the sound was subtle at first just the heavy unnatural hum of obsidian locking into place but before parrot could even turn around the light vanished. one second he was tracking wifies every move then the world had shrunken into a pitch black obsidian platform.
“wifies?” parrot called out the silence almost deafening until..he spoke
“don’t waste your durability parrot” wifies voice echoed against the cold hard obsidian walls keeping parrot trapped. “i’ve already showed you how the paragon is built. it’s best you stay here for now.”
“you mean im staying here?” parrot looked around to find anything that would help him escape but nothing. only a redstone compartment with sticky pistons and slime blocks that wifies uses to bring food to him. “i’ve already been here long enough wifies please let me come out” parrot begged trying to see if the old wifies was still there.
wifies didn’t respond. why would he. he and parrot both knew this wasn’t just for protection this was control. controlling parrot from the outside world so he was wifies. only wifies.
“this is only for your protection.” wifies lied even if parrot knew he was. “besides the other members will only take advantage of you again. do you really want that parrot. instead of being ridiculed by others you can stay here..alone with me..safe..” parrots chest tightened. he hit the obsidian with the palm of his hand but due to the mining fatigue he couldn’t break it. he couldn’t break anything, even if he tried. “safe?” parrot repeated “this isn’t safety wifies. it’s a cage.”
“parrot, a cage keeps wild animals locked up.” wifies hesitates before starting to walk down the stairs to continue talking. “think of this as a vault. they are two completely different things.” he then pauses. “eat the food parrot. i need to deal with some things.” with that wifies was gone. parrot wanted to jump off, to scream, to tell someone that he was still alive but it was very unlikely people even noticed. he would have jumped off. if the platform wasn’t so high and if there wasn’t also lava underneath. parrot glared at the food in front of him, the cooked steak and bread wifies had brought him. but he didn’t eat it. he looked in his inventory and saw it.
the spyglass.
this spyglass wasn’t just ANY spyglass. it was a gift, the gift that wifies had gave him as a symbol of their friendship before faking his death. before the toxic obsession he had with parrot.
sometimes parrot wishes he changed back.
before he could take another step wifies had flown over to where parrot was with his elytra and fireworks.
“beautiful isn’t it?” wifies voiced heavily laced with false mockery.
but when parrot looked down he found only artificial biomes wifies had created. from jungle to plains to cherry grove. whatever biome that could spawn in the overworld wifies had built with all surrounded by more tall walls of obsidian
“id knew you would get bored of the platform eventually so i built this where you can run free parrot.” wifies said smoothly. “a whole world right here parrot. nobody can touch you while your here. the paragon is thousands of blocks away from spawn.”
wifies unequipped his elytra and threw everything in the lava. “look parrot i’m not trying to hurt you. if you start fresh then so do i.” he turned back to look at parrot. “i’ll show you around in a minute but i need to make sure you don’t have anything in your inventory.” parrot followed wifies where he had to fill his inventory with boats. he realized the spyglass took an inventory space so he couldn’t hold every boat but hoped wifies didn’t notice.
but he did
why wouldn’t he notice
“the spyglass parrot i know you have it”
parrot rolled his eyes before throwing the spyglass off the building but it fell on the stairs. “not like i needed it anyway” parrot grumbled before following wifies to do some mining and resource gathering but when wifies wasn’t watching, parrot had snuck to go get the spyglass.
when parrot thought wifies wasn’t going to find him, he starting building up to escape the prison. but then some invisible guards threw a slow falling potion and hit parrot off the tower. “great of course he would have guards..”
parrot hit the ground softly but the impact still knocked the air out of his lungs. “great” he muttered under his breath. he got up and wiped the dirt off his iron armor. the guards had already fled before he could get a glimpse of them, even if he tried he couldn’t be able to see since they have invisibility potions applied.
he wanted to run until he heard footsteps when he looked up he saw him.
wifies
“parrot” wifies called out
parrot then sighed “wifies what did you expect. for me to be in this prison like a little trapped bird in a cage??”
He paused. “Parrot don't think of this as a prison. Think of it as a...home in a way.. A place you feel safe."
Parrot sighed “wifies do you know what the worst thing you THINK your doing for me..?”
Wifies looked up at parrot
“You act like you're doing this for something good..like you WANT me to be miserable and-”
Wifies interrupted him “-i AM parrot, this is for your safety-”
Parrot interrupted “yeah for my safety! LIKE IF MY VERY OWN FRIENDS WERE GOING TO BRUTALLY MURDER ME!..” he paused for a minute, so did wifies. “..my friends, my freedom, my life.. is gone..all because you wanted to {quote unquote} KEEP ME SAFE!” parrot turned around to face away from wifies before wiping a loose tear from his eye; he didn't want wifies to see him weak.
He reached in his inventory to pull out the spyglass and look up at the sky, or artificial sky he didn't even know anymore, “i-i just want the old wifies back.”
Wifies tensed as he locked eyes on it. “Parrot, give me the spyglass.” his tone was stern
“No.. my best friend Wifies gave this to me, not you.”
Parrot could see the words stinged wifies a little.
“I-i know that parrot..just..” he shaked his head a little “just hand it over before you get hurt.”
“You used to care” parrot continued
“I still do parrot.” wifies reassures
“Yeah care about KEEPING ME TRAPPED more like.”
Wifies just stayed silent
Parrot could hear his footsteps getting closer before he said something
“Dont.”
Wifies stopped as parrot clenches the spyglass in his hand
“You don't get to say my name like everythings normal wifies.”
“I never said it w-”
“THEN LET ME OUT WIFIES!” parrot interrupted, his voice echoed through the artificial biome
Wifies stayed silent. There wasn't really anything to say. He knew parrot was right; he just didn't want to accept it.
Parrot stayed there for a while before wifies leaves. Wifies went to his house he made in a cherry grove forest and laid in his bed. Parrot on the other hand was staring up at the stars in his spyglass.
“I know there's a way to get out..”
