he can’t examine them further before the person comes at him again. Why is there a demon slayer fighting him right now? Then, out of nowhere, he gets pushed into a tree so hard the wind gets knocked right out of Giyu.
The tall figure walked towards him. Giyu tried to get up, but he was still struggling to breathe. The figure stood and stared at him. Now that Giyu was getting a good look, he realized that this was not a human, let alone a demon slayer. The most obvious trait pointing to this fact were the six crimson eyes, but that wasn’t it. He had pale blue, almost grey, skin that looked white under the moon, and sharp red, maybe black?, claws.
Just as Giyu recovers his breath and tries to get up, he has to evade another attack from this demon (that has a sword for some reason?). Giyu gets up and goes to attack the demon but misses.
(Idk how to write fight scenes so just pretend there is one here. Imagine they fight n stuff and giyu gets injured a lot and somehow he ends up sitting against a tree all bloody and hurt n stuff)
The demon approaches the injured demon slayer and puts his sword under the human’s chin to lift it. “What is your name, demon slayer? You’ve proven to be a good match so I’d like to remember you.”
“I don’t have a name to give you.” Replied Giyu. His brows furrowed in half disgust-half anger. All six of the demon’s eyes narrowed in frustration. “Give me your name.” “No.” “Well what if I give you mine? I’m Kokushibo.” Giyu didn’t really care about the demon’s name, but maybe it’s good information to the master?
“Your wounds are fatal and you may very well die here. I’d be a shame for all that strength to go to waste.” Said Kokushibo.
“Why don’t you become a demon, water hashira?”
