Luis was in complete despair, seeing Max die in his arms. He'd already watched this happen at least a million times at this point. Uma appears, asking "Well Luis, what will you do now?" Luis gave her a sharp look, saying a similar thing he said the last time change. "I'm gonna change this, once and for all." He really meant it this time. Little did he know that was about to change everything he's done up to this point.
When he changed time, it felt like yet another distant memory when he woke up, he was in his dorm in Auradon.
He was all alone, but all he could think of was the last time change. What if this time change ends up the same way? He proceeded to get out of his dorm, he had class anyway.
While in class, he noticed Chloe and Hazel were gone. That was off, but all he can think of was if Max was alright. So he walked inside to see Max at his desk with his head faced down. He looked devastated after Red and Pink ended up being destroyed by Sun Shifters and the overcome of guilt in their moon of soul. They got turned into Sun Shifters after Red sacrificed herself, and Pink ended up realizing that her moon of soul is the only thing keeping her alive. So she ended up destroying it herself. Due to everyone losing hope for her.
Luis walked over to Max. Max had that expression he gets when he feels guilty.
"Are you okay, Hatter?" Luis questioned, examining the boy with some sort of care.
"No, not at all. First Pink and Red disappear and die, now Chloe and Hazel might be witches." Max answered. He started tearing up but he stopped because people started giving him looks. He didn't need that at the moment.
After class, something happened. There was a huge storm coming in, everyone in Auradon ended up staying within the castle together, but Luis decided to go out to see what was wrong. To see if Maddox Hatter was going to plan an attack. Max had to stay in his dorm. With Felix and the Smees. Until he said he was going to go out to get his bag. That didn't happen though.
While getting his bag, he ended up spotting Luis, who should've been in his dorm, trying to fight off Maddox. Uma appeared in that moment.
"Well? Are you just gonna sit here or go help Luis??" Uma said.
"I can't. I'm not.. a Moon Shifter." Max replied.
Uma looked straight at him. "Then you should help. Maybe you will become one then." she started, "If you help, I think you'll be the strongest Moon Shifter I've ever witnessed." she continued.
Max knew he would become a Moon Shifter, but he wasnt sure if his help and wish he had would truly help.
"Maybe I shall." Max finally said, after a bit of thought. He began running downstairs, out the doors of Auradon Prep, to go help the person that likely needs him the most.
Luis was really struggling. Maddox kept flipping time, back and forth, between the start of Luis' time change, and now. Max saw Luis go down, and ran towards him.
"Dad. Please. Just stop. You can't just destroy Auradon!!" Max shouted. He was in tears again. Why was his dad LIKE THIS?? He couldn't take it anymore.
"Y0U TH!N7 YOU C@N D3STR00YY M33#???!! S0N,1 @@@AM NOT WH() YOU KN0W ANYM-000RRREEE!!!???" His dad was a genuine monster. Max was scared for his life. His father was actually insane. He was glitching out due to the amount of times he switched time. He almost shot an attack, at his own son. That made Max feel worse. His father genuinely attacked him.
Uma appeared too. She was watching from the side.
"WHY AREN'T YOU DOING ANYTHING UMA?? JUST HELP !!!??" Max shouted to her.
"So, I can't help with any of this. I’m a figure who turns people into Moon Shifters, I myself, am not one.” She said.
“FINE. I wish that my father was good and we didn’t have to defeat Sun Shifters EVER!! Even if I need to disappear from this timeline forever!!..” Max told his truth. He wanted to disappear. This was his one and only chance.
His wish came true. Luis looked at him in shock.
“Your wish is yours.” Uma said. Creating Max’s wish. Right then and there, he felt himself faint towards the galaxy. Luis felt a similar feeling.
Luis awoke. He woke up in a weird looking galaxy. Max was with him. He looked completely different. They were holding each other. Close. As Luis always wanted.
“You’re awake.” Max said. “I know you didn’t want to watch me go, but I couldn’t do it anymore. I knew you changed time from the start. So I had to fix it. Or else you would’ve been in a time loop.” He stated.
Luis looked at Max’s eyes. He looked different. He had the pocket watch within his reach. He was the pocket watch holder now. Luis held Max tight. Max had no emotion in him anymore, but he had one type of feeling, love. He kissed Luis for a very brief amount of time. Until he had to leave for other duties.
“Well, where are you going now…?” Luis said. After letting go of the kiss.
“I’m not sure. But just know, I’ll always be watching, from galaxies away. Even if I’m not there physically, I’m always there.” Max said. He looked at Luis with a small smile. “This is my destiny now. And yours is to keep the world the same way I wanted it to be. And if you see my father, ask him if he’s okay. Tell him I love him. Even though he won’t remember me likely.” He added. Luis teared up from that.
“Will you still love me? Even if we’re multiverses and galaxies apart?” Luis asked. His heart felt prepared for anything.
“Yes, I will. Now, goodbye Luis.” Max answered. Slowly drifting from him. But stopped for a moment.
“Oh and, even if I’m gone, always remember my name. Even if nobody else knows it.” He stated.
“I always will, Hatter. I love you.” Luis replied. He was tense. His heart was racing. He was scared of what was going to happen.
“I love you too.” Max answered, as they drifted away from each other.
A few days after the incident, Luis was hanging out with him and Max’s friend group. It was normal now. Red, Pink, Hazel, & Chloe were back. Everything was how it was before. He still missed Max, though. He loves Max.
After the gang laughed a little bit at something Robbie and Luis did, Luis sighed. “I miss Max…” He said. Everyone looked at him. “Who??” Hazel said. Luis forgot for a moment they all forgot about him except for himself.
“Nevermind!! I don’t know, y’know… I just thought of that name.” Luis awkwardly explained. They continued to fool around and all that.
After a little while, he decided to visit Maddox. Who turned out to be in the Wonderland Palace now. Due to him turning good.
“Hey, Maddox Hatter?” Luis called, finding his way into Maddox’s office.
“Yes? Who is that?” He answered.
“I’m Luis Madrigal, son of Luisa Madrigal, was friends with your son Max Hatter?” Luis introduced. Maddox immediately turned when he heard the name Max.
“Did you just say… Max?” Maddox questioned. He finally found someone who remembered Max.
“Yeah… He said he loves you, Maddox. He did this for you and I.” Luis answered. Maddox lit up with happiness. Happy his son still loved him even if he hurt him.
“He really does love me. After all I did.”
“Yes. Just do me a favor and remember his name with me, will you?”
“Of course I will.”
