Pay More Attention To Me

Work Text:

Gen watched as Senku and Tsukasa were talking about something. Probably some kind of plan. He didn't care though. He also totally didn't care about how close Senku was to Tsukasa. His eyeball wasn't twitching because of jealousy. Nah uh. Totally not jealous.

Maybe a little jealous.

Okay he's a lot jealous. He was utterly angered at the fact Tsukasa was so close to Senku. There he was, putting his hand on Senku's shoulder. Gen was trying not to appear jealous. He tried convincing himself that there was nothing going on between them. They were just looking at a map on that table. But Gen couldn't help it.

"If you keep staring at the back of my head, Gen, you're going to burn a hole right through my skull," Senku remarked, not even bothering to look up from the topographical map.

Gen jumped, nearly knocking over a stack of bamboo things Senku had stocked. He quickly smoothed out his expression, sliding into a practiced, feline grace as he leaned against the table, invading the space between the two of them. "My, my, Senku! Such a vivid imagination! I wasn't staring at the back of your head at all!"

Senku gave that knowing smirk he always did. Tsukasa still had a deadpanned look. He walked out now to just avoid any tension or awkwardness. Gen now wrapped his arms around one of Senku's. He grumbled now.

"You're usually better at lying, Gen." Senku said nonchalantly. He didn't pull his arm away, allowing Gen to cling to him like a needy vine. Instead, he used his free hand to trace a line across the map, pointing toward a valley they had yet to scout. "Tsukasa was just pointing out this path here. Nothing else. Also, we need to stop for more fuel for this ship."

Gen sighed, but Senku just pulled him to a chair. He smiled at the fellow two toned haired boy and just shrugged. "It'll give us more time together. If that's all you care about right now." Gen now smiled big. Now that was what he was talking about.
