Viturska Lab Log 1, Orbiting Kron
Life support systems are functional. Communications functional. Lifegas levels high. Nanites seeded. Viturska Lab is now fully operational. The Second Phase of Project Jarras has begun. Under the lead of Head Scientist Jarraku we aim to discover the reason behind the highly unusual quantities of “Dark Matter Events” on Kron. As you may know Dark Matter is what we use to power phase jumps without it Vasar enough could not move our mighty Dark Fleet. We need it.

Unlike Home Vasar, Kron is a continental planet. On Vasar our settlements are emplaced upon slags of molten rocks held together by nanites, separated only by a river of lava. On Kron, where the geology is much more stable, the landmasses are truly gigantic separated by equally gargantuan bodies of water. They have as much of water as we do lava on Vasar. My Team notes though the air is thick and contains enough nutrients that our people could survive on land without the need for genemodding

The People of Kron, are like the Vasari bipedal. They have evolved into a lifeform of protein covering upon a calcium skeleton. Protein which come in different colours. They are a hardy race, warlike and before they were blessed with Vasar they were divided into multiple warring factions competing over resources and dominance. Much like home, one would suppose. But unlike the people of Kron, our race also evolved a layer of hardy exoskeleton protecting us from the elements and a much larger brain giving us the greater intelligence to take to the stars and thus the right to rule the Lesser races of this galaxy.

Meeting with Karastra. Angry at our lack of progress. The Lords need Dark Matters. Without it there is no phase jump and our Navy might as well be metal junks orbiting Vasar. We hear murmurs. The Proclamations may remain positive but the Coalition is advancing…

I’ve been told by Karastra to stop my little side project researching Kronite society. He can go drown in ice. We share so much similarities with this lesser race that I cannot help but find them fascinating. They build cities of glass, steel and concrete, something impossible on Vasar where all those materials would melt. All we’ve got back on Vasar is a few lowly nanite-enforced settlements or caverns where it’s most stable. Perhaps that is why our people took to the stars. Much as it is calming, soothing to breath the gas of the Great Red River we could never built something impressive on Vasar.

Women, specifically women of a younger age seem to play a prominent role in Kron society. Another baffling choice. Perhaps that is why they never conquered the stars and instead are deep core mining for the Greatest Stellar Power in this Galaxy?

Again no progress being made regarding source of Dark Matter disturbances. Though I have learnt that young Kronite females made up a significant portion of their current military force. Fascinating. They would squeal before a single Vasari Lander. No wonder these people were conquered.

We have bought in several Kronite females for...experimentation. They are scared but cooperative. Theory is that something about the Kronite structure generates high amounts of Dark Matter. Thankfully the Vasari are master Gene splicers. We hope to reverse engineer their bio structure

A strange alien appeared at our Lab today. White and quadripedal. Not identifed with any citizen species, potentially extra galactic.But seems familiar with Kronite technology. Advises we need to induce emotional distress in our subjects

We have completely lost contact with Kron. It can no longer be detected on phase comms. It is as though the planet never existed. I have gathered all free forces. We will assemble at X and phase at D hour. What even is happening?
