Work Text:

Parrot dreaded having to actually live these days.

Nothing went accordingly. Everything just… Went worse and worse. How long could he even keep it up ?

Parrot inhaled some quick and short breaths before he got cut short and gagged. Saliva dripping down from his chin,

Slouched over the toilet, he vomited out everything he consumed. Only stopping when he was just dry heaving. He stared at the disgusting soup in front of him before pushing his body off the ground. He closed the lid and flushed it out of his sight. He took a few steps and stopped , standing in front of the mirror by the sink.

He looked disgusting. No, horrendous. A really bad eyesore to look at.

Black circles, tired and reddened eyes. Oh the misery… His wings , the feathers…

Parrot shakily inspected his state, trying his best at not to gag at the sight of himself  as he grabbed onto the sink for support, his hands shaking. He lowered his gaze and starred down for a bit, took a strained breath in and ran the faucet open, rinsing his mouth from the remaining shit that was left and splashing his face with some good cold water. It should wake him up a bit.

He turned back and started walking out of the bathroom, grabbing a towel from the ground as he did and dried his face and hands with it. Stepping out of the bathroom to the amazing view of his lonely, in need of cleaning small apartment. All messy around, everything everywhere and rubbish on the table piling up against all the other trash he had in here.

He’ll take care of them all later, including himself. He just… Doesn’t have the energy for any of it and…

He had stuff to do.

He had to leave the house soon either.

Sigh

Parrot pulled his phone out and checked the time,    6.00 AM.

His classes started at 7.30 AM.

So like always, Parrot took his sweet time trying to find his stuff and his bag before he got to leave the house. He didn’t bother changing out of his current clothes. Baggy and comfortable clothes were good enough. He didn’t care how he looked like… If he couldn’t see himself then it was okay and it was all that mattered… If he couldn’t see it then it didn’t exist.  Except for his wings which he could see but is ‘fixed’ if he kept it tightly pressed against his back, and a jacket over it.

….

The bell rung.

Parrot barely made it on time, he missed the first bus and had to run after getting off the second bus for him to be able to arrive in his first class just a minute before the teacher came. Explaining why he was so out of breath and almost wheezing by the time he finally got to sit.

He sat by the middle rows of the class. Putting down his bag by his side and took out a notebook and a singular pencil.

‘Who needs more anyways’

As he starred around in boredom, looking at anything but the living things sitting with him inside the class, considerably called ‘classmates’ as most says so. He didn’t care about any of them, if not obvious enough, none of them were his actual friends. He will never consider someone as his true friend again.

Gosh thought he was starving. His will to eat was non-existent because of his constant nightmares. Maybe a snack would be good, better than forcing himself to eat or not eating at all.

Parrot leaned back against the chair as the teacher started to explain… Something… Parrot couldn’t hear it clearly from the ringing in his ear and it didn’t take long before he fell asleep on the desk, using his arms as a pillow. His body felt heavy and his eyes felt like they would never open again as they shut.

By the time Parrot woke up, the class was soon to finish.

He discreetly raised his head from the desk and extended his arms under the desk. Looking around, everyone was taking notes frantically. Did the teacher give an assignment? Oh well, he’ll ask someone about it later.

Parrot watched the teacher as she really seriously spoke and moved, talking about the importance of something that he didn’t care enough to listen and hear.

Finally the bell rang and Parrot packed his stuff back up and walked out of the class.

Walking down the hall… He was thinking about stopping by his locker, getting a book in there to read and also grabbing a granola bar he had put there last week. To his luck, as he got closer to where his locker was, he started to hear noises. Noises of other students that were increasing with each step he took.

At the corner Parrot stopped and starred at the fight that was going on in the hallway.

Now that was… Fun to watch!

Only if the teachers didn’t literally break the fight apart the second it started.

Parrot hummed, watching as the crowd of students died down as quickly as it gathered and the hallway soon was back to normal.

Better for him. He walked to his locker, 2nd from the start. He entered the pin and opened it, lazily inspecting what he had in there.

Parrot yawned as he raised his hand and grabbed a nut mix granola bar he had in his locker and pocketed it, now for which book he wanted to read–

“YOOO!!  Parot!! What’s up?!”

What a nuisance.

“It’s Parrot, with two R’s bro.”

Parrot sighed, closing his locker as Theo crossed his arms and leaning sideways to the lockers.

“Oh,well anyways! Did you see that fight?! Derapchu said it was actually just two cats who started beefin’ ! And I think he’s right.”

Parrot chuckled,

“Pfft– What, how? And I thought there were actual students throwing hands at each other."

Theo laughed and shook his head.

“Dude, I thought the same! Because of the crowd too I couldn’t see what was going on but then I saw Minute and Grox, they both had a cat in their arms! Apparently one stole the others’ treat.”

“You’re kidding bro no way. All those just because of petty cats?”

“Yes!!”

Theo laughed again, Parrot laughing with him as Parrot turned to leave for his next class.

“Alright bro, I’ll see you later.”

Parrot spoke before he walked off.

“Dudeee!! Come on, I was gonna tell you more!”

Sure, sure you would. As if I had even considered you as a friend.
