Telling a friend

Summary:

Holmes proposed to Carisi and now Carisi is at Svu, getting ready to tell Rollins about his upcoming wedding.

And well, she doesn't exactly know that he's even in a relationship, let alone with Holmes.

Notes:

Hi all! Wrote this quickly so hope you enjoy. I wrote it directly on ao3 so I have no idea how many words it is as I write this lol.

Work Text:

Carisi was sitting in the station, unsure on what to do or say as he stared down at his hands, rubbing them together before letting out a soft sigh.

The day before Isaiah had arrived at their apartment, sweating and upset from his recent trial, told Carisi that life is short and got down on one knee, asking Carisi to be his one and only for the rest of their lives. And Carisi, cause he knew there was no other answer he would ever going to give, said yes immediately.

So now he sat there in the Svu station, rubbing his hands together and trying not to touch the metallic ring that laid on his left hand and waiting to tell Rollins the news. Now just the news that he and Isaiah were getting married, but also the fact that they are even together at all in the first place.

Was he worried? Yes, most definitely, but this was Rollins, she wouldn't judge him and Isaiah, would she?

Carisi bit his lip, letting out a soft sigh and pulling out his phone as he stared at his text messages to Isaiah, a soft smile forming on his face.

"Carisi? Is everything alright?"

His eyes wandered to the sound of a voice as he met the sight of Rollins staring down at him, a slightly confused but still happy expression on her face. Carisi stood up, turning his phone off and slipping it back into his pocket quickly as he looked at her, seeing the concern that was beginning to bloom across her face.

"Fine, everything's great, I, uh, I need to talk to you, privately."

Rollins looked around the station before she nodded, taking Carisi to the nearest room before closing the door after them, crossing her arms quickly.

"Okay, talk, what's going on?"

At first, the words didn't come to Carisi, his lips felt dry and it felt like his first day as a lawyer all over again. He rubbed his neck, his lips opening to speak before Rollins' eyes widened, her hands uncrossing and her mouth opening in surprise.

"Carisi? Are you married?"

Carisi pulled his hand back from his neck, staring at the ring on his left hand before he softly sighed, letting out a soft chuckle.

"Uh, engaged actually, last night."

Rollins let out a sigh of disbelief.

"I didn't even know you were dating anyone!" She said, surprise still brimming in her voice.

"We haven't exactly been open about it." He admitted. Rollins let out a burst of laughter, gently punching Carisi's forearm.

"Well damn, good for you Carisi, what's her name?"

And this was it, the moment. The very moment in which Carisi either loses Rollins forever or have someone he knows will always care for him.

"Isaiah."

Rollins' head tilted.

"I'm sorry, I must have misheard, what?"

Carisi wet his lips, his voice slightly firmer than before.

"I'm marrying Isaiah Holmes."

For a second, nothing happened. Rollins stared at Carisi with a confused expression and Carisi just stood there, frozen and absolutely terrified.

He expected the worst, he had always expected the worst but instead, something else happened.

Rollins' lips curled into a grin, her eyes brightened and her arms moved, wrapping their way all around Carisi's rigid body and letting out a light chuckle.

"Oh my God, Carisi! I'm so happy for you!"

"You're not upset?" He asked, almost immediately regretting it as he said so. She looked up at him with confusion on her face.

"Why would I be upset? You're my best friend, Carisi. I mean, granted I didn't know you're gay but still, I'm glad you're happy."

He smiled. "Well I'm actually bisexual but thanks Rollins."

She placed a hand on his shoulder.

"No problem, Carisi." She said, nodding as silence fell between them before a chuckle softly ripped its way out her lips. "Now, let me treat you to lunch while you share every detail about Holmes to me."

"Rollins!"

She laughed.
