Work Text:
Abolish awoke to a heavy weight on top of him. It wasn't entirely unpleasant, if he was being honest, but it certainly wasn't helping him want to get up out of bed when his face was buried in someone else's chest. A soft noise left him, trying to signal that he was awake and the other Abolish probably needed to get up off him now.
The only response he received was a quiet huff, a calloused hand running through his hair, sharp nails scratching a bit behind his ear. With that, he was more than content to settle back down, already starting to doze off again with a soft purr rumbling in his chest.
After a moment, the other man shifted a bit, the hand leaving its hair so he could prop himself up on his elbows. Even though it really should take the opportunity and pull away so it could get up and start work, it could only sigh and curl closer to him.
"Are you… purring?" Its eyes fluttered open to squint up at flame, warmth spreading across its face. It was purring, wasn't it? Although part of it expected flame to be freaked out, there was a slight smirk on flames face, pride glittering in flames amber eyes.
"Uh… yeah." He tried to fight down the sound, only for it to get even louder as the other's hand came up to scratch behind his ear again. Unable to stop himself from leaning into its touch, he shut his eyes to avoid looking at it, mumbling, "That, uh- That happens sometimes, it's… normal, kind of."
"Aww, I made you purr." A soft kiss was pressed to his cheek and he whined, struggling to lift his arms to plant his hands on flames chest, trying and failing to push flame away. Despite his struggling, he opened his eyes a bit to see that flame was only grinning at him even more. "Cute."
"I'm not," he sighed, fighting down a smile while his purring got a bit louder. Several more kisses were peppered all over his face, before the other man eventually found his lips, silencing the rest of his protests.
With a soft sigh, it reached up and slid its arms around the back of his neck, pulling him down fully on top of it again. Its eyes drifted shut again and it wasn't sure just how long it laid there, both of them mumbling I love you into each other's mouths a few times before eventually breaking apart. The other Abolish adjusted his position to lay down halfway on top of it, legs tangled together as he stared down at it, still running a hand through its hair. Maybe it could stay here for a little longer.
"You really are adorable," flame said after maybe a minute, matter-of-fact as if flame had just officially decided this. He simply huffed and pressed himself a bit closer, reaching out to wrap his arms around flame. "You are."
Tucking his face into its chest, he rolled his eyes, although he didn't feel any real annoyance. Even if he didn't agree in the slightest any time the other man complimented him, it was still at least nice.
His phone buzzed where it lay on the bedside table, interrupting one of the nicest mornings he'd had in a while. With a sigh, he rolled over, the other finally allowing him to pull away to check who was texting him. Its arms wrapped securely around his waist to keep him from going too far as he opened up his messages with Shelby.
After a couple seconds of reading through the message, he turned his phone off and set it on the bed next to him. Slipping its arms around its boyfriend again, it sighed, "One of my friends wants me to go out to lunch with them and our other friends. I'll probably have to get dressed and everything, in a few minutes."
"I don't see why," he grumbled, burying his face in its hair and pulling it closer. A soft giggle slipped out of it before could stop itself, earning a light kiss on top of its head; it had no clue why he always acted like it somehow looked gorgeous when it was wearing just an old, loose shirt and sweatpants, but it wasn't really complaining about him being all over it. "You could at least bring me?"
Eyebrows arching, he tilted his head and pointed out, "No one here knows about you, and I'm not letting the organization find out who you are. And you still barely know English."
"That's… not really relevant." It squeezed him tighter for a moment, claws digging a bit into his sides. Abolish had to admit that he really had no idea what to do here; most people were happy to get him out of their sight and off to work as soon as possible, and he couldn't remember the last time he'd had someone trying to get him to stay with them.
"I can't really stay in here forever," he said at last, reaching a hand up to run it through flames soft brown curls. "And I'll be back in… an hour or two, at most."
The other squeezed it again, tight enough that it almost couldn't breathe, before letting it go with a dramatic sigh. "I guess."
Pushing itself up, it couldn't stop itself from smiling, grabbing its phone again as it swung its legs over the side of the bed. Before it could finally get out of bed after who knew how long it'd laid there doing nothing, a hand grabbed its chin and it was being pulled into a kiss. It only lasted for a few seconds, the other's eyes shining as he pulled away, sharp teeth poking out a bit in a grin.
"I do want to go out with you eventually, though," he hummed, letting go of Abolish's face, although it couldn't quite make itself get up yet. "And… maybe meet your friends. I've never really been one for that, but I can try."
He would honestly hesitate to call anyone his friend, really, but he did feel a burst of pride at the fact that he was apparently an exception to the other not wanting to get close to anyone - something he probably should've guessed by now considering he felt the same way about flame. Maybe it was something about the way both of them had grown up similarly, based on what little he knew of flames early life, or maybe every Abolish was naturally just like that.
"You don't have to," he said after a moment, giving a slight shrug as he stood, stretching with his arms above his head. "I don't… mind just being around you. But yeah, sure, we can probably do that…"
He trailed off into a yawn; maybe laying in bed for so long had made him a bit more tired than usual. Leaning over, the other Abolish gave him one last kiss on his cheek, humming, "We can cuddle more once you get back."
Well, that was something to look forward to, at least.
