Lucy knew Tim was working late as she made her dinner leaving leftovers in the fridge for when Tim came home and would undoubtedly be hungry. She plated up the creamy garlic pasta ensuring only mushrooms went on her plate and avoided Tim’s dinner. (Otherwise she’d never hear the end of how mushrooms were on of society’s biggest mistakes according to her boyfriend.)
Once she had finished eating her dinner Lucy washed the plate and went to the sofa, flicking on the TV and scrolling through numerous channels before settling on a heartfelt musical movie. As the television sang Lucy’s eyelids grew heavier and before she knew it her body had lay down her head on the pillow and blanket half draped across her body and the floor.

Lucy woke to the sound of the movie credits rolling as she reached for her phone and saw no messages from Tim. She decided to give him a quick message to check in and see what time he’d be home.
Lucy: hey baby, what time are you home….drive safe.
Lucy: love you
*delivered*
Lucy sighed before setting her phone down on the coffee table - she knew he was working late but still it doesn’t mean she misses him any less. She loves his cuddles in bed and listening to the sound of his heartbeat which helps soothe her to sleep like a baby listening to a lullaby.
Lucy soon fell back asleep as tiredness consumed her body and the weight of a half heavy but warm Kojo lay on her feet.

Tim: Hey Luce you’re probably asleep by now.
Tim: I’m on my way home now see you soon.
Tim pulled into the drive at 12:09pm and quietly exited his car before fumbling with his keys to unlock the front door. Tim was immediately greeted to the sight of his gf snuggled up on the couch with the bulldog mix snuggled up against her. Tim couldn’t help but smile at the sight of his girlfriend sleeping soundly and felt a pang of jealousy at Kojo being snuggled up with Lucy when it should be him despite him working late hours.
Tim headed to the kitchen quietly and grabbed the left over pasta from the fridge which Lucy had left him. He finished his food feeling more content with the warm meal now sitting in his stomach before quietly heading out to Lucy to wake her up so that he can cuddle her in bed.
Tim gently shook Lucy’s shoulder to wake her from her slumber. “Luce come on let’s head to bed.” Tim couldn’t help but smile as those big brown eyes opened and locked on his face. God he loves her eyes. “Why are u asleep on the couch honey?”
A sleepy Lucy mumbled “waiting for you to come home” and Tim’s hearted melt at the fact that she cared so much that she’d wait for him despite the time being so late.
“Come on let’s get you to bed” Tim whispers softly. He sides his arm under Lucy’s back and the other beneath her legs before scooping her up and carry her to their bedroom. Lucy sighed softly as her back hit the mattress and Tim pulled the quilt over her body. “You didn’t have to wait up you know.” Tim said in a soft caring voice. “I know” Lucy replied “I wanted too. I want to make sure your home safe besides I can’t sleep properly without you” Tim smiled as he slid into the bed next to her . He can’t believe this amazing woman is his and he promises himself he will never met her go.
“I love you Tim.” Lucy mutter before falling into a heavy sleep.
“I love you too Luce” Tim whispers “so much.” Tim presses a soft kiss to her temple before he let the exhaustion from the day consume his body.
