Keonho had to be the prettiest guy Seonghyeon had ever seen.
Seonghyeon had never believed it was possible—never thought that Keonho would happen to him. Seonghyeon wasn't exactly the friendliest, most personable guy—or the coolest. He hated going out, preferred his company over others', and his bedroom had been his most favorite place in the world until Keonho decided to show up at the cafe he worked at one Saturday when he wasn't occupied with studying, politely ordering two lattes for him and the younger girl at his side. His eyes had reflected caramel brown from the setting sun outside the broad windows, and Seonghyeon—embarrassingly—immediately became so transfixed he accidentally spilled some coffee as he prepared Keonho's order.
"Oppa, he's weird. But he is cute," Seonghyeon heard the girl whisper behind his back. Seonghyeon's ears burned, and then burned some more when he heard Keonho's response.
"Shh, Miyeon. And yeah, he is."
Seonghyeon hadn't known if Keonho had meant for him to hear those words (he swore he wasn't usually that delusional), but after Keonho's younger sister left, Keonho appeared all of a sudden while Seonghyeon wiped the counter, a note in hand.
Seonghyeon, in his stupid little apron and stupid little hat, gulped, Keonho's beauty unlike anything else. How was he even more god-like up close?
"Can I help you?" Seonghyeon asked, dryer than the Sahara desert. His uncle had always joked he'd live a life of solitude if he kept treating everyone like they had the plague, and Seonghyeon desperately wished he'd listened more to the man.
Keonho bit his lip. He seemed a little shy, even (Seonghyeon really needed to stop being delusional). Then, Keonho slid the white paper over to him.
'The name's Keonho. You kinda misspelt it.'
Seonghyeon tried to clear the stubborn lump out of his throat. "Oh. Sorry—"
Keonho gestured at the line of numbers scribbled at the bottom. Seonghyeon's heart soared.
A month of cautious, awkward texts and short, giggly calls over the phone later, and Seonghyeon decided to bite the bullet and finally ask Keonho if he wanted to see a movie sometime. It was lame, it was dumb, but Keonho had miraculously agreed. He wore a lime green hoodie as they went to see the new Spiderman movie and his hand found Seonghyeon's thigh halfway into it, his breath warming Seonghyeon's nape as he confessed he'd already seen the film. He just wanted to spend time with Seonghyeon.
Seriously, Seonghyeon had never been the cliche, sentimental type. He didn't have a romantic bone in his body, didn’t know how to talk to people and literally had the worst fashion sense, but the way Keonho looked into his eyes right then, deep and smitten, had Seonghyeon's heart speeding like crazy inside his chest. Had him feeling like he mattered.
Now, they were kissing in the dark, the privacy of the last row allowing Keonho to scoot closer and hold the back of Seonghyeon's head. His soft lips tasted like the cold cherry soda they just shared. Seonghyeon was probably the luckiest guy in the entire world.
Seonghyeon's uncle rarely was home—and Seonghyeon literally had no friends he could chill out with—so in the haze of the moment, he asked Keonho if he'd like to come over to his place.
"I don’t mean to be weird—or seem like I’m moving too quickly," Seonghyeon blurted. Keonho just kept staring at him, his severely long lashes and kind eyes the cutest thing ever. Seonghyeon's face stung with heat. "I just... thought it'd be nice. Yeah."
Keonho's smile had Seonghyeon smiling too, his ears blushing tomato red. "You want me to stay over."
"I mean... yes." Seonghyeon's awkward self couldn't resist an even more awkward cough. "That is—if you want."
Like the universe was making fun of Seonghyeon and his strange attempts at courting Keonho, the dark sky started pouring as soon as he and Keonho stepped out of the movie theater.
Neurotic to a fault, Seonghyeon panicked, scrambling for his phone. "It never mentioned this on the weather forecast."
Keonho just laughed, mesmerizing and devastatingly beautiful as always, before dragging Seonghyeon by the hand into the rain.
"My car's nearby, anyway," Keonho yelled under the downpour, and hell, if this were anyone else, Seonghyeon would have panicked some more—maybe even hate the person for all eternity. Instead, Seonghyeon laughed too, his eyes solely on Keonho as they ran, and he squeezed Keonho's hand tighter.
He didn't feel like ever letting go.
Seonghyeon was thankful he had an obsession with keeping his surroundings spotless, because Keonho observed everything, from the photos on the wall, to the homely furniture, like he hadn't ever been inside a house before.
"Just trying to take it all in," Keonho explained as he pulled off his sneakers, exposing his Snoopy themed socks. Cute. "Don't even know why. I'll have other chances to do this, anyway."
Seonghyeon almost choked on nothing. Before Keonho could notice, he rushed into his bedroom and rummaged through his closet for what Keonho could wear, quickly settling on a shirt, sweatpants, and brand new underwear before Keonho could begin to suspect he'd somehow died in there.
"Uh, here." Seonghyeon soon handed Keonho the outfit with a towel on top. The thought of Keonho in his clothes left his face hot.
"Could I take a shower?"
Seonghyeon's face burned a hundred times worse. "Uh—sure. It's that way." He pointed to the corridor at the left, limbs flapping like a fish. "Enjoy." Seonghyeon might be insane.
Keonho grins at him, even when Seonghyeon is fucking soaked like crazy and super red and has the worst social skills ever known to mankind.
"Thanks, Hyeon." Keonho lightly punches his shoulder and takes off, and Seonghyeon can only stand there for a minute, relishing Keonho's touch.
Thanks, Hyeon.
Keonho, because he apparently enjoyed always giving Seonghyeon near heart attacks in his presence, had made himself comfortable on Seonghyeon's bed in the few minutes Seonghyeon had left to go get him a glass of water.
"Still can't believe you wear glasses." Keonho beamed, accepting the cup. "Thanks, by the way."
Seonghyeon could only manage a shrug as he adjusted the specs, all of a sudden self-conscious of his messy hair and his loose, ratty tank top and pants.
Keonho settled the glass on the dresser with a refined ease Seonghyeon was almost jealous of, before pulling Seonghyeon to the bed by the arm. Seonghyeon's heart skipped when Keonho gently hugged and massaged his side, his chin nestled on his bare shoulder. He now smelled like Seonghyeon, too.
"Hope you don't mind," Keonho whispered, his mouth grazing Seonghyeon's neck, sending chills down his spine. He made the mistake of looking Keonho right in the eye as he said that, and—good god, Keonho really was gorgeous.
"You could kiss me again, if you want," Keonho said, eyes dark.
Seonghyeon listened. His breath hitched at the contact, cradling Keonho's face while Keonho smiled against his mouth, abruptly hoisting them straight into the bed. Seonghyeon didn't stop kissing Keonho, though. Couldn't.
"Apparently I am now into guys with glasses," Keonho breathed as they parted, enamored, staring up at Seonghyeon. Seonghyeon couldn't look away, either.
Seonghyeon's hand found Keonho's own across the sheets. "Why did you..." He swallowed. "Why'd you give me your number?"
Keonho stared at him like he'd just asked why the sky was blue.
"I just—I never expected it," Seonghyeon confessed, looking away. "Expected a guy like you, to like me."
Keonho wound his arms around Seonghyeon's back. "This is so embarrassing—but that day I'd given you my number, I had to bring my sister along, for moral support." He chuckled. "I was so nervous, I never would've done it, otherwise."
Keonho's admission shocked Seonghyeon, but he didn't have the time to ponder it, because Keonho pulled Seonghyeon close to his chest, his eyes bright.
"Now, can we go back to kissing? You're really good at that."
Seonghyeon laughed, his heartbeat louder than the rainfall outside the window, and then leaned in. "...Okay."
