Rohanne was the first person Dunk had confessed to, trembling, that she felt herself to be a woman. It was clear that Rohanne was taken aback by this admittance, but she was surprisingly understanding.
Dunk felt so awkward next to her. A highborn woman like Rohanne owed her nothing. They ought not to have spoken. But here Rohanne was, offering her affection and guidance. She’d told Dunk she would have dresses made to fit her. It was more than she could ever have dreamed of. Beautiful, generous Rohanne came from another world entirely, but she had offered Dunk a hand.
