The Badger and The Serpent

Summary:

Everyone knew Cedric Diggory. The golden boy of Hufflepuff. He was kind, talented and destined for something great. But fewer people knew his younger sister.

Eloise Diggory had always been everything a Hufflepuff was supposed to be; Loyal, trusting, and perhaps a little too willing to see the good in everyone.

Draco Malfoy was everything she had been taught to stay away from. A Slytherin. Cruel when he wanted to be and carrying a family name that seemed to decide who he was before he ever had the chance to.

They shouldn't have liked each other and for a long time, they didn't.
But as Eloise's once simple world begins to unravel she discovers that good and evil aren't always separated as neatly as Hufflepuff yellow and Slytherin green.
Sometimes the person you're supposed to hate is the one who understands you most.

And sometimes even a badger can learn to love a serpent.

Chapter 1: A/N

Hi! Firstly, I just want to say thank you so much for choosing to read my fanfiction. This is the first one I've ever written that I'm actually publishing which is really exciting and also slightly terrifying. Usually I start writing them and give up however I've recently gotten back into my fangirl era of Harry Potter and rewatched all the films and want to start rereading the books too. I also started reading fanfics again and after reading quite a few I decided I finally wanted to make my own!

I'm writing this purely for fun and because I love Harry Potter and wanted to immerse into the world more. Please don't expect anything absolutely perfect, I'm still learning as I go and there will probably be little mistakes here and there, but I'm really excited to share the story I have planned. That being said, please be respectful to me and any commenters, readers, etc. However, constructive criticism is welcome!

I will be uploading a chapter per week - Every Tuesday and Friday. However, if I get multiple chapters ahead, for example I'm currently two chapters ahead, then I will publish an extra one! I've made this schedule as I go to uni in September and I don't want to promise multiple chapters in one week when I don't know if I'll have time to write that many at once and don't want to be rushing and make it late or anything. I'd rather it be on time and well written for you guys :)

I'll also be trying my best to look for grammar errors or spelling mistakes but if you see any I've missed don't hesitate to let me know and I will fix them.

There will obviously be changes and additions to canon to make Eloise and her storyline fit into the world, but I'm going to try to stay true to the original story and characters wherever I can.

The story will follow Eloise through her 4th year till the 7th year!

I'm not very good at making edits and don't really have any idea where to start but I will try to!
