He'd been wrong.
The Cold War had been a beast in of itself. The western world stuck in a kind of forceful peace, while war, instigated by those so-called peaceful states, raged elsewhere. He sure as hell would have liked to punch a few US presidents in the face.
"Operation Desert Shield" felt like a mean joke, too. Because of course they'd once more twisted the narrative of his story to fit the propaganda of the time. Even if the war could be justified.
If Bucky was there, he'd laugh at it. As is, Steve was just so damn tired.
