Work Text:

Who am I now in this world without her?

It’s been a few days since Malleus’s overblot. Since we escaped the dreams. But I can’t help but feel empty. I left her behind. I fell in love with one of the dreamselves. Riddle’s dreamself. She was so different from him. I don’t know if I’ll love anyone else. Everything felt so right with her. I’ll never get over her.

Petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her

Am I wrong for wishing the dream was longer? I wanted more time to spend with her. I know it’s for the better that the dreams are over, but I just wish I could’ve been with her for longer. She was only against us because of Malleus, right? If only I could’ve stayed in that dream with her.

What does it matter? It’s already done

I’ll never see her again. I’m going to be stuck yearning for a girl who doesn’t exist. She can’t come back. Everyone’s happy, except me. I just have to accept it. But how do you accept something like this? She only exists in my memories now.

Now I’ve got to be there for her normal self

I still see her in him sometimes. They’re… technically the same person, after all. But they’re not. I rarely speak with Riddle anymore. He reminds me too much of her. I should stay with him more often. He needs friends more than she does. I’d do anything to see her again. But I know I can’t.

It’s… over, isn’t it?

Isn’t it?

Isn’t it over?

It’s over, isn’t it?

Why can’t I move on?
