Work Text:
They’d been sitting on a random roof for an hour, sharing a blanket and the last of the snacks they'd brought. The city stretched out below them in soft gold, the air cool enough that their shoulders stayed pressed together under the shared warmth. Neither of them had spoken in a while, but the silence was comfortable.
Yuuta finally found the nerve to say it, quiet enough that the wind almost carried the words away.
"I keep thinking about kissing you."
Toge went still.
"Is that...?" Yuuta risked a glance to his friend, and watched as Toge slowly pulled down his scarf with one hand, then reached up with the other to tap two fingers against Yuuta's mouth - both granting permission and asking a question all at once.
"Salmon," he whispered, and the innocuous word was all Yuuta could have hoped for.
Yuuta leaned in.
The kiss was careful, almost shy. Toge’s hand slid into his hair and stayed there, holding him close like he was afraid Yuuta might disappear if he let go.
When they parted, Toge rested their foreheads together and signed one word against Yuuta's chest:
Finally.
Yuuta laughed, soft and relieved, and pulled him back in.
