The metallic stench of blood hung heavy in the air, barely masking the fragile, distressed, sour scent of burnt caramel wafting from Katsuki’s scent glands. Curled on the cold examination table, the thin, oversized, faded fabric of the hospital pajamas did nothing to keep out the chill.
The matching blue set was a step up from the standard gown, but he still felt entirely exposed; the shirt was completely split down the spine, connected by 4 evenly spaced plastic snap buttons, the raw fabric gaping open to the cold air every time he moved. It hung loosely over his frail, sixteen-year-old frame.
Years of isolation, systematic harvesting, and continuous deconstruction had kept him painfully slender, shivering in the sterile chill of the underground laboratory. Memory flickered unbidden, pulling him back to the day this endless nightmare began.
He had been only four years old when his quirk first awakened. He remembered running through the neighborhood park to reach a stray dog struck by a speeding car. Desperate to help, little Katsuki had laid his trembling hands over the animal's crushed ribs. A warm violet glow had flared, and the dog had scrambled to its feet, whole and healthy, while Katsuki collapsed onto the pavement, his own ribcage caving inward with a sickening crack as the trauma transferred into his tiny body.
The sheer agony had shocked his young system so violently that his body forcibly presented as an Omega years ahead of schedule, unlocking the vulnerable scent of an un-imprinted pup in a desperate biological cry for protection.
Paramedics had rushed him to an emergency ward, but hours between trauma nurses and doctors stabilizing his shattered chest, and waiting for vitals to shift, either good or bad, cold hands severed his IV lines in the dead of night. It had been the Boss of the Shie Hassaikai who ordered the abduction, hearing about and seeking a rare, submissive child Omega bearing a miraculous restorative quirk.
In those early years, the old Boss had treated Katsuki with kindness, becoming a grandfatherly guardian to the frightened, newly-made, orphan. The old man had built him a warm, private room in the traditional upper quarters, filling the corners with thick fleece blankets, plush cushions, and soft discarded kimonos so the young Omega could build a proper, comforting nest to feel safe.
The Boss had used Katsuki’s quirk sparingly, gently patting his blond head and feeding him sweet treats whenever the boy absorbed minor aches or joint pains. It was during those early, gentler days in the upper residence that Katsuki had first met Eri.
The little silver-haired girl had wandered down the quiet, polished hallway of the estate, her wide, ruby eyes red-rimmed from crying after scraping her knees on the courtyard gravel. When she peeked into Katsuki's nest room, the young Omega had immediately drawn her into the soft pile of blankets, humming a soothing melody while using his sleeves to wipe her tear-stained cheeks. Katsuki had gently pressed his palm over her scraped knees, taking the stinging cuts onto his own skin so the little girl wouldn't hurt. From that day on, whenever the Boss was busy with clan or business meetings, Eri would sneak into Katsuki's warm nest to hide, resting her small, horned head in his lap while he braided her silver hair and told her quiet stories of heroes in the outside world.
Everything shattered the day the old Boss fell critically ill and slipped into a comatose state.
Chisaki seized control of the organization with iron brutality. On his very first night in power, Overhaul marched up to the living quarters, and dragged Katsuki into the center of the room. As Katsuki watched in horror, Chisaki stripped his beloved nest apart with his bare hands, placing a palm against the soft blankets and plush pillows. In blinding flashes of deconstructing red light, Chisaki obliterated years of scent-soaked comfort into gray ash, leaving the room hollow and bare.
When Katsuki had screamed and fought, Chisaki dragged the weeping boy to the old Boss's medical suite, hovering his bare fingertips just inches above the dying patriarch's life-support console. Chisaki had made the ultimatum crystal clear: Katsuki would move to the undergound cells, surrender his quirk and blood for mass harvesting, and obey every single order without protest, or Chisaki would touch the Boss's frail chest and disintegrate the old man into red dust right in front of him. To keep his beloved guardian alive, Katsuki surrendered completely.
Separated from Eri and forced into the damp, lightless tunnels beneath the estate, Katsuki had only crossed paths with the girl a handful of times in the clinical hallways, both of them covered in bandages, their eyes meeting in silent, agonizing recognition before guards dragged them in opposite directions.
When the heroes had finally launched the Kamino raid and extracted Eri from the Yakuza's clutches, the little girl hadn't cried for toys or safety. Clutching Aizawa's capture weapon in the sterile hospital ward with trembling hands, Eri had broken down in tears, begging the underground pro and Mirio with everything she had. "Please... please go back down there! Katsuki-nii–nii-san is still in the dark! He always took my hurts away... He takes him apart every day! Please! Save Nii-san!"
Worst of all were the harvesting sessions.
Chisaki didn't just use Katsuki to heal wounds; he systematically extracted the boy's blood, bone marrow, and active quirk factor. Through horrific cycles of drawing pints of blood and harvesting marrow before destroying and rebuilding the teenager, Chisaki synthesized a prototype serum.
Unlike the quirk-erasing bullets developed from Eri's cellular reverse-engineering, Katsuki’s biological essence was refined into a brutal physical enhancer. When injected, the serum forcefully reconstructed muscular density, reinforced skeletal structure, and dramatically supercharged the recipient's quirk factor to near-catastrophic outputs.
"Do not lose focus, Katsuki," Chisaki’s chilling voice snapped, pulling him harshly back to the present.
Katsuki flinched, curling into a smaller, trembling ball. Desperation clawed at his chest, his battered omega instincts screaming for comfort, for safety, for anything soft to hide away his misery.
"K-Kai-san..." Katsuki whimpered softly, tears spilling down his pale cheeks. He reached out with a shaking hand, barely brushing the hem of the man's dark coat before recoiling in fear. "Please... After I do it... Can I please have a blanket? Just one? It's so cold, and my... My scent won't settle. Please let me build a proper nest..."
Chisaki looked down at him, his amber eyes cold and utterly devoid of mercy behind the beak of his plague mask. A low, mocking hum vibrated in the mob boss’s chest.
"Nesting is a primitive, filthy distraction, Katsuki. And asking for rewards you haven't earned is an act of defiance." Chisaki peeled off his right glove with agonizing slowness. Before Katsuki could scramble backward, Chisaki’s bare fingers clamped down directly over the boy's left hand.
A shrill, bloodcurdling scream ripped from Katsuki’s throat as his hand was instantly obliterated into red mist and shattered bone particles. Katsuki convulsed on the table, sobbing hysterically into the metal surface as blinding agony tore through his nerve endings.
Chisaki held him in that hollowed, mangled state for several agonizing seconds, letting the boy drown in the horror of the missing limb, before pressing his palm flat against the stump and reforming the hand whole once more.
"Softness breeds insubordination," Chisaki said coldly, wiping his bare hand as Katsuki lay hyperventilating, clutching his newly restored, phantom-aching fingers in absolute terror. "The old Boss coddled you and made you weak. Every time you mention his soft habits or ask for nesting materials under my watch, I will take a piece of you away before I put it back. Do you understand?"
"Y-Yes... I'm sorry... I'm sorry, Kai-san," Katsuki choked out, curling into a shattered ball on the table.
"Did you truly think I forgot that Kamino Ward broadcast you watched during the League raid?" Chisaki continued, stepping over the trembling teen. "Drooling over that screen while the heroes fought to rescue that little horned brat, Eri. You sat there on the floor with wide, pathetic eyes, clinging to the sight of Best Jeanist taking a stand against All For One, holding the line with immaculate threads until the bitter end. Do you actually believe an elegant top-ranker like that, or even an honorable shinobi like Edgeshot, would ever look twice at a broken, contaminated Omega rotting beneath the earth?"
Katsuki choked back a sob, his head ducking lower in shame. He still vividly remembered the flickering news screen, watching the heroes storm the villains' hideout to carry Eri away into safety, while he had secretly wept into his sleeves, aching with a crushing mix of deep relief that the little girl was finally free and a suffocating jealousy that he was left behind in the dark.
"And that other one," Chisaki sneered, his voice dripping with condescending venom. "That scruffy underground rat whose police files Chrono brought down. You hid that surveillance photograph of Eraserhead under that mattress, didn't you? Dreaming that some shadow hero who erases quirks would swoop in and make you normal. Eraserhead wouldn't save you, Katsuki. He would take one look at your cursed dynamic and your disease of a quirk, and lock you away in a government cell. Nobody is coming to cradle you. You do not need soft things to serve your purpose. You need obedience."
Katsuki’s breath hitched, a fresh wave of quiet tears spilling down his cheeks as the harsh words shattered his fragile, secret comfort.
In another room, the heavy, iron-reinforced door hissed open, allowing Chronostasis to escort a tall, cloaked figure into the medical bay. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and scorched flesh, barely masking the faint, fragile sweetness of a suppressed Omega dynamic that Dabi fought tirelessly to conceal.
Dabi slumped onto the edge of an operating table, his scarred hands trembling slightly as he pulled back his dark coat. Dabi had never cared for the grand villainous ideology of the League of Villains; he had maintained a low-profile, peripheral role with them solely because of his quiet, complicated bond with Shigaraki Tomura and the meager shelter the group provided. But his deteriorating body had reached its breaking point. Driven by desperate rumors that Chronostasis was offering discreet medical treatments, Dabi had slipped away from the League's hideout under the promise of a quick recovery, unaware that the moment he stepped through the underground doors, the Hassaikai would never let him leave.
"I came for the treatments promised," Dabi rasped, a bitter, exhausted smirk tugging at his pierced lips despite the weeping third-degree burns and exposed tissue tearing along his staples. "Didn't expect your boss to keep us waiting."
"Our methods are precise," Chronostasis replied evenly, adjusting his mask. "A quirk that produces blue flames of that magnitude is too valuable to waste on Shigaraki's petty street skirmishes. And our methods are far more efficient than modern medicine. Watch, and you will understand."
When Overhaul dragged Katsuki throught the door, Dabi’s turquoise eyes widened slightly, a sudden, instinctual jolt of Omega recognition flickering through his chest as he took in Katsuki's trembling frame. He watched in silent curiosity as two heavily injured Yakuza subordinates were hurriedly brought in and dumped unceremoniously onto the floor. One had a shattered clavicle; the other was bleeding profusely from deep lacerations across his abdomen.
"Purify them first, Katsuki," Chisaki ordered coldly, shoving the teenager forward as tears spilled over Katsuki’s flushed cheeks. "P-Please, Kai-san... It hurts so much..." he sobbed, but the threat of Chisaki's bare hands forced him down onto his knees, squeaking. Shaking violently, Katsuki pressed his palms against the two wounded men.
A brilliant violet light flared. In seconds, both subordinates were completely mended, their torn flesh sealing and broken bones smoothing out cleanly.
But the transferred agony struck Katsuki instantly. A sickening, wet crack echoed through the room as Katsuki’s own collarbone snapped beneath his pale skin, while deep, bloody lacerations violently tore open across his abdomen. Katsuki let out a shrill, suffocated shriek, collapsing down onto the cold tile, weeping and gasping for air as pure agony wracked his frame.
Before Dabi could even process the horror unfolding before him, Chisaki calmly knelt, peeled off his glove, and pressed a bare palm against Katsuki’s ruined body. In a horrifying flash of red mist and pulverized matter, Katsuki was violently disassembled into raw particles and reassembled into flawless, unbroken skin in a fraction of a second. The physical damage vanished, leaving Katsuki hyperventilating and shivering on the floor.
"Now," Chisaki said smoothly, standing up and turning his cold amber gaze toward Dabi. "The new asset."
Chisaki grabbed Katsuki by the collar of his shirt, hauling the teenager up and shoving him directly toward Dabi’s operating table. "Take his burns, Katsuki. Cleanse his rot, so he can be put to work."
Katsuki looked up at Dabi’s gruesome, stapled body, tears blinding his red eyes. He smelled the suffocating heat and realized the sheer scale of the destruction he was being forced to absorb. "No-No, please... Kai-san, please!" Katsuki cried hysterically, shrinking back, his distress scent spiking sharp and bitter. "It burns... His body is burning too hot! It'll kill me! Please don't make me take it!"
"Do not test my patience today," Chisaki commanded, his voice dropping into a dangerous, icy register as his bare fingers hovered over Katsuki's exposed neck.
Whimpering at the sight of his hands and in sheer, utter defeat, Katsuki fell to his knees before Dabi. Shivering uncontrollably, the teenager reached up with frail, bruised hands and pressed his trembling palms flat against Dabi’s ruined, stapled torso.
"Hey, wait–!" Dabi started, reaching out to shove him away, but the violet glow surged before he could pull back, in an instant, the searing fire all over Dabi’s body vanished completely.
The blackened, infected char along his body smoothed out into clean, almost iridescent-purple scarred skin, and the torn tissue sealed shut without a trace of pain.
Then, Katsuki's body paid the price. A bloodcurdling scream tore from Katsuki’s throat as the full brunt of Dabi's severe third-degree burns detonated across his porcelain skin; charred black flesh, melted tissue, and weeping blisters ripped across Katsuki's entire body.
Katsuki once again collapsed onto the floor, curling into a tight, weeping ball, choking on his own agonizing sobs as his burnt-caramel scent curdled into pure agony.
"What the fuck did you just do?!" Dabi yelled, staggering back, horror cutting through his usual detached composure as he watched the teenager convulse.
Chisaki didn't blink. He stepped forward and placed his bare hand over Katsuki’s scorched back. In another blinding, sickening flash, Katsuki was obliterated into a cloud of crimson mist and reconstructed whole once more. The burns vanished, leaving Katsuki curled on the freezing tile, gasping for air and weeping quietly.
Dabi took a step back, his blue flames flickering around his fingertips as he realized the trap he had walked into. "You're out of your damn mind. I'm leaving. Tomura is expecting me."
Before the fire could flare, Chronostasis lunged from the shadows, his clock-hand hair extending with pinpoint speed, piercing Dabi's shoulder and violently slowing his motor functions to a crawl.
Heavy quirk-suppressing cuffs were slapped around Dabi’s wrists before he could hit the floor. "You're not going anywhere, and Shigaraki won't be seeing you again," Chisaki stated calmly, readjusting his gloves. "We take in high-output quirks to harvest your firepower for our frontline artillery. You belong to the Hassaikai now."
Chisaki signaled the guards, who dragged the paralyzed Dabi through the cold underground corridors, dragging a shivering, compliant Katsuki along behind them. They reached the end of the hall, where a heavy, reinforced steel cell door was thrown open. Dabi was shoved roughly inside, crashing against the concrete floor next to the single, rusted metal cot. An instant later, Katsuki was tossed in after him, tumbling into a bruised heap near Dabi’s boots.
Before the heavy door could slam shut and the mechanical deadbolts rattle, Chisaki stepped into the dim cell, his sharp, amber gaze sweeping over the two captive Omegas. He walked deliberately toward the cot, flipping the thin mattress off the metal frame with one swift motion. There, lying flat against the rusted iron slats, was the creased, faded surveillance photograph of Eraserhead that Katsuki had guarded for years.
"N-No! Please, Kai-san, please don't!" Katsuki cried, crawling forward on his hands and knees, tears blinding his vision. "Please, give it back! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'll be good–!" Chisaki plucked the paper between two gloved fingers, looking down at the scruffy underground hero with cold, absolute disgust.
"A disease clinging to more disease," Chisaki said quietly. Right in front of Katsuki’s frantic, pleading eyes, Chisaki gripped the edges of the photograph and tore the paper straight down the middle, then shredded it to pieces, letting the remnants flutter onto the floor. "Your little savior doesn't exist."
"You talk a lot of high-and-mighty shit for a guy hiding in a rat hole behind a bird mask," Dabi growled from the floor, hands straining against his heavy suppressors as his eyes flared with venom. "Calling him a diseased anomaly when you're the one ripping a kid apart every five minutes just to put your goons back together. You're the real sickness here, pal."
Chisaki ignored Dabi completely, casting one last cold glance over the sobbing teenager before stepping out and slamming the steel door shut. In the dark silence that followed, Dabi exhaled a long, measured breath, letting a trace of his own pheromones, cool smoke and winter pine, fill the freezing room.
"Hey," Dabi rasped quietly, shifting closer on the concrete. "Stop crying, brat. He’s gone." Katsuki flinched, curling tighter against his bruised knees. "I-I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."
"Quit apologizing to the walls. It’s not your fault he’s a lunatic with a germ complex." Dabi leaned back against the iron frame of the cot and patted the floor beside him. "Get over here, get off the cold floor."
Hesitant and trembling, Katsuki crawled across the stone. Dabi reached out with his quirk-restraining-cuffed arms, luckily not connected, gently maneuvering his heavy, oversized dark coat off his shoulders and draping the thick fabric entirely over Katsuki. For the first time in years, the young Omega felt the sheltering weight of real warmth, drowning in the scent of cool pine and comforting smoke.
"Chisaki doesn't know shit about heroes," Dabi muttered softly, his thumb carefully wiping a dry tear track from Katsuki’s cheek. "I ran into Eraserhead once, during a raid." He didn't say that it was actually a clone of him, it didn't matter. "He isn't some government dog looking to lock up kids. If he knew what was happening down here, he'd tear this place apart. But until then... You stick close to me, hear me? I’m not letting them break you completely."
Katsuki rested his chin against Dabi's forearm, a small, genuine warmth settling deep in his chest. "Mister..."
"Just Dabi," he murmured gently, though a rare, soft flicker touched his turquoise eyes as he pulled the teenager closer.
One afternoon, during a chaotic transfer when the security grid momentarily glitched during an overhaul of the sector's power lines, Katsuki saw an open security latch. Pure instinct overtook years of terror. Darting past the distracted enforcers, he bolted barefoot through the concrete corridors, scrambling up an old maintenance staircase and bursting through an emergency exit into the narrow, sunlit alleyways of the town above.
His heart hammered against his ribs as he sprinted through the blinding daylight, but his weakened, malnourished body gave out within two blocks. Stumbling out of an alleyway, Katsuki crashed straight into the sturdy chest of an intern on patrol, and falling backwards on to his rear.
"Woah! Are you alright?!" Katsuki looked up through blurred, tear-filled vision, freezing as he saw the bright, sun-kissed hair and wide, friendly blue eyes of Lemillion, flanked immediately by a green-haired hero student in full gear, Deku, who immediately kneeled in front of the terrified Omega.
Katsuki’s breath hitched, his unbonded Omega distress scent spilling frantically into the air as he clutched the fabric of Deku's green costume with bruised, shaking hands. "P-Please... Please, they're under the ground... Kai-san takes us apart..."
"Hey, it's okay! You're safe, take a deep breath," Deku said urgently, his emerald eyes widening in horror as he took in the boy's oversized, blood-specked hospital suit and scarred wrists. Midoriya gently braced Katsuki's trembling shoulders. "We're heroes. We're right here. What's your name? Who is after you?"
Mirio stepped up beside them, his expression turning vigilant and protective as he scanned the alleyway. "We won't let anyone hurt you, kid. Tell us what happened."
Before Katsuki could speak another word, a pair of heavy, cloaked figures emerged from the shadows at the end of the alley. Chisaki stepped forward, his plague mask catching the sunlight, flanked by two armed Yakuza subordinates.
"Pardon the disturbance, heroes," Chisaki said smoothly, his voice laced with venomous calm as he stepped into view. "My younger brother has a severe psychological disorder. He becomes delirious and runs away from our private care clinic. Katsuki, come here. You are causing trouble for these young men."
Chisaki discreetly curled his bare fingers beneath the hem of his dark sleeve, locking his amber eyes onto Katsuki with a silent, lethal warning: Run, and the Boss dies right now.
Katsuki’s entire body went rigid with paralyzing dread. His fingers slipped from Midoriya’s costume, his trembling hands falling to his lap as the terrifying weight of Chisaki's leverage crushed any hope of rescue.
"I-I'm sorry..." Katsuki choked out, tears spilling down his pale cheeks as he stood up and stepped backward out of the heroes' reach. "I'm sorry... I'll go back..."
"Wait! You don't have to go with him!" Deku pleaded, reaching his hand out, sensing the sheer horror vibrating off the boy.
"He is coming home," Chisaki stated firmly, taking Katsuki roughly by the arm and pulling him behind the dark line of cloaks.
Dragged back down into the suffocating abyss of the underground compound, Chisaki hauled Katsuki straight into the underground training ring where Kendo Rappa was wrapping his massive fists in brawling tape.
Chisaki shoved Katsuki violently into the dirt of the cage, where he fell to his knees. "Disobedience requires an immediate example," Chisaki commanded coldly, wiping his gloved hands. "Rappa, break him. Shatter every bone in his arms and legs. Let him remember why he stays beneath the earth."
Rappa’s broad face split into a demonic, bloodthirsty grin. "Hell yeah! Let's see what you're made of, brat!"
The cage door slammed shut. The horrific, echoing sounds of Rappa’s concussive fists shattering bones and tearing muscle reverberated down the stone corridor alongside Katsuki’s agonized wailing.
When Katsuki lay mangled and hyperventilating in the gore-splattered dirt, Chisaki stepped into the cage, knelt down, and pressed a bare palm over the teenager's crushed torso. In a blinding, sickening flash of red mist, Katsuki was deconstructed into raw particles and reassembled whole. The broken limbs smoothed out and the internal hemorrhages vanished, but the psychic trauma left Katsuki shivering violently, gasping for air on the bloodstained ground.
Chisaki hauled the weeping, traumatized teenager back to the cell and threw him onto the cot before locking the deadbolts once more. Dabi immediately pulled Katsuki into his lap, stroking his hair and letting out steadying purrs against the boy's temple until the shuddering sobs subsided into exhausted sleep.
Over the next few days, the immense biological stress of absorbing Dabi's chronic wounds and the constant shock of deconstruction violently triggered Katsuki's own suppressed biology.
Late one evening, the damp cell grew suffocatingly warm. Katsuki lay collapsed on the concrete floor, clutching his stomach as a violent, feverish heat overtook his thin body. His skin flushed a deep, burning rose, slick with sweat, while the air in the cell became thick and intoxicating with the overwhelming, sweet scent of heated burnt sugar and browned butter.
Katsuki let out high, broken whines, completely ungrounded and delirious as his unbonded Omega heat flared with unrestrained intensity, Dabi remained right beside him on the floor the entire time, ignoring his own fatigue to wrap his arms around the teen, using his own cool scent to soothe Katsuki's scorching fever and murmuring rough reassurances into his messy blond hair until the worst of the delirium quieted.
The rich pheromones seeped through the heavy door seam and drifted straight into the corridor outside. An Alpha Yakuza subordinate patrolling the hall suddenly stopped in his tracks, his nostrils flaring as his pupils dilated in predatory hunger.
Following the intoxicating scent straight to the reinforced door, the guard fumbled with the viewport latch. Seeing the flushed, shivering teenager writhing in the throes of a raw heat, the subordinate grinned and hurried down the hall to the main laboratory where Chisaki was reviewing shipment logs.
"Overhaul, sir," the subordinate spoke up, a leering smirk touching his lips as he gestured back toward the holding wing. "Is there an unbonded Omega in heat down here? If you're keeping a breeder locked in the cells, maybe the boys and I could–"
Chisaki’s pen froze on the paper. A deadly, suffocating silence dropped over the laboratory. The mob boss slowly set the pen down, rising to his full height. His amber eyes burned with absolute, murderous revulsion behind his plague mask as his skin crawled at the sheer, filthy vulgarity of the request.
"Filthy insect," Chisaki whispered, his voice vibrating with lethal disgust. Before the guard could even comprehend the mistake he had made, Chisaki surged forward. Faster than thought, Chisaki grabbed the subordinate by his collar, dragging him down the hall while the man choked and scrambled uselessly against his iron grip. Chisaki hauled him straight into the training ring where Rappa Kendo was wrapping his massive fists in brawling tape. Chisaki hurled the subordinate violently into the center of the reinforced cage.
"Rappa," Chisaki commanded coldly, wiping his gloved hands on a clean cloth. "Break every bone in his body. Do not stop swinging until his voice gives out."
Rappa’s broad face split into a demonic, bloodthirsty grin. "Hell yeah! A live punching bag!"
The cage door slammed shut. The horrific, echoing sounds of Rappa’s concussive fists shattering ribs, snapping limbs, and rupturing organs reverberated down the stone corridor alongside the subordinate’s agonized shrieks.
Chisaki returned to the cell, slamming the heavy iron door open. Stepping inside, he looked down at Katsuki, who was weeping and shivering in fever on the floor, clinging tightly to Dabi’s uninjured side as the older Omega tried to shield him from the cold.
Without a word of pity, Chisaki grabbed Katsuki by the collar of his shirt, hauling the delirious boy out of the room and toward the training ring. Chisaki shoved Katsuki through the iron door into the gore-splattered dirt beside the mangled, half-dead subordinate
"Clean him up, Katsuki," Chisaki ordered, his voice dripping with ice. "Absorb every fractured bone and ruptured organ he earned from his filth. If you leave a single bruise on him, you take his place."
Weeping hysterically, delirious with fever, Katsuki crawled through the dirt, his small hands trembling as he pressed his palms flat against the mangled man's crushed chest. The violet light flared, knitting the guard's bones and sealing his torn flesh, while Katsuki’s own ribcage violently caved inward with a sickening crunch, multiple bones fracturing as deep internal hemorrhages ripped through his abdomen.
Katsuki let out a shrill, suffocated shriek, vomiting blood onto the dirt floor before collapsing into a tight, agonizing ball, his heat scent curdling in pure shock.
Chisaki stepped in, knelt down, and pressed a bare palm over Katsuki’s broken chest. In a blinding, sickening flash of red mist, Katsuki was deconstructed into raw particles and reassembled whole. The bones reset and the internal bleeding vanished, but the psychic trauma left Katsuki shivering violently, gasping for air on the bloodstained ground.
Chisaki hauled the weeping, heat-drained teenager back to the cell and threw him onto the cot before locking the deadbolts once more. Dabi immediately pulled Katsuki into his lap, stroking his hair and letting out steadying purrs against the boy's temple until the shuddering sobs turned into exhausted breathing as he slept.
The next morning, Chronostasis arrived to perform a genetic diagnostic on the two prisoners. Grabbing Dabi's chin when he jerked away and swabbing his cheek and sequencing his blood through the underground database, the assistant froze as the scanner chimed.
"Utterly fascinating, I can't believe it..." Chronostasis breathed, reading the classified match before looking up at Dabi, a sinister smile broke across his face as Dabi glared and growled at him, he chuckled softly before stepping out into the hall to radio his boss.
"Overhaul... The blue-fire stray isn't an unlisted street rat. He's a Todoroki. Number One Hero, Endeavor's eldest, Todoroki Touya."
The revelation sent shockwaves through Chisaki's plans. Following the radio call, Chisaki marched down to the combat arena to inspect the outer defense preparations. Rappa was leaning against the cage, wiping sweat and blood from his knuckles after a brutal workout.
"Hey, Boss," Rappa called out, an aggressive, feral grin spreading across his face as his heavy Alpha pheromones flared. "You got that high-priority mission to intercept the police supply convoy tonight, right? I'm ready to rip 'em apart. But when I pull it off, I want a real prize." Rappa slammed a fist into his palm, gesturing back toward the holding wing. "Give me that blue fire-user. Let me have him in the ring, and let me take him as a mate. An Omega with fire like that, who can take a beating and keep standing? I want to claim him, break him in, and knot him until he's mine."
Chisaki’s eyes flashed with absolute disgust and sharp irritation behind his plague mask. "You are being sent on a vital operational sweep, Rappa, not a breeding hunt. And that fire-user is not some expendable prize for your primitive appetites."
In his agitated haste to shut down the brawler's feral demands, Chisaki snapped, "He is Todoroki Touya. His bloodline carries far more leverage against the Hero Public Safety Commission than your filthy desires to claim a mate. Finish your mission cleanly, and do not speak of touching him again."
Rappa blinked in genuine surprise, a low whistle escaping him as the prestigious name settled heavily in the air. Fueled by the promise of blood, and dosed with an experimental batch of the body-strengthening serum harvested from Katsuki's blood, Rappa set out on the nighttime operation alongside an elite squad of Yakuza enforcers.
Under the cover of darkness along the coastal highway, the heavy transport convoy carrying classified police tactical gear and hero support weaponry was violently ambushed. Rappa struck like an artillery shell, his reinforced muscle mass and heightened quirk factor tore through the lead armored transport in an eruption of warped metal and shattered glass, his concussive punches devastating the asphalt with terrifying magnitude.
However, the local hero patrol responded with overwhelming force. Backed into a corner by heavy-duty containment units and specialized shock nets, Rappa fought tooth and nail until high-grade quirk suppressants brought him crashing to his knees.
Pinned against the shattered highway asphalt with reinforced steel restraints locked around his massive arms, Rappa threw his head back, coughing up blood and laughing wildly into the flashing red-and-blue cruiser lights. Fat Gum and Sir Nighteye stepped into the circle, demanding answers about the Shie Hassaikai's underground stronghold.
"You heroes think you're so damn clever!" Rappa barked through a mouthful of red, his chest heaving. "Go ahead and raid the main compound! You won't find Overhaul! He's already moving his real prizes to the eastern warehouse!"
Rappa's bloodshot eyes locked onto Nighteye, a mocking grin splitting his bruised face. "He's hoarding an unbonded Omega and his little pup down in the dark! And you know who that fierce bastard is? That scarred fire-user you've been chasing, Dabi? He's Todoroki Touya! Endeavor's dead prodigy! Overhaul's keeping him locked up with his sweet-scented pup, using the kid to supercharge our quirks and soak up all our blood and guts!"
The entire perimeter froze in absolute, stunned silence. Nighteye’s expression hardened into razor-sharp urgency as the horrific weight of the brawler's confession hit the comms network.
Miles away, the cell door in the compound was wrenched open, Katsuki squeaking in fright from where he was pressed to Dabi's chest while he recovered from his heat. Dabi glared and growled softly when Chisaki appeared in the doorway, visibly disheveled and frantic, his parka collar rumpled from the sudden heat of the compromised mission. "Get up, both of you," Chisaki snapped with uncharacteristic haste. "We are relocating our primary assets to the secondary eastern terminal, immediately."
The two Omegas were loaded into an armored van under dense evening fog. Upon arriving at the derelict, half-demolished logistics warehouse, Chisaki directed his entire focus toward securing Touya. Fearing the immense destructive value of the Flame Hero's heir, Chisaki, Chronostasis, and the armed guard immediately hauled Touya in heavy chains toward the reinforced lower vault
"Leave the pup in the corner," Chisaki ordered dismissively over his shoulder. "He has nowhere to run."
Katsuki was dumped onto the damp concrete of the shadowed loading bay, left unattended beside a row of rusted shipping containers while the guards were distracted by comms chatter. Katsuki curled his knees to his chest, trembling in the cold evening air as his burnt-caramel scent leaked out in quiet distress.
"Hey. Don't make a sound." A quiet, raspy voice came from the deep shadows. Katsuki gasped, flinching back, but froze as a tall, purple-haired teenager slipped out from between the crates, wearing the dark utility gear and capture weapon of an underground hero apprentice.
Shinsou knelt quickly, allowing a subtle but calming scent of lavender and oak wash over the frightened teenager. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm a hero trainee working with Eraserhead. Hold still, I'm planting a–"
Before Shinsou could slip the magnetic transponder into Katsuki’s hem, the metal security door slammed open. Heavy, hurried footsteps echoed as Chisaki and two enforcers marched back into the loading bay.
"Get back here, you useless brat!" a guard shouted. Shinsou pulled his hands back instantly, ducking into the deep shadows between the cargo containers just before the flashlight beams swept the area. He hadn't been able to plant the tracker on Katsuki's clothes, but his eyes narrowed as he memorized the layout of the facility.
Retreating swiftly over the perimeter fence, Shinsou tapped his earpiece into the hero network. "Eraserhead, Sir Nighteye, I couldn't get the tracker on him, but I confirmed their visual. Overhaul has them both locked down at the eastern logistics terminal. The heroes need to move in now!"
Inside the loading bay, a guard grabbed Katsuki by the scruff of his shirt, dragging him down the iron stairs and shoving him into the reinforced lower vault. The heavy steel hatch slammed shut, deadbolts locking into place.
Dabi was sitting against the far wall, wrists cuffed in heavy suppressors bolted into the ground. The moment the door locked, Katsuki scrambled across the cold floor on hands and knees, throwing his arms around Dabi's waist and burying his tear-streaked face against his chest.
"Hey," Dabi whispered softly, resting his chin on Katsuki's blond head, wrapping one arm around the teen. "I've got you. Don't let go." Minutes dragged by in suffocating silence. Deep in the concrete vault, the air grew thick with dread.
Suddenly, a weird, wet tearing sound echoed through the room. A thick, swirling vortex of dark purple mist erupted in the center of the vault, and stepping directly out of the warp gate was Shigaraki Tomura, his red eyes gleaming with frantic, barely contained tension behind the severed hand clasped over his face. Flanking him were Twice and Mr. Compress, weapons raised.
Shigaraki’s posture was stiff, his neck scratched raw with agitation, but the moment his gaze found Dabi alive and whole, his shoulders visibly lowered an inch before his voice snapped into a harsh, guarded mask.
"Took us long enough to find your useless ass, Dabi," Shigaraki rasped, his voice rough and tense as he stepped forward with deliberate speed. "You ran off to get medical treatment from bird-freaks and went completely dark. Kurogiri intercepted police chatter about this rat hole."
Shigaraki reached down, wrapping fve fingers on the steel chains holding Dabi's restraints. With a quick flick of his hand, the metal decayed into gray ash, crumbling away and freeing Dabi's arms. Shigaraki's eyes lingered on Dabi's healed body for a split second, a quiet, hidden relief flickering in his crimson pupils before he masked it with an irritated scowl. "Can you walk?"
"I'm fine," Dabi muttered, rubbing his chafed wrists. Shigaraki’s eyes then flicked down to the teenager still wrapped tightly around Dabi’s waist. "Who's the extra baggage?" Katsuki didn't look up.
"He comes with us, Tomura," Dabi said, his tone leaving zero room for debate as he scooped Katsuki securely into his arms, holding the boy firmly against his chest. "No arguments."
Before they could turn toward the warp gate, the reinforced outer wall exploded inward in a concussive shockwave of crushed concrete and splintered steel
"Nobody move!" Aizawa’s commanding roar cut through the swirling dust. Eraserhead lunged through the breach alongside Mirio, goggles down, dark hair floating upward as his capture weapon flared around him. Aizawa's eyes immediately locked onto the pale, hospital-clothed teenager clutched in Dabi's grip, barely glancing at the wanted criminals in the room.
Moving forward with an open, non-threatening palm, Aizawa kept his tone low and steady. "Katsuki," Aizawa called out, his voice piercing through the chaos. "Eri is safe. She's been begging us to find you. She misses you, kid."
Katsuki gasped, his head jerking up from Dabi's shoulder. His wide, tear-filled red eyes locked onto Eraserhead, his breath catching in a choked sob. "E-Eri...? Is she... Is she really safe? Did you get her out?"
"Yes, she's completely safe," Aizawa assured gently, taking a slow step forward. "She's at the hospital under our protection. Come with us, Katsuki. We're heroes. You don't have to hide in the dark anymore. Let us take care of you."
Katsuki’s heart slammed violently against his ribs. For a fraction of a second, his fingers loosened in Dabi's shirt. The yearning of a lifetime, the soft beds, the open sky, seeing Eri smile in a warm nest again, pulled at every single instinct in his body. He hesitated, his body turning slightly toward the underground hero.
Dabi felt the shift, his arm tightening around Katsuki's waist. "Brat..." Dabi murmured, not pulling him away, but letting his cool winter-pine scent wash over the boy in steady reassurance.
Katsuki looked from Aizawa's outstretched hand to Dabi's scarred, protective chest. The terror of the outside world, the scars of years of abuse, and the agonizing truth that heroes hadn't been there when he was torn apart flooded his mind.
Trembling violently, Katsuki pulled back, clutching fistfuls of Dabi's dark coat and burying his face deep into the crook of the pyromancer's neck.
"N-No..." Katsuki sobbed, his voice breaking. "Dabi-san... Don't let them take me... Please..."
Dabi’s grip locked like iron, shielding the teenager completely from view. "Hear that, Eraser? He stays with me.
Before Aizawa could speak again, a roaring wall of crimson fire obliterated the side corridor, Endeavor charged into the vault like a raging inferno, his boots scorching the floor as his flaming beard blazed with furious authority.
"Stand down, villains!" the Flame Hero bellowed, raising an arm engulfed in white-hot flame. "Surrender the Omegas immediately!"
Dabi froze. The air in the vault turned suffocatingly dry. Dabi’s turquoise eyes locked onto the towering giant standing across the room, the father who had burned him out, discarded him, declared him dead. An icy tremor seized Dabi's chest, instantly replaced by a venomous, suffocating rage that burned hotter than any fire.
Endeavor’s fiery eyes slammed onto Dabi’s scarred face, and for a fractured, impossible second, the number one hero's flames wavered as if gazing upon a phantom. "You..." Endeavor breathed, pure shock paralyzing his voice.
Dabi let out a low, ragged chuckle, his scarred skin stretching into a cruel, mocking smirk that cut straight through the inferno. He didn't say a word.
Holding the terrified teenager tightly against his chest, Dabi took two calm, deliberate steps backward into the swirling purple vortex.
"Dabi, move it!" Shigaraki barked, stepping back through the portal while keeping a watchful, defensive guard between Dabi and the charging heroes.
Aizawa surged forward, firing his capture weapon, "Wait–!" While Endeavor lunged forward, reaching out a flaming hand in a desperate, thunderous roar, "TOUYA–!"
Dabi looked his father dead in the eye, gave a single, dismissive tilt of his head, and stepped backward into the dark void with Katsuki in his arms
The warp gate snapped shut with a violent crack of displaced air. The capture weapon whipped through empty dust, and Endeavor's flaming fist crashed uselessly into the bare stone where his son had stood seconds before, leaving the heroes stranded in the crumbling ruins under the wailing sirens of the night.
The sickening compression of warp mist dropped them onto the dust-coated floor of an abandoned safehouse nestled deep within the forested outskirts of the prefecture. Dense treelines completely shielded the crumbling villa from aerial surveillance and local patrols.
Dabi stumbled the second his boots touched solid ground, the violent adrenaline crash threatening to buckle his knees. He caught himself against the frame of a sliding door, his breath rattling in his chest, but his iron grip never loosened around the shivering teenager tucked securely against his chest.
Katsuki clung desperately to Dabi’s dark coat, burying his tear-streaked face in the crook of the older Omega's scarred neck. The rich, distress-sweet scent of burnt caramel leaked continuously from the boy's glands, mingled with the lingering exhaustion of his recently cooled heat and the sheer terror of the raid.
"Kurogiri, seal the perimeter. Twice, keep watch by the forest road," Shigaraki commanded harshly, tossing the severed hand mask onto a low table.
Shigaraki turned, his crimson eyes raking over Dabi’s unfastened cuffs, the healed skin along the visible parts of his body, and the trembling boy in his arms. The League leader’s fingers twitched with frantic, nervous irritation, though the suffocating panic that had gripped his chest throughout the rescue finally dissolved into a low, possessive simmer.
Stepping forward, Shigaraki grabbed Dabi firmly by the arm, steering him down the darkened hallway away from the main foyer. "Come. You're both half-dead, and the kid's scent is filling the entire damn forest."
He shoved open a heavy wooden door at the end of the corridor, revealing a secure, windowless back den. The room was dark and secluded, insulated with thick tatami mats, layered quilts, and piles of heavy fabrics.
"Sit," Shigaraki ordered, guiding Dabi down onto the cushioned futon. Dabi sank onto the blankets with a ragged sigh, shifting Katsuki carefully into his lap. Katsuki flinched at the unfamiliar shadows, his wide red eyes darting nervously toward Shigaraki's towering frame. The boy whimpered softly, shrinking back into Dabi’s chest, terrified that this new room would become another clinical horror.
"Hey... Easy, brat," Dabi murmured softly, smoothing a scarred palm over Katsuki's messy blond hair. "Look around. No cages. No needles. Nobody’s taking you apart here."
Shigaraki stepped closer, the wooden door sliding shut to seal out the rest of the villa. The low hum of Alpha authority flooded the room, thick with dry earth, ozone, and unmistakable possessiveness. Dropping down into a crouch by the edge of the futon, Shigaraki cupped Dabi’s jaw, four fingers pressing into pale, scarred skin while his pinky remained hooked in the air.
"You went dark on me," Shigaraki murmured, his voice a rough scrape against Dabi's ears. "You think you can just walk into an enemy stronghold, get locked down, and expect me not to tear the world apart to get you back?
Dabi tilted his chin up, a faint, breathless smirk touching his lips. "You took your sweet time, Boss." Shigaraki answered by pulling Dabi in and crashing their lips together in a rough, bruising kiss that tasted of dried blood, ash, and desperate relief, an unyielding, territorial claim that erased days of agonizing captivity. Dabi let out a shuddering breath against Shigaraki’s mouth, his fingers tangling into the Alpha’s dark hoodie as he surrendered completely to the weight of the bond.
When Shigaraki finally pulled back, his crimson gaze flicked down to the teenager curled up tightly under the blankets, against Dabi's chest. Katsuki was staring up with wide, luminous eyes, trembling as his unbonded Omega instincts recognized the fierce protection radiating from the pair.
"He took your burns," Shigaraki stated quietly, his sharp eyes softening with rare conviction. "He kept you alive."
"He did," Dabi rasped. Shigaraki reached out, letting four fingers rest gently over Katsuki’s blond hair, grounding the boy's racing pulse.
"Then he stays. He's ours now. Our pup." A tiny, choked gasp hitched in Katsuki’s throat, fresh tears spilling down his cheeks as the absolute promise of safety washed over him.
The door slid open a crack, and Toga peered inside with wide, eager eyes, flanked by Twice and Mr. Compress. "Tomura-kun! Is the little cutie okay? We brought warm broth and lots of soft clothes for him!"
"Take him out to the main room," Shigaraki commanded. "Feed him and get him cleaned up."
"Come on, sweetie!" Toga beamed, tiptoeing in with gentle warmth. Katsuki hesitated, clutching Dabi’s sleeve, but Dabi gave his shoulder a firm squeeze. "Go on, brat. Toga won't hurt you. Eat something warm. I'll be right here."
Compress and Twice bundled the teenager into a massive, oversized cardigan, guiding him gently to the warm hearth in the common room where Toga eagerly tended to him with food and quiet chatter.
Back in the secluded den, Shigaraki locked the door and moved over Dabi, pressing him flat against the futon. The scent of winter pine and cool smoke bloomed intensely as Shigaraki claimed his mate in the dark, their pheromones fusing together in a raw, passionate reunion that affirmed their, now, lifelong bond.
Afterward, as the safehouse fell into deep silence, Dabi dragged the heavy fleece blankets and thick coats into a low, protective ring around the futon, swiftly assembling a proper, scent-heavy nest.
When the first pale slivers of morning light filtered through the seams of the wooden frame, Touya stirred within the deep, warm hollow of the nest. The scent of ozone, dry earth, and sweet pine was thick and heavy in the enclosed space. Shigaraki was already awake, propped on one elbow, his crimson eyes tracing every inch of Touya's unblemished torso where the agony of third-degree burns had once been.
"Still feels unreal," Tomura rasped, his voice rough with sleep. He reached out, his thumb lightly dragging across the rough, almost iridescent scarring over Touya’s ribs, four fingers resting flat while his pinky hooked safely upward. "No blood. No burnt flesh."
Touya let out a low, breathless hum, leaning up into the touch. "Told you the brat was a miracle."
Tomura didn't let him pull away. Shifting forward, the Alpha crowded Touya back down into the plush lining of the blankets, his body heavy and warm. His mouth found Touya’s throat with an intense, consuming hunger, teeth grazing right over the rapid pulse point of the scent gland. Touya arched his back, a shuddering gasp ripping from his chest as his hands buried themselves into Tomura’s messy, pale blue hair, pulling him closer.
Their reunion deepened into a slow, breathless rhythm, stripped of the violent panic of the raid and filled instead with fierce, desperate devotion. Tomura mapped every newly healed curve of Touya's skin with bruising kisses and rough, reverent touches, murmuring low, possessive promises against his mouth.
Touya gave just as fiercely as he took, his legs tangling with Tomura’s, scenting the Alpha thoroughly until every lingering ghost of the Yakuza dungeon, Chisaki's operating tables, and Endeavor's shadow was completely burned away by the heat of their shared claim.
A few weeks passed within the quiet seclusion of the forest villa, and the suffocating shadows of captivity began to fade. Katsuki had blossomed under the fierce, unconditional protection of the pack.
The hollow, trembling boy had given way to an expressive, somewhat confident teenager. His cheeks were rounding and becoming flushed with health, his blond hair was neatly brushed, and his sweet burnt-caramel scent carried a bright, assertive warmth.
He padded around the safehouse in oversized sweaters, bossing Twice around the kitchen, curling shamelessly against his packmates, and openly calling Dabi "Mama" whenever he wanted comfort and Tomura "Dad" whenever he demanded a sparring session or a head pat.
A few days later, the cool, sharp scent of pine and ozone in the master quarters began to shift and Touya’s biology, fully stabilized for the first time in years and free of chronic inflammation, finally settled into a natural, quiet heat cycle. Far from the feverish, agonizing episodes of the past, this cycle brought a heavy, languid exhaustion. His omega instincts flared with a fierce need for nesting, physical closeness, and keeping his pack anchored directly beside him.
While Touya spent the morning reinforcing the grand futon, dragging every soft blanket, fleece quilt, and thick winter coat into a deep, circular hollow, Shigaraki had left the safehouse to secure medical supplies and scout the outer treeline.
Tomura moved through the nearby abandoned train yard on the edge of the district. The fog was thick, dampening sound, but the sudden rustle of fabric overhead made him halt.
Dropping silently from an overhead metal beam, Eraserhead landed in the gravel ten paces away. His capture weapon hovered in loose coils, goggles reflecting the dim afternoon light.
"Shigaraki," Aizawa said, his voice flat, gravelly, and tight with controlled tension. "Where is the kid? And Touya?" Tomura’s hand twitched, four fingers tightening at his side as a low, rasping growl vibrated in his throat. "Back off, Eraser. You're too late."
"He was abducted when he was four years old," Aizawa countered, taking a single, measured step forward, holding his hands in plain sight.
"He’s been through hell. He needs specialized medical rehabilitation, not a frontline role in a villain cell. If you have even a shred of humanity left, let us take him in."
"He doesn't need your sterile hospital wards," Tomura snarled, his red eyes flashing with fierce, territorial hostility. "He's not your little victim to catalog and lock away in a government facility. He’s safe. He eats warm food every day, he sleeps in a real nest, and he has a family that actually keeps him whole. He's our pup now."
Aizawa’s brow furrowed, a flicker of surprise breaking through his stoic expression at the phrase. "Shigaraki–"
"Come looking for him, and I'll turn this entire prefecture to dust," Tomura hissed, and before the hero could deploy his capture scarf, Tomura kicked up a cloud of loose gravel, darting between the rusted boxcars and vanishing into the dense mountain timberline.
By the time Tomura slipped through the villa’s sliding doors, his breathing was sharp, his Alpha pheromones spiked with restless, defensive paranoia. The thought of heroes tracking their location, of anyone trying to pry open their den, made his skin crawl with frantic irritation.
He marched straight into the secluded master bedroom, sliding the heavy panel shut and throwing the iron latch. Touya looked up from the center of the massive, scent-soaked nest. He was wearing an oversized, soft sweater, looking relaxed and heavy-lidded under the weight of his heat, with Katsuki already sound asleep beside him, curled into a peaceful, blanket-wrapped ball.
Seeing Tomura’s frayed state, the frantic set of his jaw, and the way the Alpha’s fingers nervously scratched at his own neck, Touya’s expression softened.
"Tomura," Touya murmured, his voice a low, grounding purr. "Get in here." Tomura shed his dusty coat, his boots hitting the floor as he crawled into the plush hollow. The heat rolling off Touya was intoxicating, carrying the rich, sweet tang of pine, smoke, and pure biological comfort.
Touya wrapped his arms around Tomura, pulling the tense Alpha down against his chest, loosening the neck of his sweater. Touya pressed Tomura’s face directly into the warm curve of his throat and chest, letting his mate latch onto the soothing, milky warmth of his scent glands.
The steady, rhythmic warmth and the rich, protective pheromones acted like an immediate sedative, drowning out the frantic noise in Tomura’s head and unraveling the tension knotted in his shoulders.
Tomura let out a long, shuddering exhale, his fingers slackening into the soft fleece of the bedding as the grounding calm took hold.
Beside them, Katsuki stirred slightly, instinctively seeking the heat of the pack. The teenager nuzzled closer, resting his head against Touya’s hip and draping an arm over Tomura’s side.
Surrounded by the deep layers of the nest, the three settled together in the quiet sanctuary of the room. Touya draped a heavy quilt over all of them, resting one hand in Tomura’s pale hair and the other over Katsuki’s back, their blended scents sealing the den in absolute, unbroken safety.
The quiet home goods outlet on the outskirts of the prefecture was practically deserted on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. Low, soft jazz filtered through the store speakers, drowned out mostly by the steady patter of rain against the skylights.
Touya moved down the bedding aisle with quiet deliberation, his oversized dark coat pulled high around his neck. Without the heavy metal staples pulling at his face, the faint purple scars across his jaw and cheeks looked far less menacing under the brim of his low cap.
He ran his hand over a thick, cream-colored plush fleece throw, testing the density of the fabric with an expert eye. Katsuki had specifically asked for something extra soft that could line the inner rim of his nest, and Touya wasn't leaving until he found the best quality available.
A few paces down the same aisle, a dark-clad man with a tangled mop of black hair paused before a shelf of heavy wool throws. Aizawa Shota let out a quiet, tired sigh, turning over a gray waffle-knit blanket with one hand while holding a grocery basket in the other. Eri had mentioned that her dorm room got drafty near the window, and he was under strict instructions from Nemuri not to buy anything scratchy.
Touya felt the subtle shift in the air first. He glanced sideways, freezing slightly as his turquoise eyes locked onto the tired underground hero.
Aizawa paused mid-reach. His dark eyes flicked over, narrowing in immediate recognition as he took in the tall, scarred silhouette. His muscles coiled under his dark sweater, the instinct to reach for his capture weapon flaring, before he noticed Touya's hands were empty, casually buried in his pockets, holding nothing more dangerous than a swatch of faux-fur fleece.
The silence between them stretched, thick with unspoken history, before Touya gave a dry, quiet scoff and turned back to the display shelf.
"If you're going to start a brawl in the linen section, do it quietly," Touya murmured, his tone remarkably calm, almost bored. "The cashier looks like she's on her last nerve, and I don't feel like burning down half a strip mall over a discount comforter."
Aizawa exhaled slowly, letting the tension in his shoulders lower a fraction, though his gaze remained vigilant. "I'm off the clock. And I don't see any reason to turn a department store into a war zone when neither of us brought backup."
"Good." Touya tossed the cream fleece into his basket and reached for a deeper chocolate-brown plush throw. "Because I'm on a tight schedule. Scenting all this stuff takes time."
Aizawa watched him for a beat, his eyes catching the faded, rough scar lines along Touya's face, where jagged staples had once torn the flesh raw. "You look different. The reports from the raid said you were barely holding together."
"Turns out proper rest and not being locked in a basement does wonders for the skin," Touya replied smoothly, not offering a shred of detail about Katsuki's quirk. He grabbed a set of high-thread-count pillowcases. "What about you? Since when do top underground pros spend their afternoons browsing the clearance quilts?"
"Guardian duties," Aizawa answered plainly, placing a soft, pastel-yellow blanket into his basket. "Eri's room is cold."
At the mention of the little girl's name, Touya’s movements paused for a split second. He remembered the small, silver-haired girl Katsuki had talked about during quiet nights in the safehouse, the kid Katsuki had braided hair for in the upper residence before Chisaki tore everything apart.
"She doing alright?" Touya asked, keeping his voice carefully neutral. Aizawa gave a slight, affirming nod. "She's safe. Learning how to smile again. She still talks about the boy who used to take her scrapes away." Aizawa turned fully toward Touya, his expression steady, lacking the usual aggression of a hero confrontation. "Katsuki. How is he?"
Touya’s jaw set, a flicker of fierce, parental protectiveness gleaming in his turquoise eyes. "He’s thriving. Eats three meals a day, sleeps ten hours a night, and bosses everyone in the house around. He's got a family that actually looks after him."
Aizawa studied him closely, recognizing the deep, genuine conviction in the older Omega's posture. Aizawa let out a slow breath through his nose. "He had a torn photograph of me. Chisaki used it to torment him."
Touya gave a short, bitter chuckle. "Yeah. He did. The kid kept that scrap like it was a lifeline until the bird-freak shredded it in front of him."
Aizawa stood in silence for a moment. Then, reaching into the pocket of his utility trousers, he pulled out a plain, durable black tactical notebook and a dark ballpoint pen. Flipping to a clean, heavy cardstock page at the back, Aizawa clicked the pen and wrote in neat, bold strokes:
To Katsuki,
Keep moving forward. You are stronger where you are now, than where you came from.
~ Eraserhead
Aizawa carefully tore the thick page along its perforation, folding it once. He held it out across the narrow aisle.
Touya stared at the folded paper, his eyebrows raising slightly in surprise. He looked from the hero's exhausted, sincere dark eyes down to the slip of paper.
"You're giving this to a wanted villain's kid?" Touya asked, a hint of dry amusement masking the quiet respect in his voice.
"I'm giving it to a kid who survived hell," Aizawa countered evenly. "Give it to him with the blankets."
Touya reached out, his long fingers taking the note and sliding it safely into the inner zip pocket of his coat. "He's going to stare at this for three days straight without blinking."
"Tell him Eri says hello," Aizawa added quietly, picking up his shopping basket. "I'll tell him." Touya picked up his own haul, giving the underground pro a brief, civil nod. "Have a quiet afternoon, Eraser."
"Stay out of trouble, Touya," Aizawa replied, turning toward the checkout counters.
Touya watched the hero round the corner before turning toward the register with a faint, satisfied smirk. Katsuki was going to love the new blankets, and the little piece of his past that had finally been given back on his own terms.
The scent of damp cedar and rain followed Touya through the rear threshold of the villa. The safehouse was quiet, save for the rhythmic clicking of a handheld gaming console from the front lounge where Spinner was likely slumped on the floor mats.
Touya kicked his wet boots off by the entryway, balancing two oversized shopping bags packed to bursting with fresh, dense textiles. He shook the cold droplets from his hair, the faint scent of winter pine and dry smoke rolling off him in steady, calm waves.
"Mama?" A blond head poked out from the kitchen doorway. Katsuki stepped into the hall, wearing sweatpants and an oversized black hoodie that swallowed his frame down to mid-thigh, a wooden spoon clutched firmly in one hand. The lingering, sweet fragrance of seasoned pork and simmering miso broth drifted out behind him.
Seeing the sheer volume of the shopping bags, Katsuki’s bright red eyes went wide. He dropped the wooden spoon onto a small ceramic rest by the doorframe and rushed over, dropping to his knees on the polished wood floor.
"You actually found the thick ones?" Katsuki asked, his voice breathless with excitement as his hands plunged into the nearest paper bag. He pulled out the cream-colored plush fleece throw, burying his fingers deep into the velvety pile.
"Mama, feel this! This is so much thicker than the ones Twice found at the discount outlet!" Touya let out a low, fond chuckle, sinking down onto the edge of the hallway floorboards and leaning his back against the timber wall.
"Told you I'd find the good stuff. Got the heavy brown wool one for the foundation, three sets of brushed cotton pillowcases, and two weighted faux-fur blankets to reinforce the high rim."
Katsuki practically glowed, his sweet burnt-caramel scent blooming so rich and contented that it filled the entire corridor. For an Omega who had spent nearly a decade denied a single soft scrap of cloth, the simple luxury of clean, heavy textiles was a treasure beyond measure.
He began methodically pulling the throws onto the floor, smoothing them out with meticulous care. "Dinner's almost ready, too," Katsuki mumbled proudly, his cheeks tinted with a pleased flush. "I made extra rice 'cause Dad said he'd train with me in the courtyard if I ate a full portion."
"Good. Don't let Tomura skip his meal either, he's been staring at shipment manifests all morning," Touya said, watching the boy's nimble hands work.
A quiet moment settled between them. Touya reached into his inner coat pocket, his long fingers finding the crisp, folded sheet of cardstock. He pulled it out, turning the paper over between his scarred knuckles.
"Hey, pup," Touya murmured softly. Katsuki looked up from his pile of fleece, tilting his head. "Yeah?" Touya hummed. "Ran into someone at the store."
Katsuki’s posture stiffened slightly, an instinctual flicker of wariness darting across his features. "Who? Yakuza goons?"
"No," Touya said, extending his hand, holding the folded paper out across the space between them. "An underground rat with bad posture and a habit of buying pastel blankets for his ward."
Katsuki froze. His gaze dropped to the thick white paper. Slowly, as if handling something immensely fragile that might shatter under the slightest pressure, Katsuki took the cardstock from Touya's fingers.
He unfolded it with trembling hands. His eyes locked onto the neat, disciplined handwriting, reading the words once, twice, three times over.
A sharp, hitching gasp tore from Katsuki's throat. His fingers traced the bold ink of the signature, remembering the torn, creased photograph Chisaki had reduced to confetti on the cold dungeon floor. The phantom pain of that moment, the feeling of absolute, hollow abandonment, seemed to dissolve beneath the solid weight of the paper in his hands.
"He was buying blankets for Eri," Touya added gently, reaching out to smooth a hand over Katsuki’s blond hair, letting his thumb brush across the boy's cheek. "Said she's doing good. She's learning how to smile. And she told him to tell you hello."
A fat, hot tear spilled over Katsuki’s lashes, splashing onto his wrist, followed immediately by a quiet, watery laugh. It wasn't the broken, agonizing weeping of the cold, underground cells; it was the pure, unburdened relief of a closed chapter.
"She's smiling..." Katsuki whispered, his chest heaving with a deep, cleansing breath. He pressed the note flat against his chest, right over his heart, closing his eyes as a brilliant, radiant smile broke across his own face. "She's okay."
"Yeah, kid. She's okay," Touya said softly, his own turquoise eyes softening with quiet satisfaction. "And so are you."
The heavy sliding door to the study rattled open, and Tomura stepped into the hallway, rubbing his red-rimmed eyes. The Alpha's gaze swept over the mound of blankets scattered across the floor, the tear-stained teenager, and Touya sitting calmly in the middle of it all.
"What's all the noise?" Tomura grunted, though his Alpha pheromones flared with immediate, protective inquiry as he stepped down the hall. "Why is the pup crying?"
"I'm fine, Dad," Katsuki sniffled, wiping his face with his oversized sleeve before standing up, clutching the note securely in one hand and the cream fleece in the other. He puffed his chest out with a bright, defiant grin. "Dinner is ready. Go wash your hands before I let Twice eat your share."
Tomura blinked, a faint, exasperated smirk tugging at the corner of his chapped lips as he ruffled Katsuki's hair with four fingers. "Bossy brat."
"You love it," Touya muttered, standing up and scooping up the remaining armful of blankets. "Come on. Let's eat, and then we're helping Katsuki build the biggest damn nest this villa has ever seen."
The underground tactical briefing room at UA was dim, lit only by the glare of the central projector displaying high-resolution surveillance photos of the Yakuza raid and the recent civilian reports from the prefecture’s outer districts.
Seated around the heavy steel table were Sir Nighteye, Fat Gum, All Might, Detective Tsukauchi, and Nedzu. Endeavor stood near the perimeter wall, his arms folded across his massive chest, the flames around his beard flaring low and volatile.
Aizawa stood at the head of the table, his hands resting flat against the surface. "I spoke with Todoroki Touya two days ago." Aizawa stated, his tone level and entirely devoid of hesitation.
Endeavor’s head snapped up, his fiery eyes blazing. "You spoke with him? You had a visual on Touya and you didn't call for immediate tactical containment?!"
"If I had initiated combat inside a civilian store, half the block would have burned down, and we would have lost any trace of their current mental state," Aizawa countered sharply, locking eyes with the Number Two Hero until Endeavor's jaw tightened into stony silence.
"More importantly, I confirmed the status of the Omega pup, Katsuki." Aizawa brought up Katsuki’s file, the pediatric medical records from over a decade ago alongside the grim forensic data recovered from Chisaki’s underground compound.
"The boy was subjected to eight years of systematic deconstruction, surgical extraction, and quirk forced-transfers after Overhaul took over from the previous Boss," Aizawa explained to the room.
"The Hassaikai didn't just use him to heal injuries; they weaponized his dynamic and broke his psychology down to raw survival. The League didn't kidnap him as a hostage. Touya and Shigaraki pulled him out of that vault, and the boy actively refused my hand, to stay with them."
"He's a captive suffering from severe trauma bonding," Nighteye chimed in, adjusting his glasses. "The rational course of action is an immediate recovery raid to place him into psychiatric and physiological quarantine."
"And that rational approach is exactly what will destroy him," Aizawa cut in, his voice ringing with absolute authority. "If we kick down their door, deploy capture weapons, and drag him kicking and screaming into a government hospital room surrounded by armed guards and sterile needles, we are doing nothing different from what Chisaki Kai did. We will confirm every lie Overhaul fed him about heroes."
Aizawa leaned forward, looking directly at Nedzu and Tsukauchi. "The boy is eating. He is sleeping in a stable environment. Touya was shopping for nesting blankets for him, not weapons. They have integrated him as a pack pup. If we want Katsuki to ever trust the hero system, if we want him to heal and have a real future, we cannot hunt him like contraband. We monitor the perimeter, ensure he isn't being harmed, and let him come to us out of his own free will."
Nedzu folded his paws on the table, nodding slowly. "A compassionate and logically sound assessment, Aizawa-kun. Aggressive intervention would only trigger extreme psychological regression. We hold our strike teams."
Back at the forested safehouse, weeks of proper meals and safety had turned into intense, daily conditioning.
In the open dirt courtyard behind the villa, the dust cleared to reveal Spinner flat on his back, his heavy blade clattering across the stones as Katsuki stood over him, panting lightly, his stance low and perfectly balanced. Katsuki had absorbed the basic defensive grips with terrifying speed, pairing his natural agility with sharp, aggressive counter-strikes.
"Yield!" Spinner groaned, raising a hand in defeat. "Kid's got hands like lead bricks."
"Too slow with your tail swing, lizard!" Katsuki grinned, his sweet burnt-caramel scent flaring with victorious confidence.
Before he could drop his guard, a silver glint flashed from his blind spot. Toga lunged with a practice knife, laughing wildly as she aimed a slash toward his side.
Katsuki didn't flinch; he ducked beneath the sweep, caught her wrist with a sharp twist, and swept her lead foot out from under her, pinning her neatly to the training mat with a decisive knee to her shoulder blades.
"Aww, no fair!" Toga pouted from the dirt, though her golden eyes shone with sheer admiration. "Katsukiiii, you're getting too good! You're going to be stronger than all of us!"
"Get up, pup," a rough, dry voice called from the edge of the porch. Tomura stepped down into the dirt, pulling his dark hoodie over his head to reveal his lean, corded frame. He raised both hands, curling four fingers on each while keeping both pinkies rigidly extended in the air.
"Let's see if you can actually land a clean hit on an Alpha," Tomura challenged, a faint, scratchy smirk pulling at his chapped lips.
Katsuki’s red eyes narrowed into fierce focus. He lunged forward, feinting a right hook before dropping low to sweep Tomura's center of gravity. Tomura sidestepped with feline reflexes, but Katsuki anticipated the pivot, driving his elbow upward in a clean strike that clipped Tomura’s collarbone and forced the League leader to stumble back two full steps to keep his footing.
Tomura caught his balance, blinking in genuine astonishment before letting out a low, raspy laugh of raw pride. He reached out, clamping four fingers firmly onto Katsuki's blond crown and ruffling his hair until the boy squirmed. "Not bad, brat. You almost had me on the dirt."
"Next time you're going down, Dad!" Katsuki puffed out his chest, beaming under the praise as Touya leaned against the veranda railing, watching with a fond, quiet warmth in his turquoise eyes.
Later that afternoon, Touya took Katsuki out to the quiet shopping district on the edge of town to pick up fresh produce and new training wraps.
Katsuki walked close to Touya’s side, wearing a heavy black jacket and a dark beanie, his posture tall and confident.
As they stepped out of an apothecary alley, two figures turned the corner. Aizawa was in civilian clothes, his dark hair tied back in a low ponytail, accompanied by Shinsou Hitoshi, who was carrying a bag of convenience store groceries.
Both groups stopped ten paces apart.
Shinsou’s eyes widened slightly as he recognized Katsuki, no longer the trembling, hollowed boy in bloodstained hospital clothes he had tried to slide a tracker onto in the damp loading bay, but a healthy, sharp-eyed teenager with color in his cheeks and strength in his stride.
Katsuki froze, his breath catching as he recognized both the underground pro and the apprentice who had whispered words of comfort in the dark. Instinctively, Katsuki shifted half a step closer to Touya, but he didn't cower. He held his ground, his chin raised.
Touya kept his hands casually in his pockets, his posture relaxed. "Afternoon, Eraser."
"Touya," Aizawa replied evenly. His dark gaze drifted down to Katsuki. Aizawa’s tired eyes softened with subtle, profound relief as he took in the teenager's clear skin, unbruised wrists, and steady pulse. "You look well, Katsuki."
Katsuki swallowed, his red eyes darting between Aizawa and Shinsou before he gave a small, respectful nod. "I... I got your note. Thank you."
A faint, almost imperceptible curve touched the corner of Aizawa's mouth. "You kept moving forward."
Shinsou stepped forward half a pace, offering a quiet, friendly nod of his own. "Good to see you on your feet, kid."
"He's more than on his feet," Touya said, resting a protective, scarred hand casually over Katsuki’s shoulder. "He just put two of our top enforcers in the dirt an hour ago."
Aizawa reached into his dark jacket, moving slowly and deliberately so as not to trigger any defensive quirks. He pulled out a plain, durable business card with a single handwritten phone number inked across the back, holding it out toward them.
"I know where you stand, and I'm not here to corner either of you," Aizawa said, his deep voice carrying quiet sincerity. "But if you ever find yourself in trouble, or if you ever decide you want to speak with Eri yourself... this is my direct private line. No dispatchers. No strike teams. Just me."
Katsuki looked up at Touya. Touya didn't pull him away, he simply gave Katsuki's shoulder a gentle, encouraging squeeze, leaving the decision entirely in the teenager's hands.
Stepping forward, Katsuki reached out and took the card from Aizawa's fingers. He looked down at the numbers, then looked directly into the hero's eyes with steady, resolute calm.
"I have a family now," Katsuki said clearly, his voice steady and proud. "They take care of me, and I take care of them."
"I know," Aizawa replied softly. "The door is just open if you ever need it." Katsuki tucked the card safely into the inner pocket of his jacket, right beside the note he carried everywhere. "Tell Eri... tell her I'm getting really strong. And that I'm happy."
"I will," Aizawa promised. With a final, respectful nod, Touya turned Katsuki around, guiding the boy back down the sunlit street toward the mountain path.
Walking beside his Mama, Katsuki kept his head held high, knowing that the past no longer held him captive, and that his future was his own to choose.
The business card sat on the low wooden table in the villa’s study, its handwritten ink catching the dim glow of the late-afternoon lamp.
Katsuki sat in front of the low desk, his hands were buried in the pockets of his dark oversized hoodie, his fingers nervously curling against the lining.
Touya sat cross-legged on the floor cushions, nursing a warm ceramic mug of tea, while Tomura leaned against the bookshelf, silently reviewing equipment supply routes.
"Dad. Mama." The soft crack in Katsuki’s voice pulled both adults' attention instantly. Tomura lowered the papers, his crimson eyes locking onto the teenager, while Touya set his mug down with a gentle clatter.
"What is it, pup?" Touya asked, his tone dropping into that warm, grounding hum that always settled Katsuki's nerves.
Katsuki swallowed hard, his sweet burnt-caramel scent dipping with a faint edge of nervous hesitation. He looked down at the business card on the table, then up at his parents with wide, earnest red eyes.
"I... I want to use the number," Katsuki whispered. "I want to ask Eraserhead if I can see Eri. Just once. Just to see her face and know she's really smiling." He quickly held his hands out, his scent spiking with frantic reassurance.
"I'm not leaving! I'm staying right here with you guys forever, I swear! I just... I promised her, in the dark, that we’d both make it out. I need her to see that I did."
A heavy quiet fell over the room. Touya looked over at Tomura, his turquoise eyes searching his mate's expression. Tomura didn't snap or scratch at his neck. His posture remained tall and solid, his crimson gaze sweeping over Katsuki’s healthy, determined face.
The boy was no longer the broken child shivering on an operating table; he was their pack's fierce, capable teenager who had earned his own ground.
"If it's a trap, we turn the meeting ground into dust," Tomura stated coldly, though the subtle release of his alpha pheromones was entirely protective. He reached down, tapping the card with four fingers.
"Call the underground rat. Set the terms. We pick the location." Katsuki beamed, a brilliant, radiant smile breaking across his face. "Thank you, Dad!"
The meeting was arranged for midday at a quiet, secluded park pavilion situated on a neutral hillside overlooking the prefecture's outer reservoir. Dense treeline surrounded the open wooden gazebo, offering clear sightlines and easy escape routes.
Touya and Tomura stood twenty paces back in the shadowed tree cover, their sharp, predatory presence cloaked but fully coiled to strike if a single hero crossed the line.
Katsuki walked up the stone steps into the pavilion alone, his dark coat zipped high against the crisp autumn breeze.
Waiting near the low railing was Aizawa, dressed in dark, civilian layers, his posture relaxed with his hands in his pockets. And standing right beside him, bundled in a warm red duffel coat and soft woolen mittens, was Eri.
The little girl’s ruby eyes went wide the moment Katsuki stepped into the light. Her small horn twitched beneath her silver bangs, her breath hitching in a tiny, disbelieving gasp. "Katsuki... Niisan...?"
Katsuki’s knees hit the wooden planks of the gazebo with a soft thud. Tears instantly blurred his vision, his arms opening wide as his rich, warm burnt-sugar scent spilled out in pure, unburdened love.
"Eri," Katsuki choked out. Eri broke into a full sprint, her small boots clattering against the wood before she launched herself directly into his chest. Katsuki caught her tightly, pulling her into his lap and burying his face into her silver hair, sobbing quietly with overwhelming relief.
"You're big! And warm!" Eri cried into his shoulder, her tiny hands clutching fistfuls of his hoodie. "Your hands aren't bleeding anymore Aizawa-san said you were okay, but I wanted to see... I wanted to see you without the bandages!"
"I'm okay, Eri. I'm okay," Katsuki whispered, pulling back just enough to frame her soft, tear-stained cheeks with his hands. He smoothed her hair back from her forehead, his smile trembling with profound joy as he saw the bright, healthy color in her face.
"Look at you. You're wearing pretty red coats now. No more cold rooms. No more Kai-san."
"No more Kai-san," Eri echoed softly, a bright, tearful smile blooming across her face as she wrapped her arms securely around his neck. "I have a big dorm now! And Aizawa-san makes me apple slices!"
"That's because you deserve all the apple slices in the world," Katsuki laughed wetly, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple.
Aizawa stood quietly by the railing, watching the two children with a soft, rare gentleness in his dark eyes. A few paces down the pavilion path, another figure stood guard, an escort Aizawa had brought along to keep watch on the outer perimeter.
Midoriya Izuku stood beneath the canopy of a large maple tree, his green curls catching the sunlight. He was wearing his school tracksuit, his wide emerald eyes locked onto Katsuki with quiet, reverent awe.
Izuku vividly remembered the horrifying day in the alleyway, the frail, terrified teenager in tattered hospital clothes who had clutched his costume in sheer agony before Chisaki dragged him back into the shadows. For weeks after the raid, Izuku had agonized over failing to save him that afternoon.
Hearing soft footsteps, Katsuki set Eri gently on the wooden bench and turned around. His red eyes met Izuku's across the pavilion floor.
Midoriya stepped forward, his expression earnest and slightly nervous, stopping a respectful distance away with his hands loosely at his sides.
"Hi, Katsuki-kun," Deku said softly, his voice full of genuine warmth. "I... I don't know if you remember me from the alleyway. I'm Midoriya Izuku. Deku."
Katsuki looked at the green-haired boy, tilting his head slightly. The phantom terror of that sunlit afternoon flickered through his mind, but it held no power over him anymore. He puffed out his chest, stepping forward with a cool, confident posture that took Deku completely by surprise.
"I remember you, freckles," Katsuki said, a faint, cocky smirk tugging at his lips. "You looked like you were going to cry harder than I was back then."
Deku blinked, a startled, breathless laugh escaping his throat as a light blush dusted his cheeks. "Yeah... I guess I was. I was really worried about you." Izuku’s smile softened, his gaze taking in Katsuki’s healthy frame, the strength in his shoulders, and the sharp, unbroken light in his eyes. "I'm just really glad to see you looking so strong. You look like you're doing great."
"I am great," Katsuki replied proudly, his tone leaving no room for doubt as his eyes flicked toward the treeline where Touya and Tomura watched over him. "I have people who protect me now. Real family."
"I know," Deku said with a sincere nod. "Aizawa-sensei told us. As long as you're safe and happy... that's all that matters."
Eri tugged on Katsuki's sleeve, holding out a small, folded piece of paper with a childish crayon drawing of an apple and two smiling figures with blond and silver hair. "I drew this for your new nest, Katsuki-niisan."
Katsuki's chest swelled with immense warmth. Taking the drawing, he folded it carefully and slipped it into his pocket right beside Eraserhead's note. "I'll put it right in the center of my nest, Eri," Katsuki promised softly, giving her one last, tight hug.
Standing up, Katsuki gave Deku and Aizawa a firm, respectful nod. "I have to go. My parents are waiting."
"Take care of yourself, Katsuki," Aizawa said quietly.
"Bye-bye, Katsuki-niisan!" Eri beamed, waving her mitten vigorously.
Katsuki smiled, turning on his heel and walking down the pavilion path toward the dense forest.
Slipping beneath the shadowed canopy of the trees, Touya stepped out to meet him, wrapping an arm securely around Katsuki's shoulders and scenting his hair with cool pine, while Tomura rested a heavy, grounding hand on the nape of the boy's neck.
Surrounded by his parents, their scents blending together in complete harmony, Katsuki walked back toward the safehouse with a light, unburdened heart.
The fluorescent lights of the UA conference room hummed quietly against the heavy silence. On the central screen, the surveillance stills from the hillside reservoir displayed a serene scene: Katsuki kneeling on the pavilion floor with Eri clinging to his neck, smiling without a trace of fear, flanked only by the distant, watchful silhouettes of Touya and Tomura in the tree line.
Aizawa stood at the head of the long table, his hands resting flat against the polished oak. Detective Tsukauchi, Nedzu, Sir Nighteye, Fat Gum, and All Might sat in attendance, while Endeavor remained rigid near the back wall, his flames subdued to a steady, smoldering ember.
"The meeting concluded without conflict," Aizawa reported, his voice gravelly and firm. "The boy initiated contact through a private channel solely to verify Eri’s well-being. He was well-nourished, physically sound, and completely free of the trauma-induced subservience he exhibited during his captivity under Chisaki. More importantly, he stated clearly and unequivocally that he considers Touya and Shigaraki his family."
"He was kept beneath the earth for twelve years," Nighteye noted, adjusting his glasses thoughtfully as he looked over the vitals log Midoriya had recorded after the encounter. "Yet the physiological data shows no markers of coercion or biological distress. His dynamic pheromones were completely stabilized."
"The boy made his choice," Tsukauchi said, closing the thick manila folder marked:
Case Name: Shie Hassaikai Recovery.
Subject: Katsuki.
Designation: Omega, Male.
Age: 16 Years Old.
Case number: 1 2 3 0 9 8 6 5 7
Details: Abducted Hostage (Under Active Threat), Severe Trauma Bonding, further details to be added.
"From an investigative and legal standpoint, continuing to classify Katsuki as an abducted hostage under active threat would only justify aggressive hero intervention that risks destabilizing his recovery. The League has ceased hostile movements in the prefecture, and their focus has shifted entirely to maintaining territorial seclusion around their den."
Nedzu raised a small paw, a gentle, decisive glint in his dark eyes. "A child who survived a decade of deconstruction requires safety above all else. Forcing him into state custody would be an act of institutional violence. As Principal of UA and advisor to the Safety Commission, I recommend we officially classify Katsuki as an independent minor under private guardianship and close the active recovery case."
Around the table, nods followed. Even Endeavor, his fiery gaze lingering on the distant image of his eldest son standing vigilant in the woods, offered no objection, slowly turning away with his jaw set in quiet acceptance.
"Then the case is closed," Tsukauchi stamped the file shut.
Three months drifted by in peaceful, unbroken rhythm. Autumn gave way to the crisp chill of winter, and the mountain safehouse had settled into a comfortable, domestic routine. Katsuki had grown taller, both reasons being from no longer being in captivity and also because he didn't make himself smaller by cowering anymore, his frame filling out with lean, athletic muscle from daily training with Tomura and the League.
He moved with the quiet grace of a protected Omega who knew he was fiercely loved, his sweet burnt-caramel scent rich, warm, and entirely unburdened.
One clear Saturday morning, an official escort van, arranged through Aizawa’s private channel, arrived at the secluded mountain road to pick him up. Touya and Tomura had vetted every detail of the visit, agreeing to let Katsuki spend the afternoon at the UA Heights Alliance dorms where Eri was currently staying under faculty supervision.
When the heavy front doors of Class 1-A’s dorm building opened, the cavernous common room fell into an immediate, curious hush.
Aizawa stepped inside first, followed closely by Katsuki. The teenager wore a high-collared dark shearling jacket over an oversized crimson sweater, dark cargo pants, and sturdy combat boots. He carried a large, carefully wrapped bakery box tied with red twine in one hand, his posture tall and completely self-assured as his sharp red eyes swept over the wide room.
"Katsuki-niisan!" A silver streak bolted across the polished hardwood. Eri threw her arms around Katsuki’s legs, nearly knocking the bakery box askew. Katsuki let out a soft, genuine laugh, immediately shifting the box to one arm while crouching down to scoop the little girl up against his hip.
"Hey, squirt," Katsuki murmured, his scent blooming into a soothing, sweet warmth as he rested his chin against her silver hair. "Look at you. Still getting into trouble?"
"No! I've been helping bake cookies!" Eri beamed proudly, pointing a tiny finger toward the kitchen counter.
Standing around the open-concept living area, the students of Class 1-A watched with wide, fascinated eyes. Midoriya was already smiling brightly from the breakfast bar, while the rest of the class hesitated, taking in the teenager who had been the subject of so many hushed faculty briefings.
"Whoa... Is that him?" Kirishima whispered, stepping forward with his hands casually up, an open, friendly grin spreading across his face. "Hey, man! Midoriya told us about you! I'm Kirishima Eijirou! That jacket is manly as hell!"
Katsuki raised an eyebrow, sizing up the red-haired boy before offering a sharp, cocky smirk. "Thanks hair-dye, I take care of my stuff."
Kirishima’s eyes lit up with instant respect, letting out a booming laugh. "Hair-dye! I like this guy already!"
"He's remarkably composed for someone visiting a hero facility," Iida observed, chopping his arms with formal precision as he stepped up to introduce himself as class representative, bowing deeply. "Welcome to the Class 1-A dormitories, Katsuki-kun! We are honored to host you! I am Iida Tenya!"
"Keep it down, four-eyes, you're going to give me a headache," Katsuki retorted smoothly, though the amused spark in his eyes showed he wasn't genuinely annoyed.
He walked over to the central dining table, setting down the large box and untying the twine with nimble fingers. "I brought cinnamon muffins and fresh orange syrup cake. Toga and I made them this morning. If anyone leaves crumbs on the floor, you're answering to me."
"Pastries?!" Ashido Mina gasped, practically sliding across the floorboards alongside Kaminari and Sero. "He bakes?! That smells incredible!"
"Of course it's incredible, I don't make garbage," Katsuki huffed as the students eagerly gathered around to take slices, filling the common room with lively chatter and laughter.
From the sofa, Todoroki Shouto sat quietly, holding a mug of green tea. His mismatched eyes tracked Katsuki's movements, lingering on the way the teenager laughed easily with Eri and playfully swatted Kaminari's reaching hand away from the last muffin.
Katsuki noticed the gaze and walked over, sitting on the opposite end of the wide couch with Eri curled contently beside him. He looked directly at the dual-quirk user, his sharp red eyes softening just a fraction with understanding.
"You're Shouto," Katsuki said quietly, his tone even and calm. Shouto set his tea down on the low table. "I am. You... Live with Touya-niisan."
"He's my Mama," Katsuki replied without a shred of hesitation or shame, his chin raised in quiet defiance. "He's happy, Shouto. His body doesn't hurt anymore, his skin is healed, and he sleeps in a warm nest every night. He wanted me to tell you that he's doing good."
A visible tremor ran through Shouto's shoulders. The heavy, lingering weight of years of family grief seemed to lighten in the youngest Todoroki's chest. Shouto let out a slow, quiet breath, a faint, genuine smile touching his lips for the first time in months.
"Thank you, Katsuki," Shoto murmured softly. "Tell him... tell him I'm glad."
"I will," Katsuki nodded, reaching out and giving Shoto’s shoulder a brief, firm pat of solidarity.
By late afternoon, the winter sun began dipping below the campus horizon, casting long golden beams across the dorm floor. The common room was warm, filled with empty cake plates and the comfortable exhaustion of a day well spent.
Standing by the doorway as the escort van pulled up to the curb, Katsuki knelt down to give Eri one last, tight hug, kissing the crown of her head. "Be good, squirt. Keep practicing your smiles."
"I will! Come back soon, Katsuki-niisan!" Eri waved happily from Aizawa’s side.
"See ya, Katsuki! Don't be a stranger!" Kaminari called out from the doorway, with Deku and Shouto offering warm nods of farewell.
Katsuki gave a confident wave over his shoulder as he stepped out into the crisp evening air. Climbing into the vehicle, he looked through the window at the bright, open sky, his heart completely steady. He had made peace with the world beyond the trees, but as the van turned toward the quiet mountain roads where Touya and Tomura were waiting to welcome him back to the nest, Katsuki knew exactly where he belonged.
The morning after the Sports Festival, the campus grounds were filled with festive banners, food stalls, and the steady chatter of visiting crowds.
The grueling tournament from the day before had given way to the cultural showcase, and the main auditorium was packed to capacity for the grand live concert.
From the private mezzanine box overlooking the stage, Katsuki leaned his forearms against the polished railing, dressed in a dark denim jacket over a soft purple hoodie. Beside him, Aizawa occupied a corner seat, nursing a can of black coffee, while Eri sat swinging her legs in rhythm to the lively chatter buzzing through the hall.
Katsuki’s sharp red eyes flicked over the stage setup. He was still replaying the matches from the afternoon before in his mind, Deku seizing gold with explosive blitzes, Shouto taking silver with sweeping displays of fire and ice, and Sero, surprisingly, snatching a stunning bronze by out-traversing the heavy hitters across the stadium. Before the thoughts could linger, the auditorium lights plunged into pitch black.
A collective cheer swept through the crowd as vibrant spotlights erupted, illuminating the stage as the live band launched into a tight, driving groove.
Front and center at the microphone, clutching her electric bass with confident precision, was Jirou Kyoka.
Her voice soared through the massive acoustic space, rich, melodic, and resonant, carrying an emotional clarity that cut straight through the roaring crowd. The harmonies she layered over the pulsing bassline felt organic and alive, filling the auditorium with effortless warmth and commanding every corner of the hall.
Katsuki’s sharp focus softened instantly. For someone whose earliest memories were saturated with the cold clinking of surgical tools, fluorescent hums, and sub-level horrors, music of this magnitude was a revelation. Jirou’s voice carried a rare, clear frequency that bypassed all conscious defense.
Katsuki’s scent glands subtly reacted, releasing a soft, fragrant warmth of sweet burnt caramel that hummed with deep, biological serenity. The natural tension in his shoulders melted away, his posture settling into complete, tranquil ease as he let her singing wash over him.
When the final reverberating chord faded and the auditorium erupted into deafening cheers, Katsuki clapped firmly, his red eyes shining with genuine admiration. "That girl with the jacks," Katsuki noted quietly to Aizawa. "She’s the real deal."
"Come on," Aizawa said, rising from his seat. "Let's head backstage before the main area gets overcrowded." Guided down the private staff corridor, Katsuki and Eri reached the spacious backstage staging area. The room was bustling with lively chatter as the class packed up gear and celebrated their performance and podium finishes.
Standing near the amplifier racks, Jirou was carefully coiling a heavy audio cable, her earphone jacks swaying gently as she caught her breath. She looked flushed and slightly nervous as the adrenaline of the concert began to settle, tucking a strand of dark purple hair behind her ear.
Katsuki walked over, his dark combat boots thudding softly against the concrete floor. Jirou looked up, her dark eyes widening slightly as she took in the tall, sharp-eyed teenager. Having heard about his past from Aizawa and Midoriya, she stiffened just a fraction, unsure of how he would react to something as loud and intense as their rock set.
"Hey," Jirou said, offering a small, slightly awkward wave with her jack. "Katsuki, right? Hope we didn't give you a headache out there."
Katsuki stopped two paces away, shaking his head with absolute certainty. "Not even close."
He met her gaze directly, his sharp features softening into an expression of unmasked sincerity. "Your voice," Katsuki said, his tone steady, clear, and quiet enough to carry genuine weight. "It's soothing. Really beautiful. The way you sang... It made my whole chest feel warm and settled. Like being wrapped in a good nest."
The immediate space around them seemed to drop an octave.
Jirou’s breath hitched in her throat, a bright, fiery blush blooming across her pale cheeks all the way to the tips of her earlobe jacks.
In secondary dynamic biology, praise from an Omega carried an ancient, profound significance. Omegas were acutely sensitive to sensory overstimulation and underlying emotional currents. For an Omega, especially one who had survived severe physiological trauma, to declare an acoustic frequency soothing was the ultimate, unfiltered testament to safety, comfort, and emotional resonance. It meant her music didn't just sound good; it provided genuine biological sanctuary.
"Y-You... You really mean that?" Jirou stammered, her hands instinctively coming up to fiddle with her jacks as her heart hammered with pure, overwhelming joy. Her eyes sparkled with bright, ecstatic excitement, a wide, breathtaking grin breaking across her face that she couldn't suppress if she tried. "It really... It felt comfortable to you?"
"I don't say shit I don't mean," Katsuki huffed, though a faint, pleased smirk tugged at his lips as his sweet caramel scent lingered in gentle approval. "You carried the whole damn auditorium. Keep singing like that."
Jirou let out a breathless, triumphant laugh, practically vibrating with pride as she pumped a fist in the air. "Yes! Thank you, Katsuki! Seriously, that... That means more than the entire crowd cheering!"
Eri ran up, giggling as she took Katsuki’s hand, and the teenager stood proudly among the students, whole, respected, and completely free to share the warmth he had fought so hard to reclaim.
Before Katsuki could step away with Eri, a whirlwind of energy cut across the backstage floor.
Mina slid into the circle with a triumphant grin, her hands planted firmly on her hips, flanked closely by Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. The four of them were practically buzzing with post-performance adrenaline, their casual, easy camaraderie filling the space.
"Hey, hey, hey! Katsuki!" Mina beamed, pointing a claw-tipped finger toward the festival exit. "Since you're already here and not locked away in that spooky forest, you're coming with us! We are officially hitting the food stalls!"
"Yeah, man, you've gotta come!" Kaminari chimed in, grinning as he threw an arm over Sero's shoulder. "Class 2-B set up an insanely good yakisoba stand, and there’s this gourmet meat-skewer cart near the main quad that Sero swore we'd conquer if we survived the set."
"Bronze medal privileges mean I'm picking the food, and I say we're getting skewers," Sero laughed, thumbing his chest proudly before turning to Katsuki. "My treat, since you watched the match yesterday."
"Come on, Katsuki! It'll be awesome to grab lunch together. You can't leave UA without eating some festival street food with the squad!"
Katsuki blinked, momentarily taken aback by the sheer, unbridled force of their invite.
In the past, crowded spaces and clamoring voices would have triggered raw flight-or-fight instincts, but looking at the four eager, smiling faces in front of him, there was no threat, only an open, genuine circle offering him a place in it.
He glanced down at Eri, who looked up at him with wide, hopeful ruby eyes, already nodding enthusiastically. Katsuki then looked over at Aizawa, who gave a slow, barely perceptible nod of permission from the doorway.
A sharp, cocky smirk tugged at the corner of Katsuki’s lips. He crossed his arms over his chest, his sweet burnt-caramel scent rich with amused confidence. "Fine," Katsuki huffed, tilting his head with mock arrogance. "Lead the way, tape-elbows. But if the skewers are dry, you're paying double."
"Yes!" Mina cheered, throwing her arms up in victory as Kirishima let out a booming laugh, clapping her on the shoulder.
"Deal, man! Let's go!" Sero grinned, leading the group out through the backstage doors into the sunlit festival courtyard, with Katsuki walking tall and proud right in the center of the chatter.
The golden light of late afternoon lengthened across the campus grounds, painting the concrete pathways in deep amber and violet. The chaotic rush of the festival had begun to wind down; the bustling crowds were thinning, and the distant clatter of folding tables and collapsing stall frames echoed softly through the cool evening air.
After an afternoon of sharing food and navigating the lively stalls, the rest of the group had gradually dispersed. Sero and Kaminari had been roped into hauling heavy equipment back to the dorms, while Mina had happily taken Eri by the hand to secure a good spot on the main lawn with the rest of Class 2-A.
Katsuki leaned against the smooth metal railing of an elevated terrace overlooking the central courtyard, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his dark shearling jacket. The breeze picked up, carrying the faint, crisp scent of dusk and sweet festival syrup.
Beside him, Kirishima leaned his forearms on the bar. Without the energetic buffer of their friends, a sudden, quiet lull settled between them.
Kirishima cleared his throat lightly, his fingers tapping an uncertain rhythm against the painted steel. A faint, dusty rose color crept across the bridge of his nose, his crimson eyes flicking sideways toward Katsuki before darting quickly back out toward the courtyard.
"Crazy how fast the day went," Kirishima murmured, his voice softer than usual, lacking its typical booming confidence. "Feels like we were just setting up the soundboard an hour ago."
Katsuki ducked his chin slightly into the plush wool of his high collar, feeling an unfamiliar warmth prickle at the tips of his ears. In the quiet space between them, his sweet burnt-caramel scent bloomed with a soft, hesitant flutter. He wasn't used to standing this close to an Alpha who wasn't pack, especially one whose presence felt so open and gentle.
"Festival people move slow," Katsuki mumbled, keeping his eyes fixed on a maintenance cart below. "Took tape-elbows twenty minutes just to pick a sauce."
Kirishima let out a quiet, breathy chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand. "Yeah, Sero’s terrible under pressure like that." He hesitated for a second, shifting his weight so his shoulder was only a couple of inches from Katsuki's. "I'm... I'm really glad you stayed, Katsuki. Just to hang out with us."
Katsuki glanced at him from beneath his pale lashes. Seeing the earnest, slightly nervous look on the red-haired boy's face, Katsuki felt his chest tighten with something shy and entirely new. He pulled his hands a little deeper into his pockets to hide the slight tremor of his fingers.
"I didn't mind it," Katsuki replied softly, his voice barely louder than the evening breeze. "It was... Nice. Better than sitting inside all day."
Kirishima’s sharp-toothed smile returned, smaller and more hesitant this time, his cheeks darkening another shade. "Yeah. It was really nice having you here."
A low, resonant thump echoed from the center of the far sports field, cutting through the quiet terrace. The stadium floodlights shut off in unison, plunging the campus into the soft, blue shadow of twilight. A second later, a brilliant golden comet shrieked upward into the darkening sky, bursting into a massive canopy of sparkling gold and emerald sparks that illuminated the terrace in vibrant, shimmering light.
The sudden flash made them both look up, and as they did, their shoulders brushed lightly against each other. Neither of them pulled away.
Katsuki looked up at the brilliant colors reflecting across the open sky, the soft booms vibrating gently against his ribs. Beside him, Kirishima’s warm presence felt steady and grounding. Standing shoulder to shoulder in the flashing light, wrapped in quiet comfort and the gentle flutter of something new, Katsuki watched the night sky ignite, completely at peace.
The sky overhead burst into a sprawling canopy of shimmering gold and deep violet, casting a flickering, iridescent glow over the terrace. The roaring cheers of the crowd below faded into background noise, swallowed by the sudden, intense stillness between the two of them.
Kirishima shifted, his boots scuffing softly against the concrete. The brilliant flashes of light painted the crimson of his hair and the bright, embarrassed flush spreading across his face. He pulled his hands from the railing, letting his knuckles bump together nervously before he took a deep, steadying breath.
'Square your shoulders. Be a man.'
Kirishima turned to face Katsuki fully, his posture straightening with honest, determined resolve, even as the tips of his ears burned a bright, unmistakable red.
"Hey, Katsuki," Kirishima started, his voice cracking slightly before settling into a soft, steady cadence.
Katsuki looked over, tilting his head. The vibrant sparks reflecting in his wide red eyes made him look ethereal against the dark twilight. Sensing the sudden shift in the air, the faint sweetness of his burnt-caramel scent curled with quiet curiosity.
"What?" Kirishima rubbed the back of his neck with one hand, his gaze dipping down to Katsuki's boots for a split second before forcing his eyes back up, meeting Katsuki’s gaze dead-on with open, earnest courage.
"I was wondering... If maybe you'd want to hang out again sometime," Kirishima said, his words coming out in a rush of nervous heat. "Not just at UA with the whole class around, or with Aizawa-sensei supervising. Just... The two of us."
Katsuki blinked, his breath catching in his throat as the meaning settled in.
"Like... A date," Kirishima added firmly, his voice dropping an octave, steady and brave despite the frantic drumming in his chest. "I know your parents are super protective, and I know you don't like crowded places, but... There’s this quiet cafe near the edge of the district. They make this amazing spicy ramen, and it's practically empty on weekday afternoons." Kirishima offered a soft, lopsided grin, his sharp teeth showing just a little as his cheeks darkened. "I really like talking to you, Katsuki. And I’d really like the chance to take you out. If you'd let me."
Katsuki stared at him, completely frozen. A fierce, hot blush bloomed across his pale cheeks, rushing all the way down to his neck and disappearing beneath the thick shearling collar of his jacket. His heart hammered violently against his ribs, not with the sharp panic of captivity, but with a dizzying, breathless flutter that left him lightheaded.
No one had ever looked at him like this, not as a miraculous healing quirk, not as a broken victim, and not as a dangerous villain's ward. Kirishima was looking at him.
Katsuki pulled his hands out of his pockets, his fingers nervously curling into the hem of his dark sweater. He looked down at the concrete floor for a brief, overwhelmed second, biting his lower lip, before forcing his chin up with a sudden, proud spark.
"You're paying," Katsuki mumbled, his voice carrying a soft, defensive bite that failed completely to mask the shy tremor underneath.
Kirishima’s eyes went wide with sudden, hopeful light. "Wait–?! Seriously? You mean yes?!"
"I'm not repeating myself, hair-dye," Katsuki huffed, though a genuine, breathtaking smile broke across his flushed face, his sweet caramel scent blooming rich and radiant under the cool night sky. "And you better not be late. If you make me wait outside in the cold, I'm letting Dad turn your shoes to dust."
Kirishima let out a loud, breathless laugh, his whole face glowing with pure, uncontained joy as he clapped his hands together. "I won't be late! I swear on my life! I'll be there ten minutes early!"
Above them, the grand finale of the fireworks lit the night in a dazzling cascade of white and gold, and violet and red, bathing the two of them in brilliant light as they stood together on the terrace, their smiles mirroring each other in the warm glow of an entirely new beginning.
The grand finale of the fireworks faded into drifting trails of golden smoke, leaving the open sky dark and peaceful.
Down in the main courtyard, the students of Class 2-A began gathering their bags and festival gear. Katsuki walked with the group toward the campus gate where the private transport was waiting.
Eri clung tightly to his hand until the very last moment, giggling as Katsuki knelt to adjust her red scarf and press a soft kiss to her forehead.
"I'll visit again soon, squirt, be good." Katsuki promised, his voice gentle. "I will, promise!" Eri beamed, waving both mittens as Aizawa guided her back toward the dorm path.
Katsuki stood up, brushing off his dark jacket, and offered a confident wave to the rest of the class. "See you later, tape-elbows. Don't let your grades slip, four-eyes." Sero gave a two-fingered salute. "Safe travels, Katsuki-kun!" Iida barked, executing a crisp bow. "Take care, Katsuki!" Mina and Kaminari chimed in, grinning from the steps.
As Katsuki turned toward the waiting van, his eyes flicked sideways for just a fraction of a second. He caught Kirishima’s gaze through the crowd, ducking his chin slightly into his collar as a fresh, rosy tint dusted his cheeks. Kirishima gave a small, bashful wave, with an unmistakable, goofy grin.
Only Izuku, standing a few paces away with his hands in his pockets, caught the silent, shy exchange. The green-haired boy blinked in mild surprise, his emerald eyes widening before a knowing, fond smile spread across his freckled face. He kept quiet, simply offering Katsuki a warm, respectful nod of farewell.
The drive out to the forested outskirts was quiet and dark. By the time Katsuki slipped through the rear entrance of the secluded villa, the familiar, comforting blend of cool winter pine, dry smoke, and ozone greeted him like a warm blanket.
He kicked off his combat boots in the entryway, shedding his heavy shearling jacket and heading straight for the washroom. After a quick, hot shower that washed away the lingering festival dust, Katsuki changed into an oversized, worn crimson sweater and soft cotton trousers.
He padded silently down the dark hallway to the master den, sliding the heavy wooden panel open. The room was dimly lit by a small bedside lantern. In the center of the tatami mats, Touya and Tomura were already settled in the deep, scent-soaked hollow of the massive nest. Touya was propped up on one elbow against a stack of plush quilts, while Tomura sat beside him, leaning back against the wooden frame with half-lidded, exhausted eyes.
"Hey, brat," Touya murmured, his voice a low, welcoming hum as he lifted the edge of a thick faux-fur blanket. "Took you long enough. Was the underground rat hovering the whole time?"
"No," Katsuki mumbled softly, his sweet burnt-caramel scent blooming rich and contented as he crawled across the tatami into the warmth of the nest.
He settled directly into the safe hollow between his parents, resting his head against Touya’s chest while letting his legs tangle under the heavy fleece. Touya wrapped a protective arm around the boy's shoulders, smoothing his scarred, staple-free hand over Katsuki's messy blond hair, occasionally running his fingers through any knots.
Tomura let out a slow breath, resting four fingers gently on Katsuki’s back. Katsuki tucked his face against Touya's collarbone, staring at the woven threads of the quilt. His fingers fidgeted nervously with the hem of his sweater, his scent suddenly carrying a shy, sweet flutter that immediately caught both adults' attention.
"What is it, pup?" Touya asked, tilting his head with amused curiosity. "You're smelling like spun sugar." Katsuki bit his lower lip, the tips of his ears burning bright red in the dim lamplight.
"...Kirishima asked me out," Katsuki mumbled into Touya's chest, his voice barely louder than a whisper. "On... On a date. Next week. For spicy ramen." Touya froze mid-stroke over Katsuki's hair, his turquoise eyes snapping wide with sheer disbelief.
Tomura went completely motionless, the room dropping into dead, suffocating silence. For nearly two full minutes, Tomura didn't say a single word. His crimson eyes stared unblinkingly at the wall, his jaw set like stone, the low hum of his Alpha aura stiffening with profound, processing shock.
Katsuki shrank slightly under the heavy quiet, peeking nervously up from Touya’s shoulder.
Finally, Tomura let out a low, gravelly rasp, his voice dangerously flat. "The red-headed Alpha, with the teeth."
"Yeah," Katsuki squeaked softly. Tomura slowly looked down at Katsuki, his chapped lips pressing into a grim, dark line. "If he touches a single hair on your head without your say-so, or if he makes you cry for even half a second... I will find him, decay his bones into fine white dust, and scatter him across the Pacific Ocean."
"Tomura, stop threatening the high schoolers," Touya snorted, breaking into a low, breathless laugh that shook his chest beneath Katsuki's head. The older Omega's turquoise eyes sparkled with wicked amusement as he poked Katsuki's flushed cheek. "Look at you! Our fierce little pup as a boyfriend."
"H-He's not my boyfriend!" Katsuki groaned, his face burning like a furnace as he buried his head under the fleece, throwing his arms over his ears. "Shut up, Mama! It's just lunch!"
"Right, just lunch," Touya teased relentlessly, grinning as he tugged the blanket down to expose Katsuki's bright red face. "Should I help you pick out a cute jacket? Maybe brush your hair so you look extra pretty for the hero boy?
"I will bite you!" Katsuki threatened weakly, his voice muffled by the pillows. "You won't," Touya chuckled, pressing a firm, fond kiss to the top of Katsuki's head. Tomura let out a tired, exasperated grunt, but the stiff tension in his shoulders finally melted away.
He reached over, pulling the heavy quilt up over all three of them, resting his hand firmly over Katsuki’s back while Touya cradled the teenager securely against his chest.
"Go to sleep, brat," Tomura muttered, though the protective curve of his arm held no anger. "We'll interrogate you about your little date tomorrow." Katsuki pouted.
"Goodnight, Dad. Goodnight, Mama," Katsuki whispered, his chest heaving with a deep, peaceful sigh.
Surrounded by the deep layers of the nest, wrapped in the warm, unbroken safety of his pack, Katsuki closed his eyes and drifted off into a deep, dreamless sleep.
The next morning, the smell of burnt toast and simmering tea was completely overshadowed by the absolute chaos taking over the safehouse kitchen.
Katsuki sat hunched over the low dining table, clutching a ceramic bowl of rice like a shield, his face burning an intense magenta.
"A date?! Our little Katsuki is going on a real, romantic date with a cute hero boy?!" Toga shrieked, practically vibrating as she hung over the back of his chair, her golden eyes wild with uncontainable glee.
She aggressively poked both of Katsuki's flushed cheeks with her fingertips. "Is he dreamy? Does he have nice blood? Does he hold your hand? Oh, you have to let me do your hair! We need to make you look so pretty he passes out!"
"Get off me, psycho!" Katsuki snapped, ducking his head with an embarrassed growl, his sweet burnt-caramel scent spiking in frantic, flustered waves. "It's just lunch! We're just eating spicy noodles!"
Across the room, Spinner was doubled over against the kitchen counter, slapping his knee in breathless, wheezing laughter. "Man, this is priceless! The kid who can take down an enforcer squad and pinned my tail to the floorboards is getting taken out by a UA student with spiky red hair! Watch out, Katsuki, what if he brings you flowers?"
"Shut up, lizard... And be careful or you're going to trigger an early ecdysis if you keep laughing like that." Katsuki barked, his ears glowing bright red.
Spinner squawked, choking on his spit. "Where the hell did you learn such big words?!" Katsuki barked out a snort and chuckled, still red, "Internet." Spinner growled at the smart remark.
At the head of the table, Tomura set his mug down with a deliberate, echoing thud. The teasing instantly subsided as the League leader fixed Katsuki with a sharp, unblinking red gaze.
Tomura crossed his arms, his posture rigid with grim, protective authority. "What time is he picking you up?" Tomura rasped, his voice dropping into full interrogation mode. "Where is this noodle place? Does it have back exits? What's his quirk factor range? If he tries anything funny, do you have your knife in your boot?"
"Dad! Stop!" Katsuki groaned, burying his face in his hands. "He has a hardening quirk, the cafe is right on the edge of the neutral district near the station, and he’s not going to attack me! He’s just... Nice, okay?"
"Nice means nothing," Touya chimed in smoothly from the stove, flipping a pan of eggs with an infuriatingly smug grin curving his staple-free jawline. "Nice boys are the sneaky ones. But don't worry, pup. If he does anything stupid, Mama will turn his spiky hair into a campfire."
"I hate all of you," Katsuki muttered into his sweater sleeves, though the fond, protective rumble of pack pheromones filling the kitchen kept the embarrassment purely lighthearted.
By two o'clock in the afternoon on a Thursday the following week, Katsuki stood on the sunlit sidewalk near the quiet edge of the shopping district.
He had dressed with sharp, quiet care, a crisp black ribbed sweater beneath a tailored dark denim jacket, fitted black trousers, and his favorite clean combat boots. He pulled his hands from his pockets to adjust the silver zipper at his collar, his heart fluttering with sudden, nervous electricity as the bell above the train station exit chimed.
Kirishima came jogging down the stone steps, stopping dead in his tracks the second his eyes found Katsuki.
The red-haired boy was wearing a stylish crimson-and-black flannel over a dark shirt, his hair styled casually instead of its usual gelled spikes. Kirishima’s jaw dropped slightly, a brilliant, breathtaking blush rushing straight across his cheeks and the bridge of his nose.
"Whoa..." Kirishima breathed, his voice cracking slightly before he cleared his throat, offering a shy, bashful smile that showed just a hint of sharp teeth. "Hey, Katsuki. You... You look incredible. Seriously."
Katsuki ducked his chin into his jacket collar, feeling an answering heat prickle his own cheeks. But taking in Kirishima’s earnest, nervous expression, the lingering tension from the morning's interrogation melted away into a soft, genuine warmth.
"You're not late," Katsuki noted, a faint, pleased smirk tugging at his lips as his sweet caramel scent bloomed bright and calm in the afternoon breeze.
"Told you! Ten minutes early, on the dot," Kirishima beamed proudly, his posture relaxing as he stepped up beside him. He gestured down the quiet, tree-lined side street with an open hand. "The spicy ramen place is just down this block. Ready to eat?"
"Lead the way, hair-dye," Katsuki said softly.
Kirishima let out a fond, happy laugh, and as they fell into step side by side down the peaceful pavement, their shoulders brushed lightly in the sun, marking the easy, comfortable start to an afternoon entirely their own.
"So... Is your hair actually dyed?" Katsuki asked after they'd placed their orders. Kirishima chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, it was when I was in middle school though." He said.
"Really?" Katsuki tilted his head. "Yeah, before my moms and I moved back to our hometown, we stayed in a different prefecture 'cause of my ma's work. It was one of those towns where the more 'normal'," He rolled his eyes. "Quirks and, uhhhh... Genetic colourings...? Yeah, I'll go with that," He nodded, Katsuki giggled.
"They were very judgemental against bright colours y'know, and so I was bullied a lot for my hair so we dyed it black. Somehow it was better that a nine-year-old had dyed hair rather than natural hair." Katsuki smiled.
"So you grew it back out?" Kirishima nodded. "Yeah, though it wasnt completely grown out by the time I started at UA and short hair doesn't really suit me, so we just bleached it and dyed it red, maybe thats why you thought it was dyed?" Katsuki snorted.
"That's one reason, but I think the red suits you, gives you a personality." Kirishima smiled. "What was the other reason?" Katsuki laughed. "I've never in my life seen such red hair, and as much as the world has colourful hair, yours is the reddest red I've ever laid my eyes on. I mean, sure, Icy-Hot has red hair but I think it's a more muted colour."
"Thanks. That's actually so cool." Kirishima laughed, Katsuki blushed and looked down. "I'm still gonna call you hair-dye, though." Kirishima laughed, "That's fine by me." They continued to talk until their food arrived, both saying 'Itadakimasu' before digging in.
The evening air had settled into a cool stillness by the time Katsuki stepped through the sliding back doors of the villa. The sweet, rich scent of burnt caramel practically floated off him, tinged with the faint, lingering warmth of spicy broth and the grounding scent of sun-baked cedar from the afternoon.
The second the wooden latch clicked, a high-pitched gasp tore through the hallway. Toga materialized out of the kitchen entryway like a bloodhound on a fresh trail, her golden eyes wide and predatory as she skidded across the polished floorboards. She threw her arms out, blocking his path with an ecstatic grin.
"You're back! You'rebackyou're backyou'reback!!" Toga squealed, practically sticking her nose right into the crook of Katsuki's neck to catch his scent before he could swat her away. "Tell me everything! Did you hold hands? Did he feed you noodles? Did his face turn as red as his hair?! Did he try to kiss you under the train station lights?!"
"Get your nose out of my collar, psycho!" Katsuki barked, his face instantly erupting into a violent scarlet blush as he shoved her back by her forehead. "We just ate food and walked around the park! That's it!"
Tomura strode into the hall from the living room, hands buried deep in the pockets of his dark trousers. He stopped a few paces away, his sharp crimson eyes raking over Katsuki with analytical precision.
He took in the boy's flushed cheeks, the relaxed set of his shoulders, and the completely unblemished, content aura radiating from him.
A dry, scratchy chuckle scraped past Tomura’s throat, a rare, thoroughly amused sound. "Look at you," Tomura said, a teasing smirk tugging at the corners of his chapped lips. "You survived a full afternoon with a hero student without stabbing him once. I guess the red-haired brat passed the first round." Tomura crossed his arms, his posture loose as he tilted his head with mock solemnity.
"Fine. As the head of the pack, I officially grant my gracious permission for the courting process to proceed. But tell him if he wants to bring you nesting gifts, they better meet my standards."
"Dad, stop it! It was just one lunch!" Katsuki groaned loudly, dragging his palms down his burning face while Toga clapped and cheered in the background.
Before the laughter could peak, a sharp, sudden clatter echoed from the adjoining sitting room.
The low volume on the small television monitor had been clicked up, broadcasting an emergency evening bulletin from Musutafu.
The screen flickered with vivid, roaring orange flames, Endeavor was standing before a massive wall of flashing press cameras after subduing a high-ranking villain cell, his towering frame ablaze, his deep, thunderous voice demanding absolute compliance and order across the metropolitan districts.
Standing frozen in the center of the tatami room was Touya. The older Omega's hands were locked into tight, white-knuckled fists, his breath coming in shallow, ragged hitches. The scent of sweet winter pine violently curdled into bitter, suffocating smoke and scorching ozone.
Even without the metal staples tearing at his flesh, Touya's rough, scarred skin pulled taut across his jaw where it met smooth skin, his turquoise eyes blown wide with a sudden, suffocating wave of remembered terror and venomous fury.
The towering giant on the screen seemed to pull the air right out of Touya's lungs, dragging him straight back to the blistering training rooms of his childhood.
Tomura’s expression shifted instantly, stepping forward with sharp concern, but Katsuki was faster. Katsuki slipped past them into the room, his boots dropping silently in the genkan..
He didn't hesitate, walking straight up to Touya and stepping directly into the older Omega's trembling space. "Mama," Katsuki murmured softly. Touya flinched, his head jerking down, his eyes wild and unanchored for a fractured second.
Katsuki reached up, placing his warm, steady hands flat against Touya’s jawline, resting his thumbs right over the soft, almost iridescent-like purple scars on his cheeks.
Katsuki pushed his own pheromones forward in a steady, concentrated wave, rich, sweet, unburdened caramel, completely wrapping around Touya’s frantic senses.
"Look at me, Mama," Katsuki said, his voice dropping into a gentle, unshakeable rhythm. "He’s on a screen. He's far away. He doesn't know where we are, and he's never touching you again. You're home. You're in our den."
Touya’s chest heaved with a sharp, shuddering breath. The suffocating heat rolling off his skin slowly subsided as he looked down into Katsuki’s clear, resolute red eyes. The phantom smell of scorched flesh was entirely swallowed by the boy's soothing sweetness.
Slowly, the tension coiled in Touya’s spine cracked. He let out a long, trembling exhale, leaning his forehead down against Katsuki’s shoulder and burying his face in the boy's dark sweater, his hands coming up to grip Katsuki's back like a lifeline.
"I've got you, Mama," Katsuki whispered, gently stroking the back of Touya's hair, the white slowly growing out, steadying his breathing. "We're safe. We're all right here."
Behind them, Tomura stepped quietly to the television console, pressing a finger against the power switch and shutting the screen to pitch black. Coming up behind his mate, Tomura placed a broad, grounding hand between Touya’s shoulder blades, letting his deep Alpha presence lock over both of them.
Held securely between his pup and his mate, Touya’s breathing gradually evened out, the bitter smoke clearing from the room as the deep, unbroken quiet of their sanctuary returned.
The glow of Katsuki’s burner phone illuminated the dim corner of the villa's sunroom. Curled under an oversized knit throw, he tapped his thumbs across the screen, his sweet caramel scent fluttering with quiet amusement at every incoming buzz.
Kirishima
man that extra spicy oil you dared me to add nearly took out my throat halfway through 😭 worth it though!!
Told you your tolerance is weak. Next time order the kid’s broth if you can’t handle a little chili.
never! red riot never backs down from a pepper!! 🔥
hey so… there’s this lantern street festival in my hometown this weekend. lots of grilled street food and wooden crafts, and it’s way smaller and quieter than UA’s stuff.
would you wanna go with me? i’d really like to show you around. no pressure if your pack says no though!!
Katsuki’s thumbs froze over the keypad. A bright, warm flush bloomed across his cheeks, rushing straight to the tips of his ears. Staring at the glowing invitation, his heart did a sudden, dizzying flip.
Slipping the phone into his pocket, Katsuki threw off the blanket, padded silently down the timber hallway, and slid open the door to the strategy den.
Tomura was seated at the low oak desk beneath the dim pendant lamp, methodically reviewing supply manifests. He looked up the second the floorboards creaked, his sharp crimson eyes tracking the boy’s hurried steps.
"Dad," Katsuki started, shifting his weight between his socks, his hands fidgeting inside the oversized sleeves of his sweater. "I... I need to ask you something."
Tomura set down his pen with a quiet clatter, leaning back against the low chair. The air in the room settled into a calm, attentive hum. "Speak, brat."
"Kirishima asked if I'd go to a lantern festival with him this weekend," Katsuki said, forcing his voice to stay steady despite the nervous heat rising in his neck. "In his hometown. Just for the evening."
Tomura didn't immediately scowl or snap. His crimson gaze narrowed slightly as he analyzed Katsuki’s posture, shifting into practical, protective scrutiny.
"Where is his hometown?" Tomura asked, his voice low and deliberate.
"Chiba prefecture, on the coastal side," Katsuki answered promptly. "Small suburban district. Not a hero hub."
"Transit routes?" He continued. "Two regional train lines, direct transfer. I can be back at the mountain station before nine."
"Who else is going to be there?" Tomura pressed, his fingers tapping the desk in a steady, measured rhythm. "Are any of his UA classmates tagging along? Pro hero escorts?"
"No," Katsuki shook his head firmly. "Just him. He said it’s a local neighborhood thing, mostly families and food stalls. No hero patrols besides the regular local station beat."
Tomura went quiet for a few beats, his eyes tracing the stubborn, earnest light in Katsuki’s red eyes. The Alpha exhaled a slow, raspy breath through his nose, his shoulders dropping a fraction of an inch.
"You take your burner phone and check in every hour, on the dot," Tomura commanded, his tone leaving zero room for debate. "You keep your utility blade strapped inside your right boot. If anything feels off, if a single hero or agency scout looks at you sideways, you drop a pin and walk straight to the train. Understood?"
Katsuki’s face lit up, a wide, breathtaking grin breaking across his face. "Understood! Thank you, Dad!" Katsuki beamed, rushing forward to give Tomura a quick, impulsive hug around his shoulders before darting back toward the hallway to text his answer.
Tomura let out a dry, exasperated huff, though a rare, faint smirk touched the corner of his chapped lips as he watched their pup sprint down the corridor.
Katsuki scrambled back onto the cushioned futon in the sunroom, practically diving under the heavy knit throw as he snatched his phone with trembling, eager thumbs. His heart hammered in a wild, giddy rhythm against his ribs.
Kirishima
Dad said yes. Two trains down to Chiba on Saturday. You better know where the best food stalls are or I’m turning around at the station.
WAIT FOR REAL??!?! 😭✨
MAN YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HYPED I AM!! I know every single cart on the boardwalk! They have these glazed chestnut cakes you’re gonna love, I swear!!
I’ll meet you right at the Chiba South ticket gates at five! I’m paying for everything, non-negotiable! 😤🔥
You’re an idiot, hair-dye. Don’t be late.
Katsuki pressed the phone flat against his chest, biting back a breathless, uncontrollable grin as the tips of his ears burned a radiant pink under the dim sunroom lamps.
Meanwhile, back in the strategy room, Tomura capped his fountain pen, pushed the supply ledgers aside, and stepped out into the quiet corridor. The timber floorboards barely whispered beneath his bare feet as he walked toward the master den, sliding the wooden panel open just enough to slip inside.
The master bedroom was warm, thick with the rich, grounding aroma of winter pine, sweet smoke, and lingering lavender oil. Touya was curled in the center of the deep nest, propped against a mound of dark velvet pillows, reading through a paper volume by the amber glow of a low lantern. His pale, unstapled cheek was smooth in the soft light, the lingering tension from seeing Endeavor on the news hours earlier completely washed away.
Touya glanced up, his turquoise eyes tracking his mate as Tomura shed his dark cardigan and sank onto the edge of the futon. "What was the brat buzzing about in the hall?" Touya asked, closing the book over his thumb with an amused, lazy drawl. "He smelled like he was about to combust from pure sugar."
"The red-haired hero student," Tomura said, rolling his shoulders as he leaned back against the headboard, four fingers casually trailing over the edge of the quilt while his pinky hooked safely upward. "Invited Katsuki to a lantern festival in his hometown this weekend."
Touya’s eyebrows shot up. A low, raspy chuckle scraped through his chest, his lips curving into a sharp, fond smirk. "And you didn't decay his phone into ash on the spot?"
"I ran him through the logistics," Tomura grunted, though a subtle, protective rumble vibrated deep in his chest. "Chiba coast. Small residential district, zero pro agencies running active patrols. Direct transfer lines. I told him he checks in every hour and keeps a blade in his boot."
Touya shook his head, leaning forward to rest his chin against Tomura’s shoulder, letting his cool pine scent wash comfortably over the Alpha. "Look at you. Setting curfews and tactical routes like a real Dad."
"Somebody has to make sure he doesn't let his guard down around flashy UA brats," Tomura muttered, though his arm came up instinctively, wrapping securely around Touya’s waist and pulling the older Omega flush against his side.
"The red-head is an Alpha. If he tries to crowd the pup's space or step out of line, Katsuki knows how to sweep his legs. And if that fails, I’ll take a warp gate to Chiba myself."
"Katsuki won't let anyone push him around," Touya said softly, his fingers threading into Tomura’s messy, pale hair. "He’s stronger than he looks. But... I’m glad you're letting him go. He deserves to see the lanterns."
"Yeah," Tomura murmured, closing his eyes as he pulled Touya deeper into the warmth of their nest. "He does."
The sudden buzz of Katsuki’s phone broke the quiet rhythm of Saturday morning. Curled on the sunroom cushions with his bag already packed with all the necessary things he'd need by the door, Katsuki tapped open the message, only for his chest to drop.
Kirishima
Katsuki, I am so, so sorry 😭 A rogue villain cell just attacked the regional junction outside Chiba station. The tracks got warped, and the whole coastal line is shut down until tomorrow night.
The local district canceled the festival entirely because of the emergency perimeter. I feel terrible, man. I was so excited to show you around and get those chestnut cakes. I’m so sorry.
Katsuki stared at the screen, a quiet pang of disappointment dulling the bright sweet-caramel warmth around him. He took a slow breath, slipping the phone into his pocket, and walked down the hall to the open kitchen where Touya was slicing fresh fruit and Tomura was leaning over a kettle of boiling water.
"Train line got blown out by some rogue gang near Chiba," Katsuki mumbled, leaning his hip against the counter with his arms crossed over his dark sweater. "Festival is canceled. Whole sector is closed off."
Touya paused, knife poised over an apple, while Tomura turned with a mug in hand. Both adults took in Katsuki’s slightly slumped shoulders and the faint, deflated dip in his scent.
Touya looked over at Tomura. A silent, wordless communication passed between them, an unspoken shift of boundaries they hadn't considered before. Touya gave a small, almost imperceptible nod.
Tomura set his mug down, his crimson eyes flicking back to the teenager. "Tell him to come here," Tomura said, his voice level and raspy.
Katsuki’s head snapped up, his red eyes wide with sheer shock. "Wait– here? To the villa?!"
"If he can get official clearance from that underground rat at UA to leave campus grounds for the afternoon, he can take the northern mountain line to our drop point," Touya added, his turquoise eyes sparkling with fond amusement as he tossed a slice of apple onto a small plate.
"We have food, we have a courtyard, and nobody is blowing up the tracks out here." Katsuki didn't wait. He instantly dialed Aizawa’s private line.
After a brief, tense pause on the other end where Aizawa grilled him on safety parameters and confirmed the League’s exact non-hostile status for the day, the underground hero let out a long, gravelly sigh through the speaker. "Kirishima has permission for an off-campus day pass under my authorization. He takes the northern line. Curfew is eight sharp. Don't cause trouble."
By one in the afternoon, the front gate chime echoed softly through the quiet woods.
Katsuki practically bolted down the timber hallway, throwing open the sliding front entrance.
Standing on the stone landing was Kirishima, wearing dark jeans, sturdy boots, and a heavy crimson jacket. In his hands was a big bakery box from a premium shop near Musutafu and a large, neatly folded blanket made of ultra-thick, un-dyed wool.
"Hey!" Kirishima beamed, his sharp-toothed smile bright and earnest despite a nervous blush dusting his cheeks. "Brought pastries, and... Um, I saw this wool throw in town. Thought it might be good for a nest."
Before Katsuki could stammer a reply, a heavy, silent presence materialized behind him in the foyer. Tomura stepped into the doorway, towering and lean in a high-collared dark shirt, his crimson eyes narrowing into sharp, unblinking focus. Beside him, Touya leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, the pale, staple-free scars along his jaw catching the afternoon light.
Kirishima didn't flinch or reach for a defensive stance. Instead, he straightened his posture, bowed respectfully from the waist, and looked right into the League leader's eyes with steady, unshakeable courage.
"Afternoon, Shigaraki-san, Todoroki-san. Thank you for having me," Kirishima said clearly, his voice steady. Tomura’s jaw set. The Alpha stepped forward, his tone dropping into a dry, gravelly interrogation. "You took the northern transit? Any tails?"
"None," Kirishima answered immediately. "Transferred twice, checked the platforms, walked the tree line path from the third marker just like Katsuki texted."
"You know your curfew?" Tomura pressed, crossing his arms. "Eight o'clock sharp. I have an alarm set for six-fifty to get to the station on time."
"And if you drop crumbs on the tatami?" Kirishima didn't miss a beat, grinning with open, good-natured confidence. "Then Katsuki sweeps my legs and throws me in the dirt."
Touya snorted, a low, genuine laugh escaping his chest as he shook his head. "I like this one."
Tomura stared at the red-haired student for two more seconds before the stiff line of his shoulders relaxed into an amused, scratchy huff. "Wipe your boots. Come inside before the tea gets cold."
Kirishima smiled brightly, stepping over the threshold into the warm, scented sanctuary of the den, with Katsuki leading the way, his face burning pink and his sweet caramel scent blooming in pure, triumphant relief.
Stepping into the common living room, Kirishima was immediately met with the full, chaotic curiosity of the League.
Toga practically vaulted over the back of the low sofa, skidding to a halt right in front of Kirishima with wide, golden eyes. She circled him like an excited puppy, marveling at his spiky red hair and bright flannel while Compress adjusted his mask with a polite, theatrical bow. Spinner raised a hand from the floor mats with a smirk, chuckling at the sight of a UA student standing stiff as a board in their living room, while Twice rapidly declared that the guest looked remarkably sturdy before shouting that he was definitely going to get eaten alive.
Kirishima handled the barrage with impressive composure, bowing respectfully, setting the bakery box on the table, and laughing through the absurdity with genuine, sharp-toothed charm.
Before Toga could ask to braid his hair or inspect his knuckles, Katsuki grabbed Kirishima by the sleeve of his jacket and dragged him down the quiet side corridor toward his private quarters.
"Ignore them," Katsuki muttered, his cheeks flushed pink as he slid his bedroom door open. "They have zero boundaries." Kirishima stepped inside, and his breath hitched in quiet awe.
The room was softly lit, peaceful, and dominated by a massive, impeccably constructed nest. Layered with deep fleece, weighted quilts, and plush cushions, it was thoroughly infused with Katsuki’s sweet, contented caramel scent. Pinned neatly to the wall above the headboard was Eri’s drawing of the smiling figures and the red apple, right beside the neatly folded note from Eraserhead, as well as the receipt from their date and the entry ticket to the Sports Festival along with the wristband for the cultural festival pinned beneath it.
Katsuki took the thick, un-dyed wool blanket Kirishima had brought, carefully unfolding it and draping it across the inner rim where his head rested, smoothing the fibers with meticulous care. He looked back over his shoulder, his red eyes soft and slightly shy.
"Get in," Katsuki mumbled, kicking off his socks and crawling into the center of the plush hollow. "If you're going to sit on the floor, you're wasting the wool." Kirishima smiled warmly, shedding his heavy jacket and carefully climbing into the nest. Katsuki didn't pull away; instead, he settled comfortably against Kirishima’s sturdy chest, curling his legs up into the blankets.
Kirishima wrapped a strong, gentle arm around Katsuki’s waist, letting the grounded warmth of sun-baked cedar wash over the space. The steady rhythm of their breathing and the deep comfort of the nest worked like a natural sedative, and within minutes, the soft hum of conversation faded into quiet, peaceful slumber.
A couple of hours later, the wooden door panel slid open a mere crack. Tomura and Touya stood in the dim hall, peering inside. Katsuki was fast asleep, his face tucked securely against the crook of Kirishima’s neck, one hand loosely clutching the red-haired boy’s shirt, completely at ease.
Kirishima had his chin resting gently on Katsuki’s blond crown, one arm draped protectively across the blankets. Tomura crossed his arms, letting out a low, quiet grunt, a grudging, silent concession that the UA boy knew how to keep their pup safe.
Touya’s turquoise eyes sparkled with wicked amusement. Slipping his phone from his pocket, Touya leaned in and snapped a crisp, silent photograph of the pair napping soundly in the nest.
With a few quick taps of his thumbs, Touya sent the image straight to Aizawa’s private number, accompanied by a single, smug line of text:
Undergound-Sensei
One of your top students is officially trapped in our nest. Might not get him back by eight.
Curfew is eight sharp. If he is one minute late, I am assigning him three weeks of ground duty. Ensure he catches the 7:18 mountain connection.
The reply from Aizawa came less than three minutes later, lighting up Touya’s screen with dry, unamused efficiency. Touya let out a breathy, silent laugh, tucking the phone back into his pocket and sliding the bedroom door shut with barely a click.
Inside the dim room, the gentle vibration of Kirishima’s phone alarm on the low nightstand finally broke the heavy stillness. The screen glowed softly with the time: 18:50.
Kirishima stirred first, blinking against the ambient twilight filtering through the paper screen windows. The warmth around him was heavy and intoxicating, the soft, thick layers of fleece, the scent of fresh wool, and the steady, comforting weight of Katsuki curled against his ribs.
Katsuki let out a soft, disgruntled whine at the movement, his fingers tightening in the fabric of Kirishima’s shirt as he buried his face deeper into the red-haired boy’s collarbone.
"Hey," Kirishima whispered softly, his voice gravelly with sleep. He gently smoothed a hand over Katsuki’s messy blond hair, his heart swelling at how completely relaxed the usually sharp teenager looked. "Katsuki, wake up. The alarm went off."
Katsuki blinked his eyes open, groggy and disoriented for a second before the realization of where he was, and who he was wrapped around, hit him. A fierce, pretty blush rushed across his cheeks, but he didn't pull away in a panic. He simply let out a long, quiet sigh, stretching his arms over his head before sitting up in the middle of the nest.
"What time is it?" Katsuki mumbled, rubbing his eyes with the heel of his palm.
"Ten to seven," Kirishima said, reluctantly untangling his legs from the blankets and swinging his feet onto the floor mats. "I've gotta head down to the station soon or Aizawa-sensei is going to lock the dorm gates on me."
Katsuki slipped out of the nest, pulling on a warm pair of socks and reaching for Kirishima’s heavy crimson jacket from the low chair. He handed it over, his sweet burnt-caramel scent soft and slightly reluctant to let the evening end. "Don't trip on the mountain path. It gets dark fast around the bend."
"I've got night vision, remember? Hero training," Kirishima teased, zipping the jacket up and offering a bright, sharp-toothed grin that reached his eyes.
When they stepped out into the hallway, the kitchen was quiet and warm. A small bento box wrapped in neat dark cloth sat waiting on the counter beside the entryway, packed with fresh onigiri and leftover sliced roast pork from dinner.
Tomura stood near the porch, leaning against the timber pillar with his arms crossed, watching them approach with sharp, analytical red eyes. Touya was sitting casually on the steps, tossing a pair of heavy outdoor boots onto the dirt path.
"Eat the rice on the train," Tomura rasped, nodding toward the bento box. "Don't let the UA guards see the wrapping pattern." Kirishima blinked in genuine surprise, picking up the warm container with both hands and bowing deeply. "Thank you, Shigaraki-san. Really. For letting me visit, and for the food."
Tomura waved a dismissive hand, though the lingering Alpha presence around the foyer was steady and calm. "Seven-eighteen train. Don't miss it."
Touya stood up, stepping over to the rack to grab Katsuki’s dark coat, tossing it over the teenager's shoulders. "Walk him to the first lantern marker, pup. Mama and Dad will watch from the porch."
Katsuki slipped his boots on, his cheeks dusted pink, and stepped down onto the stone path beside Kirishima. The mountain air was crisp and cool, filled with the scent of pine needles and damp earth under a clear canopy of stars.
They walked side by side in comfortable silence until they reached the low wooden post that marked the safehouse's outer perimeter.
Kirishima turned, adjusting the strap of his bag. The shy, earnest warmth from the festival terrace returned, painting the tips of his ears a bright red under the starlight.
"I had a really great time today, Katsuki, even though we slept for most of it," Kirishima said softly, his voice full of genuine affection. "The nest was... It was amazing. Thanks for letting me into your space."
Katsuki looked up at him, ducking his chin into his collar, but his red eyes were bright and steady. He reached out, his fingers lightly catching the edge of Kirishima’s sleeve, pulling him down just a fraction.
Standing on his toes, Katsuki pressed a quick, feather-light kiss to Kirishima’s cheek, right over the small scar beneath his eye. Kirishima froze, his crimson eyes blowing wide, his entire face flushing the exact color of his hair.
"Thanks for the blanket," Katsuki murmured, his voice soft but clear as he stepped back with a cocky, breathtaking smile. "Text me when you're through the gates, hair-dye."
Kirishima let out a breathless, stunned laugh, bringing a hand up to touch his burning cheek as a wide, radiant grin spread across his face. "I will! I'll text you the second I'm in my room! See you soon, Katsuki!"
Katsuki watched him jog down the path toward the station lights, his heart hammering in a light, dizzying flutter. Turning back toward the porch where Touya and Tomura stood waiting in the warm lantern glow of their home, Katsuki walked back up the steps, knowing that every boundary he had reclaimed was entirely his own.
The scent of fresh, un-dyed wool and sun-baked cedar clung to the fibers of the blankets, creating a dense pocket of absolute security. Katsuki burrowed deep into the center of the hollow, pulling the heavy rim of quilts up over his ears.
For the first time in as long as he could remember, sleep was not a shallow, watchful drift, but a total, unbroken descent into quiet warmth. No clinical hums, no phantom footsteps, just the steady, rhythmic settling of his own breath.
Morning arrived with the clean, sharp cut of autumn mountain light slicing through the sliding screen panels. Katsuki woke slowly, uncoiling from the nest with a long, satisfying stretch that pulled at his back muscles. The villa was already stirring; the low thrum of the radio hummed in the distant kitchen, paired with the sharp sizzle of grease on iron.
He washed his face with cold water, shook the lingering sleep from his blond spikes, and pulled on a dark athletic tank and heavy black sweatpants, winding stiff canvas wraps tightly around his knuckles and wrists.
Out in the dirt courtyard, the frost was still melting off the pine needles. Tomura was already waiting on the packed earth, dressed in faded grey sweatpants and a sleeveless shirt that showed the lean, corded muscles of his arms. His hands were loose at his sides, both pinkies cocked upright out of reflex, though the relaxed set of his posture carried the calm authority of an Alpha ready to work.
"You're five minutes late, brat," Tomura grunted, not bothering to look up from adjusting his balance. "Got too comfortable in your blankets?"
"Shut up, old man," Katsuki smirked, dropping his center of gravity into a low, coiled stance ten paces away. "Just giving you extra time to stretch so you don't throw your hip out."
"Big talk for someone whose center line is wide open," Tomura rasped. He didn't wait. Tomura closed the distance with terrifying, silent speed, lunging forward with a sweeping palm strike aimed straight for Katsuki’s shoulder. Katsuki pivoted on the ball of his back foot, ducking beneath the reach with sharp, feline instinct, and drove a vicious elbow counter into Tomura’s ribs.
Tomura caught the blow against his forearm, the impact kicking up a small cloud of red dust.
"Better. But your left foot is trailing. Fix it." Katsuki snarled softly, his red eyes blazing with focused, competitive heat. He reset instantly, feinting a high cross to draw Tomura’s guard upward before sliding his lead boot behind Tomura’s heel, shifting his entire body weight into a sharp, decisive sweep.
Tomura twisted in mid-air, avoiding the dirt with a clean back-roll, coming up with a raspy chuckle that broke through the crisp morning air. "Not bad. Try it again."
Up on the timber veranda, Touya leaned against the railing with a steaming mug between his scarred hands, the sweet scent of dry smoke and winter pine drifting down into the yard as he watched the pair trade fast, rhythmic strikes in the morning sun.
The small television in the corner of the open living room hummed with mid-afternoon static, the volume kept low while the rest of the safehouse drifted through a quiet, lazy routine.
Katsuki was sitting cross-legged on the tatami mats near the low table, a roll of fresh athletic tape between his knees as he carefully rewound the edges of his practice grips. The smell of roasted barley tea lingered in the air, mixed with the faint sweetness of his own scent and the dry, grounding presence of pine from the open veranda doors.
Touya was sprawled nearby on a stack of floor cushions, eyes half-closed, flipping through a dog-eared paperback while Tomura worked quietly on a tablet at the far end of the room.
The sudden, piercing chime of an emergency news broadcast cut straight through the calm.
The screen flickered, flashing bold crimson banners across the lower third of the display.
BREAKING NEWS: MAXIMUM-SECURITY TRANSPORT BREACH!! TARTARUS TRANSFER UNIT COMPROMISED!!
The newscaster’s voice was clipped, rapid, and strained with barely contained panic.
“...authorities are issuing an immediate high-priority alert across all prefectures following an ambush on the specialized armoured convoy en route to Tartarus. The primary target of the transport, former Shie Hassaikai leader, Chisaki Kai, has escaped custody with the aid of an unaligned mercenary faction. Pro Heroes and national tactical units have cordoned off the coastal expressway, but the suspect’s current whereabouts remain completely unknown...”
A high-resolution booking photograph of Chisaki flashed onto the screen, the sharp, golden eyes, the cold, clinical mask, the pristine dark hair.
The roll of athletic tape slipped from Katsuki’s fingers. It hit the tatami with a hollow, muted thump, rolling a few inches before coming to a stop against the base of the table.
The air in the room died. Katsuki’s breath hitched, snagging violently in his chest like a rusty hook. The sound of the newscaster’s voice warped, stretching and distorting until it was replaced by the phantom hum of fluorescent operating lights, the sharp clink of steel scalpels on porcelain trays, and the sterile, suffocating smell of bleach and iron.
“You belong on the table, Katsuki.”
A violent shiver racked down Katsuki’s spine. His pupils dilated into pinpricks, his sweet burnt-caramel scent instantly spoiling, curdling into the sharp, metallic tang of raw, suffocating terror. His hands flew up to clutch the collar of his shirt, his knuckles turning stark white as his chest heaved in frantic, shallow gasps, trying and failing to pull in air.
Before the panic could pull him under, a heavy shadow fell across the tatami. The television screen violently cracked, five fingers pressing into the plastic casing before the entire monitor dissolved into a silent, crumbling pile of grey ash and severed wire.
Tomura stepped back from the disintegrated wreckage, his crimson eyes burning with a cold, terrifying fury. The Alpha’s pheromones erupted into the room, not with hostility toward the frightened Omega, but with a massive, crushing wave of lethal, territorial dominance that immediately smothered the creeping terror in the air.
"He's not touching you," Tomura’s voice tore through the room, a low, guttural rasp that cut through the ringing in Katsuki’s ears like an iron blade.
Beside him, Touya was already moving. He dropped his book, closing the distance in a single, fluid slide, his long arms wrapping tightly around Katsuki’s trembling frame. Touya pulled the teenager flush against his chest, tucking Katsuki’s blond head firmly under his jaw, flooding the boy's senses with the rich, unyielding warmth of winter pine and scorched cedar.
"Breathe, pup. Breathe with Mama," Touya murmured fiercely into Katsuki's hair, his hands pressing flat and steady against the boy’s shaking back. "Look at the floor. You're in our den. He's outside, he has no army, and he doesn't know where the hell we are."
Katsuki buried his face into the fabric of Touya's sweater, his fingers digging into the wool as a ragged, choked gasp escaped his throat. "He's... He's out. Mama, he's out..."
"Let him be out," Tomura growled, stepping up and dropping down onto one knee beside them. He placed a broad, heavy hand flat between Katsuki’s shoulder blades, keeping his pinky finger strictly lifted, his Alpha aura locking around them like an impenetrable fortress.
"If he ever crawls close enough to sniff this mountain, I won't just take his quirk, I'll reduce every cell of his body to dust while he watches."
Surrounded by the solid, unmoving walls of his pack, the phantom smell of the operating room slowly receded, leaving Katsuki anchored in the deep, protective shelter of his home.
The late-afternoon broadcast of the Hero Billboard Chart JP was playing across the country, but in the safehouse, the atmosphere was dense and stifling.
In the secluded master den, Touya sat rigid on the edge of the low table, his turquoise eyes fixed on the small tablet propped against a stack of ledgers. On the screen, Endeavor had just taken the stage as the newly crowned Number One Hero, towering in a blaze of furious crimson flame beside the new Number Two, Hawks.
Suddenly, the broadcast violently shifted. A specialized High-End Nomu descended from the sky over Kyushu, tearing through the concrete skyscraper where Endeavor and Hawks were stationed. The screen erupted in terrifying chaos, a jet-black, muscular monstrosity with jet thrusters and regenerating tissue driving the new Number One through shattered glass and collapsing girders.
Touya’s knuckles turned bone-white against his knees. His breath grew jagged, the scent of sweet winter pine burning away into acrid, bitter smoke as he watched his biological father get hurled through concrete pillars, blood spraying from the side of the towering man's face. The scars across Touya's jaw pulled tight, his pulse hammering with a violent, suffocating mix of ancient fury, terror, and twisted grief.
A heavy hand came down over Touya’s shoulder.
Tomura stepped up behind him, leaning down and resting his chin near the older Omega’s temple. Tomura didn't tell him to look away. He simply let his deep, grounding alpha scent lock around Touya like an impenetrable shield, keeping his pinky hooked safely in the air as his broad palm anchored Touya to the floor mats.
"He's tough to kill," Tomura rasped low into Touya’s ear, his voice flat, steady, and unshakeable. "Don't let the old bastard take your breath away. You're here."
Touya leaned his head back against Tomura’s chest, exhaling a long, trembling shudder, his fingers loosening as the screen flared with Endeavor’s blinding 'Prominence Burn' rising into the high atmosphere.
At that exact moment, the common room of the Class 2-A dorms was engulfed in deafening panic.
Students were on their feet, gasping and clutching the backs of sofas as the camera zoomed in on Endeavor standing battered, one eye torn open, raising a single blazing fist in the sky.
Standing near the center of the room, Shouto had gone completely pale. His mismatched eyes were wide and unblinking, his hands trembling violently at his sides, his breath catching in his throat as the phantom weight of his entire childhood seemed to buckle beneath the sight of his father nearly being torn apart on live television.
Katsuki, who had been visiting Eri for the afternoon, immediately stepped forward.
Ignoring the gasping crowd around them, Katsuki crossed the hardwood floor and stepped directly into Shouto’s space. He didn't offer empty platitudes or flashy hero slogans. Katsuki reached up, placing a firm, warm hand squarely on Shouto’s shoulder, giving it an unyielding squeeze that forced the younger boy’s unfocused gaze down to meet his own.
Katsuki pushed his sweet burnt-caramel scent forward in a calm, soothing wave, the exact grounding warmth Touya had taught him to rely on.
"Look at me, half-n-half," Katsuki ordered, his voice low, firm, and steady. "He's still standing. The fight is over. Breathe."
Shouto let out a sharp, ragged gasp, his shoulders dropping as the biological comfort of an omega's scent cut through the ringing panic in his ears. He looked at Katsuki, swallowing hard, and gave a slow, shaky nod.
"Yeah..." Shouto whispered, the tremor in his fingers gradually stilling beneath Katsuki’s solid grip. "He's... He's standing."
"Good," Katsuki said quietly, patting his shoulder once more before stepping back to give him space. "Now sit down before you pass out on the rug."
A month drifted by, the crisp chill of winter settling deeply over the prefecture. Out at the vast Ground Gamma training complex, the atmosphere was electric. The joint combat training between Class 2-A and Class 2-B had officially begun. Concrete pipes, metal girders, and industrial scaffolding stretched across the artificial city zone as both classes stood assembled in their full hero gear.
Up on the observation balcony, Katsuki leaned his forearms against the safety railing, dressed in his dark winter coat and heavy combat boots. Beside him, Aizawa kept watch with his hands in his pockets, while Vlad King reviewed the match brackets on a clipboard.
Down below, the horn sounded to open the field, and the first skirmishes exploded into motion.
Katsuki’s sharp red eyes tracked every movement across the industrial labyrinth, Kirishima leading the charge with hardened fists, Midoriya darting through the high pipes with crackling green lightning, and Sero coordinating aerial traps. A fierce, competitive grin spread across Katsuki’s face as the explosions and quirks clashing echoed across the terrain, watching the people who had welcomed him into the light fight for their ground with everything they had.
As the days passed, the deep winter frost had begun to soften around the edges of the mountain villa. Patches of pale earth showed through the receding snow in the courtyard, and the pine needles smelled sharp and clean in the warming afternoon sun.
When the front gate bell chimed this time, there was none of the frantic scrambling from months before. Katsuki slid the heavy front door open, wearing an oversized dark knit sweater and flannel trousers. Standing on the stone threshold was Kirishima, grinning from ear to ear, his cheeks flushed from the mountain climb. Over his shoulder hung a sturdy duffel bag, and tucked under one arm was a bakery box tied with bright yellow ribbon.
"Hey," Kirishima said softly, his crimson eyes lighting up the moment they met Katsuki's.
"You brought too much stuff, hair-dye," Katsuki huffed, though the tips of his ears immediately turned pink, his sweet burnt-caramel scent blooming into the entryway with welcoming warmth. He stepped aside, letting the red-haired boy in. "Take your boots off."
Tomura emerged from the study, holding a ceramic mug with four fingers. The Alpha stopped a few paces back, his red eyes raking over the duffel bag. Kirishima straightened up, setting his shoes neatly on the rack and bowing with easy, practiced respect. "Afternoon, Shigaraki-san. Aizawa-sensei cleared the weekend pass. Curfew isn't until Sunday evening."
"If you wake me up before nine tomorrow, I’m decaying your bag," Tomura rasped, though there was zero venom in the words. He gave a single, dismissive nod toward the hall. "Go put your things away. Dinner’s at six."
Touya peeked out from the kitchen, a wooden spatula in hand and a sly, teasing smirk stretching across his smooth jaw. "Behave yourselves back there. Don't make me come check the door."
"Mama! Shut up!" Katsuki snapped, his face burning as he grabbed Kirishima’s sleeve and dragged him down the quiet hallway to his room.
That night, the den was utterly peaceful. After a hearty dinner of spicy beef stew that had Kirishima sweating and laughing through Katsuki’s relentless teasing, the two retreated to Katsuki's quarters.
The nest had grown even plusher over the winter, the thick wool blanket Kirishima had brought on his first visit woven seamlessly into the outer barrier. The two of them climbed into the center, the heavy quilts swallowing them in deep, scent-soaked warmth. With Kirishima's sturdy arm draped over his waist and the grounding presence of sun-baked cedar surrounding him, Katsuki drifted off with his forehead pressed against Kirishima’s collarbone, sleeping through the night without stirring once.
By midday Saturday, the two of them were stepping off the local train onto the platform at Chiba South. The regional rail junction had been completely rebuilt, the fresh concrete and polished steel rails gleaming under the clear coastal sky. The salty tang of the sea breeze whipped through Katsuki’s blond hair as they descended the station stairs into the bustling seaside town.
The lantern festival had been rescheduled to celebrate the district's reopening, and the streets leading down toward the boardwalk were alive with color. Crimson and white paper lanterns hung suspended on wires overhead, swaying gently in the ocean wind.
Families, couples, and local shopkeepers filled the avenues, and the mouthwatering scents of grilled squid, roasted sweet potatoes, and sweet dough drifted from every corner.
Kirishima walked close beside Katsuki, his shoulder brushing against Katsuki's with every step. "Told you the tracks would get fixed! How does it look?"
"Loud," Katsuki said, ducking his chin slightly into his dark shearling jacket. But his red eyes darted across the vibrant stalls with quiet, genuine wonder. "Smells good, though."
"Come on, I promised you those glazed chestnut cakes!" Kirishima reached out, his hand hesitating for half a second before his fingers gently slid against Katsuki’s, curling around his palm. Kirishima’s cheeks dusted red, but he didn't pull away, meeting Katsuki’s surprised glance with a brave, tender smile.
Katsuki’s breath hitched. A bright flush rushed across his face, but instead of jerking back, his fingers tightened, squeezing Kirishima’s hand firmly in return.
They spent the entire afternoon weaving through the vibrant stalls. Kirishima bought the warm, honey-glazed chestnut cakes, triumphantly watching Katsuki's eyes widen at the first bite before the blond declared that the seasoning was actually decent. They shared skewers of grilled octopus, tried their luck at a traditional wooden ring-toss where Katsuki aggressively won a hand-carved cedar fox charm, and wandered all the way to the water's edge.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the Pacific in brilliant streaks of violet, peach, and liquid gold, the thousands of lanterns along the coast flickered to life.
Standing on the wooden boardwalk overlooking the gently rolling tide, Katsuki leaned his forearms on the painted railing, holding the carved fox charm in one hand. The ocean wind ruffled his sweater, carrying away every lingering ghost of the past.
Kirishima stood beside him, their shoulders pressed together, his crimson eyes glowing in the soft amber lantern light. "I'm really glad we finally got to come here together, Katsuki," Kirishima said softly, his voice full of warmth.
Katsuki looked out over the glowing coastline, feeling completely anchored, completely free, and entirely whole. He leaned his head sideways, resting it gently against Kirishima’s sturdy shoulder.
"Yeah," Katsuki murmured, a soft, rare smile curving his lips in the quiet evening light. "Me too." The return train ride through the darkening mountain pass was quiet and rhythmic, the steady clack of the rails soothing the lingering excitement of the coastal boardwalk.
Katsuki spent most of the journey with his shoulder pressed against Kirishima’s, his fingers loosely tangled with the other boy's under the heavy hem of his jacket.
By the time they reached the winding stone trail leading up to the villa, the canopy of ancient pines was dusted with moonlight. The night was crisp, carrying the clean fragrance of cedar and damp earth.
Climbing up the stairs, Katsuki opened the door and they toed off their shoes, walking quietly down the hallway. Katsuki stopped outside his parents' door and slid it open quietly, the two were sitting at the low table looking over some charts.
"We're home, Mama, Dad." He said quietly. Touya looked up and smiled, "Welcome home." Tomura glanced at Kirishima, who had his head politely turned away from looking into their den. "Did you have fun?" Katsuki nodded. "I did, Dad." Tomura nodded. "Good."
"Night." Katsuki said. "Good night, pup." Touya smiled. "Good night, Kirishima-kun." Kirishima bowed his head. "Good night, Todoroki-san, Shigaraki-san." Tomura grunted, waving his hand, Katsuki giggled.
He closed the door and led Kirishima back down the hall to his room, where they climbed into his nest and promptly fell asleep.
At midmorning the next day, Kirishima came to a stop at the wooden post marking the perimeter of the safehouse, Kirishima came to a halt. The warm lantern light from the night before was now gone.
"Guess this is my stop," Kirishima murmured softly, his breath misting in the cool air as he turned to face Katsuki. His duffel bag hung from one shoulder, and the crimson glow of his eyes was soft, full of reluctant affection. "I have to catch the last regional loop back to UA before Aizawa locks the front gate."
Katsuki looked up at him, burying his hands into the pockets of his dark shearling coat. The rich, sweet warmth of his burnt-caramel scent bloomed gently, steady and completely unshadowed by fear.
"You didn't embarrass yourself this weekend, hair-dye," Katsuki said, his tone carrying its familiar sharp edge, though the soft flush creeping over his cheekbones betrayed him entirely. "The cakes were fine. The train wasn't terrible."
Kirishima let out a low, breathless laugh, stepping just half a pace closer. His cheeks darkened to the exact shade of his spiky hair, his heart beating a frantic, eager rhythm against his ribs.
"I'm really glad," Kirishima whispered, his voice dropping into an earnest, steady register. "I had the best time, Katsuki. Really." Kirishima hesitated for a fraction of a second, his fingers trembling slightly as he reached up, gently brushing a stray lock of ash-blond hair behind Katsuki’s ear. His touch was feather-light, giving Katsuki every opportunity to step away or set a boundary.
Katsuki didn't pull back. Instead, he took a small step forward, closing the remaining distance until their chests almost brushed. He reached out, his fingers curling tightly into the thick collar of Kirishima’s flannel jacket, pulling the red-haired boy down.
Kirishima’s breath hitched in his throat, his crimson eyes widening with sudden, tender wonder before they slowly fluttered shut. Their lips met in a quiet, breathless collision under the sun-lit pines.
It was soft and hesitant at first, a gentle press of warmth against the cool mountain air, before settling into something deep, sweet, and utterly grounding. Kirishima’s free hand came up instinctively, his broad, warm palm resting flat against the curve of Katsuki’s jaw, his thumb smoothing over the soft skin of his cheek with profound reverence.
For Katsuki, the world narrowed down to the steady, unshakeable heat of the boy in front of him. There was no clinical chill, no scent of sterile iron, and no cage, only the rich, sun-baked cedar of Kirishima's scent wrapping around his senses, sealing away the last fragments of a broken past.
When they finally parted, their foreheads rested together in the quiet night, their breaths mingling in pale, shared clouds of vapour. Kirishima’s face was glowing with brilliant, breathless joy, his sharp-toothed smile breaking wide and tender across his flushed features. "Whoa..."
Katsuki let out a quiet huff, hiding his burning face against Kirishima’s shoulder for one brief, private second before pushing back with a proud, breathtaking smirk.
"Don't get cocky, idiot," Katsuki murmured, his red eyes sparkling with sharp, victorious light. "Now go before you miss the train and Dad actually turns your bag to dust."
"I'm going, I'm going!" Kirishima laughed, stepping backward down the trail with his hand still raised, unable to tear his eyes away. "Text me the second you get inside! See you soon, Katsuki!"
"See you soon, Eijirou." Katsuki called back softly.
Standing at the edge of the path, watching the red-haired boy jog toward the station with unbridled joy in every stride, Katsuki turned back toward the warm lights of the villa, his chest bursting with a golden, unbreakable peace.
The intelligence arrived in the dead of night through Giran’s clandestine broker network: Chisaki Kai had resurfaced in an abandoned industrial shipyard on the outskirts of Yokohama, attempting to reassemble the remnants of the Shie Hassaikai with black-market arms.
In the strategy room of the villa, the air was dense and electric. Tomura stood over the steel table, his crimson eyes gleaming with cold, lethal calculation, while Touya laced up his heavy combat boots, the scent of sharp blue ozone rolling off his skin in waves. The League was mobilizing with a single, absolute directive: to eliminate the threat to their pack once and for all.
Before stepping out, Tomura pulled out his secure burner phone and dialed the direct line to UA. Aizawa answered on the second ring, his gravelly voice alert despite the late hour. "Shigaraki."
"Chisaki’s location is confirmed. Sector 4, Yokohama docks," Tomura rasped, his voice dropping into a dark, unyielding cadence. "We’re going out tonight to finish what we started. The brat won't stay here alone while the mountain perimeter is unguarded. I want him in your dorms until sunrise."
There was a heavy, measuring silence on the other end of the line. "I'll contact Nedzu and the commission liaison immediately," Aizawa replied steadily. "Bring him to the west gate drop point in thirty minutes."
Within twenty minutes, Aizawa had convened an emergency encrypted conference with Nedzu and the senior hero task force. The underground hero laid the terms out with blunt, uncompromising clarity: the League possessed the exact coordinates and capability to neutralize Chisaki before he could mobilize his biological weapons, but their cooperation hinged entirely on Katsuki’s safety.
After a brief, tense deliberation between Nedzu and the commission director, the heroes granted official clearance for the quarantine overnight pass, with one non-negotiable condition delivered directly through Aizawa: No unnecessary civilian casualties, and zero destruction beyond the shipyard perimeter.
At the secluded gate behind the UA campus, the headlights of the League’s unmarked van cut through the mist. Tomura stepped out first, keeping his posture coiled and vigilant as Aizawa emerged from the shadows of the tree line.
Katsuki hopped down from the passenger side, clutching a dark duffel bag against his chest. His red eyes flicked between Tomura and Touya, his sweet caramel scent spiked with sharp, protective worry for his parents. "Don't do anything stupid out there," Katsuki muttered, his jaw set tight as he looked at Tomura.
Tomura stepped up, resting a broad, gloved hand firmly on the top of Katsuki’s blond head, his crimson eyes softening with quiet, absolute certainty. "We're taking the trash out, brat. Go inside with Eraser. We'll pick you up in the morning."
Touya leaned out from the van door, a fierce, confident smirk curling his scarred lips as blue sparks danced across his fingertips. "Get some sleep, pup. Mama’s going to make sure that monster never takes another breath." Katsuki nodded firmly, swallowing the lump in his throat. "Come back in one piece."
"Always," Tomura rasped. Aizawa placed a steady, grounding hand on Katsuki’s shoulder, guiding him through the reinforced security barrier into the safety of the campus. As the van turned and vanished into the dark mountain road toward Yokohama, Katsuki walked toward the warm lights of the 2-A dorms, knowing that behind the storm brewing in the city, his pack was tearing down every shadow of his past.
The salt-heavy wind off Yokohama Bay whipped across the rusted shipping containers of Sector 4. Inside the cavernous belly of an abandoned drydock warehouse, Chisaki Kai stood surrounded by half a dozen heavily armed mercenaries, his golden eyes cold above the pristine plague mask, barking orders to secure the remaining quirk-erasing cartridges.
The massive iron hangar doors didn't swing open, they violently liquefied into a roaring curtain of cobalt blue fire. The blaze consumed the steel frames in a split second, casting dancing, demonic shadows across the concrete floor.
Through the wall of roaring heat Tomura strode forward, hands shoved loosely into the pockets of his dark coat, flanked by Touya, whose turquoise eyes burned with lethal delight as azure flames rolled off his knuckles.
"You really should have stayed in Tartarus, Chisaki," Tomura rasped, his voice echoing over the crackle of fire. "You look pathetic crawling around in the dirt."
"League filth," Chisaki snarled, his voice muffled by the beak of his mask. "You think you can stop the restoration of order? Kill them!" The mercenaries opened fire, heavy caliber rounds tearing through the smoke.
Spinner leaped from the shipping crate above, his massive jagged blade cleaving through the first line of rifles. A stray ricochet grazed the reptilian warrior along the crest of his left shoulder, slicing a shallow, stinging red line across his scale-covered skin. Spinner hissed through his teeth, kicking the gunman through a wooden crate with a harsh bark of laughter. "A paper cut! That all you got?!"
Behind him, Twice multiplied into a chaotic swarm of clones that overwhelmed the remaining guards, disarming them before they could trigger any heavier ordinance.
Chisaki lunged forward, desperately reaching for the concrete to reconstruct the battlefield into a lethal forest of stone spikes, but he never made contact.
Touya materialized through a flash of smoke, a sweep of scorching blue flame instantly searing the ground beneath Chisaki's boots into glass, driving the former yakuza boss onto his knees. Before Chisaki could recover, Tomura was already there, stepping onto his outstretched wrist with crushing force.
Tomura leaned down, his crimson eyes locking onto Chisaki's terrified golden gaze. "You touched my pup. You put him on an operating table." Tomura's hand hovered an inch above Chisaki's shoulder, all five fingers flexing. "Now you disappear."
A breathless, muted scream tore through the warehouse as the decaying wave dissolved the remaining biological weapons and structural threats into fine grey dust, sealing the nightmare into the dark for good.
Meanwhile, miles away under the bright halogen lights of the UA training gym, the atmosphere was lively and competitive.
Class 2-B had booked the indoor combat grounds for an extended late-evening session, and when Aizawa led Katsuki through the double doors, several students paused mid-sparring drill. Kaminari, who had been spotting Fukudashi at the bench press, practically beamed the second he caught sight of the blond, giving him a welcoming wave. "Katsuki! You're here man!"
Aizawa stepped forward, addressing the curious group with his usual dry authority. "Class 2-B, this is Katsuki. He’s staying in the 2-A dorms tonight under special campus clearance. Keep your sparring within the designated rings."
"So this is the famous ward we've been hearing about!" Kendo said warmly, unstrapping her martial arts wraps as she walked up with a respectful nod. "I'm Kendo Itsuka, Class 2-B representative. Kirishima talks about you all the time."
"He does, does he?" Katsuki mumbled, feeling a faint, warm blush prickle the back of his neck as his sweet burnt-caramel scent surfaced in quiet relief. He offered Kendo a firm, steady nod. "Good to meet you."
"A fierce presence! Truly an intriguing aura under the fluorescent light," Kuroiro murmured, drifting up from the shadows near the mat with a faint, enigmatic bow.
"Don't mind Kuroiro, he's just dramatic," Tetsutetsu boomed, marching over and slamming his fists together with a loud metallic ring. "Kirishima told me you've got incredible hand-to-hand instincts! We ought to trade pointers sometime, man to man!"
"Anytime, iron-head," Katsuki smirked, his competitive spark flaring comfortably in his red eyes as he crossed his arms.
Surrounded by the open, straightforward chatter of the students and grounded by Kirishima’s warm presence beside him, the heavy weight of the night began to lift from Katsuki's shoulders.
Tetsutetsu’s grin widened at Katsuki's retort, his silver teeth flashing beneath the fluorescent gym lights. "Iron-head? Ha! I like him already! Hey, Aizawa-sensei, can we get a ring? Just pure technical hand-to-hand, no quirks! Let's see what the kid's got!"
Every pair of eyes in the training hall turned toward Aizawa. The underground hero stood near the equipment rack, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his dark jumpsuit. He studied Katsuki closely, taking in the loose, balanced way the teenager held his shoulders, the steady focus in his crimson eyes, and the calm, sweet-caramel warmth that carried zero trace of panic.
"Fifteen minutes," Aizawa said, his voice flat and measured. "Quirks remain strictly deactivated. The moment either combatant yields or leaves the mat, the round terminates immediately. Katsuki, you call the stop if you want out."
"I won't need to," Katsuki said, a sharp, fierce smirk curving his lips. He shed his heavy jacket, tossing it onto the bench where Kirishima caught it with an eager, supportive grin. Underneath, Katsuki wore a fitted black compression shirt that highlighted the lean, wiry muscle of his shoulders and back. He slipped off his boots, stepping onto the textured canvas mat with predator-like silence.
Kendo stepped up first, tightening her cloth wraps around her palms. "Don't hold back. Our hand-to-hand instructor doesn't grade on a curve."
"Good. Neither does mine," Katsuki replied, dropping his center of gravity into a low, fluid stance, his hands raised loose and high near his chin.
The moment Kendo advanced, the difference in styles became obvious. Kendo moved with pristine, disciplined karate fundamentals, a snapping front jab aimed to gauge distance, followed by a sweeping low roundhouse kick.
Katsuki didn't just block; he flowed. He slipped inside the trajectory of her lead knuckle with razor-thin clearance, his shoulder grazing her gi as he deflected the follow-up kick with a sharp downward elbow. Pivoting cleanly on the ball of his left foot, Katsuki caught Kendo's outstretched wrist, hooked his heel behind her ankle, and used her forward momentum to drive her smoothly into a controlled hip throw.
Kendo slapped the mat with an audible smack, skidding to a halt on the canvas, her dark eyes wide with startled respect. "Center line was too rigid," Katsuki noted coolly, stepping back to give her space to rise. "You leave your ribs open when you over-rotate on the sweep."
"Fast..." Kendo breathed, rubbing the back of her neck as she pushed herself up with an impressed laugh. "Your counter-timing is unbelievable. Where did you learn that?"
"Trial and error," Katsuki muttered, his chest heaving with steady, rhythmic breaths, his red eyes blazing with genuine adrenaline. "My turn! Come on, let me get a piece of that!" Tetsutetsu bellowed, practically launching himself over the perimeter line onto the ring. He squared his broad shoulders, planting his feet wide like an unmovable steel pillar. "Let's see you try to throw two hundred pounds of pure muscle!"
"Weight doesn't mean shit if your balance is garbage," Katsuki smirked, shifting his stance.
Tetsutetsu surged forward like a runaway freight train, throwing a heavy, straight right punch with raw kinetic force. Katsuki didn't bother trying to absorb the impact; he dipped low beneath the strike, letting the gust of air ruffle his blond bangs, and drove a lightning-quick palm strike directly into Tetsutetsu’s solar plexus to knock the wind from his lungs.
Before the metal-skinned boy could reset, Katsuki dropped to one knee, sweeping his rear leg in a vicious, circular arc that kicked Tetsutetsu's lead ankle clean out from under him.
Tetsutetsu crashed onto the mat with a booming thud that rattled the gym floor, flat on his back, staring up at the stadium beams in utter shock.
Silence gripped the gym for two full seconds before Class 2-B erupted into cheers and wild laughter. "Tetsutetsu got folded like laundry!" Monoma crowed from the sidelines, clutching his stomach in theatric delight.
"Did you see that leg sweep?! That was pure street discipline!" Awase yelled, leaning over the ropes with a grin. Standing by the edge of the mat, Kirishima was practically vibrating, clutching Katsuki’s jacket against his chest with a massive, brilliant, sharp-toothed smile. "Hell yeah! That was manly as hell, Katsuki!"
Hearing the praise, the fierce competitive bite in Katsuki’s posture softened. A bright, unmistakable blush bloomed across his cheeks, rushing straight to the tips of his ears as his sweet burnt-caramel scent flooded the ring in rich, triumphant waves. He extended a hand down toward Tetsutetsu, hauling the groaning teenager to his feet with a cocky grin.
"Keep your chin tucked, iron-head," Katsuki said, his voice bright and breathless with pure joy. "Otherwise the next one puts you to sleep."
From the edge of the mat, Aizawa watched the boy standing tall, laughing and bantering with the hero students, and let out a quiet, satisfied hum into his capture scarf.
The phone in Katsuki’s lap buzzed three times in rapid succession, vibrating against the denim of his jeans as he sat curled up on the common room sofa.
He picked it up, unlocking the secure screen just as a bright notification banner popped up across the glass, but before he could even process the ridiculous title, the chat exploded.

Katsuki stared down at the glowing screen, biting his lower lip as a warm, helpless grin tugged at the corners of his mouth. His sweet burnt-caramel scent bloomed softly around the cushions, rich with an easy, unburdened peace. He turned the ringer down just a fraction, slipped the phone back into his pocket, and leaned his head back against the sofa, knowing that for the first time in his life, he had people waiting on every frequency.
The early morning sun was just beginning to burn through the campus mist when the unmarked black van pulled up to the secluded west gate.
Aizawa stood waiting by the perimeter post with a thermos of coffee, watching Katsuki step out from the tree line. Katsuki’s dark duffel bag was slung over one shoulder, his posture loose and rested.
When the van’s side door slid open, the rich, familiar scents of dry smoke, cool mountain pine, and ozone rolled out into the chill. Tomura sat in the drivers seat with his hood pulled low, while Touya leaned casually against the middle row headrest, his staple-free scars pale in the dawn light. In the back, Spinner was slouched comfortably with a fresh white bandage taped securely over his left shoulder.
"Took your sweet time, brat," Tomura rasped, his crimson eyes raking over Katsuki to ensure not a hair was out of place. "Get in. The kettle’s on."
"Did you behave for the underground rat?" Touya smirked, reaching out to ruffle Katsuki’s blond hair the second he hopped inside. "Always do, Mama," Katsuki mumbled waving goodbye to Aizawa, sinking into the soft leather seat with a deep, content sigh as the van turned back toward the secluded mountain pass.
By mid-afternoon, Katsuki was back in his own den. The villa was warm and quiet, the scent of simmered miso floating from the kitchen.
Katsuki sat curled cross-legged in the center of his massive, plush nest, leaning his back against the thick wool blanket Kirishima had brought him. He was peacefully peeling a mikan when his phone began to vibrate rhythmically against the futon. He picked it up, unlocking the screen to see the Class 2-A chat in full swing.

Mina:
YOU CAN’T LEAVE US NOW KATSUKI-KUN YOU’RE TRAPPED FOREVER 💖💖
Katsuki tossed the phone onto the edge of the nest with a soft, exasperated scoff, though the tips of his ears flushed a radiant pink. A wide, fond smirk broke across his face as he popped a sweet slice of mikan into his mouth, his burnt-caramel scent settling warm and completely at home.
The revelation did not happen through a calculated stakeout or a confession. It happened because Kirishima made the fatal mistake of letting his guard down in the common area.
He was sprawled over the large modular couch in the Heights Alliance lounge, half-dozing after an exhausting four-hour endurance trial with Fat Gum. His phone rested face-up on his chest. Mina, on a routine quest across the rug for the television remote, stopped dead in her tracks when the screen lit up with an incoming notification.
Katsuki 💖
If you fell asleep on the sofa again without drinking water, I'm hiding your protein powder next weekend. Drink something, idiot. ❤️
Mina’s yellow sclera widened to the size of saucers. Her gaze slowly tracked down from the glowing screen to Kirishima's face, then to the tiny wooden cedar fox charm currently hanging off the zipper pull of his training gym bag, the exact match to the one Katsuki had won at the Chiba festival.
A slow, terrifying grin split Mina’s face. She didn't scream. She didn't shake Kirishima awake. She simply whipped her own phone from her pocket with predatory speed, very quietly took a picture of his screen, tiptoed backward toward the stairs, and opened the class channel.

also you guys are terrible, yes we’re together, now leave him alone before he actually sets something on fire
You're sleeping on the floor next weekend, hair-dye.
Both of you shut up.
Miles away in the secluded villa, Katsuki threw his phone facedown onto the plush quilts of his nest. He buried his face in his hands, his cheeks radiating a furious, undeniable heat, but beneath his palms, a small, genuine smile curled his lips as his sweet burnt-caramel scent filled the quiet room.
The front entryway of the Heights Alliance dorms had been turned into an impassable checkpoint.
Kirishima stood by the shoe lockers, his overnight duffel slung over his shoulder and his cheeks practically glowing the same vivid crimson as his hair. He had spent ten minutes trying to sneak out the side terrace, only to find the entire main lounge blockaded by his classmates.
"Leaving so soon, Romeo?" Mina grinned, leaning against the shoe cubbies with her arms crossed and an infuriating twinkle in her yellow eyes. "The mountain train doesn't even leave for another forty minutes. Somebody’s eager to get back to the fortress."
"Guys, come on, Aizawa-sensei already cleared my weekend pass," Kirishima groaned, adjusting the strap of his bag and trying to shove his feet into his heavy boots. "I’m just heading up to hang out."
"Hang out? Is that what the kids are calling it these days?" Kaminari teased from the bottom of the stairs, clasping both hands over his heart and dramatically tilting his head back. "Oh, Katsuki, my sweet mountain prince, please don't disintegrate my protein powder! Have some water, my love!"
"Kaminari, I swear to God–"
"Make sure you mind your manners with the in-laws!" Sero chimed in from the kitchen bar, waving a spatula like a conductor's baton. "Don't look the Decay King in the eyes, and whatever you do, don't let Mama Todoroki catch you stealing extra blankets from the nest."
"And remember to maintain proper decorum!" Iida barked from the sofa, his arm chopping through the air in sharp, ninety-degree angles. "A courtship requires discipline, punctuality, and utter respect for parental boundaries! You are an ambassador of Class 2-A!"
"He's not courting the parents, Iida, he's courting the Omega," Jirou snickered, leaning over the back of an armchair with a smirk. "Though from what Shouto said about that sleeping photo, I think the boy’s already plenty courted."
Kirishima buried his burning face directly into his hands, letting out a muffled, desperate whine that only made the lounge erupt into louder laughter. "I hate all of you so much. You're the worst friends in the world."
"Bring back some of that mountain tea if they don't murder you!" Uraraka called out cheerfully, giving him a supportive thumbs-up.
"And give Katsuki-kun a hug for us!" Midoriya added with a warm, encouraging smile.
"I'm leaving! I'm officially gone!" Kirishima yelled over his shoulder, wrenching the heavy dorm doors open and practically sprinting down the front walkway to escape the barrage of catcalls and whistles echoing from the porch.
The cool afternoon breeze off the campus grounds did little to cool the fierce, dizzying blush on his face, but as he jogged toward the station gates, his hand drifted down to the little cedar fox swinging from his duffel zipper. A bright, sharp-toothed grin broke across his features, his chest buzzing with warm, unstoppable excitement for the mountain pass ahead.
The crunch of gravel beneath Kirishima’s boots gave way to the smooth stone steps of the porch. The mountain air was clean, scented with cedar and the faint, unmistakable trace of sweet burnt caramel that meant Katsuki was inside.
Before Kirishima could raise a knuckle to knock, the heavy front panel slid back on its tracks.
Touya stood in the opening, a mug of steaming tea cradled in one scarred palm, an infuriatingly smug grin spreading across his face
"Well, well. If it isn't UA's most notorious Romeo," Touya drawled, his turquoise eyes gleaming with wicked delight as he stepped aside. "Heard your little fan club had a field day on that group chat. Shouto told me the pink girl practically put your texts on the evening news.
Kirishima groaned, ducking his head as a brilliant scarlet rush overtook his ears. "Please, Todoroki-san, not you too. I got roasted for thirty straight minutes before I could even make it past the shoe lockers."
"Serves you right for leaving your phone lying around, hero boy," Touya chuckled, giving Kirishima’s shoulder a sharp, playful shove toward the interior. "Katsuki’s in the den fixing dinner. He's been sulking and chopping carrots like they personally offended him ever since the leak."
Kirishima toe-kicked his boots into the entryway cubby, straightening up with his duffel in hand, only to freeze mid-step. Standing at the end of the timber hall, framed beneath the amber glow of the corridor lantern, was Tomura.
The League leader was dressed in simple black loungewear, his hands buried deep in his pockets, but the sheer weight of his presence sucked the playful air right out of the corridor.
His crimson eyes were unblinking, cool, and razor-sharp as they locked onto Kirishima.
Touya offered a casual, dismissive wave. "Have fun, kid. Try not to leave any ashes on the floor." With that, the older Omega slipped down toward the kitchen, leaving Kirishima alone with the Alpha.
"Drop the bag," Tomura rasped, his voice low and gravelly. "Come. Follow me." Kirishima swallowed dryly, his pulse picking up a steady, nervous tempo, but he squared his broad shoulders, set his bag against the wall, and stepped into the small tea room Tomura nodded toward.
The door slid shut behind them with a decisive click. Tomura didn't sit. He leaned against the timber post near the window, his arms crossing over his chest, his pinkies cocked upright out of instinct.
"You think this is a game," Tomura started, the words carrying a flat, dangerous edge that brooked zero nonsense. "No, sir. I don't," Kirishima answered immediately, meeting the villain's lethal gaze head-on without flinching.
"Katsuki is an Omega with a quirk that made him a commodity to monsters like Chisaki," Tomura said, stepping a fraction closer. The low, crushing hum of his territorial scent flared just enough to make the air feel thin. "He spent years in a cage, being treated like livestock. It took every drop of blood we had to get him here, to make him feel like he has a choice, like he actually owns his own skin."
Kirishima’s jaw set, his crimson eyes softening with deep, unyielding resolve. "I know, Shigaraki-san. I know what he's been through. I swear to you, I would never–"
"I don't care about your promises, hero," Tomura cut in sharply, his red eyes burning into him. "I care about results. If you rush him, if you make him feel trapped, if you let your loudmouthed hero friends make him feel like a freak or a trophy you won at a festival... I won't just break your jaw. I will dismantle everything you care about until there’s nothing left to bury. Do you understand me?"
The threat hung in the quiet room, cold and absolute. Kirishima didn't back down, nor did he puff out his chest in foolish bravado. He took a steady breath, bowed deeply from the waist, and held it.
"I understand completely," Kirishima said, his voice ringing clear and steady in the small space. "Katsuki is everything to me. I'm going at his pace, always. If he ever tells me to stop, or to back off, I will. You won't have to hunt me down, Shigaraki-san. But I'm not going to hurt him. I swear on my life."
Silence stretched between them for five long seconds. Tomura exhaled a slow, raspy breath through his nose. The suffocating Alpha pressure in the room vanished, replaced once more by the ordinary stillness of the house. Tomura uncrossed his arms, rubbing the back of his neck with four fingers, letting out a dry, irritated grunt.
"You talk too much," Tomura muttered, turning toward the door and sliding it open. "Go to the kitchen. If you let him burn the rice, you're doing the dishes." Kirishima let out a quiet, relieved breath, a small, genuine smile breaking across his face. "Yes, sir."
Sunday morning crept up too quickly, bringing with it the familiar, crisp mountain chill that signaled Kirishima’s departure was drawing near.
Down by the stone steps of the front veranda, Kirishima hoisted his duffel bag onto his shoulder, checking the glowing screen of his phone one last time. The mountain path was quiet, bathed in the bright glow of the rising of the afternoon sun, with ancient pines whispering softly in the soft breeze.
Katsuki stepped off of the second step, his hands buried deep inside the oversized pockets of a dark fleece jacket. The sweet, rich aroma of his burnt-caramel scent curled into the cool air, braided closely with the grounding warmth of sun-baked cedar that had settled over him throughout the weekend.
"Eleven-thirty train," Katsuki murmured as they walked, his red eyes darting away toward the tree line before flicking back to Kirishima's face. "If you miss the transfer at the junction, don't come crying to me when Aizawa makes you scrub the dorm gutters."
"I won't miss it, promise," Kirishima said softly. When they stopped at the first lantern-marker, his broad, sharp-toothed grin was bright, though his crimson eyes held a tender, reluctant warmth. He took a step closer, closing the small space between them until their breath mingled in pale puffs of white mist.
"Thanks for the weekend, Katsuki. Really. Even with Mina's nonsense, it was the best." Katsuki let out a quiet, breathy scoff, the tips of his ears flushing a telltale, radiant pink. "Ashido is still getting her door dismantled."
"Don't cause property damage for me," Kirishima laughed under his breath, his expression softening into something utterly devoted. He reached up, his calloused, warm fingers gently brushing against Katsuki's jawline, tilting his chin upward with slow, careful reverence.
Katsuki didn't pull back. Instead, his fingers caught the lapels of Kirishima’s flannel, pulling him firmly forward. Their mouths met in a deep, lingering kiss that shut out the cold completely. It wasn't rushed or hesitant like the breathless brush beneath the lanterns; it was deliberate, steady, and full of quiet hunger.
Kirishima’s arm wrapped around Katsuki’s waist, pulling him flush against his chest, while Katsuki leaned into the embrace with a soft, contented sigh, his fingers tightening in the red-haired boy's shirt. Every lingering edge of tension from the past weeks seemed to dissolve into the quiet rhythm of Kirishima's heartbeat.
When they finally broke apart, both of them were flushed and breathing heavily, their eyes bright with dizzying affection. "Go," Katsuki whispered against Kirishima’s lips, a breathless, cocky smirk tugging at his mouth despite his burning face. "Before I change my mind and throw you down the hill."
"I'm going, I'm going!" Kirishima beamed, practically glowing as he stepped backward down the gravel path, one hand lingering until their fingers slipped apart. "Text me later, okay? See you soon, Katsuki!"
Katsuki watched him jog down the winding path until the red flannel vanished into the pines. He exhaled a long, misty breath, brought the back of his fingers up to touch his tingling lips, and turned around to head back inside.
The moment he slid the heavy front door shut, he stopped dead in his tracks. Leaning against the hallway timber frame, right under the unlit lantern, were Tomura and Touya.
Touya had both arms crossed, a thoroughly wicked, triumphant grin stretching across his scarred face. Beside him, Tomura stood with a ceramic mug held carefully in four fingers, his dark eyebrows raised in dry, agonizing amusement.
"Quite the send-off, pup," Touya drawled, his turquoise eyes practically dancing with glee as he tilted his head. "Look at those cheeks. I think you're hotter than my blue flames right now. Should I bring out an ice pack, or are you going to stand there looking like a ripe tomato all day?"
"Mama!" Katsuki barked instantly, a violent scarlet rush washing all the way down his neck as his sweet caramel scent spiked into flustered, frantic waves.
"I thought you were throwing him down the hill," Tomura rasped smoothly, taking a slow sip of tea with an infuriating smirk curving the corners of his chapped lips. "Looked to me like you were trying to swallow him whole. Careful, brat. If you keep clinging to him like that, the UA hero will think he actually tamed a wild animal."
"I wasn't clinging to anyone!" Katsuki yelled, throwing his shoes off with aggressive clatters into the entryway rack and storming past them down the hall, his face burning like a furnace. "Both of you are the absolute worst! I'm locking my door!"
"Don't forget to text your little hero boy!" Touya called out after him, bursting into a loud, delighted laugh that echoed warmly through the safehouse corridors.
Behind his closed bedroom door, Katsuki threw himself face-first into the plush, cedar-scented depths of his nest. He buried his burning face under the heavy wool blanket with a muffled, embarrassed groan, though beneath the fabric, an uncontrollable, radiant smile spread across his lips, safe and deeply loved in the quiet heart of his home.
The mountain villa was hushed beneath a dense veil of late-spring rain, the rhythmic drum of water against the timber eaves masking the heavy, feverish stillness that had settled over the southern corridor.
Inside Katsuki’s private quarters, the air was thick, suffocatingly warm, and drenched in the cloying, overripe sweetness of melted caramel, spun sugar, and burning embers.
His first true biological heat had struck without mercy before dawn. Stripped of the clinical suppressants that Chisaki’s laboratory had pumped into his veins for years, Katsuki’s body was reclaiming its natural cycles with brutal, overwhelming intensity.
He was tangled in the deepest center of his nest, curled onto his side with his knees drawn high toward his chest. His blond hair was soaked with sweat, plastered against his fever-hot forehead, and his cheeks burned with an agonizing, flushed crimson.
He clutched the thick, un-dyed wool blanket Kirishima had brought him, pulling the rough fibers right against his mouth and nose, frantically trying to draw out every fading trace of sun-baked cedar. It was too faint. The scent had worn thin over the weeks, leaving his frantic instincts howling into an empty room.
A low, broken whine scraped from the back of Katsuki’s throat. His fingers twisted into the quilts, his body arching as a sudden, sharp wave of cramping heat ripped through his lower belly.
"Alpha..." Katsuki whimpered, the word raw, desperate, and entirely involuntary. His glazed red eyes fluttered, unseeing, toward the sliding door. "Where... Alpha...? Need... Want..."
The wooden door panel slid back with smooth, whisper-quiet care. Touya stepped into the room carrying a basin of cool spring water and a stack of clean linen cloths. He had his sleeves rolled up, his turquoise eyes soft with deep, maternal sorrow as the dense, suffocating wave of Katsuki’s distress washed over him. Touya was an Omega; his presence was grounding and familiar, entirely devoid of the threatening, abrasive bite of an outside scent.
"Easy, pup," Touya murmured, his voice a low, soothing purr that vibrated from his chest. He moved gracefully, kneeling down at the edge of the nest without disturbing the carefully arranged perimeter of blankets.
He wrung out a cloth, dipping it into the chilled water, and gently pressed it against Katsuki’s burning temple. Katsuki flinched at the shock of cold, then leaned desperately into Touya’s scarred hand, a ragged, shuddering sob tearing from his chest.
He reached out with trembling, fever-slick fingers, weakly bunching the fabric of Touya’s dark sweater in his fists. "Mama... Mama, please," Katsuki begged, his voice cracking into thin, pathetic syllables as tears tracked through the sweat on his flushed cheeks.
"Call him... Bring him here. Eijirou... My Alpha... It hurts, Mama, it hurts so bad... I need him, in the nest..." Touya’s chest tightened, a sharp ache lancing through his heart at the sheer vulnerability pouring from the boy who spent every waking hour trying to act untouchable.
Touya leaned down, smoothing a cool palm over the back of Katsuki’s damp neck, letting his own scent, rich winter pine and quiet, reassuring smoke, flood the hollow to ease the worst of the spike.
"I know, baby. I know it aches," Touya hushed him gently, brushing damp blond spikes away from Katsuki’s fevered eyes. "Shh, listen to Mama. Eijirou is at school right now. He's at UA, in the middle of hero trials down in the city.
"Don't... Don't care about hero trials," Katsuki gasped out, burying his face into Touya’s knee, his entire frame shuddering as another hot cramp seized his muscles. "Call him... Tell him to come... He'll come for me..."
"No, pup," Touya said softly as Katsuki sobbed, his tone turning firm, steady and unyielding in its fierce protection. "He would drop everything and run if we called him, you know he would. But you two haven't finished courting yet. You're not mated, and you haven't taken his bite."
Katsuki let out a muffled, frustrated wail into the fabric of the quilt, thrashing weakly against the suffocating fever. Touya gathered the trembling boy into his arms, hauling Katsuki’s upper body securely against his chest, tucking Katsuki’s burning head beneath his chin. He held him with an iron, protective grip that kept the boy anchored against the overwhelming biological tide.
"Your body is confused, because it's the first time you're having a real cycle of your own," Touya whispered fiercely into Katsuki's hair, rubbing broad, rhythmic circles over his trembling back. "You have your freedom now, Katsuki. We fought like hell to make sure nobody ever touches you unless you're in your right mind to choose it. You don't hand yourself over in the middle of a fever just because your biology is screaming for a knot."
"It's... It's just Eijirou..." Katsuki choked out, a fresh wave of helpless tears spilling over his eyelashes, his voice muffled against Touya's collarbone. "I trust him..." Touya nodded. "And because you trust him, we do this the right way," Touya answered, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to the crown of Katsuki’s head.
"He’s an honorable boy. He wouldn't want to claim you while you're too out of it to think straight, and you deserve a proper courtship before you let an Alpha into your heat nest. When the time comes, it'll be because you chose it with a clear head. Not like this."
Out in the dim corridor, Tomura's strong silhouette stood just past the doorway. The League leader kept a respectful, disciplined distance, his crimson eyes vigilant, his broad Alpha presence acting as a solid, impenetrable wall at the threshold to ensure no outsider could ever breach the sanctuary while their pup was bare and vulnerable.
Katsuki’s trembling slowly began to lessen beneath Touya’s unmoving embrace. The frantic demand for an Alpha quieted into soft, exhausted sniffles as the cool cloth and Touya's steady scent worked to dull the sharpest edges of the cramp.
"Mama's right here," Touya whispered, pulling the heavy quilts up over Katsuki’s shoulders and rocking him slowly against the rhythm of the falling rain. "Dad is guarding the door. You're safe in your nest, pup. Just close your eyes and sleep."
Curled tightly against the only parent who truly understood the weight of the fever, Katsuki finally let his heavy eyelids drop, safe in the fortress built to protect him.
The common room of Heights Alliance was dimly lit, the low hum of the television muted while the lingering tension of the Endeavor Agency patrols hung heavy over the space.
With Shouto and Midoriya completely drained from keeping pace with the Number One Hero, the dorms felt more like a field hospital than student housing. Katsuki stepped past the kitchen entryway, unzipping his dark shearling coat and hanging it over the back of an armchair with practiced ease.
Across the rug, Shouto sat cross-legged near the coffee table, ice packs strapped tightly across both shoulders, his mismatched eyes clouded with the brutal exhaustion of continuous flashfire drills. Midoriya was slumped on the floor beside him, icing bruised knuckles and mumbling through a half-filled notebook.
"You look like you fell off a cliff, half-n-half," Katsuki said, his voice quiet, calm, and laced with dry amusement as he walked over. Shoto glanced up, the rigid tension in his shoulders dropping slightly at the sight of the blond healer.
"Endeavor's pace doesn't leave room for breaks." He said. Katsuki knelt down on the rug beside him. Reaching into his pocket, he produced a small, neatly wrapped ceramic jar, placing it directly into Shouto’s lap. "Mama sent it," Katsuki murmured, his sweet burnt-caramel scent softening the heavy, sterile smell of the room.
"Herbal salve for heat rash and tissue strain. He uses it whenever his own skin starts blistering from high fire output. Put it on before you pass out tonight." Shouto looked down at the jar, his fingers brushing over the hand-tied twine. The sharp, guarded look in his eyes completely dissolved into quiet, profound gratitude.
"Touya made this?" Shouto asked softly. "Yeah. Said if you let the old bastard cook your lungs, he's coming down here to smack you himself." A faint, rare smile curved Shoto's lips. "Tell him I'm managing. And... Thank you, Katsuki."
"Don't mention it." Katsuki stood up, brushing off his knees just as Kirishima stepped out from the hallway carrying two mugs of warm barley tea.
Kirishima offered one to Shoto before nodding toward the stairs, his crimson eyes glowing with gentle, protective warmth. "Come on. Let's get you away from the draft down here."
Up on the second floor, Kirishima’s room was warm and quiet, the thick red curtains drawn tight against the winter wind rattling the glass. The bed was layered with extra fleece and the thick, un-dyed wool blanket Kirishima had brought back from the mountain villa weeks ago.
The two of them climbed in, the scent of sun-baked cedar immediately wrapping around Katsuki like an iron shield. Katsuki curled comfortably on his side, letting his head rest against Kirishima’s chest, his fingers loosely hooked into the sleeve of Kirishima's soft crimson hoodie.
Kirishima’s sturdy arm settled around Katsuki’s waist, pulling him close, his heartbeat a steady, rhythmic cadence under Katsuki's cheek. "The commission is mobilizing a lot of agencies," Kirishima whispered into the quiet dark, resting his chin gently atop Katsuki’s messy blond hair.
"Things are getting tense out there, Katsuki. But knowing you're safe up in the mountains... It makes it easier to keep standing my ground."
Katsuki tilted his chin up just enough to meet Kirishima’s gaze in the amber glow of the desk lamp. He reached up, his thumb lightly brushing over the small scar beneath Kirishima's eye.
"You don't need to worry about me, Eijirou," Katsuki said softly, his voice full of steady, unyielding faith. "Do what you have to do down here. Dad and Mama have the mountain locked down. When your drills are done, you're coming back home to the den. Understand?"
Kirishima’s chest swelled with a breathless, overwhelming warmth. He smiled, leaning down to press a tender, lingering kiss to Katsuki’s temple. "Understood." Kirishima murmured against his hair, pulling him deeper into the blankets.
Pale morning light filtered through the crimson curtains, painting the second-floor dorm room in a soft, warm glow.
Kirishima woke to the steady rise and fall of Katsuki’s chest beneath his arm. The blond was still deep in sleep, his sharp features softened into total ease, his face buried comfortably into Kirishima’s shoulder.
Under the heavy wool throw, their fingers were loosely tangled together over the fleece. When Katsuki finally stirred, blinking against the dawn with a quiet, disgruntled huff, he didn't pull away, he simply squeezed Kirishima’s hand, rubbing the sleep from his eyes with his free palm before letting out a long stretch.
By the time they descended the stairs to the common room for breakfast, the dorm was already humming with activity. Katsuki walked beside Kirishima, their hands still linked between them in natural, unthinking habit. The sweet, rich scent of burnt caramel mingled effortlessly with warm, sun-baked cedar, soft and completely unbothered.
Mina, who was pouring milk at the kitchen island, froze mid-tilt. Her yellow sclera blew wide, a devious, squealing grin spreading across her face as she nudged Sero violently with her elbow.
"Look at that," Sero whispered loudly, choking back a laugh behind a piece of buttered toast. "The mountain wolf has officially been domesticated."
"Domesticated? He’s practically glued to him!" Kaminari crowed from the kitchen table, slamming both hands down on the wood with an exaggerated, dramatic swoon. "Look at the grip! Kirishima, did you use hardening on your knuckles just so he couldn't escape?"
"Guys, knock it off," Kirishima groaned, his entire face flushing a brilliant scarlet that matched his hair, though his broad hand didn't let go of Katsuki's for a single second.
Katsuki didn't flinch. He narrowed his red eyes at the pair, his grip on Kirishima's fingers tightening in deliberate defiance as a smirk touched his lips. "Keep flapping your gums, spark-plug. I’ll make sure the breakfast rice is laced with ghost peppers next time I make breakfast."
"He’s protecting him! It’s true love!" Mina cheered, practically bouncing on her toes while Jirou snickered into her coffee mug and even Shouto offered a faint, approving nod from the sofa.
A week later, the lingering warmth of the dorms was shattered by a chilling, unnatural silence that settled over the secluded mountain villa.
The forest birds had ceased their calls. The wind through the ancient pines died completely, leaving the air heavy, dense, and suffocating with the foul, oily stench of raw, parasitic malice.
Out in the dirt courtyard, the shadows lengthened unnaturally.
A warping pool of black liquid mud bubbled up from the earth, and from within its murky depths stepped All For One. Dressed in an impeccable dark suit, his ruined, scarred face turned toward the timber house with horrific, paternal affection.
Before the tyrant could take a single step forward, the front doors were shattered from their tracks. Tomura stepped onto the packed earth, his lean frame corded with lethal tension, his crimson eyes burning with absolute, volcanic fury.
Behind him, Touya materialized, blue flames igniting across his knuckles with a vicious roar, his turquoise gaze locked onto the monster who had pulled them from the gutter only to build a pyre. And behind him, inside the darkened threshold of the den, Katsuki stood with a combat blade drawn, his sweet caramel scent spiked with fierce, protective resolve.
"Tomura," All For One spoke, his voice smooth, resonant, and dripping with venomous warmth. "You have played in the woods long enough. The heroes mobilize thousands at this very hour. The Paranormal Liberation Front requires its symbol. It is time to shed these domestic illusions, return to my side, and take the throne I built for you." The ancient villain reached out an open hand, expecting obedience.
Tomura let out a low, rasping chuckle that scraped through the courtyard like rusted iron. He didn't take a step forward; he lowered his stance, both hands loose, fingers twitching with terrifying, unbridled power.
"You really don't get it, do you, old man?" Tomura rasped, his voice dropping into a guttural, sovereign growl that made the very dirt shudder beneath their boots. "You didn't save me. You gave me a collar and called it my destiny. You wanted a vessel. You wanted a corpse to wear."
Tomura pointed a single, unyielding finger toward the timber house behind him.
"I have a pack," Tomura snarled, the raw authority of an unchained Alpha rolling off him in suffocating waves. "I have a mate. I have a pup, who can sleep through the night because I built a wall between him and monsters, like you. I am not your pawn, and I am not your symbol. Step one foot closer to my den, and I will decay you into nothing but memory."
Touya took half a step up beside his mate, azure fire roaring higher, illuminating his staple-free scars in blinding blue brilliance. "You heard the boss. Get the hell off our mountain."
All For One’s smile vanished, the mask of paternal patience cracking into cold, abyssal wrath as the true war for the future ignited on the villa's doorstep.
The silence of the mountain broke in a deafening sonic rupture. All For One’s silhouette blurred, his arm swelling into a grotesque fusion of spring-coiled bone, riveted armor, and heavy black muscle. The air pressure violently inverted as an air cannon erupted from his palm, carving a six-foot trench through the dirt straight toward the front porch.
"Touya!" Tomura roared. Touya didn't wait. He swept both arms in a wide, violent arc, unleashing a roaring wall of cobalt blue flame that met the shockwave dead center. The clash produced a thunderous explosion of superheated vapor, splintering the courtyard fence and showering the timber eaves in sparks.
Through the swirling wall of smoke, All For One surged, black tendrils erupting from his fingers like barbed steel spears, aimed straight at Touya’s throat. Tomura intercepted him.
Moving with blinding, terrifying speed, the Alpha ducked beneath the whipping tendrils, driving five bare fingers straight down into the dirt beneath All For One’s polished dress shoes.
The earth didn't just crack, it dissolved. A spiderweb of pure decay ripped outward in a violent radial burst, turning the stone foundation, the dirt path, and the advancing black tendrils into a cascade of grey, disintegrating powder.
All For One was forced to activate an anti-gravity vector, floating upward just inches above the collapsing ground, his scarred face twisting with genuine contempt.
"You waste the power I cultivated for you on a hovel!" All For One spat, condensing an emerald orb of pressurized kinetic force between his hands. "You were meant to dismantle this world, not rot away in its quiet corners!"
"I dismantled you the day I chose my family!" Tomura rasped, vaulting off a collapsing boulder, his crimson eyes burning with unyielding, feral fury.
From the shadow of the doorway, Katsuki watched the titan fall. His hands gripped the hilt of his blade, his heart hammering against his ribs, but there was no trembling panic. The phantom chill of Chisaki’s operating table was gone. His sweet burnt-caramel scent didn't curdle; it flared fierce, bold, and blazing hot, reinforcing the invisible circle of the pack.
He didn't stay on the porch. Recognizing the flank vector, Katsuki sprinted along the veranda railing, cutting through the side yard just as two high-grade Nomu, warped in from the shadows by All For One's secondary gate, lunged toward the weak point in the villa's foundations.
Katsuki hit the ground with low, predatory grace. He didn't have explosive firepower, but his reflexes were razor-sharp, honed by months of brutal mountain drills and the disciplined training of the pack.
He slipped beneath the first Nomu's swinging arm, his utility blade slicing the nerve cluster behind its knee. As the beast collapsed forward, Katsuki pivoted on his heel, driving a lethal upward strike with the reinforced steel pommel directly into the exposed sensory organ on its temple, dropping it hard onto the dirt.
"Behind you, pup!" Touya’s voice cut through the roaring wind. A flash of azure fire swept over Katsuki’s head, incinerating the second beast mid-lunge before it could even strike. Katsuki rolled back to Touya’s flank, back-to-back with the older Omega.
"Nice sweep," Touya panted, smoke curling from his lips, his turquoise eyes blazing with fierce maternal pride. "Keep your breathing steady."
"Always," Katsuki ground out, resetting his grip.
In the center of the yard, the final clash peaked. Tomura lunged through the storm of kinetic blasts, ignoring the searing burns tearing through the fabric of his dark shirt. He caught All For One’s extended wrist with four fingers, slamming his palm flat against the joint.
For half a second, All For One tried to activate an expulsion quirk, but Tomura’s fifth finger snapped down like an iron lock. The decaying rot caught the ancient villain's forearm instantly.
Bone, sinew, and synthetic fiber crumbled to grey ash. All For One howled, severing his own limb with an emergency spatial distortion to stop the necrosis before it devoured his chest, stumbling backward into the bubbling mud of his warp gate.
"You have doomed yourself, Tomura," the shattered tyrant wheezed, his voice distorting as the black sludge began to swallow him whole. "The heroes will never accept you. When the dust settles, they will hunt you to the ends of the earth."
Tomura stood tall amid the smoldering ash of his courtyard, his chest heaving, his crimson eyes gleaming with cold, absolute triumph.
"Let them try," Tomura rasped, stepping forward and crushing the last lingering black tendril beneath his boot. "We don't live in their world. And we don't belong to yours."
The sludge vanished with a dull, wet pop, leaving only the sound of rain beginning to hiss against Touya’s cooling flames. The courtyard fell into breathless stillness.
Tomura exhaled a long, gravelly breath, turning slowly to face the porch. Touya was already moving, closing the distance to check the burns along Tomura's arms with gentle, trembling fingers. Katsuki lowered his blade, walking out into the clearing, the tension in his shoulders finally dropping away.
Tomura looked down at the boy, his crimson gaze softening as he raised a large, soot-stained hand, resting it heavy and grounding atop Katsuki’s blond hair, keeping his pinky hooked safely in the cool air.
"You held the line, brat," Tomura rasped, a faint, rare smile breaking through the dirt on his face.
Katsuki leaned into the touch, his sweet burnt-caramel scent blooming rich, unbroken, and completely safe, knowing that the mountain had held its ground, and so had they.
The hiss of steam rising from the charred courtyard had barely settled when Touya retrieved the heavy satellite phone from the tactical lockbox.
Leaning his back against the splintered timber of the veranda, his fingertips still glowing with faint embers, Touya dialed the encrypted direct frequency. Aizawa answered on the very first buzz.
"Eraser," Touya said, his voice flat, raspy, slightly out of breath and stripped of all teasing warmth. "He came here."
A sharp pause echoed over the line, followed by the muffled rustle of capture gear and the heavy slam of a command trailer door. "All For One?"
"Walked straight into our front yard using a sludge warp," Touya reported, his turquoise eyes tracking the grey smear of disintegrated soil where the tyrant’s arm had crumbled. "Tried to pull Tomura back as his figurehead for the Paranormal Liberation Front. Tomura took his right arm off with Decay and sent him packing through his secondary gate. He's cornered, down a limb, and falling back on whatever contingency hives he has left in Shizuoka and Gunga Mountain. Mobilize your raid teams now, while he’s leaking quirks to stay alive."
Aizawa’s breath hitched, the gravitas of the intelligence hitting with seismic weight. "What about your perimeter? Katsuki?"
"We held the line. The pup dropped a Nomu on his own and the den is intact," Touya replied, a subtle edge of fierce maternal pride softening his tone for half a second. "Tomura is locking down the mountain pass right now. Tell your Commission dogs to do their jobs and end him."
"Understood," Aizawa said, his tone grim and resolute. "Stay fortified. I'm taking this directly to the high command."
Inside the master villa, Tomura worked with swift, ruthless efficiency. He didn't waste a second lingering on the shock of the encounter. Striding down the dim corridors, he barked concise orders through the secure radio.
Compress and Spinner were tasked with reinforcing the underground escape routes; Twice was positioned at the high ridge to blanket the cliffs with lookout doubles; and every secondary perimeter seal was primed for manual detonation.
Tomura then walked into the strategy den where Katsuki was cleaning the pommel of his blade. The Alpha didn't say a word. He stepped up, gripped Katsuki by the back of the neck with four solid, grounding fingers, and pulled him into a brief, ironclad embrace that drove the last lingering tremors of adrenaline clean out of the teenager's chest. "Nobody crosses that tree line," Tomura rasped low into the boy's hair. "We hold our ground."
Down at the National Joint Operations Command, Aizawa walked into the central war room, where the senior leadership, Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, and Nedzu, were finalizing the siege plans against the Paranormal Liberation Front.
Aizawa threw the tactical slate onto the central holotable. "The League’s rogue faction just intercepted All For One at an undisclosed location," Aizawa announced, his voice cutting through the chatter of communications officers like a scythe. "Shigaraki severed his right arm with Decay. The symbol of terror is crippled, destabilized, and operating from a defensive bunker near Gunga Mountain. If we launch the coordinated assault at dawn, we catch them fragmented."
The room erupted into a flurry of hurried adjustments, the hero task forces realizing the tide had just swung definitively in their favor. Endeavor ignited his beard in a roaring blaze of crimson determination, while Hawks swept the map to reroute the vanguard squadrons.
At sunrise, the true war erupted across two massive fronts.
At the Gunga Mountain ruins and the Jaku Hospital perimeter, the Pro Heroes struck with total, overwhelming force. Without Tomura to act as the horrific engine of destruction, the Paranormal Liberation Front lacked its supreme commander.
Class 2-A held the front line with unbreakable discipline. Kirishima fought like a demon at the vanguard, his hardened arms shattering defensive barriers and deflecting heavy artillery, driven by the absolute, unshakeable vow to survive and return to the boy waiting in the pines. Beside him, Shouto and Midoriya unleashed catastrophic waves of ice and pressurized wind, systematically dismantling the high-grade Nomu units.
Deprived of his intended vessel and hemorrhaging cellular stability from Tomura’s decay, All For One was trapped in an open war of attrition. Endeavor and Hawks spearheaded the aerial offensive, raining relentless flashfire and feather volleys onto the tyrant’s position, driving him into the ground until the ancient villain was finally overwhelmed, shattered, and permanently subdued under the combined might of the hero vanguard.
By dusk, the sirens fell silent across Japan. The Paranormal Liberation Front had collapsed, their leaders were in chains, and the threat that had loomed over the country for a century was finally broken.
Miles away, atop the peaceful peak of the secluded mountain, the smoke never reached the sky. Katsuki sat on the veranda steps, his dark shearling coat wrapped around his shoulders, watching the evening stars prick through the indigo canopy. Touya sat beside him with a warm kettle of tea, his arm draped comfortably over Katsuki's back, while Tomura stood vigilant at the perimeter rail, the Alpha’s sharp gaze sweeping the dark valley below.
The satellite phone on the bench buzzed once.
Katsuki grabbed it, his heart skipping a beat as a single message from Eijirou flashed across the screen.
Eijirou❤️
It's over, Katsuki. We won. I'm safe. Coming home to you as soon as the transport clears.
A soft, breathless laugh escaped Katsuki’s lips, tears of sheer, triumphant relief catching the starlight on his cheeks. He leaned into Touya’s shoulder, the sweet, pure warmth of burnt caramel blooming into the mountain night, knowing that the world outside was finally still, and their sanctuary was unbroken.
The dust from the national conflict had finally begun to settle over the prefectures, leaving behind an eerie, quiet stillness across the country.
Up on the mountain, the late-afternoon sun filtered through the high pine canopy in long slants of warm amber, warming the scorched earth of the repaired courtyard.
Katsuki stood near the edge of the timber veranda, his hands tucked inside the sleeves of a dark knit sweater. The waiting had been agony.
For three days following the collapse of the Liberation Front, transport lines had been choked with medical convoys and security sweeps, leaving Katsuki pacing the corridors with his sweet caramel scent restless and thin with worry.
Then, from far down the gravel path beyond the cedar boundary post, the faint, steady crunch of heavy boots broke the silence of the woods.
Katsuki froze.
Emerging from the shadow of the tall pines was Kirishima. He looked exhausted, a strip of sterile white gauze taped over his left cheek and dark smudges of fatigue under his eyes, his dark hero-course duffel slung loose over one shoulder. But the moment his crimson eyes lifted and locked onto the porch, his entire face illuminated with pure, unyielding light.
Katsuki didn't wait for him to reach the gate.
Breaking into a dead sprint, Katsuki vaulted down the three stone steps, his boots tearing across the dirt path. He crossed the courtyard in seconds, launching himself straight at the red-haired boy the moment he cleared the outer marker.
"Eijirou!" Kirishima let the duffel drop into the gravel with a heavy thud, throwing his arms wide just in time to catch Katsuki mid-stride. The sheer force of the collision knocked Kirishima back half a pace, his sturdy arms wrapping around Katsuki's waist like bands of iron and lifting him clean off the ground.
Katsuki buried his face into the crook of Kirishima’s neck, his fingers twisting desperately into the thick fabric of Kirishima’s crimson jacket. A ragged, shuddering breath tore from Katsuki’s chest, the phantom dread of the past week washing away entirely beneath the overwhelming, solid flood of sun-baked cedar.
"You're here," Katsuki choked out, his voice cracked with raw, breathless emotion. "You're actually here."
"I promised you, didn't I?" Kirishima whispered fiercely against his hair, his voice thick with tears, his broad chest heaving as he held the boy as if he would never let go. "I told you I was coming back."
Katsuki pulled back just enough to frame Kirishima’s face between his hands. His red eyes were bright, brimming with unshed tears that spilled freely down his flushed cheeks. He didn't hesitate, didn't hold back behind sharp words or guarded boundaries.
Katsuki pulled Kirishima down, crashing their lips together in a fierce, passionate kiss.
Kirishima let out a low, breathless gasp into Katsuki’s mouth before melting entirely into the embrace. His hands slid up Katsuki's back, pressing the boy flush against his chest, locking them together under the whispering pines. The kiss was deep, demanding, and full of the desperate hunger born of surviving a war, a reckless, beautiful confirmation of life, safety, and belonging.
Katsuki’s fingers tangled into the soft crimson tufts of Kirishima’s hair, kissing him with everything he had, while Kirishima poured all his devotion, reverence, and relief into every shared breath.
Up on the timber porch, the heavy screen panel slid back without a sound. Tomura stepped out, dressed in his dark lounging clothes, his hands resting loose in his pockets. He halted at the railing, his sharp crimson eyes catching the sight of the two boys locked together in the dirt path.
Beside him, the floorboards whispered as Touya walked up, a steaming ceramic mug cradled in his scarred palms. Touya’s turquoise eyes softened into a warm, fond squint as he took in the desperate, tangled embrace at the edge of the yard.
The cloying, anxious edge that had tainted Katsuki’s scent for days was completely gone, replaced by a rich, radiant flood of sweet burnt caramel and cedar that filled the mountain air like a sanctuary.
Touya leaned his shoulder gently against Tomura’s arm, a soft, genuine smile touching his lips. "Look at them," Touya murmured, his voice low, raspy, and thoroughly content. "I think your rules about curfews and boundaries just went straight out the window, Dad."
Tomura exhaled a slow, gravelly breath through his nose. He didn't scowl, and the lethal, territorial Alpha aura he usually wielded remained dormant, peaceful beneath his skin.
A faint, almost imperceptible twitch of a smirk touched the corner of his mouth as he watched their pup hold the boy he had chosen. "He earned it," Tomura rasped quietly.
Down on the path, Katsuki finally broke the kiss, his forehead resting against Kirishima’s, both of them breathing in ragged, dizzying gasps as their shared warmth hung like mist in the cool mountain breeze.
Kirishima was crying openly now, smiling that brilliant, jagged-toothed smile that lit up the entire world, his thumb gently smoothing away the tear tracks from Katsuki’s glowing cheeks.
"Welcome home, Eijirou," Katsuki whispered.
"I'm home," Kirishima answered, pulling him in for another soft, lingering press of their lips, completely anchored in the peace they had bled to protect.
The remainder of Class 2-A’s second year slipped past with the steady, quiet rhythm of reconstruction.
The seasons turned gracefully over the mountain sanctuary. Spring melted into high summer, bringing long weekend visits where Kirishima helped Touya tend the vegetable beds behind the villa, his laughter ringing across the courtyard while Tomura lounged on the shaded veranda, keeping watch with half-lidded eyes.
By the time autumn winds stripped the pines and winter settled once more, the UA students had earned their provisional upgrade credits, moving into their third and final year as the seniors of the hero course.
When spring came again, the massive roar of a packed stadium signaled the arrival of the UA Sports Festival, the first full-scale, unshadowed festival held since the fall of All For One.
Up in a private, high-tier observation booth reserved through Nedzu’s discreet arrangements, the atmosphere was peaceful. Katsuki sat leaning against the railing, clad in a sleek black windbreaker, watching the sunlight bounce off the vibrant dirt arena below. Touya stood at his flank, a pair of dark shades pushed up into his pale hair, while Tomura sat back in an armchair with an iced drink, four fingers resting loosely around the glass.
The third-year bracket had been an absolute spectacle of honed precision and veteran mastery. Free from the stifling ghosts of his lineage and bolstered by years of self-possession, Shouto moved through the tournament ring like an elemental sovereign.
In the semifinal clash, he faced Midoriya in a breathless, earth-shaking duel of compressed air blasts and freezing ramparts. Rather than relying on brute force, Shouto used pinpoint thermal manipulation to counter Midoriya’s Full Cowl vectors, slipping past the green lightning to freeze the boy’s lead footing and cleanly skate him past the boundary line.
Midoriya tumbled onto the grass, coughing through the frost, but bounced right back up with a brilliant, bruised grin, raising his hand in respectful defeat to take third place.
The final match pitted Shouto against Uraraka, who had carved a relentless, tactical path through the brackets with lethal Gunhead martial arts, high-speed grapples, and zero-gravity feints. The clash was fierce and acrobatic.
Uraraka launched a barrage of zero-gravity concrete debris to bypass the ice, closing the distance to grapple for a ring-out. Shouto, however, anticipated the drop, pivoting on the heel of his boot and igniting a swirling spiral of low-intensity, non-lethal flashfire that created an impassable updraft.
The superheated air current lifted Uraraka off balance, carrying her over the white perimeter line just before Shouto caught her with a platform of ice to cushion her landing on the turf.
The buzzer echoed across the stadium, and Midnight’s whip cracked through the deafening cheers of fifty thousand spectators. "And with that magnificent tactical display, the third-year champion is decided!" Present Mic’s voice boomed through the stadium speakers, rattling the glass of the press booths.
"In third place, the verdant powerhouse, Midoriya Izuku! In second place, the gravity-defying martial artist, Uraraka Ochaco! And standing undisputed at the pinnacle... Todoroki Shouto takes first!"
Down on the podium, confetti rained down in bronze, silver and gold ribbons. Shouto stood on the top tier with the gold medal resting against his chest, his mismatched eyes sweeping past the flashing cameras until they locked directly onto the private glass booth high above the southern stands. Shouto raised his right hand, giving a small, distinct two-finger salute straight toward Touya and Katsuki.
Up in the booth, Touya let out a soft, breathy chuckle, leaning over the glass railing with a fond, crooked grin. "Look at the little half-n-half bastard. Actually took the gold."
"Told you he would," Katsuki muttered, though his red eyes sparkled with fierce pride as his sweet burnt-caramel scent curled warm into the room.
Down on the field, the ceremony concluded, and the third-year students were given clearance to meet with their guests in the shaded family terrace behind the locker rooms.
The moment Katsuki stepped through the glass doors onto the courtyard patio, Eijirou was already there. He had bowed out in the quarterfinals after a brutal, bone-jarring endurance clash against Iida, but there wasn't an ounce of disappointment in his posture.
His dark red gym jersey was dusted with field dirt, his knuckles taped, and the sun caught the radiant, jagged-toothed grin lighting up his entire face.
"Katsuki!" Kirishima called out, jogging across the grass and completely bypassing the formalities of the surrounding crowd.
Katsuki took two quick strides forward, meeting him halfway. Kirishima’s sturdy arms wrapped tight around Katsuki’s waist, hauling the blond against his broad chest in an unhurried, breathless hug that smelled of iron, warm sweat, and comforting sun-baked cedar.
"You did good out there, hair-dye," Katsuki murmured into Kirishima's collarbone, his hands resting firm against Kirishima's sturdy shoulders. "Your defense on the flank was solid."
"I missed you," Kirishima breathed against Katsuki’s hair, unbothered by the nearby classmates or the camera drones buzzing high overhead. He pulled back just an inch, his crimson eyes glowing with raw, bottomless tenderness. "Did you see Shouto? The guy was untouchable today."
"Saw the whole thing," Katsuki smirked, tilting his chin upward, completely unashamed as he pressed a firm, lingering kiss to the corner of Kirishima’s smiling mouth. "Now go wash that dirt off before we head back to the mountain. Mama’s making a feast tonight, and you’re carrying the watermelon."
"Yes, sir," Kirishima laughed, stealing another quick, sweet press of their lips before letting Katsuki’s hand slip gently through his fingers, the future stretching out before them bright, open, and utterly free.
The late-afternoon sun cast long, golden shadows across the campus grounds as the roaring crowds of the Sports Festival finally dispersed.
Near the secluded rear exit behind the stadium bleachers, Tomura tossed his empty paper cup into a bin, his dark sunglasses hooked into the collar of his shirt. Beside him, Touya adjusted the strap of his light jacket, watching Katsuki stand a few yards away, surrounded by the laughing, chatter-filled circle of Class 3-A.
"We're heading back, pup," Touya called out, his voice carrying an easy, fond rasp over the gravel. "Gotta get the coals going for the skewers before the butcher down the hill closes. Don't let these hero brats keep you out past curfew, or I'm sending your Dad down."
"I'm not five years old, Mama," Katsuki replied, tossing a smirk over his shoulder, though the sweet warmth of his burnt-caramel scent curled soft in the breeze.
Tomura stepped forward, catching Katsuki by the scruff of his jacket with four firm fingers, giving him a gentle, grounding shake before letting go. "Mind your manners with the rat principal. And make sure the red one carries your bag."
"Got it, Dad," Katsuki muttered, his cheeks tinting pink, but his eyes were bright and steady.
With a low, gravelly hum of approval and a final wave from Touya, the two older villains turned down the quiet perimeter trail, heading toward where they parked and leaving Katsuki to the warmth of the campus.
By twilight, the festive buzz had migrated directly into the Heights Alliance dorms.
Banners hung loosely from the mezzanine railings, platters of fried chicken and cold soba cluttered the kitchen counters, and the lounge was crammed with cushions, tired hero students, and the quiet satisfaction of third-years who had survived every trial thrown their way.
Kirishima sat on the floor rug with his back resting against Katsuki's knees, one warm, calloused hand reaching back to loosely clasp Katsuki’s ankle as the blond sat behind him on the sofa.
Near the corner of the common area, Jirou adjusted the strap of an acoustic guitar, sitting perched on a wooden stool beside a small amplifier. Kaminari and Mina were sitting cross-legged in the center of the rug, hushing the room with theatrical hand gestures as the overhead lamps were dimmed to a soft amber glow.
Jirou plugged in the cable, testing the low strings with a resonant, reverberating strum. She looked up, her dark eyes scanning the tired, contented faces of her classmates before drifting over to Katsuki.
"Hey," Jirou said, her voice quiet and low through the small microphone, a faint, genuine smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. "Most of us had our turn on the field today, showing off and fighting for the podium. But... This next one isn't for a ranking or a hero agency."
She adjusted the capo on the third fret, her gaze locking onto Katsuki with clear, unspoken reverence.
"It's for someone who held the backline when everything was falling apart. The person who kept our friend steady, who showed us what real quiet strength looks like, and who always has a place at our table. This is for you, Katsuki."
A sudden, breathless hush fell over the room.
Katsuki froze, his breath catching in his throat as the tips of his ears flushed a brilliant, radiant red. Before he could blurt out a defensive retort, Jirou’s fingers swept over the strings, pulling out a rich, melancholic, and deeply uplifting melody that filled the timber frames of the dorm.
Her voice rose into the quiet, clear, smoky, and brimming with profound soul. It wasn't the roaring rock anthem of the school festival; it was an intimate, steady ballad about weathering long winters, finding shelter in unexpected hands, and watching the embers of a broken past turn into a hearth that keeps you warm.
Kirishima turned his head slightly, looking up at Katsuki with eyes full of bottomless, unhidden devotion. He reached up, his broad palm gently covering Katsuki’s hand on the sofa cushion, intertwining their fingers and squeezing tight.
Katsuki didn't pull away. He swallowed hard against the tight lump in his throat, listening to the music settle over his skin like a soft, impenetrable blanket. Around him, Shouto was watching with a faint, peaceful smile, Midoriya was blinking back misty eyes, and the room felt entirely whole.
As Jirou held the final, echoing chord, the lounge erupted into soft applause and cheers. Katsuki looked down at Eijirou, feeling the steady, sun-baked cedar pulse against his palm, and let out a quiet, trembling breath of sheer belonging, knowing that the boy, the music, and this life were finally his to keep.
The mountain afternoon was quiet, filled only with the soft rustle of summer cedar needles and the distant chime of the temple bell down the valley.
They were sitting side by side on the polished timber of the villa’s back veranda, their legs dangling over the smooth stone drop. The pack was out, Tomura had dragged Touya down to the regional trading market to barter for winter timber supplies, leaving the mountain sanctuary in rare, uninterrupted stillness.
Kirishima had been uncharacteristically fidgety for the past hour. He sat with his broad shoulders slightly hunched, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his dark cargo trousers, his gaze darting repeatedly toward the quiet garden courtyard.
"If you don't stop shifting around, I'm kicking you into the dirt," Katsuki muttered, though his tone was lazy and fond. He leaned his shoulder casually against Kirishima’s arm, the sweet, rich scent of his burnt caramel completely relaxed in the sun. "What's eating at you, hair-dye?"
Kirishima let out a long, shuddering breath that made his chest heave. A deep, vivid crimson flooded his cheeks, rushing straight to the tips of his pointed ears.
"I have something for you," Kirishima whispered, his voice dropping into a thick, earnest register that immediately made Katsuki’s posture straighten.
Kirishima reached into his jacket pocket with slow, deliberate care, pulling out a small, rectangular wooden box. It wasn't commercial store packaging; it was hand-carved from solid mountain cedar, polished smooth to a satin finish and bound with a neat, un-dyed hemp cord.
He didn't thrust it forward. He held it in both palms, offering it with the solemn, reverent discipline of an Alpha presenting the final piece of his intentions.
"You took my blankets into your nest," Kirishima began, his crimson eyes locking onto Katsuki’s with an intensity that made the air feel suddenly warm and still. "You let me kiss you under the lanterns, and you let me hold you when you were hurting. You've given me every chance to prove I'm here for the long run. So... I made this. For the end of our courtship."
Katsuki’s breath hitched. His fingers trembled slightly as he reached out, his calloused fingertips brushing against Kirishima’s warm palms as he took the wooden case.
He slid the hemp cord off, carefully lifting the cedar lid. Nestled inside on a bed of dark wool was a heavy, hand-forged neck torc. The band was crafted from hammered, brushed titanium, indestructible, dark slate-grey, and shaped with a slight, elegant curvature to rest flush against the hollow of a throat. Inlaid across the front curve was a seam of raw crimson garnet, polished until it glowed like a burning ember, framed on either side by delicate carved grooves that mirrored the protective ridge pattern of Kirishima's hardened quirk.
It was an Omega's courting torc, but forged as an impenetrable piece of armor. A promise of complete protection, equal partnership, and unyielding devotion. "I asked the support course folks to help me temper the metal, but I forged the band and set the stone myself," Kirishima said softly, his voice trembling with quiet emotion. "It’s sized so it won't pinch, but... It's meant to sit over your scent gland. A sign that you're claimed, safe, and that whoever wants to touch you has to go through me first. If... If you'll have it."
Katsuki stared down at the gleaming metal. His chest tightened, a burning ache rising in his throat that had nothing to do with fear and everything to do with the overwhelming, terrifying beauty of being so thoroughly cherished.
Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes, blurring the crimson stone. He didn't say a word. He lifted the cool, heavy metal from the wool, turned his back to Kirishima, and swept his ash-blond hair up off the nape of his neck, completely baring the pale, vulnerable curve of his neck.
Kirishima’s breath caught in his chest. His hands shook with profound reverence as he took the open ends of the torc. With gentle, feather-light care, he guided the metal around Katsuki’s neck, letting it settle firmly and securely against the warm skin right above his scent gland.
The titanium warmed instantly against Katsuki’s pulse, feeling not like a collar, but like an unbreakable shield.
Katsuki turned back around, his face fiercely flushed, unshed tears shimmering in his sharp red eyes. He reached up, resting his fingers over the smooth garnet inlay, feeling the steady thrum of his own heart beating beneath it.
"It's heavy," Katsuki choked out, a fierce, breathless smirk breaking through the wetness on his eyelashes. "Looks ridiculous on me."
"It looks... Incredible," Kirishima breathed, his entire face illuminating with pure, brilliant joy. He reached forward, his large, warm hands gently framing Katsuki’s jaw, his thumbs wiping away the single tear that slipped down the boy’s cheek. "It looks like you."
Katsuki grabbed the front of Kirishima’s shirt, hauling the red-haired boy down into a deep, desperate, bruising kiss. Kirishima let out a low, muffled groan into the embrace, his sturdy arms wrapping around Katsuki’s waist, pulling him flush against his chest as the rich scents of burnt caramel and sun-baked cedar melded into a singular, impenetrable tide.
When they finally broke apart, resting their foreheads together in the warm afternoon breeze, Kirishima kept his hands resting steady on Katsuki’s hips.
"Now that the courtship is settled..." Kirishima murmured, his voice soft, nervous, but full of eager light. "I want you to come home with me, this weekend. To Chiba." Katsuki blinked, his breath still ragged. "To your house?"
"Yeah," Kirishima smiled, a shy, tender flush spreading across the bridge of his nose. "I want you to meet my moms. Both of them have been dying to see the boy who stole my entire heart."
Katsuki looked at the earnest, unwavering devotion shining in Kirishima’s crimson gaze, his fingers tightening once more over the heavy titanium around his neck. "All right," Katsuki whispered, leaning in to brush his lips against the small scar beneath Kirishima's eye. "Let's go meet your moms."
The coastal train to Chiba rumbled along the shoreline, salt air whispering through the vent seals as the urban sprawl gave way to quiet residential lanes lined with hydrangea bushes and low garden walls.
Kirishima’s childhood home was a sunlit, two-story wooden house with wind chimes softly clinking beneath the roof tiles. By the front gate, Katsuki’s steps slowed. His fingers drifted up out of pure habit, resting over the cool titanium curve of the courting torc settled against his throat. The garnet was warm from his pulse, but his scent had tightened, the rich burnt-caramel carrying a faint, nervous tang of raw sugar.
"Hey," Kirishima murmured softly, stopping beside the stone and steel mailbox. He reached out, his broad, warm hand catching Katsuki’s with an easy, grounding squeeze. "They already love you, Katsuki. I promise."
Katsuki clicked his tongue, though he didn't pull his hand away. "I’m not scared of two middle-aged ladies, hair-dye."
"Never said you were," Kirishima grinned, leaning down to bump his forehead gently against Katsuki’s temple before sliding open the wooden front door. "We're home!"
The entryway instantly smelled of toasted sesame oil, simmering dashi, and sea salt.
Before their boots even touched the lower step, hurried footsteps echoed down the polished timber floor.
Two women appeared in the doorway, and the family resemblance was immediate. The taller woman, an Alpha with the same unruly, bright crimson hair as Kirishima, sharp, bright red eyes, and a broad, muscular frame clad in a denim apron, froze the moment her gaze landed on them. Beside her was a slender Beta woman with wavy black hair pinned loosely with a tortoiseshell comb, warm hazel eyes crinkling behind wire-rimmed glasses, and an open, radiant expression.
"Eijirou-chan!" the taller mother boomed, her voice carrying the same booming, unvarnished warmth as her son's. She practically bounded forward, pulling Kirishima into a bone-cracking bear hug that lifted him an inch off the tatami. "Look at you! You look exhausted from agency drills, have you been eating enough iron?!"
"Ma, please, I’m fine, put me down–" Kirishima wheezed, his cheeks flushing brilliant scarlet.
The second mother stepped past the chaos, coming to a gentle halt right before Katsuki. She didn't crowd him, and she kept her hands resting loosely against the fabric of her cardigan, allowing plenty of space for him to retreat if he needed. Her hazel eyes flicked down to the titanium torc gleaming at his throat, then back up to his sharp, guarded red eyes.
A soft, profoundly tender smile broke across her face. "You must be Katsuki," she said softly, her voice like warm rain. "I'm Emi. And that noisy bear over there is Riko."
"Welcome to the house, kid!" Riko dropped Kirishima with a thud, wiping her hands on her apron and bowing with deep, boisterous respect. "Eijiro-chan hasn't shut his mouth about you for six months straight! 'Katsuki did this, Katsuki threw an iron-head in the gym, Katsuki’s the most brilliant person in the entire prefecture', we felt like we knew you before you even got off the train!"
"Ma! Stop!" Kirishima groaned, burying his face directly into his hands while his ears practically smoked with embarrassment.
The rigid tension locked in Katsuki’s shoulders began to dissolve. The guarded edge in his posture softened, a faint, genuine flush dusting his high cheekbones as he dipped his head in a polite, measured bow. He reached into his sling bag, retrieving a wooden gift box tied with hemp cord, mountain tea and jars of wild plum preserves Touya had carefully packaged that morning.
"Thank you for having me, Kirishima-san," Katsuki said evenly, offering the box. "My pack sent this from the mountains."
"Oh, sweetheart, call us Emi and Riko, none of that formal nonsense," Emi beamed, taking the box with both hands and holding it like treasure. She looked at him closely, her gaze full of understanding. "And thank you. Eijirou-chan told us how hard your family fought to keep each other safe. We're honoured to have you here."
Dinner at the low kitchen table was lively and entirely unpretentious. Platters of spicy beef stew, mountain root vegetables, and grilled mackerel crowded the lacquer surface. Riko continually piled extra meat onto Katsuki’s bowl despite his irritated grunts, laughing heartily whenever he snapped back with sharp, witty remarks that would have made ordinary hosts flinch.
"See? I told you he had spine!" Riko crowed, slamming a hand onto the table in sheer delight. "A real partner who won't let Eijirou-chan get away with being a hard-headed idiot! I love him!"
"Ma, please let him eat," Kirishima laughed, though beneath the table, his knee pressed steadily against Katsuki’s, warm and unbroken.
Later, while Riko was dragging Kirishima into the kitchen to wash the heavy stockpots, Katsuki stepped out onto the narrow wooden engawa overlooking the small coastal garden. The night was cool, the sound of the ocean a steady, rhythmic sigh beyond the rooftops.
The screen door slid open quietly. Emi stepped out, setting a small ceramic cup of warm roasted green tea beside Katsuki before sitting down a respectful pace away, tucking her skirt under her knees.
"The torc suits you," Emi said gently, looking out at the dark hydrangeas swaying in the breeze. "Eijirou-chan spent three weeks blistering his knuckles in the UA forge to get the curvature right. He was terrified it would feel too heavy for you."
Katsuki looked down into the amber tea, his thumb lightly tracing the cool metal at his throat.
"It's not heavy," Katsuki murmured, his voice quiet, stripped bare of his usual defensive bite.
"Where I came from... People put collars on me to make me an object. To make sure I couldn't run." He lifted his chin, the red garnet catching the faint light from the living room. "This... This is the first time someone put something on me just to keep me safe."
Emi looked at him, her eyes shining with quiet, maternal warmth. She reached out slowly, resting a gentle, feather-light hand over the back of his fingers on the wood, giving him time to pull away if he wanted. Katsuki didn't move. He let the touch rest there, grounding and peaceful.
"You are safe here, Katsuki," Emi said softly. "With Eijirou-chan, and with us. You don't have to carry the war anymore." From the kitchen doorway, Kirishima stood drying a ceramic bowl with a towel, his crimson eyes watching the two of them on the veranda. His broad chest rose and fell with a deep, breathless fullness, the scent of cedar rising rich and steady into the salt air, knowing that his home and his heart were finally sitting together under the same quiet roof.
The warm spring breeze ruffled the sprawling lawn behind Heights Alliance, carrying the sweet, lively scents of blooming cherry blossoms, charred barbecue skewers, and fresh mountain fruit.
With their final, grueling hero license certification examinations just forty-eight hours away, Class 3-A had unilaterally declared an afternoon of complete armistice. Large blue tarps and heavy picnic blankets covered the grass under the shade of the grand zelkova trees, crowded with mismatched bento boxes, thermoses, and folding lawn chairs.
Katsuki sat cross-legged near the center of the largest quilt, leaning his back against Kirishima’s broad, unyielding chest. The titanium torc gleamed softly at the hollow of his throat, its deep crimson garnet catching the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves.
"If you drop sauce on me, hair-dye, I'm tossing you into the pond," Katsuki warned lazily, not bothering to open his eyes as he tilted his head back into Kirishima's collarbone.
"I won't drop anything, promise," Kirishima chuckled, his sharp-toothed grin warm and unhurried as he carefully fed Katsuki a slice of seasoned grilled beef from a wooden skewer.
Kirishima’s arm was looped comfortably around Katsuki’s waist, his thumb tracing slow, rhythmic circles against the hem of Katsuki's black sweater, scenting the immediate air with steady, sun-baked cedar.
A few feet away, Sero was refereeing an increasingly chaotic game of hacky sack between Kaminari, Mina, Jirou and Sato, while Iida aggressively swept stray napkins off the grass to maintain proper environmental standards. Near the cooler, Shouto sat quietly with Midoriya and Uraraka, splitting a container of chilled melon that Touya had packed specifically for Shouto before the weekend convoy left the mountains.
"Can you believe we're actually done after this week?" Mina sighed theatrically, collapsing backward onto the tarp with her arms outstretched toward the blue sky. "Three whole years of Aizawa-sensei threatening to expel us every single Monday morning!"
"He wouldn't dare expel us now," Kaminari wheezed, dropping onto a cooler with a loud thud. "Who else is going to keep his capture scarf in business?"
"We survived the training, the raids, and the war," Midoriya said softly, a bright, tearful smile gracing his freckled face as he looked around at the circle. "We're going to graduate together. All of us."
Katsuki looked across the expanse of the campus, at the grand glass towers of UA, at the students laughing around him, and finally down at Kirishima’s scarred, calloused hands resting over his own. The phantom chill of his old life, the clinical smell of suppressants, the dark shadow of All For One, all of it felt like another lifetime.
Here, surrounded by people who saw him not as a tool or a victim, but as family, he was completely whole.
Graduation day arrived in a swirl of fluttering cherry blossom petals and formal dark uniforms.
Up in the private upper gallery of the auditorium, Tomura stood with his hands in his dark slacks, his crimson gaze sharp and quiet, while Touya leaned against the railing beside Katsuki, wearing a tailored charcoal suit that concealed his faded burns.
When Class 3-A marched across the stage to receive their official Pro Hero commissions, Kirishima took his diploma with an unshakeable, beaming grin, lifting his gaze directly toward the upper tier where Katsuki was watching.
Katsuki raised a single hand, resting his fingers over the titanium band at his neck, and smiled.
