Notes:

Heyy

So I know I already started something in this fandom BUT I saw Brand New Day a few weeks ago and couldn't stop imagining Shane as Spiderman since then. Sooo I came with this little something

English's not my first language and I don't speak Russian either so feel free to correct me in both languages

(same for the tags I'm really bad at it)

I don't have any idea how long this will be, let's go with the flow ig

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Jane's POV

Chapter Text

02/09/2017 Montreal— Earth 616, 11: 15 pm

Jane has always been curious of interrogating rooms. Growing up, her mother always put some episode of Criminal Minds and the 8 year-old she was used to be fascinated about those cold rooms police officers obtain information. The first time she told Lily about it she mocked her because, of course Lily Rozanova would never miss an opportunity to make fun of her.

‟Oh my god Hollander, of course your wildest fantasy would be a sterile room.” She had laughed.

Now that she has been dragged into a real interrogating room because of her forced identity reveal, Jane would rather be anywhere else in the world.

It’s been 3 hours since the detective busy with her let her in the room by herself, to push her admitting what he needs from her is her bet, but her Spider-Woman job got her used to some harsh interrogating conditions (she went to space for fuck’s sake). When she hears her phone chimes, Jane pulls it out from the pocket of her sweatshirt to see a message from Lily.

How are you holding up Lyubimy?

Jane can’t help smiling to her screen while reading her girlfriend’s text, sure the situation is shitty but there is nothing Lily Rozanova’s presence couldn’t solve.

I’ll survive :)

As on cue, the officer interrogating Jane decides to get into the room, a classified file in hands that he theatrically drops on the table between them.

‟So… Miss Hollander, or should I say Spiderwoman?”

‟Depends?” She dead pans, ‟Who’s under arrest?”

The cop exhales slowly as he pinches the bridge of his nose before Jane adds :

‟Plus, it is my right as a Canadian citizen, and a human being more broadly speaking, to have my lawyer with me.”

A few minutes pass where no one says anything. It grows more and more obvious the police has no concrete evidence of what bad or inherently against morals Jane could have done as Spiderwoman to be under arrest, they just hope stress will make her spill whatever crime she would have committed.

Jane is about to start rambling, when the door bursts opened and a head of unmistaken blonde curled hair makes its way into the room.

‟Miss Rozanova,” the cop starts, ‟you can’t…”

‟My partner did not do anything illegal except, at worst contributing to bring half the population after the blip,” Lily stops him, unbothered, ‟and I have checked with the lawyers of the Iriney Foundation, you got nothing to charge her, so now let her fucking go!”

Jane can barely repress the smirk on her face as Lily starts playing the co-founders card to justify her storming in here to bail Jane from jail but God, her girlfriend was a genius.

At loss for conter arguments, the officer calls his superior.

‟Captain, I got nothing from her what should I do?” The cop asks once a middle age woman comes into the room.

‟Let her go.” She sighs, ‟There’s nothing more to do Jones.”

The walk on the way home is silent. Because of her fear of heights, Lily always refused to swing alongside Jane when they were together except in case of emergency, like the one time some mad man with electronic wings calling himself the vulture decided to blow up the Boston Stadium when Jane happened to be playing against the Raiders. Lily had found herself stuck under the gravels of the building and Jane (well Spiderwoman) ran to her without hesitation.

‟What’s going on in this beautiful head of yours, Moya Lyubov’?” Lily finally decides to ask while they turn at a corner in the direction of Jane’s apartment.

‟Nothing Lily, I’m okay.”

‟Even after seven years knowing you, you are still a very bad liar, Hollander.”

‟Fuck you!” Jane answers in a laugh. ‟I’m just— overwhelmed, I think, it was a hard day.”

‟Says the girl who fought Thanos between winning two Stanley cups for Montreal.” Lily jokes.

No one says anything until they finally get to Jane’s building. They climb the stairs to the third floor, where the apartment is situated when Lily finally says :

‟No sex building tonight, Miss businesswoman?”

‟Shut up, Rozanova.” Jane shoots back

‟Make me.” She says as she bites her lip.

Before Lily can turn this even more into a dirty play, Jane turns the key in the door before getting inside her home. Once she took her shoes off, Jane runs to her couch where she crashes into.

‟Jane, talk to me. How can I help?” Lily asks as she kneels in front of her.

‟Nothing, love. There is nothing you can do.” Jane supplies while cupping her girlfriend’s chin with her right hand.

They stay like this for god knows how much time, Jane spirals over the last few months, Mysterio, Thanos, losing Lily to the blip for five long years (God… she could never survive if she had lost her forever) and now her identity reveal… yeah, it was messy.

‟I wish things could be different.” Lily finally says after a while.

‟I wish too… maybe in another world?” Jane answers as she leans in for a kiss.

In another world.” Her girlfriend answers in Russian as she gives it back.
