”Liam asked me for a dinner.”
”What’s the problem here?” It’s not the first or twentieth time when they are talking about Liam Lawson on this semester, and Kimi would have expected Arvid celebrating this step in their relationship with a full heart.
”He said the apartment is empty. Isack and Franco are both gone for the weekend.”
”I still don’t see the issue.” They are all sharing apartments, bathrooms, and kitchens to lower the costs of living. It’s nice to always have someone around to talk to, and still keep the little privacy too.
”Should I buy condoms?” Arvid blurts out, Kimi just barely swallowing his surprised giggles.
”Condoms… What do you think is going to happen?” Him and Ollie are past this phase, looking behind every suggestion and date idea, but it's quite sweet to get to share this with Arvid.
The other boy walks closer, flopping down on the corner sofa, and watching Kimi with heavy eyes. He straightens his spine, and puts his book away. He is warm and comfortable, and had just had a good snack. Kimi doesn’t mind a little serious talk right now.
”What if Liam wants to have sex? It’s a pretty big hint in my opinion, inviting your boyfriend to your empty apartment…”
”Would you like to have sex with him?”
”No, or yes, definitely, but not yet. But what if he wants to do it?”
”You aren’t a virgin, are you?” There had been that girl, Annie, and they had been dating for about half a year, but Kimi doesn’t know everything happening in Arvid’s life.
”No, not with girls.”
”Do you need me to talk you through gay sex then?” He would do it if the other boy asked. Arvid is so confident, an old soul in a young body, and sometimes they forget he is the baby of their friend group. It’s not like Kimi would have such deep life experience either, but he and Ollie have been going steady for over two years now, and know each other inside and outside.
”Absolutely not. I know the… Logistics.” Arvid gives him an awkward smile, and a friendly eye-roll, ”but yeah…”
”You shouldn’t do anything you are not comfortable with. Maybe don’t let the anxiety grow before you have actually talked to him about all this.” He has seen how Liam looks at Arvid. Kimi doesn’t suspect he’d be pushing in bedroom, but it’s better for Arvid to keep a clear head anyway.
”Yeah. You are right. I think I just wanted someone else saying exactly that. We’ll have a dinner, and I’ll talk to Liam. Thanks, Kimi.”
”Anytime. Relationships can be a bit complicated.”
Later in the evening he leaves a like on Arvid’s new Instagram picture. It looks very cozy, the two of them cuddling under blankets in front of the television screen. They’d be alright.
