Chapter Text
Wemmbu didn't know what to do.
He somehow ended up on the ship of one of his nemesis and was heading on an adventure to search for a hidden treasure.
The worst part was that it was only the two of them and Jaden had grown accustomed to the invisible knight and started calling him Myst.
Wemmbu would rather kill Jaden than be given a nick name from him but he's gonna do everything to get boomie out of the way and Jaden turned out to be useful because he knows his way around on the great sea.
So he doesn't mind.
Adding to the list of problems he has to drink invis potions each 8 hours.
Ignoring all these facts he's been observing Jaden for some time now.
To begin Jaden seems more tired than ever and has stopped wearing short sleeves though Wemmbu remembered him saying that he hates long sleeves because it gets too hot.
Secondly Jaden looks like he's worn to his bones and his skin is really pale. He also seems to have lost a lot of weight.
No matter these observations Wemmbu still didn't know what to do so he went into the crow's nest (that place on a mast from where you can look in any direction you know what i mean? no? search it up.).
The view was good but bad because he could only see the sea.
Blue everywhere.
Everywhere.
Somehow it made him regret going invis.
The wind made his hair flutter like flying with an elytra would have. If he wouldn't be invisible he could be flying right now and mace some random chungie.
He felt a little ache building up in his chest.
But before it could spread he heard a loud thud coming from the room of the capitaine.
At first he didn't think anything was wrong and went on with his thoughts but shortly after he caught a faint scent of metal in the air.
Blood.
He smelled blood.
But where was it coming from? Wemmbu descended from the crow's nest and headed to the place from where the faint metal scent was coming from.
The room of the capitaine.
Wemmbu didn't know if he had the right to open the door but still opened it.
The sight inside was horrifying.
Jaden was leaning against the wall in a pool of blood which was flowing out of the cuts on his arms.
He was shaking strongly.
The shard of glass in his right hand showed that the cuts were self-inflicted.
Jaden was breathing at a really fast pace but it wasn't steady.
It sounded like he was choking.
Wemmbu didn't know what to do.
He never dealt with something like that before and only knew some random facts from reading Ao3 till 4am in the End base before he went invis.
The only thing where he was sure of was that he had to do something.
So he slowly approached Jaden with one arm extended and started calling Jaden's name.
Jaden didn't seem to hear nor see him.
Wemmbu slowly touched the shoulder of Jaden's healthy arm.
Jaden visibly flinched away from the touch but Wemmbu saw a flicker of recognition in Jaden's eyes.
“ Myst?”
Jaden whispered and almost choked on his own breath.
“ Jaden, do you hear me? Everything is alright just breath in and breath out. Breath in and out. Repeat after me. Everything will be alright.”
Wemmbu continued reassuring Jaden.
And it somehow seemed to work because Jaden's breath got steadier. But his general condition was still not optimal.
Not even good.
Wemmbu started rubbing reassuring circles on Jaden's shoulder.
He was even paler than before.
Probably from all that blood loss.
He looked like he hadn't slept for a while, his eye rings were darker than a starless night.
His breath still hitched sometimes and he trembled faintly.
Wemmbu could now only focus on Jaden's arm.
There were big and deep cuts. But it looked like they were the only ones. That was good news.
Wemmbu was not sure what to do, so he looked around the bathroom. The sink was covered with blood.
It somehow even had droplets on the mirror.
The rest of the bathroom was looking clean.
Wemmbu suddenly remembered that under the sink was a first aid kit.
“ I'm gonna get you some bandages. And I'm gonna clean your wounds. But I need you to stand up. Is that alright? “
Jaden nodded slowly.
Wemmbu took that as a go and went to get the bandages.
Then, he helped Jaden to stand up and helped him to move to the sink.
Jaden was still shaking and had problems standing by himself.
So Wemmbu steadied him.
As they arrived at the sink, Wemmbu turned the water on. ( yes, they had running water on the ship, and yes it makes sense.)
Wemmbu was still shocked because he didn't expect Jaden to cut himself.
The captain was always strong and stayed calm in every situation.
He splashed Jaden's arm with the water and gently washed it off.
It was then that Wemmbu really felt how skinny the pirate's arm was.
It was concerningly skinny, not the healthy one. Despite the revelation he turned the water off.
He took a clean bandage and before bandaging the cuts he disinfected them.
“ Thank you, Myst…” Jaden muttered.
"Don't worry about it Jaden. Do you need something ?”
Wemmbu looked down to the captain half laying on the sink.
Jaden looked away but didn't answer.
So Wemmbu picked Jaden up.
The pirate made a surprised sound and tensed up but wrapped his healthy arm around Wemmbu's shoulder.
Wemmbu brought Jaden to the kitchen and let him down on the couch.
“Have you eaten anything ?”
Jaden looked away again, but proceeded to shake his head.
Wemmbu looked at Jaden and opened the fridge.
To his surprise there was actually food there.
So he took everything that he needed to cook soup.
Every five minutes he glanced around his shoulder to check on Jaden.
The latter seemed to be spiraling.
So Wemmbu went back to him and hugged him.
It was an impulsive decision.
But it was the only thing that came to his mind.
Jaden stiffened again but he slowly melted into the touch.
He had never seen The pirate so miserable.
He wanted to help him.
He doesn't even know when he had that change of mind.
Now that he thinks of it, when did he stop hating the captain?
He couldn't stand him.
If he could he would have killed him on sight.
So when did these feelings vanish?
To the point that he actually held Jaden in his arms, rubbing reassuring circles in his back.
