Work Text:
Fluixon laid across his couch, limbs sprawled out as he clicked time to time on his computer. The device humming silently on his lap. He was working on his architecture project, making up a design for a public plaza. Thomas was supposed to be helping him with this project, but was busy with ‘helping’ Micro with his Greek test up coming. Flux, admittedly, also had to do that test- but he usually aced everything in Greek so he really didn’t bother.
His brow furrowed slightly from a mistake on the doc, muttering corrections under his breath.
“What’chu muttering?” A all too familiar voice sounded from behind Flux.
Saparata leaned on the couches backboard , his brown eyes absorbing the info on his computer. Flux assumed, rightfully so, that Sap’s had no idea what everything meant.
Flux looked up from the device to tilt his chin towards Saps, who leaned down to press his lips to Flux’s. It was a quick peck as he leaned back to observe the reaction. Flux blinked, a flush forming on his cheeks as he grinned. “Sudden but alright”
Saps smiled, sweetly as his fist rested against his cheeks. “You didn’t answer my question”
He hummed. “It was nothing, just a small mistake”
Saparata inched closer, now moving closer to Fluixon as he wrapped his arms around his neck from behind him. Looking down as his white curls fell over his shoulders. “You? Fluixon making a mistake? Never have I heard”
Flux rolled his eyes, but was smiling anyway. He diverted his eyes to Sap’s hair again, watching at how his curls fell past his shoulders.
When was the last time he cut his hair?
Flux adjusted his position on the couch to reach up, hands running through Saparata’s hair. The white haired student didn’t say anything, just smiling at him like an idiot.
“You should cut your hair”
“I like my hair though”
“Hm, didn’t you almost rip out a chunk because you forgot it was long?”
Sap’s blushed and he looked away sheepishly. His freckled arms then moved to cup Flux’s cheeks. Squeezing them till he made fish lips.
“How about we focus on how wonderfully beautiful you are?”
Flux shook the hands off his face, narrowing his eyes. Was he trying to change the topic?
“How about we talk about how you were fixing a car and a belt nearly ripped a chunk out of your head?”
Saps grimaced slightly before sighing and pulling Flux to his chest. The dark haired man groaned at the neediness of the other. Nonetheless, he didn’t stop the action. Allowing himself to be pulled into a half hug- not that he didn’t care. He just hated when Saps would change topics but coddling him.
An idea struck his mind as Saps dug his face into his hair, arms still settled on his neck.
“I can cut your hair” Flux offered.
Saparata’s breath froze, and he lifted his head so Flux could look up at Saps again. White long hair and blonde roots with a pale freckled face greeted Flux.
Along with a blank expression.
Flux grinned. “What?”
“I have never seen you cut hair before”
“Worried I’ll mess up?”
Saps nodded.
Flux rolled his eyes to only to curl a strand around his finger. “My sister used to cut my hair, and she taught me to do it myself so I think I can do yours”
“Cynikka’s a hairdresser?”
“Back to the point”
Saps sighed, his breath hitting Flux’s face as he contemplated the offer. The other chewing his lip absentmindedly- all until he agreed finally after several beats of silence.
That’s how he and Saparata found themselves in the bathroom. Saps sitting on the seat as Flux dug out the scissors from the drawer. The light above the mirror flickered slightly, and Flux was surprised it hasn’t gone out yet.
The apartment was old and musty, so most things seemed on the verge of being destroyed or broken.
Saps hummed a melody as he waited. Flux had immediately recognized it as ‘Small Fragile Hearts’. A song Saps kept on repeat.
Flux fished out some scissors and approached his boyfriend.
His brown eyes immediately tracked to the scissors in his hand. Wincing. “You sure you know what you’re doing?”
“I not giving you a lower taper fade man, calm down. I’m trimming it down if anything”
Saps frowned but didn’t say anything else. Just warily between the scissors and Flux.
The architecture student immediately got to work. Using his free hand to motion for Saps to turn around, which he did, to get better access to his hair. He took the longer portion and started to even it out, bringing the scissors laterally as he watched the white strands fall.
Flux sticked out his tongue, focusing as he continued to take out longer pieces till it was decently short again.
Saparata waited patiently, but from how he nervously scratched between his nail beds, he was nervous. Still.
Fluixon didn’t comment on it first, but after a while he put the scissors down.
Saps perked up. Looking behind him to Flux’s eyes. “You’re done. can I see?”
“No, I still have a section to go”
“Oh, why’d you stop then”
Flux pointed to his hands. “If you continue to scratch at them, I will actually tie your hands together”
Saparata stared for a few seconds, almost analyzing till he broke into a grin. “Awe you care if I accidentally hurt myself?”
Flux rolled his eyes, biting the inside of his cheek. He tentatively inched closer till he could wrap his arms around Saps.
“Bandaids are expensive” was all Flux said.
“I’m sure”
Saps hummed and turned his body so he could press his lips against Flux’s chin, eventually peppering up to his lips to settle there. Flux leaned into it, fluttering his eyes shut. Saps grinned against his lips, hands slipping into his raven hair.
Then, Flux pulled away with a bated breath. Saparata looked disappointed.
“No, no we have to finish your haircut”
Saps heavily sighed, grudgingly turning around again.
“I guesss”
It was cute. The way he gets like this, but Fluixon wouldn’t admit that.
He continued his goal of making Saparata’s hair short again. Snipping away in silence, nothing but the flicker of the light bulb and the shears clipping.
All till it was back to the short-ish length it was to before.
Flux looked at it in different directions before confirming it looked good. White strands of hair littered the bathroom floor, but it was fine. He’ll get Saparata to clean it up.
“Done”
Saps motioned for a mirror, and Flux offered his phone. He clicked on the camera and viewed himself in the mirror, angling his head to view the haircut in its full glory. Fluixon could see himself in the background. Dark hair and tanned skin.
Saps smiled. “It actually doesn’t look that bad!”
“That bad? It looks exceptional thank you very much. Be glad I offer my free services”
Saparata turned around on the seat, motioning for the other to come closer. “I would never have you do something for free, I do infact have payment”
Flux raised a brow, but complied anyway. Shuffling so he could lean down.
Saps cupped his cheeks sweetly, blinking through his blonde eyelashes. “Thank you, for cutting my hair”
It was Flux’s turn to look disappointed. “Yeah I’m never giving you a favor ever again”
Saparata blinked and he nervously laughed before Flux could wiggle out of his grip.
“No no I’m joking my love! C’mere so I could kiss you” he made grabby hands.
Flux hated how he stayed. But loved how he was absolutely stupid in love with Saparata.
