“Rei? What are you doing out here?”
The orange girl in question was standing over a cliff edge by the house Flower and her had rented out for the holidays, thinking it would be a nice getaway from the busy musical life they were used to. Rei seemed to be looking at the ocean as snow fell down, with her arms crossed in front of her, as she turned around to lock eyes with her girlfriend.
“Flower. What is it?”
“Rei, you shouldn’t be out here, I don’t want you to rust. Come back ins-”
“NO!”
She was cut off by the humanoid’s yelling.
“I’m done with you telling me what I can and can’t do. It’s all ‘ooh watch out! Your wires!’ or, ‘your circuits will be fried! Don’t do that!’ and it’s always you, you, you telling me what to do. I’m sick of it.”
If looks would kill, Flower would be on the floor by now.
“It’s because you’re not a human, Rei, you need to be more careful with how you treat yourself.”
“Oh so NOW I’m not human? Was I human when you fucked me last night? How about when you told me I was beautiful? Were you lying, then, about everything I thought I knew?”
“You…”
“Cat got your tongue?”
Flower sighed in annoyance.
“Okay, fine. You’re not human! There! I said it. Humans have hopes. Feelings. Wants. You may as well be nothing more than a sentient toaster.”
Rei’s pupils shrunk at that, expression going from rage to confusion to a strange clarity.
“Well, Flower.
“I hope you die.
“I feel like you deserve it.
“And I want…”
She paused.
“I want to swim.”
With that, the ̶r̶o̶b̶o̶t̶ ̶g̶i̶r̶l̶ thing went limp, tumbling of the sheer cliff face, miraculously avoiding the jagged rocks poking out of the water’s surface, but collapsing face-first into the waves.
Flower waited.

{YOUR ORDER HAS ARRIVED.}
It was so cute seeing Rei’s parts lying there in a box for Flower to assemble. She felt a little for the previous version, though… just as she was starting to like it as well.
She’d just have to keep trying, then.
Funny thing about robots is you can always get them back, in one way or another.
