Utter and complete sorrow is the only thing that could describe how Rogue felt. She felt so much and so little at the same time. As if she was filled with every negative emotion at one time.
*Knock knock* " Rogue... breakfast is ready, are you going to eat?" said Jean through the door waiting for a response. She felt as if something was off and tried to sense if Rogue was even still there
Jean burst into the lounge with a look of panic on her face
"Jean, what's wrong?" Cyclops said standing up to check if she was okay "Rogue is gone!" Jean replied starting to cry in Cyclops' arms
" What do you mean she is gone Jean wasn't she here in her room last night" asked Storm with a worried look on her face
Kurt who was sitting on the couch immediately stood up with many conflicting emotions on his face, most prominently guilt and panic and started to walk out the door.
He immediately was sent into a spiral of thoughts ranging from helpful and lecturing himself. He knew one thing, that if he didn't find her soon someone else would and he didn't want to know who it might be.
He first went to check around the area hoping she just went out to get some air and not to do anything she might regret.
Eventually after 2 days of trying to track her down he finally found her sitting at the base of a tree on a mountain. Seeing her broken face still the same as when he last saw her, he felt an immense feeling of guilt that maybe if he had done better, he could've protected her happiness but now was not the time to do that right now. He could just do it later
"Schwester... are you oka-" "I thought I had everything all figured out between me and him, just bein’ friends. But now I realize how selfish and cruel I was bein’... I didn’t deserve him. I’m not ready to accept that he’s gone, and truth be told, I don’t think I ever will be..." cutting Nightcrawler off as he was speaking
"Schwester I'm so sorry" Nightcrawler said as an uncomfortable silence fell over them for no longer than a couple seconds "You ain’t got nothin’ to be sorry for. You did everythin’ you could’ve done to save anybody you coul in Genosha. None of what happened was your fault, y’hear? Not a bit of it." Rogue reassured him as they both started to silently cry with eachother
"I just... really miss him" She said starting to sob"
"Come here you little furball" she said as a small smile broke across her face to which Kurt then teleported right next to her shoulders touching as she leaned her head on his saying "As long as we're together, we will have nothing to worry about" Rogue said
