Work Text:
Jowd was on his usual routine, wake up, eat, shower, get ready, get to work. There were more fundamentals to this routine like kissing his wife or other sentimental things. He skipped some of those things. He felt bad for not giving his wife a kiss before he went to work or bed but he just couldn’t. It was because of his memories of the past timeline of the past ten years. He remembered almost everything, he wakes up hoping he forgets more and more but everyday it hits him like a train wreck. Every single day he wakes up he sees his wife laying next to him, he can’t help but view her as a dead corpse. The corpse that made so many things happen that one night. He doesn’t know how long he can hide this from her. He doesn’t know how long he can take it.
Alma shot up, she was more of a morning person making her wake up much more. Upon her sitting up in the queen sized bed she looked over at Jowd, still asleep. He’d look like a giant bear or at least that’s something Alma would compare him to. Alma calmly and sweetly told to him “Jowd, hun, I believe it’s time to wake up!” Jowd heard her, ever so slightly looking at her before slowly sitting up, “Goodmorning” Alma already knew Jowd’s routine and how he’d skipped some of it as of recently, she’d questioned him on it “Now that you’re up darling, I just wanted to ask why you’ve been acting strange lately? You have been acting paranoid lately and have been skipping our morning kisses” Jowd stopped right where he was, frozen, he didn’t think alma would suspect a thing, but her calm demeanor and sweet tone cracked through to him. He couldn’t keep this from her but how would he tell her? It would be too much and how could she believe me? Many thoughts were cycling through Jowd’s head, keeping him stuck thinking to himself and frozen. Alma’s stern, worried words took him out of his trance “Jowd? Are you alright?” Jowd traced back to their conversation “Yes, i’m..” he took a short pause to sigh “I think there’s something we need to talk about, it’s a lot but..” Alma’s words cut through his but not harshly more so softly like a sheep’s soft wool “Jowd, I will understand and support you no matter what you need to tell me, it’s never too much” Jowd started again, he was going to tell her. He had to.
“Now..where should I start”
