Chapter Text
The moon, suddenly in the sky fell to the earth. So did that glowing orb. It was fast moving, trying to get back to Goiky.
The glowing light got closer until--
THUD!
An explosion, a combustion, right in front of Match's eyes. The girl ran over, her red afro bouncing as she ran. The sight horrified her when she got close. The UFO had crashed into the recovery center, and Pencil-- oh Pencil.. She couldn't bear to watch, but couldn't look away from her. Pencil's skin was charred. Dry, and going through fat and muscle. She looked like she was trying to scream, her mouth open and whispering raspy pleas for help. But Match couldn't help. Her hair was easily flammable, and she was stuck in place. Her vision narrowed down to Pencil's face, now permanently stuck in a grimace of pain and horror. Her hair was burnt to a crisp, and only the algebraliens got out safe. The announcer just hopped out like it was nothing. Match was safe to say, devastated. Match had gone through fighting mutant cacti, arguments and pain just for her girlfriend to die like this? No, she was going to do something. Pencil would have wanted her to.
"Announcer, what like, just HAPPENED?!" Match exclaimed in fury, subconsciously walking in front of Pencil even though her face was charred off and clearly lifeless.
"Hey we made it."
No.
She couldn't let this happen. This wasn't fair. Her girlfriend was DEAD. Her love, her bestie, her ride or die was dead. And she couldn't be recovered. Match's heart was broken. When the flames died down, Match fell to her knees and sobbed. Her lover was dead. She couldn't handle the loss at all. She wanted her back, so badly. She reached out for Pencil and sobbed into her shoulder. It felt like a horrible peace of leather she'd forced herself to farm. She felt a feeling of utter despair. Who wouldn't when their girlfriend just died out of nowhere and wasn't coming back?
Match brought herself back to her knees, softly whimpering as she took the one thing of Pencil's that hadn't been burnt; her beret. It was a simple silver and pink beret, but it meant so much to Match. She'd make them pay. She'd make them pay. She'd make Four pay.
