Lover girl

Summary:

Just as Coco was frantically looking around for where her Geometry class was, she accidentally bumped into someone, falling straight onto her back.

Coco was about to frantically apologize for her clumsiness as she looked into the most gorgeous lilac eyes she had ever seen. All apologies left the flustered girl's head as her mouth opened and closed like a fish unable to find words.

Or

Coco tries and tries to confess her years-long crush to Agott. Will she succeed?

Chapter Text

Coco tapped her pen on her desk impatiently as she waited for class to end.

The days when it was just nearing the end of the quarter and her winter break felt so far away, even though it was only a couple of weeks. She was also dreading having to start studying for her midterms, which would most likely lead to many sleepless nights.

But that was not the only thing on her mind. There was also the cute girl with what looked like the softest curly black hair sitting across from her in the classroom.

Before Coco started her Freshman year of high school, she rarely had romantic interest in anyone. There was when she was in seventh grade, and she tried having a very short-lived and as intense as you can get as a middle schooler relationship with her friend Tartah, but it ended up not working out very well and was overall very awkward. It was not long after that Coco realized that she preferred girls over boys, and it did not surprise her as much as she felt it should have.

When Coco turned fourteen, her mother got a job offer in a small town not too far away, but far enough that she needed to move schools for her first year of high school. The young girl was a bundle of nerves on the first day, so much so that she lost her schedule. Since Coco was new, she did not know anyone well enough to bring up the courage to ask for help.

The other fellow classmate in question seemed not to care or notice Coco’s head being in the clouds and stared at her with a scowl.

“Hey, watch where you're going,” the most beautiful girl alive (As Coco liked to think) grumbled.

The black-haired girl waited for Coco’s response, her frown deepening, while she was still gaping.

Thankfully, though, Coco finally broke out of her trance and realized she was still dumbly sprawled out on the floor. It was a miracle nothing fell out of her bag. She quickly stood up, dusting herself off.

“O-oh! I'm so sorry I didn't hurt you or anything, right! I'm so clumsy, and I'm really lost right now haha!” The embarrassed girl tried to weakly laugh, but it died in her throat.

The raven-haired girl's expression did not change from her deep scowl as she judged Coco up and down.

They stared at each other in awkward silence for what felt like a hundred years before Coco decided to speak up again.

“Uh, well, I'm Coco! I'm new here, and I just transferred here from-” She was then abruptly cut off.

“Look, I'm already very late to class. Do you need anything else, or can I leave?” the other girl snapped.

Coco felt her face flush, both at embarrassment and shame for upsetting such a pretty girl and also for losing track of time and forgetting about everything else around her.

“Right, class! Yes, um, can you help me, please? I lost my schedule. I have missed Alaria’s class first period. Do you know where that is,”  Coco thought it was already bad enough making a horrible impression with the first person she met, but she did not want to be any later to class on her first day.

“Tch, your luckly I have her class to just follow me,” the raven-haired girl already turned around and walked away before Coco could process what she said.

“Wait!” Coco quickly caught up with her. “Thank you so much. I was so lost. By the way, what's your name?”

Coco did not get a response from the teenage girl for the entire walk to the classroom, and she wondered if she did not hear her or was just ignoring her.

As the girl opened the door to a full classroom, she finally responded.

“Agott, my name is Agott,” She said quietly before heading to an empty desk.

“Agott,” Coco whispered, seeing how it felt saying it. She smiled to herself she liked it.

After that, Coco went through her day with only some minor hiccups. She met all her teachers, and the only problem was when she aboutsulted butchered her pronouncing off mr. Olruggio's name, reading it off the board the first time.

At lunch, Coco was nervous she would not have anyone to sit with, but a kind girl with wild pink hair named Tetia asked her if she wanted to sit with her and her friends. Coco was happy this was another opportunity to make new friends.

Coco was pleasantly surprised that one of the friends at the lunch table who was studying was Agott. The pale girl only glanced up at her once she sat down, and an annoyed look flashed over her face before she went back to her textbook. Also at the table was a quiet but, Coco would find out, short-tempered blue-haired girl named Richeh. Finally, there was a painfully shy boy with his hair mostly covering his face named Euini. He said very few words the first time Coco met him, but with some time, he slowly opened up.

Weeks passed, and Coco became more comfortable with her new life and friends. She quickly became very close with Tetia since the girl's personality was very inviting and energetic. She also became very good friends with Richeh since Coco knew when to level her personality down a bit when being with her.

Agott was much harder, though.

It turned out they actually had all their classes together, but even with that, and sitting next to her at lunch, the other girl wanted nothing to do with Coco.

But this unfortunately did not stop Coco's affection from building.

During class, all the love-struck girl wanted to do was run her fingers over Agott’s soft curls and trace over her freckled arms. It made Coco flustered just thinking about these things, but every day it seemed the feelings became more and more intense.

Coco felt like she was beating a dead horse when she just wanted Agott to acknowledge it. How would she even just make her her friend? One day she asked Tetia how she and Agott became friends, and she said that they had known each other for a very long time and Agott was just very shy and kept to herself a lot, but she would come around eventually.

It has now been a year since the encounter in the hallway, and still not much has changed between the two, and it made the girl’s heart feel sad. Coco was still persistent, though.

Now, as the bell for Coco’s last class rang, she got up and decided.

She was going to confess her crush to Agott by the end of this year.
